German Doner Kebab in Glasgow City

Kebabs here are great but inconsistent. A lot of the time even if you eat in the place the food is not hot so forget about getting it delivered to your house. Taste is very good but there is a major issue with portion sizing. Sometimes get a decent size meal or sometimes get just a couple little bits of meat and it’s just full of salad. If the staff in the restaurant can’t be trained to do by eye good and consistent portion sizing then maybe it would be a better idea to go by weight instead.

Service was a little slow as it was busy. Frank was very polite and checked our food was OK. Portions were really good.

Very good and tasty food, unfortunately our order was missed and had to wait 40 minutes to finally get served. Ordered extra portion of meat and had barely any meet inside. The last before visit we got served, everything was cold. The staff needs to get proper training and understand the portion sizes… I have visited GDK restaurants in Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow, by far Edinburgh had the best service and portions were great, and this restaurant in Glasgow must be the worst. GDK kebabs are the best and most accurate to what you get served in Germany/Poland if you have ever tried. Definitely worth trying out if your looking for similar taste.

fresh, delicious food. Sauces are included separately in the kebab box, for example. Hot sauce is really hot, lots of garlic. prices are okay.

90 minutes for delivery, food arrived soggy and was absolutely disgusting. They had tried to keep at warm at the shop by putting it in an oven... Salad and sauce in an oven... Deleted my deliveroo account, wont be using them again.

£12 for a kebab with 3 slices of meat. Absolute rip off. Don’t go here if you want something to fill you up…..it ain’t gonnae happen….. Small portions with zero flavours. Spend your money elsewhere in Glasgow as there’s far far better places to eat. Edit- GDK contacted me and offered me a 25% off voucher. This wasn’t my intention at all, so I have refused it as I give these reviews on honest experiences rather than for gain.

Hi I came in for a spicy chicken pizza n chips n the driver took me to tye vape shop u didn't give me my bottle of coke

I had a takeaway from GDK at Renfield street. The server was rude. I had a voucher which is supposed to make my meal free of cost however the server was impolite and demanded for 60p extra for the curry spice which I requested to add in my wrap. I was ok to pay that small amount but the server said he needs it to be in cash because they were closing. I didn't have 60p cash, I had to ask him to remove the curry spice. I have dined in Manchester Oxford road and fallow field with the voucher and never paid a single penny for extra spice. The meal overall was average nothing interesting just come here till I use my voucher. Don't recommend anyone to try GDk. Small corner shops will great you and welcome you when they serve you food.

No idea where the 5 star reviews come from on Google. Went there with friends for first time last night to try it after night out and it was nothing more than a silly tourist trap. Paid £11.00 for doner and chips and was served a half filled carton with 15 small skinny chips and a few thin slices of doner meat. We all laughed at such nonsense and I was still hungry after I finished. Oh come on German Doner kebab, stop ripping people off and give people value for money. Avoid this place at all costs and go to KFC or something; at least you won't feel like a sucker afterwards.

I ask the staff if the food was spicy and I think there just saying something what will sell. The döner kebab what I order besides my fries where really spicy. I didn't asked for that and it was too much for me. I need to pick my order by the panel and send me to table 32. When I was sitting there(downstairs) they ask me to leave because it was closed. So I asked if they serve me the dish upstairs. She start staring at me and I leave my bill on the desk. Later on they serve it after 15 minutes...

Slow service despite being quiet - ran out of chicken - small portions for the price

Overall quite OK. Unfortunately, this Ottoman travel bag is not made according to German standards like ours, and unfortunately there is far too little sauce and one star is deducted. Unfortunately, a star has to be deducted here because there was no Turkish Sprite available, but there is still a plus point: drinking yoghurt!

Had to wait 25 mins for a single kebab, but the place was pretty busy so I can imagine on normal days it would be better, the actual kabab is very mid, not really much to say about it other than when it says it comes with tomatoes, it comes with a singular tomato slice (other people got the same so it doesn't seem like a one off). We witnessed the manager straight up shout at employees in a derogatory way and that kind of ruined the whole meal, and really the main reason I'm writing this review, Unless managing staff changes, not worth your time or money.

The food was absolute trash, the chips were soggy, the onion wasn't cooked properly or crispy it was horrible and the chicken was fatty and bits were crispy/burnt paid £30 for 2 boss boxes and I couldn't even eat it the food was that bad.

