Lovely lunches freshly made, friendly staff, obviously passionate about food! Great value, especially considering everything is homemade. Highly recommended!

Think I’ve just found my new favourite place for lunch or just a coffee. I believe it’s under brand new management. Such a friendly welcome - which always makes you feel good. Pretty much everything is home made apparently - several salads, soup, focaccia sandwiches, tarts/quiches. All delicious and fairly priced. Coffee is genuinely the best I’ve had anywhere (not too bitter) and the pastries….well, yum. So….I’m kind of hoping it doesn’t get too popular as I like my special table or sofa every time. I’m done with big chains and am living little independent places like this!

What a gorgeous, welcoming and homey space! This is such a hidden gem, tucked away in the centre of London's Aldgate/ Spitalfields area. The food was fresh, delicious and well-priced - and the cakes and coffee were incredible! I spent the rest of my afternoon here working, and will definitely be coming back Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Fantastic comforting food! Ever changing menu which keeps things exciting and fresh. Recently had their Grilled hispi cabbage and romesco sauce focaccia - which was easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted! A great addition to Toynbee studios. Can’t wait to visit again for one of their delicious looking cakes which I keep seeing on their Instagram!!

Caffe Genco is the place to be! It’s incredibly cozy and comforting the minute you walk through the door. The staff is kind and helpful in choosing which of the many food items I should scarf down. Absolutely will be back again— the perfect place for any occasion!

Just around the corner from the Whitechapel Gallery, on my regular walk up to Spitalfields and Shoreditch, the new Caffè Genco is now my favourite place to stop for a restorative coffee (I was lucky to arrive just as a batch of rye & dark choc cookies came out of the oven!), or to linger over a freshly-made tart of the day with seasonal salads. Easy to find, with outdoor seating in addition to the main airy, artsy café space. Always a friendly welcome and an interesting Italian-Turkish menu updated daily. I’ve noticed tables of digital nomads, small groups of lunchtime meetings, local office workers and cultural tourists like me, as well as a stream of takeaways being served. It’s too good not to share - Caffè Genco’s impressive and enterprising young team await you! Did I mention the home-made focaccia, freshly baked every day…? I’m a not unbiased but a totally objective paying customer and the above is all true!

Took my girlfriend here for Valentines. The ambience was exquisite, and despite the restaurant being busy, service was smooth and the food was truly outstanding. The staff were utterly professional and made the evening one to savour.
