Lovely wee chippy, usually my stomach feels upset after a chippy so I avoid them but thought I’d give this a chance as I was very hungry from house moving. Glad I did was tasty and would go back again.

Every time i get food from the golden cod it's been perfect. Large portion's and very reasonably priced.

Had a beautiful pastie supper at the same time (20:15) last Friday, dry, chrisp and fresh this week's wasnt great. The batter on the pastie was thick and tough like it had been sitting for a brave while and had started to dry out. The chips werent great this week either. Soggy and not the warmest. Obviously depends on what staff are on 🤷

Have used this chippy since it opened and until recent weeks things have gone down hill. Last Friday was the last straw fish used to be fantastic now for third week in a row skinny fish appeared to have been re-cooked as batter was like a brick sorry guys but it's back to Mr Thoms for us.

I was recommended to try this Chippy, I was sceptical as I had used other places in Lisburn for many years and there were a few ‘spurious’ negative reviews online. The fish I bought was perfect… lovely thick white cod, in a light crispy batter, the thick cut chips were great and the portions were more than generous. Hands down one of the best take away meals I’ve had in years. The folk there were bright and friendly so what more could a customer ask? I’m going nowhere else from now on.

Gone to the dogs, they make a mistake and say we'll bring it up but it will be a while. I'm used to eating my meals with all the food on my plate at once and not eat another part of it 45 mins later.

Fairly sure I got food poison from here, from a Mondays fish, only had a pancake to eat in morning, 7 hours before ordered here, up all night very bad from all ends. Something was badly wrong.

Best wee chippy in town. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The drivers are friendly and helpful.

It was busy when I visited. The order was taken quickly and although I had to wait for my order, it was understandable considering how busy it was. I'm happy to pay with cash, the prefered payment method. Always good size portions and well prepared. Will visit again

After reading good reviews in google, tried today for fish and chips which is totally awful. Looks to me the fish and chips cooked with old oil and has unpleasant oil odour. Curry sauce tasted good rest all into bin only. Wondering how it got so many 5 stars and I would say it’s not even worth 1 star.

This has great tasting food. The parking is good and easy in a location with some other shops (chemist, Chinese takeaway) including a SuperValu and a petrol station. The portion sizes were very generous. I had the fish and chips. They tasted great.

Went into shop, staff member approached, yes , me , a fish please , staff , salt , me no thanks , staff 10 minutes. Next was 147, me thank you . Got home and fish was in3parts , more batter than fish , packaging weighed more than the fish . The quality of the food was very good but the whole experience was not good .

Always use here when I want a Chippy. Really tasty food. When I get it delivered which is about 5 miles from chop shop, food is always piping hot. Staff are friendly and always really pleasant on phone. Keep up the good work 👍

Fish supper well worth it, twice the fish anywhere else. Not just great quantity but quality. Plus small burger still big enough for adult. Will use again. You get value here. Yum.

Wow, where to begin, chicken fillet burgers with no salad!, chips in a lump, all cold! Ordered nice and early chose a delivery slot of 17.30, arrived half an hour early, thought ok at least it will be fresh, NO. Totally unpalatable went into bin. Will NOT be using again.

Ring up the golden cod to place an other to ignored then hang up on if I could give it no stars i would ... Staff are ride and too busy talking to other staff members to care I won't get out of here it's a disgrace

Any food ordered from here has been made quickly and cooked well, just a star lost as it has been somewhat greasy. Although staff have been friendly and helpful everytime I have been in.

The nicest delivery driver around! Such a nice man, food always lovely, well priced always hot and very fast delivery. Always order from here now, their fish is amazing! Well done golden cod your customer service is always impeccable, and a special thanks to your delivery driver it really makes a difference! He deserves a pay rise I don’t want to hand him a tip now we have gone cashless with covid but he deserves recognition

Not great, was recommended by a friend. Day I went in the shop seemed to have an issue with flies. Then for a pretty simple order I had to stand and wait for over 20 minutes, few hygiene issues with staff lifting stuff off the floor and not cleaning their hands. Food didn't taste great either. Not for me, will continue my search for a good chip shop in the lisburn area.

Powerful feed, massive slap of grub. The cod fish suppers are unreal, portion and taste. Would recommend this place. Great chips, lovely fish as well. If you don't get a fish supper and a pastie, you're yellow.

Best fish and chips I've had in the Lisburn area, premises are spotlessly clean, and portion size is large/generous. Staff are friendly and willing to please the customer. Recommended if your in the area, prices are reasonable for the amount provided (large).

The worse experience since this shop opened.At shop put order in given receipt.Awaited in que for order no to be called.There was only 2 people in front of me. Waited for 40 minutes girls getting busy .other customers come and went.about 10/12 people who was served before me.was going to kick off .took food home, to cold .had to heat fishsupper +other item in microwave.Darrin staff need retrained?.

Had a full soda earlier and it was top drawer.

Was about 20 min waiting for food with 2 people in front. For a chip you would think they could get it faster to you. Couple years back food from here was amazing and fast serving but on this day was slow with hard chips and skin on about 20%. Probably a bad day and would go back if I can't get food from anywhere else but wouldn't be a place I would make a habit to visit.
