Fuku in Manchester

08/02/25: really enjoyed the Hoi Sin Chicken and Korean Chicken bites, with Salt n Pepper fries.

Bao buns were very poor!!! What is advertised is far from what is served. This is the worst Baobun experience I’ve had.

Had a heart warming experience by Harvey. He was courteous and went the extra mile to help us out even on a busy night of NYE. Food was good and service was top tier!

Paid £13 for 4 chicken nuggets and chips that were supposed to be ‘salt and pepper’ but genuinely tasted plain. Also waited 35 mins. I have never left a bad review in my entire life but I don’t want anyone else to get ripped off from this as it was ridiculous. Rated 2 stars as it wasn’t the worst food I’ve had in my life but it’s very mid and definitely should be priced at around 5/6 pounds for what it is.

Very poor experience with delivery. Soggy fries and spring rolls, everything was bland, chicken extremely dry (overcooked), overpriced. The packaging needs to change to allow fries stay crispy.

Since moving standards have fallen, Cold starter and main wasn’t much better. Used to really enjoy fuku food but won’t be going again. £36 for two mains and chips. I know you get what you pay for but this was poor. Such a shame

The salt and pepper chicken was nice and flavoursome, but it could have come with some more sauce as there was just a little pot. The timing of the service was good

Previously eaten at Fuku before it moved to Joshua Brooks, it felt more personal before with better food. The food was nice but not as good as previous visit to the hatch.

Turned up wanting some food on a Saturday but it was literally a night club. Way too loud, no where to sit and unsure where to order

Salt & pepper chicken for £12? Genuinely not been this badly ripped off in Manchester. Basically served 5 chicken nuggets and a small portion of chips. Flavour was average. And the katsu wasn’t anything special either.

Food was very very good. Some of the best authentic greek food ive ever had. The staff were lovely and polite. Would definitely come here again. Met a handsome waiter here who took me home at the end of the night, took me out of my wheelchair and blew my back out. He said it was part of the service charge. This place is great, been here twice and they have super fast service but personally my favourite is the Korean fried chicken wings in the sides because the Korean fried chicken main was not my favourite, also it’s a little bit expensive for the amount you get but other than that it’s really nice.

Food was very bland. Ordered the salt & pepper chips and chicken and just had no flavor.

Great food, although I think they’ve reduced their portion sizes :( but still awesome.

Basic food, the curry cauliflower is just chip shop curry sauce on top of fries and fried cauliflower

The food was too salty to eat. Couldn't finish my Korean chicken and chips for all the salt 😞. A little disappointed. Not sure if it was a chef error or if it was supposed to be that salty..

Big shout out to Harvey aka Big Boss. Along with his colleagues. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Food was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh. Presentation was great too. Highly recommend 👌🏽

In what world is this £38 worth of food? Soggy buns and stale chips. Also 5 pieces of dry chicken is a large portion? Won't be ordering again.

Once seated and I browsed the menu via the QR code, I decided to try FUKU for the first time. I’ve seen a lot of reviews on social media so I had high hopes. Once ordered and paid, my food was delivered within 15/20mins which was pretty good for a busy Sunday (Carnival Weekender). I got the salt & pepper chicken with half rice & half chips which came with a choice of sauce. The portion size is shocking considering the price! Luckily I wasn’t that hungry but you’d definitely need to order something on the side if you haven’t eaten all day. The S&P chicken was nice, however it was nothing to rave home about and definitely think it’s been overhyped! I’d try them again but maybe try something else from their menu.

The no.1 place to go when looking for food in Hatch. Love eating here, usually have the Fuku Burger and Fries or a share box with friends but branched out this time and had the Seoul bowl. It came with a drink and fortune cookie too! It was amazing as always and I would recommend this place to everyone. Super fast and friendly service.

Came from an hour away and wanted something different. Really good food and chilled vibe, nice staff and service. Got the fuku bowl and the KFC, will definitely come again!

Food was prepared quickly from the time I ordered. Excellent customer service, very polite and helpful. The food is amazing here, I ordered katsu curry chicken with fries, crispy chicken bao and vegetable salt n pepper gyōza. I can't fault the food in any way it was exceptional. Seasoned just right and portions were generous. I look forward to ordering from here again.

