Wandering aimlessly and found this hidden gem, large varied menu but Italian in focus and direction. Sizable portions, amiable staff, reasonably priced. Eat in or take out. I thing fancy about the the place but for good wholesome well prepared food, it 8s a winner. Large variety of salads, both with meat and or cheese or without both. Lasagna I had was as good as it gets, almost. You have to look for it halfway down Crown Passage. Close to Berry Bros. Shoppe.

Portions have always been very very small. And this has getting worse lately. Today it was so ridiculously small that I went to ask whether it was actually a small or normal portion. Just to them a chance. They looked at it and considered it was a normal portion. They could have decided to be customer oriented and give me a tiny bit more to make me happy. And decided not to. Well they’ve just lost one regular customer. And two others who I get lunch with.

Situated in a quiet backwater of a very expensive part of London this cafe is an unexpected finding and a haven to rest from the tiring streets. There is wide range salads on display and also Focaccia offerings. Maybe the paying system is a little overcomplicated and you have to be careful not to break the plastic knives on your food. I did not notice any rudeness or have to wait to be served. The salad was very good with the savoury Focaccia being typically Italian and tasty. So at around £10 for a very light lunch serving 2 this represents good value.

Unbelievable how rude these people are. Their queuing system makes no sense, they charge a lot for what it is. People only go there because options are so limited and after my experience with the rudest waitress there today I will never be going back. The service is truly disgusting, so disappointing.

I've been going to this place regularly for years for lunch as I work around the corner. The service has always been bordering on rude with a very complicated queueing system, but I have put up with it. However, now the standard of the food has dropped significantly. I recently vouched for the mushroom and spinach pasta, which sounds lovely and I've had it before. Well, the pasta was very al-dente, and the sauce almost non-existent. If you scraped it all together, I doubt whether it would have made up one baby spinach leaf and half a mushroom. The whole thing was completely dry and inedible. At the prices they are charging it is a total rip off.

I had been to my office in St James's and really wanted a quick healthy meal as opposed to a sandwich. I meandered down Crown Passage which runs from King Street (where Christie's is) to Pall Mall and headed here. I chose a chicken breast with spinach, green beans and carrots - there were potato options too. It is mainly used by office workers, but there are a few tables. You order your meal, are given a slip of paper and told to head to the till to pay. The meal then arrived on a tray with a drink - I opted as usual for tap water. OK, it is served on a paper plate and the cutlery and beaker is plastic and as 'à la Macdonalds', you have to tip the contents of the tray in the trash bin - but for a bill of £7.90 I can do that!!

We loved this little gem. It's easy to get swept into over priced and under whelming chains in central London at lunch so this place was really refreshing. My partner is Italian and loved the pasta- it was really good! I had a vegetable panini which was equally nice. Will defo go back. Also, lots of seats available as it's clearly a place for city workers to grab a take out rather than sit and enjoy.

this place is quite local to my office so I've been there a few times but after my last visit I'm definitely not going back again. There's a young Italian girl who's constantly rude to customers and always miserable. She has been there for quite some time and I believe she's a manager or assistant manager which makes her behaviour even more unacceptable. This alone is a good enough reason not to bother with this place and to top that, the food is not very good either

Popped in for a girly catch-up with friends. Appreciate it as mid-afternoon however I don't expect the cake to taste as though it's been out on display for several days. Very dry, crusty and in desperate need of some buttercream icing to make it palatable. Canned drinks were also on the lukewarm side, despite being picked out of the chiller cabinet. Reasonably priced for the area, but quality definitely let it down.

I have visited this place on many occasions and although the food is nice, the service from some of staff is what really lets this place down. Two women who have been working there for a long time are consistently miserable and rude towards customers. It is not the customers fault if you have mixed up orders and as a result stressed out.

While I like the food (I have tried good chicken Milanese and risotto), the menu seems to be perfectly engineered to extract the most of your money (not sure who the owners are). For example, staff are instructed not to serve more than "half a spoon" of grated cheese over the risotto - don't ask for more on your risotto because you will not get it. For an extra portion of grated cheese (the size of half an espresso coffee cup) pay an extra 30p. Very nice olive bread but sold for £2.50 which is a lot for bread even if with lots of olives. So I may go back but I will keep thinking what else they will want to charge me for! Expensive in the end for what it can be no more than a quick lunch so will keep looking around in the neighbourhood.

So my friends told me about this traditional Italian deli on Crown Passage by Green Park. It was impressed after having lunch here. It was quick, inexpensive, fresh and delicious. We all had something different so we could try each. The chicken Milanese was perfection and for only £7 with a side too. But everything was so fresh. Each day they have a different salad, pasta and soup and there usual menu on top, selection of sandwiches which are all made with fresh ingredients. I would definitely recommend if in the city.

I went there yesterday during my last day of holiday in London. Thanks God we found this place! We are Italians and it was sooooooo difficult to find REAL Italian food here (I mean, not being ridiculously expensive). Prices are nice, staff is even more nice (all of them being Italians they speak Italian but also English) and food is delicious. Pasta was well cooked and so the focaccia, the typical type of bread which gave the name. I give some +++ for the coffee: excellent! Definitely recommend to give it a try.

I regularly eat at the branch in Ludgate Hill - great, tasty food but can the managers please teach their workers basic ENGLISH!? The lack of understanding is an absolute joke, they hire people who can barely string a sentence together. Today I ordered a pasta, the man behind the counter could not understand the phrase "take out" and tried to serve me on a plate. He did not understand me when I asked clearly for the extra side of potato and green beans, which I did not realise when I got back to the office & saw that there was no extra on my pasta. I speak English VERY clearly, am completely fluently and speak slowly but still, they struggle! It is beyond a joke now, it makes ordering food very difficult and painstakingly slow. I understand that it is more authentic to hire Italians and perhaps they are cheaper to hire (let's be honest) but people in the City don't have time for slow service. Management, sort it out asap. Give them a list of common phrases, including Take Out, Take Away, Food To Go etc...

Popped in for a coffee and a sandwich or roll. Maybe they just serve pasta at lunchtime and mid-morning was the wrong time to go. They were open but did not have much food! Toast with jam, peanut butter and marmite I think and some pastries. Asked for coffee and a surly guy slopped two cups down. He noticed the spillage into the saucers but happily left it there and wandered off. I think the play on words for their name (silly and naughty like French Connection) says it all. Was a bit bemused and unhappy. Would not go again as there are choices around with staff who care and have some grub available too! Could not score on the food as did not see any and it might be OK when it's been boiled - so not fair to judge. Atmosphere gets average although the place looks quite nice the service did not help the atmosphere!
