Great restaurant!! I go nearly every day to get my samosas which I’m totally hooked on. Yet to try the rices and various curry dishes. As you walk in you can see it’s all freshly made so I’m sure I won’t be disappointed when I do :) Highly recommended 10/10

Very bad service and food was cold. Would not go back as it was the worst service ever. Ordered sea food and only prawn there.

Had a very horrific experience here, a RAT rang out from the bar area ‘yes a RAT’ The staff were rude, dirty & lazy. The food was inedible cold, greasy absolutely vile. We had a very upset stomach the next with only the small amount we consumed which wasn’t a lot. Please for you own safety STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Visited yesterday to pick up a takeaway after someone recommended it to me. It was nothing short of disgusting. I ordered chicken biryani and paper dosa. The lady serving me took my biryani from a metal container that was sat in the shelf, it wasn’t even refrigerated! It had 2 pieces of what I think was chicken breast which looked like it had been cooked days ago, it tasted like it too! Dry and inedible. The paper dosa was greasy and tasted like it had been cooked on a grill that had never been cleaned. I wasted £13 on these leftovers, the whole lot went straight in the bin. I’m amazed I didn’t wake up this morning with food poisoning from the tiny bit I tasted. I should add it was served cold in a plastic container which you have to reheat.

Today we took a young Indian friend to Ganesha in Downham, between Bromley and Lewisham, to celebrate him completing his masters. He'd told us it was the best Indian resaurant around here... and I think he's right. It's a combination of Sri Lankan and southern Indian food, and it was superb. Lovely masala dosa served with a little chicken curry and two pastes were excellent; the vada were really good; mutton rolls superb; mutton kottu roti was the star dish, wonderful and with a truly remarkable depth of flavour; aubergine curry had a sour, not sweet flavour, and was refreshing, as was a spinach curry. A great meal, we came away absolutely stuffed, three adults and a five-year-old, with three different lassis, and a bill of £31. We tipped generously, especially since they boxed the (large amount of) leftovers. Anyway, a great restaurant if you want authentic Indian and Sri Lankan food (vs. the Bangladeshi staples of usual curry houses in England). Incidentally, you eat in the back, very comfortably, but we had to ask to do so today... they agreed though, so all good! Highly recommended, best Indian I've had in London I think.

I've only eaten Sri Lankan/South Indian food a couple of times before and it's very different from what other "Indian" restaurants offer. I noticed this place driving through Downham the other day and decided to try it yesterday. The menu is quite long, about 80 dishes, I think. There are no descriptions on it and there should be because most of these dishes will be unfamiliar to many people. Anyway, I ordered Masala Dosa first. It's a large pancake stuffed with spicy mashed potato and veg and it comes with sambar and a couple of chutneys. It was very good. Quite spicy and all of the components were spiced differently. Lots of great flavours. I really enjoyed it. I then ordered Lamb Devil. I'd describe this as cubes of marinated lamb stir-fried with peppers and onions. Was spicy, but not crazy hot. Good flavours and plenty of meat. Had it with some boiled rice which worked great. I enjoyed this dish as well. Had a large bottle of Lion lager which was pretty good. I went during the day and there didn't appear to be a waiter on duty. The lady in the takeaway shop served me and we muddled through despite a slight language barrier. I'd happily recommend this place and will be back tomorrow for lunch as I have an appointment in the area. The place is obviously new and needs a few tweaks, but the concept of a takeaway at the front/restaurant at the back is excellent and so is the food. Everyone was very friendly as well. [I've put a picture of the Masala Dosa on here]

My Dad and I were hankering for a good curry. Since the Royal Gurkha is sadly gone we tried here. Initially I thought we’d come to the wrong place as I hadn’t realised it was a shop out front. I must admit I wasn’t convinced on entering the restaurant out back. There were no staff around and half the tables weren’t made up. But anyway we sat down and pretty soon we’re brought a menu (only one, as they only had two menus in total). First thing I noticed was that the menu didn’t entirely reflect the menu on the website, which was disappointing. But we decided to stay. Ordering was a challenge, due to a language barrier with one of the staff. And as it turned out there was a mistake with the order (a duplicate main course arrived) but not a problem as my Dad took it as a doggy bag for next day’s lunch (he had the chicken Kothu?) which looked really good. Which is to say the food was absolutely delicious. Nothing fancy, just really well cooked meat and vegetables. Also very reasonably priced. The servers were fine (one was incredibly friendly and helpful) but don’t be surprised if orders aren’t 100% right. But I’d imagine that whatever food arrives will be pretty good.
