Gokyuzu Walthamstow in Waltham Forest

Hi, I bought this dessert, Kunefe, today, and it was awful. I used to love it, but not anymore. They used to have the best one, but today was my last time buying from there. The cream cheese even tasted bitter. I’m never buying it from there again.

Ive been with my 12 members of Family & friends. Saddam is amazing guy, was very polite and gentle. He also help us pick the food as it was very first time. Thanks you for the best service and good quality food

The restaurant was very busy because the upstairs dining area was closed that night. This resulted in longer waits for tables and for food. However the waiters were friendly and accommodating. We got a full platter for 3-4 people (obviously eats are bigger than our belly)! This is well equipped to fill the hungry. It was packed with different meats, rice and we got multiple baskets of bread with dips.

Having visit the Chingford Gokyuzu multiple times, I had high hopes. However, I would not make the effort to visit this branch again. Overall: - Parking - inconvenient. You have to park in the 17 & central car park and walk through. Depending on the time you visit, you may need to walk all the way round to the front entrance if you finish you meal after 7pm. - Service - 3 or 4 staff members at any given time on the top floor with almost every table occupied with customers We had call staff over to; (1) take the order, (2) ask where the drinks were, (3) ask for bread and sauces. The mains then took an absolute age to arrive. Order thoughts: - Tastiest: free bread and meze salads, Muska Boregi - Enjoyed: as above - Did not enjoy: meat platter - not very flavorsome, lamb chops were quite tough Going forward, despite the added waiting time, I'd stick to the Chingford branch for quality of food, service, and car parking convenience. What an amazing place to spend time with your family

In general, they had delicious products and everything was very good in terms of service. I recommend it. I recommend the yoghurt leg soup.

Bit slow services but understandable because of was restaurant.

Over the years, Gokyuzu has become stingy with their portion sizes. The food tastes really good but I don’t think I’ll be going there anytime soon again. Recently, we ordered the platter for five people, which is more like a platter for three people. As it was busy, we decided to not to order more food as it will take a long time to arrive. When speaking to a staff member and letting him know this, he fat shamed my brother stating “Look at the size of him he can eat the platter to himself” and then proceeded to tell us to order another platter if we’re still hungry. We were unsatisfied. They should be more realistic with how many people the platter can feed considering various groups rather than it being labelled as something that could feed five small teenage girls. In the past their platters were reasonable sizes.

The food was decent, it was okay. Just a note that I’ve had a lot of kebabs in my life & for the price for the large Adnan Kebab plate was not worth for what I got. The supposedly “large” plate is literally a regular size of a kebab. Portion of rice is small & how it’s supposed to come with salad, they bring you one plate of salad to share with the table. Just disappointing for what we pay is not worth it.

I passed by this place many times, but now we finally tried it with my wife. That was a good decision!

Good place to dine for a dinner experience. Ordered an oreo milkshake which took decades to come and sauces were pretty hard to get on the plate quickly. We ordered a basket of bread at the start which was surprisingly more cold than warm. A starter came towards the end rather than at the start which is not great. Apart from that, this was a great place to eat and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food was delicious and very filling. Service was decent but could be better. Restaurant was crowded, which was expected on a Saturday night. Overall, this was kind of a good experience...

We came for Valentine’s day dinner here with our 6 years old child. Food was delicious, service friendly and place cozy! They gave us nice private table, not in a middle, so it let to feel comfy and relaxed. Thank you! Food here was always full of flavour and tasty! I used to go to Gokyuzu 3x times a month but after pandemic they more than double in prize and now I go every 2 months. Shame they using this tactic increasing prices a lot when competitors didn’t follow the same way. Lower the prices mate!

Food: Fantastic, Service: Fabulous, Place: Wow wonderful. It is amazing place to go for casual or big celebration. Have a lot space. Clean and polite staff. Private Parking. Excellent to have a breakfast, lunch or dinner. With family or friends. GOOD Atmosphere. Easy to order, because all plates is sensacional. I really recommend this place for everyone.

Our charity visited to have our favourite Corba, soup which comes with bread, olives and salad, it was delicious. Hopefully the price will stay under £10 so that people on a budget can still keep coming to enjoy their delicious soup. Fantastic customer service and very fast preparation of food. Always clean and professional. The complimentary Turkish tea a Turkish tradition was also tasty. Thank you :)

Seriously over priced....paying 4.50 for a small glass (250ml max) of soft drink is extortionate. Food was tasty but again really overpriced for Turkish food in Walthamstow. Portions were also very small for the price. Very clean though

Prices are getting too high, but everything else was great

Excellent for group parties. Children friendly. Delicious food, whether it's the starter or mains. Their kunafeh is just the best. Tried a couple of their locations and it's a hit every time.

Not the first Gokyüzü I have been too, I have previously visited the Green Lane restaurant but this was equally as nice if not a little more. I went with a group of friends and they weren’t disappointed either. Lots of care and attention from the staff and we didn’t feel rushed. Food was very good with generous portion sizes. Enjoyed our visit.

Seven of us had a wonderful meal yesterday. We had a wide selection of starters and mains, all very good with no complaints. Plus a few drinks, teas and coffees. The restaurant was very busy with a great atmosphere including a children's party. The best thing was being allowed to stay for ages during the quiet afternoon period so old friends could all catch up. I had kleftiko, a favourite of mine. It was delicious and very good value for money. I've eaten here before and will definitely return. The staff were friendly and professional. Thank you. The menu has a wide range of well-known Turkish food. Overall, an excellent experience.