Was craving Korean fried chicken wings and this place does not disappoint! They're crisp, perfectly sauced and are topped with toppings such as green onions and cabbage which pair really well (would love more cabbage!).

Had two small korean sandwiches. Very expensive.

Decent food and it was brought out very quick. Only issue is the pricing. Got the "Seoul in a bowl" but don't think it's worth £15.50

Very disappointed with the quality and expense of this pop-up! Hadn't tried this form of outlet b4 as we live in a rural location, but was very aware of the popularity of these places. Hopefully just a poor example either having a bad day but more likely star rating off target! For 2 adults and a child to eat very average food, KFC on a bad day, £47... There are many restaurants with I imagine higher overheads in the local area, serving cheaper, better quality food.

Chips are amazing, extremely nice. The salad/cheese on the burger was nice too however the fillet itself was really disappointing, the fillet wasn’t seasoned and tasted very bland. Probably the blandest Chicken fillet I’ve tasted. The chicken wings were also dissapointing, I felt like they had been triple fried to mask the fact they had no taste and were thrown in sauce last minute. However everything was packed really well and clean.

Food was hot, fresh and delicious - perfect portion. Unfortunately the waiter seemed to be in the foulest mood and grunted at me when he delivered the food. After seeing my food, my friend ordered the same! And thoroughly enjoyed his, although, once again,it was delivered with a grunt. It's amazing how service has a big impact on your experience! Hopefully the waiter is having a better day today. I would try other food items on their menu but not at the Hatch Pop Up.

I have to say that I was very impressed. The service, food, friendly staff certainly made my visit all the much better. Back to the food. Well I would of had seconds if I had time. Will be visiting there again.

Korean fried chicken was very disappointing. The batter on the chicken was more like fish & chips and there was a minuscule amount of sauce on it making it pretty bland. Also was only given 5 small pieces of chicken for £11

Food was good- slightly pricey. Had the platter but unfortunately it all came out cold and no one came up to check on us to tell them this. Ordering online is a nightmare and a very bad/complex website. Tried ordering over the till but was told no. Should be able to order over the till to avoid complications.

First you waste time leaving your order using QR code instead of paying directly as usual. Then you get an unimpressive overpriced burger, which is attributed as "Korean" because of breaded chicken patties. I wish it was tastier.

Curry sauce is bussin’. Food arrived super quickly and was so tasty!

Just had a really unenjoyable meal at fuku. Got a Korean fried chicken burger but it was just plain fried chicken, no sauce (at the most 2 droplets of sauce). Shame, this place had been on my list for a while but it's now firmly off it. Update: according to the passive aggressive response from Fuku, their idea of Korean fried chicken is adding some mayo and gochujang. If you know anything about Korean fried chicken it'll be obvious this is just pretending to be it. haven't tried the rest of their food so it might be awesome, but I'd avoid the Korean fried chicken based on what I had. Communication is awesome, and that's what reviews are, I know it's disappointing getting a bad review but being condescending isn't the best way to demonstrate your attitude towards customers. I've increased my review to 3 stars to be fair because on reflection 1 star was harsh.

Absolutely delicious vegan food and I totally recommend to anyone, so much flavour in every bite and they have great portions

Sharing platter, drinks, friends, live music, great atmosphere

My friend took me and our friendship group here while we came down to visit him in Manchester. Defo seemed like the most appetising spot in Hatch especially for Halal options and it proved right. Atmosphere is really good, defo an ideal spot for socialising. Food was 10/10. Ordered online through the QR code and the wait wasn't long at all. Had the Chicken Katsu Curry with fries for about £10.75, and honestly can't fault it. Portion size was good but did have room for more so I would recommend grabbing a starter or small plates/bites as well. Friends ordered the burger boxes and fries, and again no faults. Would defo come again, just make sure to come a bit earlier than planned as the Hatch venue was really busy for a weekday evening and we were lucky to get seats 👍🏽

Get yourself the Korean fried chicken, little bit of spice but not overpowering, fresh crunchy chicken pieces without being covered in grease like other places, I'd add a photo but it was the food was too good

They do real good salt and pepper fries but fresh spring onions would be the bomb

Absolutely amazing food, just visited and had the sharing platter, bowl for 1 and the brownie, honestly couldn’t fault it, if we ever come back to Manchester we know exactly where we will be coming, it’s so authentic, everything you want from a chinese.

seen this place hyped on reviews and the pictures looked great so had to try it out. food was nice enough. I'd give it a 7/10. but 32 BRITISH POUNDS for a small platter???????? severely overpriced.

