1 hr later than ordered and had to be warmed in microwave , 1st abd last time ordering

Was absolutely disgusting soo not worth the 30.00 we paid for plastic refried chips ..NEVER AGAIN ..sausages had near zero batter and curry was cold !! Derseve a refund !

chips were like plastic ..and never took note on our note we left sausage barely had zero battery..curry was stone cold

Terry - You need to up your game. Instead of sitting down behind the fryer. Teach the kids on the till what customer service is. Be helpful and polite. In fact even speaking to customers would be good. Food has clearly been refried many times Tables covered in bird poo. No vinegar and salt everywhere. Real poor show when so many other options available. I will not be back.

I've read through most of the reviews and were quite taken back because we tried them for the first time and ended up going back 3 times, we only had chips but they were amazing. We'll certainly be going back for sure!

Delivered early, food piping hot and tasty

The woman behind the counter, who wares glasses had a face like a slapped ars the whole time, not sure what her problem is. She shouldn’t be working in a customer service job, she needs a career change, won’t be going back because of her attitude, not one smile not one thank you. Bottles of drinks was flat won’t be returning.

Chips were so greasy and had an unpleasant oily after taste. It's clear that the oil they're cooked in, hadn't been changed in a very, very long time. Gross, wouldn't come back. 1 of the portions was also made up of little dregs which were oily, hard and massively overcooked. My kids got pains in their tummies after eating chips here, never again. Shocking quality with zero standards.

Oh my god I just paid £9 for 2 portions of chips that had been refried at least twice and 2 cans of drink We couldn't have tea because the surly teenager said "we got no milk"the chips where so hard I feared for my teeth so they ended up in the bin Sorry Terry we won't be back

Disappointed. This meal was superb when I last ordered. This time chips only just warm. Sausage the same. fish was just about ok. Took a long time to get here. and the timings changed at least twice.

Tasteless, oily food with dregs of ‘chips’ which should have been topped up several customers before. Only redeeming feature was the cheerful staff.

Portions are terrible. £4.50 for chips and didn’t even fill a container. £2.50 for chilli and it was a tiny pot! Won’t be ordering from here again

Just ordered chips apparently 12 chips is a portion, says egg (it’s pickled egg), popcorchicked great if u want no teeth left, missing 4 sausages, bean are over cooked, called up shop spoke to manager literally speak to just eat didn’t sound interested seemed abit of a plank tbh

Absolutely horrible , smelt vile , oil was extremely dirty like motor oil , really I should have read the reviews bad choice , however it was the only chip shop claiming to have no dairy in the batter , unfortunately I believe this not to be the case as I did have a reaction not anaphylactic thank god !! But could have been bad for someone if that was the case. I literally ate 2 chips and couldn’t manage a 1/4 of a large cod I paid for , binned the lot. Shocked they are actually in business will be sure to avoid terrys fish & chips.

Probably the worst chips I've ever had, old burnt oil, chips brown and stank, only one there orderd chips then the bloke walked away left me standing there, only to be served a tray of discusting stinking chips that went in the nearest bin AVOID unless you like that sort of thing

Utter rubbish!! Went this afternoon for cod and chips. Fish was tiny and chips green and freezing cold. Never again……..

Definitely the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Fish and chips tasted of very old cooking oil, batter was over cooked and solid ,fish was certainly not fresh. Binned the lot and went elsewhere. Should have noted beforehand that even the seagulls were not eating anything from this place!

Not sure why the bad reviews, best chips I've had in decades, great curry sauce and proper cup of tea (yorkshire) wife had the same all for 9 quid. Can't complain atall and nice bloke behind the counter 👏

Ignorant staff- they tuned their back on you , never explained while we were left waiting. filthy serving area. Long wait for fish that was greasy and more batter than fish. Not very big portions for the over priced cost. Avoid!

Would give it no stars if there was an option. Ordered sausage chips peas and gravy for my self, partner and kids and was disgusting gravy was like water and chips were not cooked properly sausages didn't taste right either. My partner took them back and told them they were horrible to get told well you enjoy getting a refund we didn't want a refund we was just offering feedback to then be told well out of over 300 people you the only one to complain. Doesn't like critism obviously looking at these reviews will definitely not be back that's for sure.

Had two long black hairs in the chips, chips were soggy service slow and bad.

Customer service was the worst. Chips were actually quite nice but the customer service was bad. I over heard the workers talking bad about customers and laughing. Not good at all.

