Gia Hua Chinese Takeaway in East Riding of Yorkshire

Been a long time since we used Gia Hua take away, we certainly won’t be going back. There is nothing good to say about the food, very oily, full of bean sprouts, stodgy, even noodles over cooked. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately this was probably the worst take away Chinese meals I've ever had. The spring rolls were reasonable but the crispy chilli beef was awful, no flavour, watery, peppers used tasted old, hardly and beef and the beef that was there was tasteless and chewy. The mushrooms too were tasteless and overcooked. Not a good experience at all. Such a shame as used to be great

Chinese Take away, Not the best food or the best price, If the other one at the station hade been open (Monday Night) we would have gone there, Far better food by a mile.

Chicken not cooked .was like jelly . Rubbery .really expensive. And unedited. This place gets worse and worse Staff not friendly either

Terrible quality, nothing like it used to be. Zero flavour or care, the rice is like a solid mass, no grains of rice. We’ve gone here for 16 + years tried 3 times this last few months. But no longer now. Awful

Worst meal we have ever had. The chicken chowmein was so salty we couldn't eat it. The special fried rice consisted of alot of rice, a few peas and a couple of prawns. No meat. A waste of £21 wouldn't be using them again.

haven't been foe a while as the last time the food was so bad, but gave it 1 more try which was even worse all we ordered was a load of KAK and a lot of it

We get take away here fairly regularly and enjoy our meals Friendly and quick service our favourites are chicken chow Mein and special foo yung.

Ordered takeaway sweet and sour chicken with special rice opting for Hong Kong style. Portion size large but the chicken was thin strips of chewy and inedible in an average sauce with lots of filler. It was so bad we called to mention the chicken and were told this is Cantonese chicken and some people prefer the texture. Not for us and giving it a swerve going forward.

Best Chinese Takeaway in the area lovely freshly cooked food big portions and well worth the money. Family run business that always serves fab Chinese food

Alwsys use the Chinese Takeaway. Food is very good and service is excellent. You will have to go along way to find a better Chinese takeaway than Gia Hua

The food from here is normally OK: the usual sugary, anglicised fare I expect from a takeaway. But, my last order (and I mean last), was truly awful. Why don't you offer a few authentic Chinese choices?

There were so many things wrong with this food it's just not possible to write them all down. Highlights were beef in black bean sauce which was impossible to chew through, cold curry sauce, tough and dry chicken satay sticks, salt and pepper spare ribs that were 90% fat and gristle, chewy chicken and chow mein which was more like cabbage and carrot stew. This as a treat for my son's birthday. The last time I was forced to go to Gia Hua they 'forgot' to include two of the dishes, which I've since heard is a common device of theirs. I sincerely suggest you don't go here.

These guys sweet and sour balls are truly lickable! Massive portions and tasty to boot. Would certainly visit again if I’m in the area.

Used this place for almost 20 years. Same great quality and prices not increased as much as other take aways in the area. Starter for 2 a bit pricey for what you get but apart from that everything always spot on.

Friendly staff, decent prices and food is generally very good. A little disappointed with the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style recently due to lack of chicken but everything else is always very good!

I loved this place. Then they introduced this ridiculous £10 minimum card spend, which is absolutely stupid. And when I said I won't bother, they really didn't care. Loyalty means nothing these days.

If you want a good Chinese takeaway in Brough go to Station Supper! It is by far the superior Chinese! Some of Gia Hua mains are ok at best but any place that can't even do the basics right isn't great is it? The Chips are usually soggy and pale, disgusting and the fried rice is always claggy and tasteless! Every time I decide to give it another go I'm dissapointed. Well that's the last time!

I have used this takeaway numerous times because it is convenient. The service is very good but the food is average at best. My example is the special fried rice. No king prawns, and the meets is just small bits mixed into the rice.

Never had an issue ordering food from here, its always fresh & well prepared. Friendly staff cant fault it.

