Had a great takeout experience! Ordered Peking duck and asked for extra sauce and cucumber slices—they were super generous with it. Portions are good, and definitely worth the money. Will be ordering again!

Absolutely delicious! I'm a big fan of Ho Fun with Beef, and this was some of the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was just right. A definite must-try!

As with many places, Gold Mine has really gone downhill in the last few years in terms of value for money. Firstly, my biggest bugbear is that whilst they’ve always had a 12% service charge which is not itemised on the receipt, they now are very pushy about getting a tip on top of the service charge. Clearly they count on many customers not realising that they’ve already been charged. To add to that the food portions are smaller and the cost of dishes has gone up considerably. There’s no excuse even with inflation to charge circa £18 for simple veg side dishes of beans, broccoli or choy sum. . The quality of the food doesn’t seem quite as good as it used to be. Last two times I’ve visited I’ve left feeling ripped off and so I won’t be visiting again

Nice place a short walk from Bayswater station. I have come here for a lunar new year dinner the last two year, and the food has always been great. As you’d expect, they have a huge selection and variety of dishes available, and I have never been disappointed eating here. The service is nice enough; pretty much what you would expect – efficient and to the point.

The environment is very noisy, and the gaps between the tables are very small, yet the food is more expensive than in an average Chinese restaurant. The last time I came, the food tasted pretty good, but this time, every dish was served in just three minutes, and they were all a bit cold. The roasted duck was also very greasy. When I brought it up to the waiter, they refused to admit that the food was pre-made and claimed it was their “secret recipe.” The staff and service were very unpleasant. At checkout, they even asked if I wanted to add a tip. A terrible restaurant—I won’t be coming back and definitely don’t recommend it to others.3 people with a total spend of 150 pounds.

Went here for Singsoc meal. Food was bussin. Staff were extremely helpful and kind. We go so many fortune cookies and they asked us if we needed rice resup. Overall great.

Poor experience. The food here is: expensive, unauthentic and unpleasant. I used to live in China so feel confident to say that this is not good chinese food I had a vegetarian main which was £18, and my partner had the driest crispy chicken which was served (bizarrely) with prawn crackers and a lemon. We each had a main, some steamed rice, tea and a beer, and it came to a shocking £70. Food was not worth it and we left feeling scammed. Service is also quite curt and rude. Avoid!!

WARNING WARNING - PLEASE READ !!!!! I would strongly reccomend all customers to check your bill carefully at the end of your meal at this restaurant. Always ask for the ITEMISED BILL as opposed to the other receipt (IN CHINESE, OWN LANGUAGE) they like to give showing the total only. They tried to double charge us for the two must expensive dishes on our order twice! When I pointed this out to the staff it reduced out bill by £40.00. This place caters for alot of tourists and you never know what they are charging for if you dont ask for a itemised bill in ENGLISH they can really charge anything if you dont ask for an English bill. NOTE: This restaurant also charge 50p per takeaway box. Even after you spend £149.00 there. Dont make sence. Going back to my favourite restaurant now Bang Bang Colindale. Its ashame our whole experience with goldmine was ruined because of this experience. They lost a customer that spent an average of 390 within two visits. Feel free to message me or contact me back about this Goldmine. ABSOLUTLY DISAPOINTING AND DISGRACEFUL. VERY NOISY RESTAURANT. Disappointed 😞 with the takeaway as a month ago I attended the restaurant in person and had the fried wings, fried ribs and chicken fried rice the food was amazing but unfortunately tonight I ordered the exact same things and the food was greasy , oily and no flavour plus the rice was cold in the middle and dry and the wings and ribs was fried in dirty oil as the bones were black! Sorry Goldmine for what you charge I expected the same service for my takeaway as if I was in your restaurant. I will not be getting a takeaway away from yourselves. Sadly I had to dispose of most of the meal as it was too oily and greasy to eat and the rice once heated up had no flavour. £36.00 wasted.....😔

We came here as a recommendation from a friend. We ordered the Cantonese duck 4/5: good flavors but we needed more crispy skin. Beef sizzling 5/5: tender beef in great sauce. Mushroom and bok choy 4/5: great flavors but small portion. Duck tongues 2/5: flavorful but full of bones, not cleaned well . Seafood shumai 4/5: good but small portion. House wine 5/5: 👍 Overall, good food but a bit overpriced for the portions.