One of the best places for fish and chips on the front. Reasonably priced, really lovely food. Not much option for seating, which is only outside on metal furniture with 4 tables, but that is the only thing that loses it points.

Really rude, abrupt staff, luke warm food, tables filthy. Definitely best to walk away and find somewhere else. Look at their grammar too! ;)

We ordered the deal of 2 x Haddock and chips for £16. We weren’t expecting much for that, maybe the Pensioners portion of a small tail end of fish and a tea plate’s worth of chips. How wrong we were. It was a full portion of fish and chips served fresh and hot in a long cardboard box. The chips were fabulous, crispy, soft in the middle, and tasted like only chips cooked in beef dripping can. The haddock was off the scale fabulous. The batter was so fine, light and crispy, it was like Japanese tempura batter. I was so pleasantly surprised and delighted by this. It is one of the best fish and chips I have eaten in about 7 years (pandemic taken into account). It really epitomised what Fish and. Chips in a typical British seaside resort should be, I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT HIGHLY ENOUGH. ITS AWESOME.

Food was fried to order which was great however, once cooked it was left to sit for about 5-6 mins behind the counter. There was no seeming reason for this as they were taking two orders a time… amounting to quite a queue. Food would have been crispy however became soggy as it was just sitting there waiting to be served. Don’t order the curry sauce- it tasted like boiling hot dishwater. The tiniest forks to eat cod and chips. Service was generally slow and the server was a little rude. Small cod and chips were served on a small styrofoam square. When it started rain, we asked if we could get a box (for the larger fish and chips) to prevent the food getting wet…. We were told ‘there’s a charge for that’. Felt like it was a lack of courtesy and common sense. Wouldn’t return!

Until now couldn't have said I've had a worse fish from a fish and chips shop. Was rock hard, tasteless, soggy and greasy. I had to remind myself that I was eating fish and not a hockey puck. The disappointing side is the chips were really nice.

Bloody lovely!! Went down a treat. Can’t beat fish & chips by the seaside. Even more impressed that the kid’s portion was available. Sorry seagulls none left, we ate the lot!!

What can say about the service 🤔. The table outside was really dirty and when you ask a cashier to clean the table was boredand she didn't care . Sleeping on the till. The fish was full off oil and probably old. Place to avoid.

Not the best experience - which is a shame as the chips were tasty! Servers were really grubby and wiping noses with bare hands, then using their hands to pick grated cheese onto cheesy chips. No hand washing, sanitising between taking money and handling food, or using gloves. Really, really long wait, with no apology or forwarning either. Also we had to ask for our change as wasn't given. Hopefully a genuine mistake... Will not use again sadly, just totally off putting staff and needing to wash their hands!

Smelly Old oil, horrible experience, one star is too much for this place, please do not eat there at all & do not waste your money in this place, chips 🍟 I would not feed these chips to my dog everything is horrible, lots of bones in the fish, no napkins, ketchup has a price, no cutlery given to us, not even plastic cutlery.. this place should be checked by food and safety inspectors for its hygiene…

Just had Cod & Chips and Jumbo Sausage & Chips from here. Very helpful friendly service, made a fuss of our labrador retriever and got her a bowl so she could have a drink. The food was lovely, well cooked and very tasty. The other half kept saying it was the best jumbo sausage he has eaten. Highly recommended 👌

Only had cod when I arrived but it did taste great but the chips were overdone.

Terrible...used on the advice of a local FB group page, however fish was dry, chips werent that bad...but the icing on the cake was when the young lad, forgot my Savaloy, he then proceeded to go to the fridge, take one out with his bare hands and throw it in microwave for 30 seconds or so and didn't seemed phased at all when I questioned it...only reason for the 2 stars is the chips werent bad Edit since owners reply - no, most/many catering companies dont use their bare hands...you state you have high hygiene standards - the boy in question had ran his fingers through his hair on a few occasions prior to handling the food, that's very low standards. Ref the methods of cooking saveloys...sausages or products encased in a skin and containing fat etc, do not soak up water and change the structure/texture!! If anything they release fats from the small openings at either end and in fact become less mushy...most catering outlets do NOT microwave saveloys, trust me on that.

Proper traditional fish and chip products cooked in beef fat so not for everyone but it makes for truly delicious chips and fish bites. Service is quick and very organised even though many things seemed to be cooked to order. Staff were young but very attentive at the counter and in clearing and cleaning the tables. Couldn't fault the service, food or price, all were excellent
