Today I ordered okra soup with goat meat. I don’t know what it was but It was not goat meat they served! Not only that for a meal it was just one piece of meat with a large bone. Barely any meat. I have never been to any African restaurant that served one piece of meat with the meal!We complained but nothing was done .This was in contrast to the day before where we had guinea fowl and yam at the same which was quite good and why we returned to have a meal. I suggest you go to this place for snacks and drinks only. There are other African restaurants to eat rtom

Compré Ched 6 Special y FUfu y sopa ligera como siempre lo he hecho. Sin embargo, cuando me llevé la comida a casa y se fue. La comida aquí es fantástica. Esta vez tenían un nuevo camarero que era un niño. Él era educado y servicial en todos los días. Mi familia y yo observamos lo bien que él ordenaba la habitación. Absolutamente me encanta la comida aquí. Soy vegetariano, así que siempre ordeno el Red Red con jollof rice, y a veces el kelewele. ¡La única razón por la que no le he dado una reseña de 5 estrellas es porque creo que al pub le vendría bien una nueva decoración! Great food, friendly staff, nice place. I´m always having a really good time there. There is a live music on Sundays. Can highly recommend.

I love African food so I pop in for take away occasionally. I been there one Sunday afternoon for a drink.I found the place friendly and familiar. lovely little garden. I must go there one Saturday night..

Absolutely loved the food, exactly how I remember some of the best meals I had during a trip to the real Gold Coast earlier in the year. Took me right back to Accra, will definitely visit again, thank you!

Visited the Gold Coast restaurant on 13th November 2016 around 16:30 .myself ,my wife and 3kids.we were greeted nicely .gave a table for 4.i asked for a high chair for my 11 months old baby and it never came .my wife asked and was told that there is none .took out orders .had the starter after 30 mins.kebab was terrible.the mains took over an hour .the tilapia was dry and tasteless..my kids food was cold and they didn't enjoy it.guinea fowl wasn't well seasoned.Don't think I will go back there again.terrible experience and poor food standard.the gentle man came halfway through my meal and offered a high chair which was very dirty and tried cleaning it in my presence.my wife rejected it .there was no check to see if we needed something.no water to even wash our hands,no extra bowl to put our bones in them .

After reading some of the negative reviews on here I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Gold Coast. It is a quirky establishment which is a restaurant/ bar with music and dancing in the evening.

Se dice que es un restaurante, pero con dos ghanian ghanians nativos visitado y nadie era capaz de hablar el idioma nativo y la comida le faltaba el sabor tradicional.

The food has gone down hill recently. Be aware they operate a payment scam. The card payment does not work first time and I tried again. The machine takes payment twice and I still can't get my money back despite evidence. I am not the only person.

Shame on the service as they did get our order wrong a few times, otherwise wonderful atmosphere, nice staff and good food!

I have been going here for years now and I love it. Whether it's for a sit down meal or take away. Always tasty and friendly staff. Of you've never tried it, go in and do so, also if you like spicy food then you are sorted

Wondeful atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff and even friendlier clientele. We had a lovely evening and I got a chance to sing with the very entertaining Masai band. I look forward to visiting Gold Coast again. Soon!

Were taken there by friends. Never knew African food would taste so nice. The food was delicious, the service was good and we really enjoyed it. Will go there again any day.

I love this bar / restaurant. Was introduced by 2 Nigerian friends as their favourite place to hang out. Fantastic garden, do yourself a favour & have the chicken special. Spicy but delicious.

I haven't been here for dinner but my boyfriend took me to this place one Saturday night for a drink. They had a DJ playing good music and we stayed well past midnight. I would definitely go back again for the music and drinks.

Dear sir/madamAfter arriving with 10 guest at the Gold Coast restaurant, we were shown to a table in the middle of what can only be described as a pub ( not the area we were expecting for a large group). We were then told that it was self service and that we had to go to the bar to order our food ( hardly ideal for a group of ten!) After we sat at our seats a lady did eventually come and ask for our order. After about ten minutes the ceiling next to our table began to leak, and flood the surrounding floor. Obviously this was far from ideal, and we were assured that the leak was coming from a washing machine, and nothing else; the lack of concern about the leak was alarming and this should have been our exit out, however we asked to be moved which we were upstairs to a cold room but at least it was dry. The food did not arrive together, and took quite a while to manifest itself on our table, when it did it was not great at all. In fact the meat tasted very old and far from fresh, this was very disappointing as some of the accompaniments were OK but the meat was awful. By all accounts the fish was OK, but the following day myself and 2 others were quite ill and unable to go to work! All in all it was not a great experience and we were extremely disappointed by the lackluster attitude, and sloppiness of the food. I suggest that on the back of 3 of us being ill you should have a look at the meat you are serving, especially the pork as it just did not taste right.

Before I even go into detail about my experience. I think it's important to tell others that after visiting this place myself and 3 other members of my family have been seriously ill as an result of the food we ate here. I am disgusted by this place and the quality of food they served to people. I am of Ghanaian decent and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I think it is truly despicable that a place of business can charge people and serve them food that is clearly not fit for human consumption.I visited here on Thursday for a family birthday. Upon walking into the 'restaurant' I wanted to leave but unfortunately I didn't have that option- my family was waiting inside. The venue is terrible to put it nicely. After sitting down for a while we were suddenly greeted with water dripping from the toilet above onto our table. We were told it was 'the washing machine', and moved up stairs. Yes we should have left at this point. But due to how far we traveled and the fact it was my sister birthday we stayed. We ordered a variety of dishes. Which all arrived inconsistently- my main came once the rest of my family had finished. I don't eat meat (which saved me from serious illness) but a number of my family members noted that the meat tasted old. Nothing taste fresh, or authentic. Added to that some dishes came lukewarm. The kelewele (plantain dish) tasted like it was cooked previously and heated up in old oil. Seriously how can plantain not be fresh. Other than the amazing company of my family I really have nothing good to say about this place. But can maybe give them some credit for their fried yam. It saddens me on so many levels that I have to write such a bad review about a business. This place gives Ghanian food a bad reputation and does nothing to celebrate the delicious dishes we make. I can honestly say I this was the worst dining experience I have ever had.

