A very pleasant group of staffs that always give a hundred and one percent to all the customers! Took alot of initiative to entertain and look after the customers throughout the session they are there.

Super efficient staff very accommodating,, despite the full load and so e annoying customer who order and ask for 2 glasses, they accommodated with a solid big smile. Will definitely come back again.

Expensive and just bad. We spent there 87£ for 3 meals with drinks and we ate maybe 1/3. We order pork and it was the cheapest kind of meat with a lot of amount of fat. Every piece had big junk of fat. Even noodles were greasy. I understand every cuisine has different style but I know Chinese food and it was cheap and bad quality. Waitress was expecting that we would give tip and she was in shock when I click 0%.

I recently visited this restaurant, and while some aspects were good, my overall experience was disappointing. The portion sizes were moderate, and our waiter was excellent—very patient and professional throughout. Their service was a highlight of the visit. However, the manager’s behavior was unacceptable. When I chose not to pay the service fee (which is clearly stated as discretionary on the menu), the manager rudely suggested that I should opt for takeaway if I didn’t want to pay it. UK law regulates that service charges are optional, so pressuring customers to pay or questioning their decision not to undermines this principle. If the fee is truly discretionary, there should be no need for such insistence or rude remarks. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff to respect customers’ lawful choices without unnecessary confrontation. If not, it will be totally a SCAM

We ordered the.popular dishes - roast duck 4.5* out of 5 - Shanghainese dumpling 3* - duck porridge 4* Service was fast, efficient and polite. Went back for more on Saturday evening. Very packed. Had to wait more than half an hour in the queue just to get in. We ordered - Peking duck 5* - fried prawns 4* - roast pork 4*

The worst experience I had, both the service and food quality was extremely poor. I order one of their recommended chicken dish expecting it to be well cooked. It came raw and stinky which was absolutely inedible. When I told this to the waiter, they just simply laughed and left. Despite the poor service they still tried to ask for extra tips on top on the service charge. When I refused to give the tip, the waiter seemed very annoyed. I really hope others won’t get scammed again.

Delicious Cantonese meal. The Peking duck was outstanding and the salt and pepper squid was light and crispy. They didn’t kick us out either so we were able to enjoy our meal and catch up with friends.

As a family we have been going here for years. The Gold mine in China town is the same. Food used to be good. Service is rude and abrupt. Prices extortionate. Much better quality, service and atmosphere at the Four Seasons.

This time, I found myself at Gold Mine in Queensway, a long-standing institution renowned for Cantonese cuisine. These noodles were a revelation. The deep umami flavors were rich yet balanced, and the noodles were coated in just the right amount of glaze—never greasy. A complex, addictive dish. 🍚Special Fried Rice
Fried rice can often feel dry, but Gold Mine’s version was far from it. The rice was coated in a luscious coat that amplified the umami, and the combination of pork and shrimp brought it to perfection. A 10/10. 🥬Pak Choi in Oyster Sauce
The vegetables were cooked to perfection—tender yet crunchy, with a velvety oyster sauce that added an umami touch. Simple but superb. However, perhaps a bit steep at £14 for a bit of pak choi. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at 7pm, they had already run out of Char Siu (BBQ Pork) and crispy belly pork, so I’ll be returning to try them. I also noticed that their hot and sour soup and seafood dishes looked equally enticing. The service was warm and efficient, with staff who made sure we felt welcomed throughout our meal. Great Cantonese food and service was fast and attentive. Had the roast duck, black pepper beef, sweet and sour prawn and salt and chili squid. All the dishes are very good esp the roast duck. Definitely will return when I am in London next.

A true Chinese food experience. Mainly Cantonese cuisine. The duck is amazing. Dim sum varieties are delicious. They haven't changed in years.

