Galante cafe, restaurant and bar in Great Yarmouth

We were made to feel right at home as soon as we popped in to see it they were open. They were great with the kids, they have plenty of high chairs and brought their food first without being asked. The food was amazing, generous portions, great value and obviously cooked with care. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in Great Yarmouth, because I was sadly too full to try the delicious looking cakes in the counter for dessert! It's very conveniently positioned for the Hippodrome show if you're going there.

Wonderful place to eat Portuguese food

Our third visit. Galante caters for the LargePortuguese working community in Yarmouth. The menu is in English as well as Portuguese but in our experience Spoken English is very basic. Cash only. So far we have enjoyed olives, bread, butter, followed by large dish of grilled succulent ogre prawns in delicious sauce with half litre of Poeruguese white wine,total for two of us £21.50. Dish of small pieces of several kinds of fried fish also good.wenotice some having rice with these dishes.

Family owned business service with a smile absolutely delicious food staff was pleasent and helpful, the chef does an amazing meal was worth every penny and I will be back again addicted to the food already 🫶 clean and tidy also toilets spick and span

Traditional portuguese restaurant with a lot of traditional portuguese food, including meat, fish and other seafood. Tasty starters as well and desserts. The service in there is quite fast and they try to pay attention to everyone. Very affordable prices for the food quality.

3 of us went here today. Had 2 chicken (one grilled and one special), salad and lasagne (son) plus some olives and bread to start. Felt like we were back in Portugal. Unpretentious but really good quality food and a big change from the deep fried fare on the sea front. Definitely seek it out - the house wine is great too plus the fire water (Cape Verde) I had with my espresso! There’s a big Portuguese popular in Great Yarmouth so some good spots to seek out. Best meal so far from a week in Gt Yarmouth!

Nice relaxing feel about the place, no pretence, just good food and rice with everything. Check it out but if you eat too much bread & olives to start you won't finish your main mal.

What can 1 say, this was a last minute decision but 1 we are certainly not regretting, From the minute we walked through the door the service was fantastic and if we thought things couldn't get any better the food then came out, the portion size is amazing and the taste well.. it leaves you wanting more if only you could eat more. This is a restaurant that is going places. Well done to all involved.

We stumbled across Galante and stopped for lunch on our way to the sea life center, what an absolute treat, the staff were really friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, we had the most amazing simple soup followed by huge juicy garlic prawns with chunks of bread to dip in the sauce. Worth going to Great Yarmouth for!

Asked in a local pub for a restaurant recommendation and they directed us here. Great fresh food and wonderful friendly service. Happy to recommend and will definitely be back.

My wife wanted Portuguese food for a birthday meal. We dined here and that's exactly what she had.. Authentic traditional Portuguese food cooked to perfection along with some lovely Portuguese wine, beautiful! Third time eating at this place. Each time the food was just superb. Very Portuguese cuisine cooked to perfection in generous portions with a Portuguese atmosphere. Love it. Lots of meat and fish dishes with great wines & beers.Served by very polite Portuguese people who speak English your order is spot on and the menu is explained perfectly.
