Golden Charcoal in Braintree

I used this place years ago and the lamb was so gristly and fatty it was horrific! The lamb is exactly as terrible as it was all those years ago! Still barely edible and just gristle. So disappointed what a waste of time and money.

Portions have shrunk and the prices are up... Waste of money, overpriced crap. Spent nearly £30 struggled to feed 3 people

Very dry kebab on our order, obviously not freshly carved as hard bits clumped together at bottom of tray, small portion of chips for £4. Salad & breads ok. Promised a 40 min delivery, took 65 mins. Was the best kebabs in Witham, not convinced anymore.

The kebab I had was absolutely perfect. As last time there was plenty of chicken, salad and pitta. We look forward to visit again soon. Well done Golden Charcoal!!!! 10/10.

Omg; just had the best take away for ages, it arrived on time and was so tasty and the portions were too much for us; it was a shame to waste some of it. Will definitely use again: best take away in witham

Ordered a large lamb shish and a shish wrap together with some cheesy chips, mozzarella sticks and it came to £36. I’d heard really good things about this place but to say I was disappointed was an understatement! We simply couldn’t eat it! The lamb was so riddled with fat and gristle I honestly tried to chew through it, we both did but it was horrific! I thought I’d give to me dogs but like I said there was so much fat I wouldn’t inflict it on them for all the money in the world. Kelvedon King are by far the best and most consistent place anywhere near here I wouldn’t inflict Golden Charcoal on my worst enemy! I called and asked for my money back but they were closed. I messaged and left a voicemail but not heard back.
