Stopped at tesco superstore across the road for fuel and food and assumed it had a cafe, glad it didn't! Someone in the car park pointed us in the direction of the 'grey building' Surprised to see the diner as we got closer - we were on a mission to get home following emergency call but didn't have time for breaky This place was great fantastic breakfast and great mugs of tea (unusual for me to say that as normally i hate tea out) food was quick and the staff friendly and chatty If i'm ever that way again i would it out

Visited today with friends. Cooked breakfast was lovely and staff were very friendly. Will look forward to visiting again. Would recommend for breakfast or lunch or even just tea and cake. Pop along and give it a try :-).

This american style diner is a good place for a good burger and chips. A bit public with the front door and walk through to the rest of the facilities. But not withstanding it is good value for money.

I've lived in Kilbirnie for over 3 years and this was my first visit to the Galaxy Cafe. My husband and I took or 6 year old grandson with us. Mac cheese, steak wrap, chips, salad, tattie scone on a roll. Coffee, tea and a banana milk shake (made with diabetic ice cream as our grandson is type one diabetic). All beautifully presented. Friendly staff. Immaculate surroundings. Fabulous background music. Don't drive past. The cafe is at the main roundabout in Kilbirnie. There is panty of parking behind Radio City. We will go back to try the burgers. Xx

I have visited this American themed burger bar a few times since its opening. To begin with, you have to go to the till to collect a menu, it would be much more practical to have them on the tables like one would expect, then perhaps take them away once the food arrives. It doesn't help anyone to have them on a pile at the till. Table service might also be an option. Secondly, soft drinks are £1.15 per can, not even chilled. Perhaps £1 is enough but the extra is just greed. A meal deal including a drink would be nice too. The food is fine but a tad expensive for the quality. I have eaten the Elvis burger which seems to be a different quality of meat to the bigger and more expensive Monroe burger which has always contained gristle. The sides are fresh though. Finally the floor needs a to be swept and cleaned properly as this is very grubby. I will return but Galaxy cafe have to up their game or face closure once the high school custom moves away from the town. Also closing after 4pm when people want to eat is sheer folly, this place should be open until at least 7pm to give families a chance to dine. It is impossible to actually eat dinner here at a reasonable time.

After checking out lunch venues for Kilbirnie on Tripadvisor, we thought the Galaxy Cafe sounded good for a light lunch. Good decision. It's an American style diner in the entrance foyer of what was obviously a Cinema in a previous life. The decor is really well done 50s American. The staff are lovely & very helpful. So far as the food is concerned, I had an 'Elvis' Burger & my Wife had the Veggie Burger. Both were large & delicious, & under a fiver which is great value, especially coming with a large portion of really good chips & coleslaw. I saw a couple of people having shakes, which looked amazing. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

Now rebranded as The Canny Man, I believe it's under new management and they're working hard to re-establish this as a local favourite. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch with another couple, it wasn't busy and the staff were super welcoming. I had the lentil soup to start which was outstanding but the bread came with really unpleasant spread rather than real butter.. The wife had the chicken tempura starter which was "ok" but considering it's £7.50 it was really small. All 4 of us had the roast beef main and it was fantastic! The beef was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire puddings were perfect, extra gravy on the side would be a welcome addition though.. The sticky toffee pudding was average and the Oreo sundae was pretty forgettable tbh.. We did enjoy our meal busy mostly because of the great roast, if they put the same effort in to the starters and desserts it would be so much better. For X4 three courses and a drink each the bill was around £130.. this is kinda average these days but I think there's better value to be had in the area. The staff were amazing and very attentive without being intrusive. We'll definitely be back.. but probably just for a main course.

I recently ordered from here and I must admit I’m rather disappointed I ordered the beach burger which is a cheeseburger with chips and curry sauce the burger had very thick chewy fat bits inside it and hardly any chips for what you pay and the curry sauce was like water and was so watery it had absolutely no taste whatsoever! The tubs of curry were also half full when they arrived which I’ve been told of another customer hence why I bought 2 but both were half filled and watery. The delivery was over 1 hour and 30 minutes to the next town!! Then to get this after all that wait? I won’t be back again. £20 worth of food and it was a total waste of time and money!! The other burger we received seemed better but the hash browns were extremely soft/mushy.