The food was excellent and the the service too. I tried the panini with chicken it was very, beef quesadillas was the choice of my spice loving companion, worth the money, I had chips with garlic sauce, he had cheesy chips both lovely.

Terrible experience, and no customer service from them. Ordered through the Uber app, waited quite a lot of time for the food to be prepared, then got a message the delivery person got my food and was en route... And a few seconds later... cancellation...no explanation except from being unable to deliver, end of the story.

So I have finally confirmed that I have been cheated 3 times in this store, when ever I order extra mix in my kebab rap, I get same as mix, I complained before but because I didn't have my receipt anymore nothing was done, so I decided to order extra mix then came back and bought just mix and guess what, they are thesame.i am so disappointed, this is so unfair.

For a kebab late night restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. The doner kebab came out quickly, was well made, and had great flavor. They have the process dialed in, the only downfall is that it is a bot more expensive than the smaller, local shops. But I think it tasted better.

This is a store that scams customers' money. I ordered food here on June 6, 2024. with my bank card. I only ordered one dish but my bank card was deducted twice and this was due to the sales staff's error. I asked the sales staff and manager there and they said my money would be refunded within 24 to 48 hours. But now it's been almost a week and I still haven't received that money. I feel so embarrassed for the people working there. They have made customers lose trust in them.

Enjoyed the OG Doner. Fries were a little too small and overall felt the meal to be a little pricey.

Food was nice, waited a long time but was a Saturday night, could do with more meat for the price you pay.

First visit to GDK and the initial impression was what have I done?". Girl on the counter thought I was old and stupid. Possibly true. She just gestured at the auto kiosk. Old and stupid maybe but I quickly mastered the kiosk and placed my order. While waiting for the food to arrive I looked around and the furniture, the clientel, the ambiance were just like any other fast food outlet. SHAME. Food arrived and while the kebab was possibly the best I've ever had the chips were truly awful as was the sauce that came with the meal in a little prepacked pot. Won't bother with those next time ...... yes there will be a next time but not for a while.

careless staff. never in my life have I witnessed staff being so careless. literally concentrating on the songs being played on the radio and clapping their hands and doing weird dance moves. that's all OK because they were very quite. you would think that there's 6 of them at night , only one order (my order), you would think, it'll be just perfect or at least, close to perfect, but no. I witnessed the girl behind the glass screen, emptying chilli cheese bites from one container to another, it alarmed me at first, but didn't think much of it, also, there was doner meat lying on the machine which looked from a distance very dry which i ended up getting on my kebab, i asked for fetta in my order and i seen the guy making my kebab not putting it in and after my bag was "sealed" i requested that my kebab was double checked if it had fetta or not, and it didn't. now, the same lady that prepared my cheese bites in the most mysterious way was the one who "fixed" my kebab and she put fetta but she put LOADS of eat it made the kebab literally inedible. was hoping a place like gdk would have quality assurance in place but NO, it's a MYTH. I swear the local kebab shops aren't only nicer, but they are cleaner and much more aware about food and hygiene. GDK is just a marketing MYTH, your product is very bad and your operation is very weak

Attend here and was told to use the contactless machine to order my food After I had paid for it I waited ten minutes for then to tell me that they ran out of beef for the kebabs think this shocking letting customer pay for food then wait ten minutes to say they have ran out your computer system should be able to put this as out of stock so I asked for a refund and the girl behind the counter wasn't very happy with me asking for a refund

Attended and ordered the box meal which came with a soda on the order screen. When it came time to pick the soda; the screen would not allow you to pick a can soda (stated unavailable) but wanted you to pay an extra 50p for a bottle soda. Didn’t seem right as the meal came with a soda; why would you pay extra. Spoke with the clerk who advises that they don’t have can sodas as they have been trying to deplete their stock and it will be restocked tomorrow, but I could pay the extra 50p for a bottle soda. Tried to explain that my box meal comes with a soda why would I have to pay for a bottle soda; they should substitute or lower the cost of the meal as they don’t have the complete meal offered. Couldn’t do that was the response; asked for the manager and was advised that there was none. Still couldn’t explain that that makes no sense. Finally; someone stepped in and said it was ok to substitute the bottle soda; possibly the manager who was at a dine in table working. Long way to go for common sense; don’t have the advertised product; replace with something else or deduct from price; not expect people to pay for nothing and then up sell them. After spending 24 pounds the Food was just OK; not very flavourful. Situation was very disgraceful on the part of the business. Would not attend again.