Went after the footy match and wow, it was certainly worth the wait. I opted for the Tokyo bowl. Chicken Katsy curry, rice, crispy seasoned chips, and a couple veggie spring rolls with a spicy/sweet dipping sauce. The rolls were lovely and crisp, but the dipping sauce really made them pop. The fried we great, esp when you dipped them in the Katsy curry. The chicken was well seasoned and had a nice crispy exterior. The only issue I have is there was hardly enough Katsy curry, so I had to order an additional pot! Please put a little extra curry on the dish guys! Nonetheless, reasonably priced and tastes great!

The food was really lovely! Thank you Edit: I forgot to mention that, when we went to Fuku in Hatch, the staff was very friendly and informative! We were new there so They showed us everything and made us feel comfortable! The food came pretty quick from fuku! We ordered cheesecake from another place in Hatch and they came soo late but fuku sent their food as soon as they could so I appreciate that! And when Messaged Fuku on Instagram and booked a table, they were very friendly and made sure they got my details even though I forgot to give my full name! Well done and thank you :D

Ticked off the list. Food was nice, however the burgers are processed frozen food. For what you pay for, definitely not worth it.

Really really nice food, I ordered a takeaway from here and it arrived well packaged and hot. Was very impressed with the food, the chicken burgers were so good and the spring rolls are to die for. If you're thinking about ordering from here, just do it you won't be disappointed! We also got a Smirnoff spritz up as a free gift, thanks :)

2nd time only once had any food from there both times really good. Katsu bowl was probably the best

Food tasted great, and great service! However it was luke warm, we ordered for pick yesterday to be collected at 17.50. We live 25 mins away, however I got an email saying it was ready at 17.17. So by the time we arrived to pick up at the allocated time slot we could tell it had it been sat there waiting. I would definitely return as the reviews are amazing but maybe when we can eat inside

Absolutely amazing Japanese food, their katsu curry with tornado egg on top is so delicious. Curry is packed with flavours and the delicate tornado egg is perfect addition to the crispy chicken. The showstopper for me is the veggie spring roll🙌 try it if you can and dip it in some of their curry sauce ❤️ everything is always fresh and pipping hot

By far the best Japanese I've ever HAD! only had the chance to visit once. But will defenitly be visiting alot more in the future. 5*****

I was previously a regular customer and really enjoyed their food, and was really looking forward to my meal. However, it seems their quality has gone down hill a great deal. I ordered a sharing platter for two which came to £33 and was massively underwhelmed. Their portion size was a joke, food was lacking in flavour and was also lukewarm when collected. Massively overpriced for what was an unsatisfactory experience. Would no longer recommend.

Food is okay. We got the sharing platter and dragon fire wings. The sharing platter was no way near presented as it is on Instagram and the wings had minimal sauce on it just making it mostly plain fried wings. The food is okay, but not what it's made out to be. The burgers were dry, could have been more saucier to give a bit more taste but they were cooked well. Tbh all of it was cooked well but it wasn't all that. Would not recommend, it's not worth the price at all

Delicious chicken katsu curry, Korean fried chicken and salt & pepper wings. Great little place with a small inside area or eat outside under cover. A great place to eat at Hatch. I would definitely go back and I recommend to everyone.

The Katsu Chicken Curry with chips is phenomenal. Only gripe is that they need to display opening/closed times as were left disappointed having to eat elsewhere once.

Delicious Japanese street food. The food came out fast and was delicious. My only complaint was there was no ketchup or mayo for the chips but it was still a lovely meal.