What a nightmare!!! We were a group of 14 who booked six weeks in advance and then waited an hour for our food, with each of us being given food a different times. The person who ordered their food first waited two hours to be fed!Food tasted good but the management and waiting staff really didn't do much to get us fed! Appalling treatment from the management who offered firstly a refund to the lady who had been waiting and then money back in the form of vouchers. I booked the restaurant and was trying to liaise with the staff, in the end it took my partner and I to go downstairs to enable us to get anywhere. The manager went back on his word, gave half of us drinks (the rest had left as was now 10.45pm and friend hadn't bee served and they were embarrassed by the situation). The manager refused to give my friend that had been waiting for two hours her money back and kept saying it was none of my business and he'd give her a voucher when she left.My friend who waited two hours left the restaurant and never received a voucher or an apology from the manager or an explanation. I am so annoyed as I called the Thursday before the Saturday booking to confirm our reservation and the restaurant called me on the Saturday afternoon to re-confirm. They failed to seat us where we had discussed and were very vague about were we were to be seated. This restaurant is the Bazil Faulty of the London restaurant scene. They can't even be bothered to contact me to discuss the matter. Everyone was complaining who was being served and delays were really bad last Saturday.The plus side is the drinks are priced reasonably and they're open late on Fridays and Saturdays and have good DJ playing house and Rnb.Really was a terrible night, we had no time to dance as we sat upstairs waiting for people to be fed. We paid upfront for the food as a large group and so we couldn't walk out.

Came here for dinner with my partner on saturday. We ordered jollof rice with fish and I had chicken with rice and salad. I nearly bit my fingers off! Was so tasty! The waitress was very friendly and made us feel at home. She paid me lots of compliments which really made me feel good as I had had a terrible afternoon. The prices were very reasonable. I left a generous tip. Wasn't very packed though.. Wish there was more people.. Could have had a better atmosphere. I may celebrate my birthday here!

Gave it another try after it went completely downhill from grumpy waitress to food.Service was excellent a lovely sweet waitress, all our choices were tasty, really happy they got their act together.Will go again keep it up.

Good quality & portions of food. The bar & seating area downstairs is quite a warm environment & can liven up on weekends & bank holidays. The main restaurant bit upstairs is a bit bland & nothing to write home about. The service is always good & I've always found the staff friendly & approachable.

Shocking service by a very very moody depressed black haired woman, we were a party of 8 spending a lot of money, she was in a mood, most things were not on the menu, she said its was because it was a bank holiday...... Very Professional lol, I then asked about the chef cause I noticed a sign in the window, chef wanted, I asked has the food changed she said no, then she says the place had changed hands, the food came it was awful and portion smaller, what a shame I used to love this place, will never go back again. There is a brilliant Ghanaian resto in front of Peckham Garage go there instead and its cheaper, BTW... It's the first time in my life I have never left a tip.

I know quite a few people who have been to the Gold Coast restaurant and could not wait for my first experience. It was ok. There was a bar downstairs, music playing, people dancing and eating at tables with dimmed lighting that gave a rather warm atmosphere. It was full, though, so we were led upstairs, and what a difference. The room was brightly lit with just a few tables, no atmosphere at all, despite a celebration going on at the large table in the corner. Staff were polite and friendly and the Ghana food well prepared and tasty. Be warned, the pepper sauces are a little bit on the very hot side, but it's the lack of atmosphere upstairs that lets it down, in my opinion. I would go again for the food but would hope to sit downstairs.

I've tried African food a number of times, mainly in and around se london area, I'm English so in regards to home food I had never tried it before these restaurants, my precious experiences were bad, unfortunately this wasn't to change, upon entering I was greeted by what can only be looks of distaste and sneers, I am white but I don't think I should be made to feel unwelcome in any restaurant regardless of if it's a African setting and will attract most people with that heritage, I don't get that if I go to an Indian curry house or a Chinese noodle bar so why should I get that here? Downstairs is a bar lounge area, looked quiet authentic and interesting art pieces, we were ushered upstairs that's where the eating area is, we went up it reminded me of a block of flats, not at all ashetically pleasing, we were sat down the paint was stripped on some walls, we sat down at a hugely uncomfortable table and chairs, hard wood seats that if someone had a bad back would find unbearable, now I ordered fufu and what I think was a peanut soup I can't remember the exact item, now in other places I've constantly asked for just mear no bone and no ligament as I know this is fairly common place with this type of food, again my request wasn't granted they said they'd make sure nothing prior mentioned would be here but it was all there disgusting stretchy ligament and bone in my soup, the fu fu was nice but that's incredibly hard to get wrong, all in all a bad experience , bad atmosphere and again I still can't seem to find an authentic African dining experience that I've come away feeling good about

Love the Gold Coast great food yam balls fried fish and pepper soup. The staff are helpful and friendly. Celebrated many birthdays and special occasion there. A must if you want good Ghanian food.

Afrikanisches Essen ist recihhalitger als ich erwartet habe, es schauen einen sehr viele Fettaugen an, wenn man in die "Schafsuppe" schaut...Die Gewuerze sind allerdings sehr lecker und der Service ist wirklich sehr gastfreundlich und zuvorkommend, wie es dem Ruf vorauseilt.Der Hauswein ist nicht gerade zu empfehlen...Auf jeden Fall ein kleiner Trip nach Afrika in mitten Londons.
