Inconsistent, never know if you are buying a great fish and chips, or an inedible one, chips so often hard, undercooked greasy and terrible, next time chips are fantastic, only to be let down on the next visit, fish is generally fine, staff hit and miss depends who is on, younger members of staff generally better and friendly, sadly as our local chippy, can no longer take the risk of a terrible expensive treat to put in the bin.

The very first thing I do whenever I travel back home to Scotland, is to stop off in Laurencekirk to get a fish supper from Fred’s chip van. They’re chips are nice and crispy. The fish is crunchy and has a lovely taste. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Saw a couple of reviews on here and wondered if they were talking about the right takeaway! Have used for many years and doubt if we’ve ever had a bad meal. I have no reservations in recommending Szechuan - just away to order now!

Ordered Chicken Madras and Mushroom Pilau Rice with mixed Pakoras to start. £25. Had better microwave meals from the supermarket. Quite tasteless for a Madras and only 6 small pieces of chicken. Rice contained and leaked water as if microwaved from frozen. The Pakoras were hiding under some lettuce and over cooked.
