Used to be best kababs in Liverpool but when make a multiple order they give you a very small portion of meat ordered last night 22/9/24 for 7 and the portions were rubbish (not for the first time) what a let down will not be in any rush to go back now.a very disappointed (what used to be) regular customer. Ordered online. Half my order missing. Called up, told me to order a can of drink and he would add it on. Instead of being honest, he tried to take more money from me. If there was 0, I would give it. Food was mediocre at best.

We use to come here when I lived here studying law at uni of Liverpool. Thd portions use to massive and tasted soooooo good! Seems that new owners are running it past few years and everything has changed and gone down hill. Portions have shrunk Food quality is poor Service is very slow. Update. The original owner has opened up new place Spring Naan down the road on the corner of MGM estates. I couldn't believe it when he remembered me,and my gosh was the kebab the best. Took me right back to my academic years.

Word of advice, don't have a special instruction section for delivery if you are not going to follow the instructions. The Meat is as tough as old boots an the chips soggy an cold. Waste of 40mins waiting for this junk!

Rude staff. I waited for the food. They added raw onions.. which I have food intolerance with & unable to digest. He just wanted to take the onion off and not make a fresh meal. Really rude. Maybe this how they regularly treat customers... a disgrace

Always an excellent kebab in here, love the fresh made Nan bread and tasty chicken . Don’t be misled by the ordinary exterior as the grub is top notch.

Went here with a friend who was trying to change my mind over fast food kebabs. we had the chicken kebab and I must day they were the best kebabs I've tasted. very clean and best in liverpool I would say

Got a couple of kebabs after work,got home only to find a really big burnt hole in my bread picked it up almost all the filling fell out,what was left of the bread was really tuff burnt and snapping and crunching,the chicken was over cooked very dry and also tasted burnt the cook was snipping off the burnt parts with scissors?a very small amount of salad and sauce that could not have helped moisten the dry heap of rush rubbish, also the guy on the till needs to learn how to smile some manners and stop looking at people like they have done something bad to him in the past,this place has gone down hill since this new bunch of men wearing Liverpool best kebab shirts took over the original lovely hardworking great cooking very polite and respectful old owners. These guys trying to much resulting in nothing.

Cannot read their own order. Without repeating myself, ordered kebab with salad which it clearly says on the receipt, yet kebab arrived without it. Will have to take to checking food from now on before accepting.

Insane 💯✨ I have no idea why this place doesn’t have more 5 🌟 reviews because the naan is literally made in front of you in a kiln and it’s so fresh and tasty. The portions are very generous and the staff are friendly.

Fantastic Donner Kebabs wrapped in freshly made large naan bread plus freshly made salad and various sauces. You will not be hungry afterwards!!!

Really disappointed with two donner kebabs collected today as the meat was cold and it was soaked in sauce - far too much sauce put on both kebabs!! Will be going elsewhere in future! Place is too busy and standards have slipped terribly.

I went into the shop for a simple side salad costing £1. I have been a customer in this shop ever since the previous owner had it, over several years. The standards dipped since the previous owner slightly, but for the first few years of new owner it has dipped dramatically and my experience today means I will never eat here again. I came into the shop with one person before me. The person before me was ordering lots and lots of food and was asking lots of questions. It was taking lots of time. There was 3 staff behind the girl taking the order, doing absolutely nothing other than stand there. After 5 mins and the order was still not put in by the person before me. I politely asked one of the 3 redundant staff if it was ok for one of them to put a side salad together and I would pay the lady now and she could ring it through the till later. He shrugged his shoulders and ignored me. I waited another few mins whilst the man in front tried to complete his £50 order, which was further complicated by his request to a senior member of staff to pay £30 cash and the rest on card, which was flatly and quite rudely refused by the staff member. Luckily the man had the money on his card and the lady asked me what I wanted. Side salad please. The senior member of staff who had a goatee looked at my order and went straight to making the £50 order. He put together 3 chicken kebabs with 3 naans which had been sat on the shelf going cold for almost ten minutes. He then put ten minutes old chicken on them, and a miserly amount of salad. They were not my food but they looked substandard , hence the 31 previous negative reviews. I asked the man if he could please put together my side salad as I had been asking for it for almost ten minutes and it would only take a second. He told me to wait. I told him I had been waiting and it could have been done ten mins ago. He picked up my money out the till and slammed it on the counter and said take the money or wait. I said I would take my money and never come back again. I’ve eaten here and spent lots of money over the years and tolerated cold food, food which I didn’t ask for, and miserly portions of chicken and salad of late and never complained but enough enough. Friends is finished.