Best place for a Christmas Day meal

I went to gokyuzu Walthamstow on wed at 20:00 I went in and ordered a chicken doner wrap and some rice and paid. I felt some difference in the price so within 1 minute of paying i went back to the same guy and told him that i wanted a wrap and rice and he said no i ordered a box which was a lie and he was very rude. I was waiting so long in the table and he brings the food in a takeaway box and i said i wanted to eat in, he said it was a different price and i was ready to pay but he never asked me in the first place. So to sum up He gave me a wrong order and he assumed i wanted to take away without asking me Very bad service i will never recommend anyone going here neither will I.

Never a disappointed, always goes down a treat. Catered for a team of 10 for Christmas Dinner and did not fail to be hospitable. Would always recommend and return myself. Great presentation and full of flavour.

Really delicious food with a good price! Had breakfast here and it was an absolutely huge platter which included both sweet and savoury! The staff was nice and welcoming, and the restaurant wasn’t too busy or noisy!

We visited the restaurant on 09/11/2024 The food was nice, but a bit salty. The staff were very friendly, quick service, i also want to mention that it would be nice knowing that after we spent so much for lunch, it would be nice if you guys propose tea and baklava. As usually all Turkish restaurant do!

Food is good but the service is terrible, completely messed up my order and then charged me for their mistake.

staff are rude with take aways and dont like requests

Food was delicious, excellent value for money and plenty of meat! Lovely flavour too. I wish we had a place like this near me in Manchester because I would visit it often.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't enjoy the food here. Usually the food is pretty good but for the price point it was not very great. We ordered 2 different mezze for starters, which was the only thing that was delicious. The samosa filled with cheese was yummy and the small platter with hummus and other varieties. The wings platter was horrid it was overcooked on the outside, making it hard and pink on the inside. The pide was okay, but they usually make it nicer. We ordered 2 starters, wings with rice, Pide chips for the kids and some drinks with 2 desserts and our bill was £150! absolutely extortionate, considering we didn't order much food. The cheesecake was horrid, tasted like fridge and old but the rice pudding was tasty. The only thing that was nice was the ambience and vibe. The customer service was great as the staff were very friendly. I do prefer the Walthamstow branch as I find the food a lot tastier + better than this one, which is on the A406.

Nice place for Turkish and Arabic tasty delights

The service did not match the quality of the restaurant. We had to chase up our order several times (at least 5 times), served the wrong items and were billed for them. Requested for a high chair four times and never got one. The food and the atmosphere were great but the service hammered the experience.

I went to Gokyuzu for the first time yesterday. As soon as we arrived we have been taken to the table and served hot freshly baked Turkish bread with complimentary dip. We order 5 starters for 4 ppl and 4 main courses, followed by desert. To be honest the starters would have been more than enough for me. Anyhow all the food was of really good quality, the meat was soft and juicy and the sides really tasty too. At the end of the meal we were offered a complimentary tea. The service was fantastic and all the waiters were friendly and polite. If I need to find something to complain about (and I am not) I would have preferred to see more Turkish desert on the menu instead of tiramisù and sticky toffee pudding although l like both of them.

Excellent selection of foods primarily Turkish. Well presented and cooked, friendly helpful staff. On the expensive side. Good toilets, wheelchair accessible. The friendliest most helpful service possible and the food just kept coming. Wonderful.

Staff were nice but wouldn’t say the service was particularly good. I reckon not enough staffing on Friday night.

From appetisers to desserts, this restaurant exceeded all our expectations! My friends and I especially enjoyed the appetisers, the variety of desserts, and the hand-churned ice cream! The Kunefe was a crowd-pleaser! Highly recommended! The service here is excellent. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The entire staff worked seamlessly together to create a seamless dining experience. We never had to ask anything twice! Overall, dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. Love this restaurant and keep coming back. Their food is always flavoursome. Decor is modern and stylish, the restaurant is very spacious. Toilets are clean. We had mixed cold meze and lamb kebab, as well as fried mushrooms. Everything was tasty and fresh.

There is only two word for this place 'THE BEST'. We ordered the jumbo platter and we struggled to finish it. The food was enough for 7 people. My brother came from abroad and his first time in Turkish cuisine, he licked his fingers afterword's. He loved it so much...the environment is perfect, EXCELLENT STAFF, what else? Just 100/100. Visited early evening on Monday. Service was terrible . Waited over half an hour for food after ordering. Staff looked as the priority was to serve the deliveries first (Deliveroo , Just eat etc ). When the food arrived it was excellent quality and big portions.. Also looked as if they they were short of serving staff compared to the number cooking for all, especially deliveries. Would return but hope service impoves otherwise next time will be our last visit. Gunes restaurant nearby is for me a better restaurant.

This is my go-to for Turkish food. Today I may have to look else where, why??, your portion of food has changed, I’ve always ordered the Large Lamb Chop meal x2 for me and my partner. The portion of rice, salad has always been generous but today not so much, the rice portion has been reduced by at least half but the price is the same!!….not a happy customer.

Amazing service from when we were first sat down. Jasim and huzaifa were especially brilliant with everything. He made us feel very comfortable and welcome at the restaurant. The other servers were also really helpful and welcoming. Will definitely visit again
