Golden House in Barnsley

I hadn't been here for over 10 years. The food was delicious. It was one of the best meals of this type that I have had in quite some time. This will now be my place of choice for Chinese food in the future. The menu is good, the prices are fair and the food is so spot on.

Had an amazing meal which was delicious highly recommend. Delivery driver polite and friendly. Definitely going to order from here in future 😄

The best Chinese food in Barnsley! Excellent beef udon noodle! Every single time delivery is so quick! Always hot and fresh food. Definitely recommend; especially udon noodle, half duck and king prawns in sesame!!

I have ordered from here many times always spot on. I dont know if its changed hands or what, but tonights meal was awful. i ordered pork curry which is normally what youd expect, not this time, the pork was cheap rubbish and the curry sauce was grainy lumpy awful stuff that was pale enough to be a korma. Its in the bin. Will never ever order from here again, shame as this was my go to, not anymore.

5stars for everything because problem was what was found in food...we ordered second and last time from there. I left good review on just eat before my partner actually ate the food...she found a piece of metal sponge in food...how did that could happen. I mean thats major health hazard!

Delivery was an hours wait which is reasonable on a saturday, delivered wrong food 3 times and still expected us to pay for it all even though we didn’t order it.

Just orderd and said on delivery with driver felt such a long time between update n cold chewy chips,spring rolls not able to eat so stodgy felt other things had to wormed up bit of a let down my 5 year old loves his prawn crackers but not these feel so let down as we were so hungry

Amazing food but some werid ed Sheeran from eBay kept saying “hey girle hold still” and kept asking to fight? But it was still amazing.

Best chinese around. I prefer going to this place over all others. However can you please update your opening times or be open when you say you will be. As the last 3 times I wanted to order from this place I have had to order elsewhere due to you not being open even though you should be. Such a shame as you are losing custom.

Lovely food. Mixed review I'm leaving as I've had lots of good experiences but 1 negative (which is all it takes sometimes). My negative was I was waiting for my food for 2 hours when they said it would be an hour, called after an hour and said it was on its way, 30 mins later called and still not come so called back they apologized and said it will be out soon, called back again after 2 hours and they said they had lost order (why not say this the past 3 times I had called), so I cancelled order in the end. I was not impressed.

OK rang placed order collected on time, decent prices and good food.

Can order King Prawn Vermicelli online from the Golden House menu for £5.50. Went to counter instead to order and was told it's £8??? I asked why. Was told they don't offer it but can do it for me for £8 🤣🤣🤣. Tip: Don't try ripping people off, especially when the cost of living is so expensive and people are struggling. Very bad behaviour on their part and fastest way to lose a regular customer. ** Please be careful when buying from this takeaway and check that they aren't purposely overcharging you.

Lovely food good friendly service

Placed order and after driver called and said he's down had to go and wait with my baby for over half hour for nothing as he left, when called the restaurant they been rude and kept telling me to wait, blocked my number in the end and when I called from another number they said my order was cancelled. Totally unprofessional especially when I specifically told them to ask driver to call and will explain where to come. The fact that I had to wait for so long with a baby in the cold and they didn't even bothered to apologise made me not ever want to order or recommend this place! I'll tell everyone to stay out of it!

3 prawns In the chow mein... its a joke. Don't bother with these.

The Worst Chinese Takeaway what i ever ate in my entire Life !!! Do not Buy unless you want to check how bad it is, also tried to contact them because i receive not what I've ordered. Guy didn't care at all he said call me back night because I'm busy now. He could barely speak English and 100% don't know what Chinese kitchen looks like.

So nice. If you are looking for old school chinese food which still comes in aluminium trays then this is your place. Honestly we love Chinese takeaways and struggle to find nice ones when we travel away from our home in Shropshire (we use a particular local one which we love) but this one is a serious contender. They also make the nicest homemade onion rings I've ever had. Give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it. Agree it's a shame they don't deliver but again.. Old skool 😉

I love this Chinese ...big meals ..great prices well cooked ..great staff ..brilliant just a shame it doesn't do a delivery service...