Went there on recommendation as I was told they do really nice food Mmm so here goes my true food review as always Ordered chicken kebab special Bread & mixed Donna with lamb kebab also 1 large chips I will make it very simple for £19.00 Our meals & chips were freezing cold & we live 5 minutes away considering we had to wait 15 minutes Service miserable night one smiles it’s just order pay take your meal & go So from me it’s a 2 on trip adviser There’s much better & cheaper plus more friendly service than this place Don’t think I will be going back To over rated & priced

My first chicken kebab from this place and I loved it. The naan is home made.

Walked in and the woman was on the phone. Kebab was cold and the rice was tepid. Hands down the worst meal I've had this year. They wouldn't budge on the bill either. Criminal.

i've eaten here for years since the original owners and was lovely. tonight i ordered burger and curly fries in an empty shop. watched a man clean the grill for 10 mins and then heres your food? no burger even placed on the grill? so i said are you magic? he smiled an gave me a bag which has obviously been ordered and not collected. stone cold burger and chips? which i returned to "don't swear at me" sorry if you don't want people swearing at you then don' serve some crap that someone never picked up half an hour ago. absolute disgrace! i will never be eating here ever again! the original owners would be disgusted in these using their name.

Came to the restaurant on Sunday 15th of August for my birthday meal with 7 of our family. Fantastic from start to finish. Outstanding service from the lovely young waitress delious food cooked to perfection. The hospitality from all the guys was second to none ! Myself and my family will certainly be returning. 10 out of 10.

Thought I would try this place going off google reviews as I'm not from this area and i can't fault it. The kebab meat was calved straight from the spit, naan bread was made fresh in the tandoor all the salad and sauces were spot on, flavours were there. For the price it was bang on.

This is our 3rd or 4th time at friends restaurant it is one of my favourite restaurant in Lierpool. The service is excellent the restaurant is impeccably clean the food is very tasty and well proportioned. The extra add on like the complimentary soup starter, bread and Turkish tea after your meal is really nice. Will definitely come back again when we are in Liverpol.

Chips taste like raw cabbage, really dry. Chicken was dryer than a nuns interior, disappointed and I'm drunk, must do better.

Don't know what half these oddballs are on about, the food here is absolute class. Special naan is lovely and spicy and adds a nice spin to the kebab. Lamb and Doner is always perfectly cooked and great quality. Ignore the bad reviews, I know my sh*t, you don't get this fat without effort.

I am absolutely mortified by the quality and service of my food! It came stone cold, uncooked and the service I got when wanting something as an apology was awful. I’m never the type to leave bad reviews but this place has got to be kidding! Waste of money.

You’d expect friendly service in a restaurant of this name but they went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Free starters on our visit and quick friendly service. Food was fantastic with huge portions. Clean restaurant and lovely clean loos too. We would most definitely recommend and will be returning soon. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

Friends Kebab House Smithdown Road Got a kebab and the Bread was like rubber , dry tough and just nasty to eat . Chips were stone cold and were like cardboard , meat was nice flavour but overcooked , very poor indeed won’t be going back , threw most of it away

Food was absolutely cold, paid 17 pounds for donner meat piece of burning seek kebab, 3 pieces burning lamb and chicken tikka. This is our best kebab shop. Totally waste of money. Never order again.

Completely wrong order delivered. Driver blamed shop. Shop blamed driver. No one would admit liability. Had no choice but to eat the food which was ok just what we ordered. 3 boxes of chips 😔 had to throw 2 away.

This place used to be the ultimate kebab house on Liverpool. I would do a 12 mile trip to get one. Its slowly gone down the pan since the new owners took over. The family who ran it previously would be heartbroken.The food is no longer of a good quality. They are no longer making the food to order and have the meat on the grill. Staff's attitude is diabolical, I witnessed a full on argument with a customer. Girl who takes the orders needs to use the work thanks or thank you and drop the attitude. Thought I give them another try but I regretted that decision straight away. Very rude guys, poor quality, poor hygiene when preparing your food, no covid19 rules followed and the portions is so small and the price is so high. Después de esperar 30 minutos por un kebab para llevar, cuando me lo dieron les dije que lo habían dejado encima del mostrador refrigerado por lo menos 10 minutos, me llamaron mentiroso, le dije que como las otras 15 personas apiñado en la misma tienda (no seguro para COVID) Lo vi poner la comida en el mostrador y pensé que era para una entrega o algo así, la respuesta fue que si no te gusta, hay muchos otros lugares en Liverpool, que usaré en el futuro, lástima, ya que he estado visitando Friends / Nile durante mucho tiempo. La comida también ha perdido su factor sorpresa, cuando llegué a casa la comida estaba fría y porciones muy pequeñas a precios muy caros.

