GBK in Liverpool

Went there last Sunday for lunch as the first time my sister visited this restaurant the food was great and the portions good. Very disappointed this time with the portions. We got 1 Smashed Classic burger and 2 Smashed Blue burgers. The burgers were really small and you could barely taste the rest of the ingredients and sauces. it felt like you were eating a plain cheeseburger nothing special. The skinny fries were nice (the only good thing). For drinks we got from the fresh and fizzy section: 1 Passion fruit & Vanilla and a lemonade. The passion fruit and vanilla tasted like medication and the lemonade was just ok. The guy who greeted us was friendly but the girl who brought the food was quite rude, we asked for cutlery as we checked that the ones we had already on the table included only knives therefore, we needed more napkins and forks and when we asked she said its there so we kindly said that there were only knives, she then brought another one that had 2 forks so we just had to get another one from the table next to us as we were 3 people. For £42 I would expect a more decent and tasty burger. A man or a young boy would need 2 burgers for sure or 3 in order not to be hungry afterwards.

Got there at 5pm only ones there...table was sticky and bit unpleasant. Ordered in the app and 20mins lager received the worst burgers I've eaten. My partner left his and I wish I'd just walked out. The grease was terrible and a really horrible after taste. Chipotle mayo looked like it had been put in the pot 2 days ago with a quick stir to break up the gloop. Will never step foot in a GBK again

What has happened to GBK??!! Menu has changed to allow for the “smash” burgers so they go and remove sweet potato fries!? Absolutely ridiculous, this is one of the reasons we would travel so far for a burger. And talking of burgers they’re tiny now, no longer the nice big fat patties - better when there was a choice of sizes too. Liverpool also had no ICE and no DIET COKE!! So nice warm unwanted drinks all round. Oh and the skinny fries that replaced the sweet potato- absolutely disgusting they were drenched in salt we couldn’t finish them. Salt is a personal preference and to have so much poured on by the chef was surprising and really unnecessary. Probably won’t be back now as it’s really gone downhill. Such a shame it’s been ruined.

After shopping in town all day we decided to eat at Gourmet burger around 18.30 . We ordered before 7pm however the first two of our party of 4 got their food 30 minutes before myself. I received my food 1 hour 20 minutes after I ordered. The last member gave up receiving hers 1.50 hours after her order as we were all finished. She received a refund. After complaining, the manager said only two staff in the kitchen!! Had we been advised about the lack of staff we would not have stayed! No apology , no empathy for my sister who didn’t get any food after being in there for two hours!! Will never return!

I came to visit my family in Liverpool. We went for a food to gbk and I'm glad we choose Gbk. Amazing food very friendly staff Aldona helped me a lot with my allergy order and Rebecca is a great server we had such of laugh with her. Definetly I will come back here next time. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Very disappointed this was the first time at this restaurant and although the staff were Bernice the actual place is very shabby and tired looking. The cleanliness was poor and we waited quite a while for our food which when it came it was lukewarm and on a totally inadequate sized plate. All in all not a great experience.

Phoned GBK ahead of visit and staff member we spoke to was super helpful and remembered we'd called. Sorry I have forgotten name, but made us feel really welcome. Food arrived quickly, cooked as requested (well done etc.) and most importantly tasted delicious. Of particular note were the onion rings. The best we have tasted in a long time! This in no way effected our visit, but I would agree with others that some of the decor, particularly the yellow leather seating, could do with updating. More as we were so impressed by the food and the front of house member of staff who served us that it seems a shame that this might put people off. We would definitely go again next time we are in Liverpool.

We arrived on a Friday night but hadn’t booked. We managed to get a seat but the restaurant was very busy and people after us had to wait a while to get seated. This promised big things, if its this popular the food must be good. We were told about using the app and ordering on line. This we tried and what a very pleasant surprise, everything worked and we got the drinks and food ordered efficiently and in good time. Now the food - it was excellent! The burgers we ordered were cooked precisely as ordered and tasted great. I would recommend this place to everyone.

We came on a very busy day, I wish we had the name of the man who greeted us because he was so friendly and thorough at getting people a table and making sure our wait was as comfortable and quick. All of the staff we had contact with were so smiley and friendly even though the place was extremely busy. The vodka rhubarb vanilla cocktail was amazing and the falafel burger was perfect. A very big thank you to all of the staff working today making our visit enjoyable!

Friendly service and great food. Lovely experience. Food is slightly pricey but well worth the money as it is really good. The menu has lots of different options to choose from. You can go bunless, double your patty and have it cooked to your liking. The chips are awesome too. A great experience overall.

Las mesas no estaban ordenadas regularmente. Lugar estaba desordenado. No volvería a GBK de nuevo.

The interior decor is grubby, the seats are yellow therefore filthy, tables not wiped down.