Superb char siu and all dim sum are of high quality. I like this place much more than its China town outpost which is more noisy.

Go to resto for roasted duck, one of the best this side of Kensington, dimsum delights also served...long queu but well worth the wait, service is quick and efficient for all orders, easier on the pocket than Mandarin Kitchen down the road.

The food is delicious, the portion is large and the price is reasonable. Although the waiters are busy, their attitude is also very good. The carrot cake, custard buns and barbecued pork buns are all delicious. The roast duck is also great.

This is the best dim sum place in London. The variety is there. The duck rice is excellent. Prices might look higher but the quality is breath-taking. I have been living in London for more than 10 years. I love the dim sum here. This is possibly one of the Cheong fun with the thinnest skin in the uk... I don't know if HK has a better version but this is the best I have eaten.

Really great food and reasonably priced. The roast pork was particularly good and the prawn cheung feung is always a favourite in my opinion. Only negatives were that the restaurant was quite hectic and we were sat right by the front door despite having a booking, meaning it was freezing with people coming in and out the whole time.

This chinese food here was good, but I am still debating whether it is worth the price as I have tasted better chinese that cost a lot less, however the service and the atmosphere is a 9/10. My bill came to £42.80 for noodles, sweet &sour chicken and prawn rolls. The portions were huge. There was a big group of us and our waiter served us well, he was courteous, patient and helpful. This restaurant is pretty big, We were sat in the upstairs area which was sectioned off from the main restaurant, it was intimate; there was another family sat in the corner of the room but they soon left, so it felt like we had a private section. This sectioned off part of the restaurant is perfect for a birthday group of 10, graduation, anniversary, birthday or private dinner.

Expensive and just bad. We spent there 87£ for 3 meals with drinks and we ate maybe 1/3. We order pork and it was the cheapest kind of meat with a lot of amount of fat. Every piece had big junk of fat. Even noodles were greasy. I understand every cuisine has different style but I know Chinese food and it was cheap and bad quality. Waitress was expecting that we would give tip and she was in shock when I click 0%.

I recently visited this restaurant, and while some aspects were good, my overall experience was disappointing. The portion sizes were moderate, and our waiter was excellent—very patient and professional throughout. Their service was a highlight of the visit. However, the manager’s behavior was unacceptable. When I chose not to pay the service fee (which is clearly stated as discretionary on the menu), the manager rudely suggested that I should opt for takeaway if I didn’t want to pay it. UK law regulates that service charges are optional, so pressuring customers to pay or questioning their decision not to undermines this principle. If the fee is truly discretionary, there should be no need for such insistence or rude remarks. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff to respect customers’ lawful choices without unnecessary confrontation. If not, it will be totally a SCAM

We ordered the.popular dishes - roast duck 4.5* out of 5 - Shanghainese dumpling 3* - duck porridge 4* Service was fast, efficient and polite. Went back for more on Saturday evening. Very packed. Had to wait more than half an hour in the queue just to get in. We ordered - Peking duck 5* - fried prawns 4* - roast pork 4*

Delicious Cantonese meal. The Peking duck was outstanding and the salt and pepper squid was light and crispy. They didn’t kick us out either so we were able to enjoy our meal and catch up with friends.

The worst experience I had, both the service and food quality was extremely poor. I order one of their recommended chicken dish expecting it to be well cooked. It came raw and stinky which was absolutely inedible. When I told this to the waiter, they just simply laughed and left. Despite the poor service they still tried to ask for extra tips on top on the service charge. When I refused to give the tip, the waiter seemed very annoyed. I really hope others won’t get scammed again.

As a family we have been going here for years. The Gold mine in China town is the same. Food used to be good. Service is rude and abrupt. Prices extortionate. Much better quality, service and atmosphere at the Four Seasons.

Great Cantonese food and service was fast and attentive. Had the roast duck, black pepper beef, sweet and sour prawn and salt and chili squid. All the dishes are very good esp the roast duck. Definitely will return when I am in London next.

