Giggling Squid - Hornchurch in Havering

Such a wonderful atmosphere and the best tasting Thai food I’ve eaten. Exemplary service and I highly recommend. I will definitely be visiting again!

On arrival we was offered a table in the middle of the restaurant, however they were happy to let us sit where we wanted. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and I loved the flowery benches (we we chose to sit!) Our server Alicia was lovely and patient. We were having a long overdue catch up with friends so as you can imagine deciding what to eat was taking its time. Alicia was very patient and happy at all times and made some good suggestions for food choices. I would definitely come back

We have been to many Giggling Squid resturant’s and sadly this is the worst meal we have had! Staff lovely and let down buy the food, we had a number of starters which were the best of the whole meal as the mains were all far below standards we are used to at the chain of restaurant’s. They also had run out of the wine of our choice, letting us know they had an open bottle if interested. Sorry to say we will not be coming back.

Great spot to have something to eat and drink without it feeling crowded. It does get full in there but it still feels spacious. Food is amazing decor it’s very bright and nice which complements the food in a few times and always leave feeling content

Worth a visit just for the squid. 4 adults enjoyed the squid starters but the noodle and curry mains weren’t all great. The real let down was the soft shell pranee prawns which were poor. I enjoyed my prawn green curry though. No draft beers, so id recommend the Cobra bottle.

Wow rarely are there times when I have gone to a resturant and they got it completely right. On Friday 22nd September evening they did. From the moment we stepped into the Hornchurch branch for the first time and we met three of the happiest and energetic front desk staff, we felt welcomed. Although, the venue was extremely busy we were seated at a table for four , even though we were a couple. Our waitress Alicia, was a lovely young lady who was both professional and helpful. She was also patient and willing to provide suggestions. There was no awkward hanging around the table as we ate and she was only to willing to help us. Please give her our thanks. I had the wings for a starter whilst my partner had the salt and pepper squid. Not only was the taste for both dishes flavourful, the different presentation of each was impressive. I had the chicken and prawns pad Thai which was packed with even more flavour. She had one of the signature dishes , honey crisp seafood. The dish was extremely large and those who like a hearty meal will not be disappointed. As a compliment to her fish dish, she chose the egg fried rice. The drinks and food menu had a massive choice. My partner had a metropolitan cocktail which she loved and kept commenting how strong it was as she happily sipped away. We shared a bottle of white wine which was reasonably priced and complimented our dishes. The decor of the building was vibrant and colourful. The table staff were diverse, smiling and efficient. There was always someone ready to remove our dishes once finished and it never felt rushed. There was no issue, when I asked for the main to be served 15 minutes after the starter. Whoever, trained these staff needs to be commended! The toilets cubicles were iimmaculate. There was an array of customers ranging from families, couples and groups. The nice thing about the venue was we were able to have a conversation without shouting or straining to hear each other. I would definitely revisit the resturant again.

Visited here impromptu. Decor was ok but felt it was lacking the wow factor even more so the way the food was served. Found the Feasting Set tasty but the chicken was sparce in the dishes. The Money Bags Tapas was delicious and chicken satay ok. First time trying the Lamb Massaman Curry and most definitely the last - not a fan of the taste but at least the meat was lovely and soft. Place was not very busy so expected the service to be better but at least food all came out at the same time.

Came for a family lunch , we all had different tapas set lunch . I went for the Hawker which is a new addition, mainly for the Tom Kha soup . This hasn’t been on the menu previously. Have to say compared to other versions I have tried this was a lot sweeter - it missed the hit of lemongrass and galangal. Apart for a slight disappointment in the soup the rest of the meal was fantastic. All plates were emptied and we would certainly come again .

We visited this place for the first time for dinner . The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. We ordered 2 sharing platters followed by mains . The food was very good , fresh and well presented. This restaurant was recommended by a friend who had eaten at one of the their London branches . We enjoyed the food and will definitely be eating here again

We were lucky enough to get a table on a Friday night, we hadn’t booked & it was fairly busy. Our waitress was very nice she also gave us some advice on food to order. The food here is very tasty and was well presented. Portion sizes are good, we ordered 4 dishes to share and there was plenty to go around. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.

Lovely lunch with friends! Staff were lovely and didn’t rush us. I had the veggie squid tapas and it was really nice, beautifully presented. Lots of vegan options and that is why we chose to come here. My friends who aren’t vegan enjoyed their food very much too.

For an indecisive family Jennifer was brilliant helping us choose our dishes! Amazing dishes, amazing food and an amazing atmosphere. This restaurant is highly recommended by us and we will defo be back!

Went for lunch, the food was really lovely. One of our drinks, a gin arrived and it looked like there was no gin compared to the other gin for the table, this was soon rectify. We had the tapas lunch, very very tasty and a great size for lunch. I had the one giggling squid yummy.

Food is lovely and drinks are lovely. Takes a long time to get served or to get the attention of waiters/hosts, even when the restaurant isn't busy.

Amazing!!! Food is absolutely fantastic and very flavoursome. The staff are knowledgeable when it comes to each dish and will guide you through. I didn’t feel at all rushed and even when there was a mistake, it was rectified without a hitch. Well done GS

Very noisy table of 8 sat behind us, not restaurants fault but took away for nice family experience when we couldn't hear eat each talk. Kids have been talking about coming here since we moved to area but we were (the adults were) overall disappointed....

Lovely food. Great vegetarian choices. Service was so slow, we had a babysitter for 3 hours but ended up cancelling out dessert as had to get back which is disappointing. Bit of a let down as a rare night out. 😞

Absolutely lovely food, with large portions, in a beautifully-decorated dining area. Staff were wonderful, especially our waitress Nok who was always attentive and friendly. Cocktails were fab as well, especially the spiced colada and Eastern Fusion, will definitely be back!