Avoid. Treat your customers with contempt and don't be surprised to receive a negative review. I've served better quality food to my dog! Absolute muck. The doner box ½ full. Staff insist on pointing you to order using ineffective automated system; whilst they lean on the counter doing nothing. Paid extra, 59p for jalapeños and got 4 slices. Barely resembled a doner kebab.

What a brillant concept. Ì always tried doner kebabs in every country i travel to. This place is a step above. The beef was finely shaved and tasted ever so fresh. No aftertaste of shabby meat byproducts. Tried the sandwich, the box and the spring rolls. The garlic dip was exquisite. Definitely made with fresh ingredients made daily. Hope to go to a GDK in the US.

Food is ok but the staff are not very friendly. Once they gave me rare done meat all soggy so next time i asked well cooked but they rejected my request and just said it is what it is.

I come here twice a week at least and order the same thing every time. Half the time I pay for extra chicken but usually it's no different to what you'd get as standard and feels like a total waste of money. Portion sizes between the chefs vary quite a lot. Food is tasty though and the staff are all lovely

Aye this place was banging, went in for the first time the night. The boss box was fire, stuffed to the gills now. Kebab was amazing, non oily and the dips are fire. Spicy fires were right on point, all in all loved it. Not the cheapest but for what you get it's value for money.

Staff don't know how to do a refund. The new guy made a mistake whish isn't the issue he asks the manager how to do a refund and she hasn't a clue also doesn't understand what I'm wanting but the new guy seems to have good manners and is able to listen but your manager doesn't have a clue .... I wouldn't want to be new in this environment 😕 manager must be new or clueless 🤔 🙄

Mobile network down so had to search for here , heard good things but severely disappointed, was meeting up with my brother so had limited time , ordered kebab og sandwich meal , place was quite 3-4 seats taken , waited 25 minutes for food , curry chips excellent, fanta and beef kebab sandwich, looked amazing but the meat was stone cold and i mean stone cold ,like it was pre cooked and refrigerated, its a kebab place , come on thats your main business, gutted , only had time to eat the curry chips (hot) and drink my fanta , guy did come over and ask how it was , guy that took my order, gold him straight the meat was stone cold all he could say was sorry £13 , for chips and fanta , tried to take a few bites as i was really hungry but bread is to hard , very crispy bread , hot meat would have softened it id imagine but big disappointed, on way out i noticed ‘German hause’ right next to it around the corner , multi story building, lesson learned, so looking forward to it , if I wasn’t in a hurry id have had it remade , hate complaining but really felt like a mug . One thing you need to get right if you’re selling point is kebabs is hot food , how they can send that out to people is a disgrace.

This is, hands down, the worst Döner I had in my entire life. Normally I only leave comments when I'm won over, but enough is enough. Having grown up in Berlin, my standards are certainly high, but fresh vegetables and good meat are within everyone's reach. This place is a disgrace to the German Döner and anyone giving it more than 2 stars is delusional or simply has no taste.

i come here once every month just for a treat, i came here after school because i was pretty hungry and tired after a long day, the food was amazing, the og kebab is the best kebab i have ever tasted, the staff were so nice and everything else was great! thank you for this amazing time!

There was a clump of hair in my food and when I showed this to the girl she told me I must have planted it! Because apparently this is "impossible to happen in their kitchen". (Kinda funny seeing as I'm BALD). The council really need to re-evaluate the food hygiene certificate for this place pronto.

Als ich zu morgens zu meiner Besichtigungstour durch Glasgow aufbrach, musste ich erst etwas schmunzeln, als ich an dieser Filiane der GDK vorbei kam. Ich kannte die Kette bisher nicht. Berliner Döner - in Schottland. Ja klar! Doch als ich nach über 15 km Herumlauferei in Glasgow, im Regen - und ja es regnete viel an dem Tag, total k.o. gegen 16 Uhr dort wieder vorbei kam, dachte, genau das ist es jetzt.... Ich bekam einen sehr leckeren Döner, knusprige frische Pommes dazu und es schmeckte, es schmeckte sehr sehr gut. Fairer Preis, sehr gute Qualität, frische Produkte und eine richtig angemessene Portion !! Respekt ! Ich kann diese Filiale von GDK tatsächlich empfehlen ! Es war lecker!