I was shocked by the terrible quality of food and rude service considering so many excellent reviews Looking closer now, I can see they are posted by accounts with 1 review solely for this restaurant (fake accounts), this is a tourist trap restaurant 🪤 The bill comes as 2 small pieces of paper of full price to pay and Chinese names of food. No information on separate items you bought or service charge (who knows how much they charge for what). Have never received anything like this at a restaurant. Had a read of other reviews and frequently people are getting overcharged so be careful. Would not recommend this place. Our food was so bad, burnt old oil, no flavour and terrible rude service from the staff throughout

Comida rica, cantidades abundantes y buena relación calidad-precio para ser Londres. Además, el servicio es bastante rápido. El espacio es agradable, acogedor pero suele estar bastante lleno. Very disappointing take away experience. I love Chinese food and decided to order 1 sweet and sour pork, 1 appetiser (stuffed skin rolls) and a portion of ribs. For £44 this was a disaster. Pork: much more vegetables than pork, pork not very tender and a bit dry, taste was disappointing. Rolls: for over £8 I got 3 small rolls, tastw was very average. Ribs: I have had better from other cheaper Chinese restaurants. Overall, too pricey for too little. Not ordering again.

Probably one of my favourite dimsum joints. Big juicy prawns in the ha gaw, crispy xo lor bat gaw cubes and all the usuals you expect dished up efficiently to feed your hungry soul. Too busy eating for pics....!

Worse restaurant I have ever eaten at food reasonable we were sat next to where food is delivered that noisey may as well sat in kitchen to eat terrible atmosphere could not enjoy meal with all the banging and crashing of plates and empty bottles would have enjoyed cafe better and charged premium price for this privilege will not return

Gold Mine Queensway W2, Among the Best in Chinese Food If you are a lover of all foods Chinese, then this place is certainly worth a visit. Location: The restaurant is located at the heart of the very busy, bustling Queensway in Bayswater, London W2. The restaurant is always lively, busy and although there is a large seating area spread across what is effectively two buildings, you are very likely to have to wait for a table. Staff: The staff are generally fairly polite and helpful, and service is prompt and of a high standard. The young man who appears to be or certainly act as the manager can be a bit scratchy, but if you are not too easily offended, you should be able to overlook that. Food: Now, this is where this place makes a statement and is a standout and amongst the best Chinese restaurants I have visited. The food is simply sublime!! The taste, the colour, the freshness, and the portion size are absolutely wonderful. Their special fried rice is very special indeed and is simply on another level. Their Roast Duck and Char Sui Roast Pork, again, this is on another level. The vegetables are fresh, crispy, and tasty. Their menu is quite extensive and I am sure that whatever you order will be of the highest quality and taste. This place is quite pricy, but it is simply worth a visit. I highly recommend it.

DON'T TIP! Service charge is already included. I accidentally tip once when I didn't know service wasn't included. I ended up paying £20 more for a meal which was 30 before service charge and tip. I'm Chinese and been living in London for nearly 20 yrs, this is the only restaurant trying to double dip. Not cool and bad reflection for us Chinese. I ordered Roasted Duck Noodles in soup because I felt half of the roasted duck would be too much for me alone. It was a great choice. The soup is so good, and there's so much meat. I felt so warm after having this soup on a typical chilly day of London. It was really satisfying.

The food here is so good. I have been wanting to try this restaurant, as I’m a big fan of Four Season food, and from what I heard that Gold Mine is just the same food but more expensive compared to Four Season, but this is totally not true, as food at Gold Mine is so much better. Roasted Duck is a must-try, Dim Sum here is also very good. Indeed, you pay a bit more for so much better food. Highly recommend.

Great duck! Just the right portion of duck and rice would do the job. Duck tongue is served cold with chilli oil. Staff are quite active to juggle around different tables. The entrance is quite small for a wheelchair. Tables are also packed so it's not easy to roll in and out. Restroom is definitely out of questions for handicapped.

The Peking duck is exceptional, the noodles too, the tea is all very fine.

The barbecue pork is simply the best in London. I’ve visited Chinese all over London, and I can whole heartedly say that this char Sui pork is the best in London by far. Their sweet and sour chicken is incredible. 10/10 restaurant.

1 star as they continue the service charge scam (service charge already added then they ask for more service charge when you pay). Price has also increased significantly so would not recommend. The best way to take away the roast duck.

The roast duck was delicious but one will has to put up with The RUDEST service ever from their waiter. Asking for their chilli sauce is like extracting a bone from them and the waiter actually shouted rudely at us when we asked politely.

