We were happy with our meal. One dish was very good, but sadly the other one was not as good. So overall a 4* rating, but will be back to get take-away again.

I have not been in here a year. The people whoever they are do not have a clue, this is definitely not Chinese food not by any stretch of the imagination. Steer clear of the sweet and sour balls, ant the chips were last night's warmed up. Absolute garbage. Go elsewhere

Amazing food the best staff I've ever met

Tasteless soup and main not what I ordered..overly sickly sweet thin gravy with a ton of onions and a few bits of green pepper and the odd grate iof carrot , instead of chilli sauce. Lady on till also rather disinterested when I was in and on the phone with my complaint. Not the friendliest manner. Offered some kind of discount if I left my name but I won't be bothering.

Delivery driver was late & drove like a maniac down a dark single lane road nearly knocking over my neighbour. Food was cold, tasteless & expensive. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place doesn’t deserve any business. Revolting .

Great food and very generous portions

This is the best Chinese takeaway in the area by far. The chicken satay on skewers are fantastic and everything else was cooked to perfection.

Won this meal waited two days for delivery.it arrived late after not coming the previous evening . Food was nice . Disappointed that there was no rice for the curry.

Generally the food was ok but their prawn crackers were soft and were obviously not fresh. The order was also delivered without an item we had ordered. Could do better.

Tried this takeaway for the first time only within the last 12 months and I use it more and more frequently. Twice this week actually. There is a great variety on the menu and they will deliver. If you're greedy like me, or a small family or a couple - take advantage of the 3 main meals for £15.50 deal they have Sun to Thu. Order 2 things you like and one you've never tried and it alm makes for a great opportunity to try different dishes. Friendly staff and quick service I would definitely recommend this place. We've not had any complaints and the kids also enjoy the food. Wish I tried it sooner

Good food unfortunately what we ordered was not what we received. Once you get the food home it's too late to return it for correction.

Ordered at 7pm told delivery within an hour - food arrived at 8.35 and cold , had the filet steak - not sure what is was but not fillet steak lumps of brown chewy stuff that went in the bin along with the rest of the £25 spent - avoid

Probably the worst takeaway I've ever had Soft old tasting crackers, 2 main dishes both tasted the same (Probably 1 pot for all) egg fried rice brown no egg, Son got the expensive crispy aromatic duck which was neither crispy or aromatic and full of fat

Very very poor indeed,haven't the patience to write more, sorry. Chips i think were boiled, not fried, curry sauce watered down.Egg foo yung dry and bouncy, horrible. Too expensive for what you get.

Had a delivery this evening the special friend rice was disgracefull, bits of God know what in the rice, did call back and know awaiting my refund. Other dish we ordered was ok....just.

Have used this takeaway multiple times since moving locally, and have always been impressed by the quality of the food and the speed of preparation.

Fantastic food! Was advised about different dishes and decided to sample something different! I was not disappointed! Highly recommend and they don’t use MSG in food which my friend is allergic to so she can actually enjoy a chinese meal with us!

Good food but would not recommend for late night grub as they ALWAYS close 15-30 Mins early and you will be told they are no longer taking orders 20 mins before closing time. Very bad marketing move when the pub adjacent closes at the same time stated on the door.

Terrible. Tasteless. Poor quality meat what little there was to be found. Chewy. Yuck! Terrible rice. Don't bother. I don't like to write negative views but on the positive side I'm trying to save new customers some money.

What has happened to this Chinese, it first reopened and the food was lovely.. Just what the village needed.. Last few takeaways very average, but tonight!!!! Never again, SLOP!!! Is only word what I can describe what that dish was...

The food is ok but pricey so I get takeaway Chinese delivered from other places despite living only a matter of metres from Golden Chef. The staff are very friendly.

The food was great and it was delivered very quickly however my experience was tainted by the fact that the delivery boy texted me after he had delivered my meal asking if i was single. I had no idea who was texting me and he said someone had given him my number, after a few messages asking who it was it transpired that was the delivery boy! I find this completely unprofessional and unnerving that he would think this was ok to do. It was the first time we had used this takeaway and we will not be ordering from there again! Please have a word with your staff!

Ha habido un chino llevar en Middleton St George por un largo tiempo y la verdad es que era un mal asunto, tenía que ser bastante borrachos para comer cualquier cosa, desde allí. Por desgracia, me han sido consumidos varias veces a lo largo de los años, así que usamos a menudo.La nueva China ha estado abierto por algunos meses y es una importante mejora, es más limpia y algunas de las comidas son bastante buenos.El servicio es generalmente bien y tienen un servicio de entrega, el menú es muy amplio, hasta la fecha he tenido la carne de Szechuan unas cuantas veces y fue muy buena, me he también había algunos que no era tan bueno.que no coincide con algunos en Darlington pero es una mejora de la vieja llevar.