The vegetables were cooked to perfection—tender yet crunchy, with a velvety oyster sauce that added an umami touch. Simple but superb. However, perhaps a bit steep at £14 for a bit of pak choi. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at 7pm, they had already run out of Char Siu (BBQ Pork) and crispy belly pork, so I’ll be returning to try them. I also noticed that their hot and sour soup and seafood dishes looked equally enticing. The service was warm and efficient, with staff who made sure we felt welcomed throughout our meal. A true Chinese food experience. Mainly Cantonese cuisine. The duck is amazing. Dim sum varieties are delicious. They haven't changed in years.

I was shocked by the terrible quality of food and rude service considering so many excellent reviews Looking closer now, I can see they are posted by accounts with 1 review solely for this restaurant (fake accounts), this is a tourist trap restaurant 🪤 The bill comes as 2 small pieces of paper of full price to pay and Chinese names of food. No information on separate items you bought or service charge (who knows how much they charge for what). Have never received anything like this at a restaurant. Had a read of other reviews and frequently people are getting overcharged so be careful. Would not recommend this place. Our food was so bad, burnt old oil, no flavour and terrible rude service from the staff throughout

Very disappointing take away experience. I love Chinese food and decided to order 1 sweet and sour pork, 1 appetiser (stuffed skin rolls) and a portion of ribs. For £44 this was a disaster. Pork: much more vegetables than pork, pork not very tender and a bit dry, taste was disappointing. Rolls: for over £8 I got 3 small rolls, tastw was very average. Ribs: I have had better from other cheaper Chinese restaurants. Overall, too pricey for too little. Not ordering again.

Probably one of my favourite dimsum joints. Big juicy prawns in the ha gaw, crispy xo lor bat gaw cubes and all the usuals you expect dished up efficiently to feed your hungry soul. Too busy eating for pics....!

Worse restaurant I have ever eaten at food reasonable we were sat next to where food is delivered that noisey may as well sat in kitchen to eat terrible atmosphere could not enjoy meal with all the banging and crashing of plates and empty bottles would have enjoyed cafe better and charged premium price for this privilege will not return

Gold Mine Queensway W2, Among the Best in Chinese Food If you are a lover of all foods Chinese, then this place is certainly worth a visit. Location: The restaurant is located at the heart of the very busy, bustling Queensway in Bayswater, London W2. The restaurant is always lively, busy and although there is a large seating area spread across what is effectively two buildings, you are very likely to have to wait for a table. Staff: The staff are generally fairly polite and helpful, and service is prompt and of a high standard. The young man who appears to be or certainly act as the manager can be a bit scratchy, but if you are not too easily offended, you should be able to overlook that. Food: Now, this is where this place makes a statement and is a standout and amongst the best Chinese restaurants I have visited. The food is simply sublime!! The taste, the colour, the freshness, and the portion size are absolutely wonderful. Their special fried rice is very special indeed and is simply on another level. Their Roast Duck and Char Sui Roast Pork, again, this is on another level. The vegetables are fresh, crispy, and tasty. Their menu is quite extensive and I am sure that whatever you order will be of the highest quality and taste. This place is quite pricy, but it is simply worth a visit. I highly recommend it.

DON'T TIP! Service charge is already included. I accidentally tip once when I didn't know service wasn't included. I ended up paying £20 more for a meal which was 30 before service charge and tip. I'm Chinese and been living in London for nearly 20 yrs, this is the only restaurant trying to double dip. Not cool and bad reflection for us Chinese. I ordered Roasted Duck Noodles in soup because I felt half of the roasted duck would be too much for me alone. It was a great choice. The soup is so good, and there's so much meat. I felt so warm after having this soup on a typical chilly day of London. It was really satisfying.

The food here is so good. I have been wanting to try this restaurant, as I’m a big fan of Four Season food, and from what I heard that Gold Mine is just the same food but more expensive compared to Four Season, but this is totally not true, as food at Gold Mine is so much better. Roasted Duck is a must-try, Dim Sum here is also very good. Indeed, you pay a bit more for so much better food. Highly recommend.