Lovely as always, very tasty and quick service. Ordered over the phone and picked up and was ready by the time I got there, 10 minutes away. The only thing I would say is if Gia Hua did delivery I would order more often l but I guess their food is so good they don't need to

Second time I tried this place and was great as the first, Singapore fried rice, crispy shredded beef are the best I've had from a takeaway, shredded beef is a must from any Chinese for me. Spot on.

try and get the before 6pm deal and we get 2 chicken satays and boiled rice for less than £9 - fantastic. when i tell everyone at work they can't believe you can get a Chinese takeaway for that, and the food is as the title says

This is the best Chinese in Brough, but never ring in your order, just turn up as you will get your food very quickly. Friendly staff and great tasting food.

Always good food. Never had a problem. Always very popular and full. Good service and always friendly. Only downside is that they sometimes change the way they cook chips but that about it. Also ones they forgot half my order but the man came running after me and gave me some free stuff to go along with ti as a way of saying sorry.

This place is always very busy so it's not just us that likes it. You can see the food prep area so we know it's cooked fresh and it's kept clean. Great Chinese takeaway food, although does tend to come a little spicy, so tell them if you don't want it spicy at all. They'll also add more spice if that's your thing, just ask. Usually get given free prawn crackers as well. Easy parking outside and there's another public car park next door if Gia Hua one is full. Also good fish and chips and pizza places almost next door, so if there's a family dispute over what to eat, everyone can be happy.

Excellent Chinese takeaway with a massive range across all of our favourites. Always well cooked with massive portions and all at fair prices we are never disappointed and it's always busy which shows how good it is

Had a chinese takeaway who visit Gia Hua all the time they fancy a chinese. We gave it a try would give it 5*. Very tasty food. Chicken fried rice is lovely and light also the sweet and sour chicken balls are good. Excellent that you get choice of curry sauce too. Generous portion sizes. Very well cooked. Will definetly be visiting again. Reasonable priced for a chinese too .

Usually use Gia Hua once a week or fortnight. Always great food and really good and happy service. Everyone can have a bad day so wouldn't read too much into the rare bad reviews. Have tried a lot of things on the menu and me and the family really enjoy it.

This is a great Chinese takeaway their fried rice is particularly good, they have a good selection of dishes at reasonable prices . It can get very busy so it pays to ring your order through especially if it is a large order.

This takeaway is not as good as other reviews suggest, yes the portion sizes are big but the bulk of that in a lot of the food is beansprouts. I had battered sweet and sour chicken, but they were enormous which was mostly overcooked batter and undercooked chicken. I called to complain and was abruptly told 'We'll look into it. Thanks.' The noodles were greasy and later on both my boyfriend and I had upset stomachs. We will definitely not be returning.

Always excellent food served here. My daughter loves the Szechuan Bean Curd dish. Great options for vegetarians wanting protein with the bean curd dishes. All staff are so polite and welcoming. They really have clearly worked hard to build up such a great Take-away restaurant a really nice family they are!!!

This Chinese is the best, have tried quite a few over the years, but none compare to this. We always have the mixed starter with another couple of dishes. We usually ring up and then travel down in 20 minutes to pick up. Good value for money always and between 5 and 6 they do some specials.

Me and my wife always eat from this Chinese, we have never been let down by it. You can always rely on good quality food at a decent price. The best Chinese take away around!

I live in Hull but work in Welton. I am more than happy to travel to this Chinese takeaway as the food is always delicious and I love that they know you when you walk in.

I had a quarter aromatic duck. Unfortunately after eating it I had a severe case of diarrhoea and sickness. Looking back, the duck was quite dry, so I think it was a reheating problem maybe. Anyway, I shall not return

Will never eat here again unfortunately my husband and I were nearly hospitalized with food poisoning we believe from the Prawn Toast received from hereEnvironmental Health were contacted and made a spot check which was "successful" I.e actions were madeJust hope they have made significant changes to their food storage and hygiene but I won't risk it again

Always get the same Chicken Skewers, Singapore Fried Rice Chicken only, Chips and Prawn Crackers & Curry sauce. Never left disappointed. Very friendly service food usually on time for me an all, sometimes a five minute extra wait but that's no bother mush. Would definitely recommend I go at least once a week wouldn't use anywhere else. Nah mean!

