GG'S Caribbean Takeaway in Manchester

Ordered 6 items got one the rest wasn't with order the one item had been cooked god knows when and took out the freezer n left to defrost and was still frozen I rang n was told it is what it is never again will I order from here avoid at all cost

We won’t be ordering from here again. Well overpriced for what you get. Prices have shot right up. You can’t even order half rice half chips anymore unless you pay extra. The food was absolutely freezing and poor. This used to be the best Caribbean takeaway but now it’s gone right down hill. Shocking!!

Just a bit cold & missing veg but ok

Was amazing only thing I can say is I would of liked some jerk gravy to go over the rice. Other than that was ten out of ten. Thankyou ggs

Food was over 45 mins late and cold I am not one to complain but this has happened on multiple occasions and when I’ve tried get a refund or explanation just refused. Shame as the food is good

Filthy inside surprised its got any stars for hygiene. Risk at your own peril must say the food was ok last time but after seeing the state of the place inside. I wouldn't eat there

First time having Jamaican, really tasty and flavourful will definitely have it again! Although slight criticism, we ordered the dishes to come with veg but it didn’t come with any

Running a restaurant is hard, knowing our strengths and weaknesses is key. Hence why, I don’t recommend you to run collections/deliveries order because of the service offered. Waiting 2 hours and 15 mins for food is unacceptable.

Food taste is amazing as always , just took too long to get here and was freezing cold so had to reheat

Great food, better Jamaican takeaway in Manchester and the food is always tasty.

Food was very flavoursome however, it was STONE COLD. I was in disbelief at how cold the mac and cheese was. I actually phoned the store to find out why and he informed me that customers are expected to warm up the mac and cheese. Yes, the whole purpose of ordering and paying high prices for food to be delivered is because it is expected to be cooked. I’m very disappointed. I will definitely not be ordering from here again.

I never leave bad reviews or complain I usually just move Onto the next place but I need to with this place for a number of reasons, firstly the big guy there is really ignorant, he either hates his job or hates people in general. Secondly I suspect he makes the prices up, (especially if you’re an average white guy), he’s took the price menu down so you can’t even check anything, the prices have gone ridiculous, thirdly don’t touch the Oxtail if do happen to go in, it consists of huge pieces of bone with what can only be described as meat skin on them, I basically ended up with oxtail juice and rice, there was honestly no meat in the tray, the huge pieces of bone took up all the room, I don’t know if it was served like that purposely or that’s how it usually comes but I’ve never seen anything like it, no meat whatsoever, all for about 17 quid if you want a can of coke too. 17 quid for a my dinner and was still hungry after it. Joke of a place. And if you happen to walk in when there’s someone else in-front of you take a kip in the corner and tell him to wake you up when he’s done serving Jesus Christ. Possibly the worst take out experience I’ve ever had.

Awful restaurant. Do NOT order online you’ll be waiting a minimum of 2 hours. Paid for large curry goat basically got 1000 bones and minimal amount of curry. Paid for Mac and cheese which they did not have so they threw in two wings which do not mount up to the value of the Mac and cheese. Chicken split also had a bone in it which my partner nearly choked on. Avoid this place stop putting money into their establishment

Have you waiting almost 3 hours then phone to say they miss placed my order so it will take another 45min for one curry goat an chicken split absolute joke they have ran this place to the ground since taking over never again going here

Delivery was late..food was barely warm..chicken wings were plain wings not jerk wings..the jerk meal there was no veg yet I called them over the phone first before I ordered and specifically asked for steamed vegetables..on tasting the food it was bland hardly any spice or flavour..the gravy tasted like it was full of sugar..the jerk chicken tasted of metal from what ever the chicken is cooked on..the chips looked like they were anemic and soggy..the pattie was dry and flavourless..some people may like the food but I won’t be ordering again that is safe to say and the only reason I ordered was because PEPPERS IS CLOSED IN NEWTON HEATH

The food was disgusting, I ordered oxtail but got beef stew with rice and peas, also Snapper fish which I received Salmon. Absolutely disgusting and Disappointing!

We ordered 3 curry goats with rice. By the looks of what we got, they thought we wanted curry bone and rice. We have a full deconstructed goat skeleton in our bin and we’re alll very hungry despite spending £40+ on food. Staff huffed at us when asking for forks/drinks. Not impressed

Food soooo nice. And not too expensive we had chicken splits and oxtail peas rice and steam veg. 100%

Said the order had been delivered on the website (it hadn't) got no answer when ringing up the following hour resulting in me requesting a refund, ordering from somewhere else, just for it to show up after paying for another order.

First time eating from here and the food is absolutely amazing can’t fault it

My sauce on oxtail had leaked out of the unusal tray. I asked for large not the normal and the sauce that i had added on notes on 'notes' was bbq. Normally spot on here but dissapointed tonight as dry small food with bbq sauce that doesnt go with ox.

Jerk chicken was good. Gravy nice. Veg hardly any in the dish. Plantain and rice & peas dry. Not bad but had much better elsewhere.

Restaurant cancelled my order within 5 mins after accepting, reporting to Uber that I’d “called and cancelled the order” in order to be able to still charge. Was able to contact Uber and provide phone logs that this was not the case but a clear deliberate attempt at scamming!

Had GG's numerous times over the years and the only reason I go back is because of the food. The shop is dirty and falling apart. The prices have gone far too high now and the service every time is dreadful. The taller male there is most probably the rudest person I've ever seen. Seems to hate his job but has worked there years. The last time I was in, he served someone ahead of me (I think I know why....). Final straw this time I won't be back.

Ordered food today. Never been delivered. Ordered at 20:00 & it’s now 22:02. Lady who picked up the call said driver is 5 mins away when really and truly the address is down the road. Surely it’s not gonna take 2 hours to delivery food that’s 5 min drive😕. Never been so disappointed in this establishment won’t not recommend.

Came with not the right meal, the delivery driver just didn’t even explain and drove off. Women on phone was very helpful and helped me a lot.

Food is nice but the young girl behind the counter as a attitude problem like her mother who used to suck her teeth at the customers, not seen the mother for abit she was a nasty woman, went in today and the young girl speaks to a male staff member absolutely disgusting calling him death cos he walked past the Uber eats machine when it was beeping, if I was him I’d tell her to stick her manky job where the sun don’t shine, plenty more jobs out there

Food was oily, I’ve been trying get through to someone but to no avail, I still have the food in the fridge as I believe I should be refunded for such terrible meal delivered to me. I also have pictures and videos of the rice swimming in oil

wasn't happy this time round I added a note to ask keep the rice dry from the chicken curry yes they did that but there was no curry just pieces of chicken and the portion wasn't great for a large meal sorry