Overpriced. £9 for a mixed kebab with a few pieces of meat and an oversized naan bread that thick that you needed a knife and fork to cut it. My Mrs ordered a chicken kebab and the it had been on the grill too long and was mostly black. Was going to return it when I got home to open it but I couldn’t be bothered driving back. £20 lost but I won’t be going back. I gave it an extra star because atleast the place was clean.

Had 2 piece chicken and chips . Chicken was very dry and chips were soggy... shouldn't of realy ate it thinking back . Within a few hours I vomited it all back up and was vomiting and couldn't get off the toilet for about 6 hours afterwards . 1st and last visit

Después de comer muchos kebabs de Friends en Smithdown Road, pensé que mi familia probaría Friends Pizza con la misma calidad. Lamentablemente fue todo lo contrario, pedimos 2 pizzas para compartir junto con papas con queso el sábado pasado. Mi pizza de pepperoni parecía una pizza de queso, no pude ver ningún pepperoni ni pude ver ningún tomate en la base, resultó que la pizza tenía una capa masiva de queso, luego algunas rodajas de pepperoni y luego otra capa masiva de queso sin tomate en la base, la pizza solo sabía a queso que el pepperoni no había cocinado en absoluto, por lo que no había sabor infundido de pepperoni en la pizza. La 2ª pizza era igual de mala y de nuevo sabía a queso solo como sin salsa de tomate en la base de la pizza. Soy reacio a probar el kebab Friends en caso de que ahora se sirva la misma mala calidad de la comida. Las peores pizzas que me han servido.

Waited for about half hour against my better judgement. I ended up with cucumber in my kebab which my wife knows I hate. I love what they do, but after that I don't think it's worth it.

Estos son, de lejos, los mejores kebabs de Liverpool. El pan naan especial también es increíble y hay una amplia gama de ensaladas y salsas para elegir. I’ve been meaning to try here for ages based on recommendations and finally did tonight. We ordered 2 mixed meat kebabs which consisted of chicken,lamb and donner meat with salad on a very large special Naan, and comes with a choice of either Garlic Mayonnaise, Chilli or Tahini Sauce.

The naan bread for the kebab is the only reason I go it’s amazing, the girl on the till can be abit snotty sometimes and she talks so low I can’t hear her along with the staff acting strange sometimes but I think the food is amazing

I have been to this takeaway couple of times and it was great once upon a time. However, after trying them out after few months, I have been dismayed. Not only has the quality and service gone down but I had to drive back as part of the food was missing! Their landline number doesn't work as I tried contacting them to report. I had to drive back and show them the food and explain what transpired. The gave me the missing nan. By the time arrived home again food was cold. And, the quantity has dramatically gone down too. Truly poor service! Never again!

I’ve been here a few times now and since it’s changed hands the new owners really do take the proverbial. I’ve noticed that when ordering a mixed kebab they always seem to pack it out with donner meat - don’t get me wrong I do like little once in a while but not at the expense of being ripped off by being given skinny portions of the other meats. Today we ordered the special (gone up in price by at least 25%) and was disgusted to see when I got home it contained at least 60% donner, burnt kofta and what can only be described as the scrag ends of chicken and lamb. To add insult to injury the nan bread was cold too however how do you complain - the number on the internet does not work and who can then be bothered driving another 15 minutes back to the shop - they don’t look the type who’d give good customer service. I keep promising myself that I’ll never go back however today was the last straw and it really is never again - a complete rip off business that doesn’t think twice about fleecing their customers hard earned cash.

Walked into the shop tonight and it was unusually empty. Placed my order with the girl serving, 2 of the mixed kebabs. Noticed that the price had increased, but not bothered as always had great food and service.

I have been here twice now after being recommended this by my son who is at uni and is popular with students. The place has a 5 star hygiene rating and is run very well, food is amazing the naan is made fresh in a oven while you wait, for 50p more they coat the naan with garlic & butter mmmmm. All ingredients are so fresh including all the salad, the meat was so tender and you could tell it was fresh. Best kebab takeaway I have ever tried! Open till midnight which is a bonus.