This Chinese take away has come a long way since I last used it. The chips now taste like proper chinese chips which are cooked in peanut oil, where they never used to be. The chicken fried rice is OK, however there are better chinese take aways that do fried rice better. Overall they are pretty good at what they do and I would use again, however, there are other choices that are just as good. Not a stand out choice but OK.

I am not usually a huge fan of Chinese takeaways but this food was delicious! We shared the sharing starter for two which included proper size prawn toast,Won tons, sea weed and spring rolls- again all were huge, only problem I was full before having the main course. The main dishes were also delicious particularly the Malay chicken satay- much hotter than a normal satay and tastier. For a Saturday evening the service was very speedy- 20 mins from when we called it was ready! The staff were very efficient. We will definitely use gia hua again!

We go to Gia Hua quite a lot. The food is good and the portion sizes are huge! Chips are by far the best Chinese chips I've had. The only thing letting it down is how long you have to wait. Every time we ring to pre order they tell us 30 minutes and we get there and they only just start cooking it so you have to wait another 30 minutes!!! Very annoying!

This evening I visited Gia Hua for a takeaway. As before, I ordered, and collected within 30 mins. I ordered a meal for 4 persons including Starter for 2, Seaweed and absolutely gorgeous Capital Spare Ribs.I personally then had Crispy Special which I don't think I have had before, but was amazing. This takeaway never fails, the service is excellent, the guy (I presume to be Gia Hua) is excellent in his customer service and the food is some of the best Chinese I have ever had, bearing in mind I have visited Asia over 20 times.Well done Gia Hua, the best Chinese Takeaway.

My dad and I use this take away every week, driving past another to get there. Good quality, great portions, quick polite service

We don't go that often but have always found our takeaway meals very tasty and good sized portions. The staff are always friendly. It is the only takeaway we use as it is consistently good.

I use this takeaway at least once a fortnight and thought its about time I wrote a review about it, as I usually only write reviews good or bad about restaurants, not takeaways.However, as I have written on previous reviews, I have visited Asia many many times, so i have had my fair share of Chinese food..This takeaway for me, is excellent. The food is always very well cooked, and although I haven't counted, probably had about 40-50 takeaways from here over the last few years, and not once was I disappointed.There have been some reviews on here that you have to wait a while once you arrive, ok may be that is a little annoying, I agree, however it may also be an indication that it is very busy, and the reason, it sells excellent Chinese food, so for me it's well worth the extra 10mins wait.Well done Gia Hua, excellent food and the Chinese guy (presume he must be called Gia Hua), always service with a smile, and when you visit particularly on a Saturday evening, his work rate is amazing.....Thank you again for serving me and many many other people (judging by the amount of customers compared to other takeaways in Brough) with wonderful Chinese food....always!

i ordered the crispy beef cantonese style, it was very tasty but extremey salty, and left me really thirsty, ordered food and gentleman quite abrupt on the phone, possibly due to it being a saturdsy night and busy. but manners go along way. overall ok and will continue using

It really annoys me that each of the 4 times i have pre-ordered food over the phone they have said collect in 30 mins but when you get their you wait for another 20 mins for the food! Why have pre-order and why lie about the time your food will be ready?Apart from that the food is typical takeaway grub. Not good not bad but fills a gap.

Having lived in Brough for over 15 years we regularly use Gia Hua - well not anymore!!! After being away for a week we though it would be a lovely idea to have a family Chinese to end the holiday.. big mistake. Duck was burnt along with egg friend rice, Cucumber was a mushy watery mess at the bottom of the polystyrene bowl. The prawn toast had a funny taste to it whilst also being extremely hard! We called to complain to Gia Hua to be told "well, what do you want us to do about it" no apologies or please come back in and we will replace or have your money back. The manager was supposed to be calling back but never did! We will definitely be using Station house in future.

By far the best chinese for me.Very tasty and lots of it.Always a friendly service and if its not on the menu they will do their best to please.They do a dry fried noodle with chinese roast pork, no veg, no sauce which my daughter loves.