Slow service, roast duck was underwhelming, bland and was a bit cold when served. dimsum came after the mains. vermicelli noodles was also bland. both were marked as specialty dishes so obviously it was disappointing. the only saving grace was the dimsum (we had the siu mai and prawn dumpling) but they did not serve it with soy sauce and chili or with black vinegar unlike other chinese restaurants we’ve been to. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Food was decent and service was good, they seem to be a bit sneaky with the bill though (don’t remember any of it being in English, and they conveniently ripped off the bottom half of it) to charge you more than you would expect. They also ask for tips on top of a service charge which is crazy.

This has become our go to Chinese Restaurant when we're in London. A popular place, so make sure to book in advance. We went yesterday with some friends, 5 adults all together, and we ordered a whole fried crispy duck with pancakes, then 2 crispy chilli beef, 2 Singapore noodles, prawn toast and broccoli with garlic. Tasty as always! See you next time!

My overall is just so-so, below average. I'm surpress the place is crowded, the one a few doors away is better. Coming Asia, I have to mark down on the food serve, mild in flavour is fine, how could anybody serve Roast Belly covered with soya sauce whc spoiled the entire eating pleasure taken away the crisp of crackling skin.. Service by student staff are good and attentive, who encouraged and packed the left over esp the expensive soggy Roast Pork. The bill doesn't come with breakdowns but a total which is etiquettely so wrong, yet the cashier China-girl has the cheek to ask me for tips; no way I'm coming back.

Truly AWFUL order from deliveroo - everything we ordered other than the fried rice was horrible. Got a whole peking duck and it was chopped up with so many bones in it for £55! Barely any meat AVOID

WARNING WARNING - PLEASE READ !!!!! I would strongly reccomend all to check your bill at the end of your meal at this restaurant. Always ask for the ITEMISED BILL as opposed to the other receipt (IN CHINESE, OWN LANGUAGE) they like to give showing the total only. They tried to double charge us for the two must expensive dishes on our order twice! When I pointed this out to the staff it reduced out bill by £40.00. This place caters for alot of tourists and you never know what they are charging fir if you dont ask for a itemised bill in ENGLISH. they can really charge anything if you dont ask for an English bill. NOTE: This restaurant also charge 50p per takeaway box. Even after you spend £149.00 there. Dont make sence. Going back to my favourite restaurant now Bang Bang Colindale. Its ashame our whole experience with goldmine was ruined because of this experience. They lost a customer that spent an average of 390 within two visits. Actually I really love foods here but today I was disappointed about service charges which took 12.5% already on bills then when staff member came with card machine and asked me to pay (the way she said to me is like nothing charge on bills then I felt so bad to leave some tips on it EXTRA!!!). I think she thought that I’m a foreigner because I went there with my friends whom came to visit me here. I’m not really happy with this service, I felt like I got ripped off from them when you already paid for services 12.5% then when you tried to pay bills on card (staff member tried to trick you to put more than 5% on it again), this is way too much and when I went to ask them. They said to me “It is optional. We didn’t force you to pay” BUT FOR ME!!!THE WAY YOU SAID IT WHEN YOU CHARGED ME. LOOK LIKED IN THE BILLS GOT NO SERVICE CHARGE ON IT. I don’t think I will go back there again. I don’t like when you are not be honest to all customers.

A classic chinese/hongkong styled resturant that gives baywaters it's distinct character. Highly recommend their duck and dimsun. Excellect service from their staff

I eas walking down Queensway when I saw this restaurant. I had my lunch here and I can tecomend the tripe in Satay sauce.

The restaurant is busy. It is very noisy. Our food was ok, but not everything we ordered came. We got charged for items we ordered that never came. The wine had sediments in it at the end which is very off putting. We sat near a door that kept opening and the wind came through constantly. It’s very expensive for a noisy place.

This is the best dim sum place in London. The duck rice is excellent. Prices might look higher but the quality is breath-taking. I have been living in London for more than 10 years. I love the dim sum here. This is possibly one of the Cheong fun with the thinnest skin in the uk... I don't know if HK has a better version but this is the best I have eaten.
