Fox & Hounds in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

A throw back to a typical old pub ,not found round our neck of the woods, mores the pity. Nice beer ,brewed on premises,great food,dinner now offered and if you want a lovely, lively banter with the barmaid,look no further.

Great place, but even better food. Under staffed due to no fault of their own, but still bring out a banging plate of food and in good time 😋

We had a great gig here - Stevie Daniels and the Wranglers. Site brewed beer good too!

The pickled eggs are exceptional. The staff ain't too bad either.

Typical old pub, the only food that is served is a roast dinner on Sundays, did not eat or drink there so cannot comment on that.

Stopped off for a couple of drinks, very pleasant staff (thank you Sarah) friendly locals Gerald and Pat. Dog friendly, would return without hesitation.

Really nice pub. Sarah very welcoming. Locals friendly and our dog also allowed in certain parts of pub Apparently the Sunday lunch is delicious and it is advisable to book. A great couple of hours spent here on our motorhome break in South Beach, Heacham

Lovely welcoming pub. No food only Sunday lunch hence 4*. Live music on Fridays and locals are a friendly lot. Good selection of ales.

There was a fabulous atmosphere on our Friday night visit to see a live band. A lovely group of people filled the pub and we enjoying the beers that are brewed on site.

It is a very good pub lovely staff very welcome and friendly and helpful lovely drink not as good as the cambridge blue

Great, by chance find. Very friendly welcoming staff and nice to chat with local people. On site brewery - enjoyed their Fox beer. The Restaurant looked lovely and we were told the food is excellent. Beer garden to the rear. Certainly will be going there again when in the area.

The poor bar staff had a problem with the chefs..they staggered taking orders cus the chefs have health issues...food was barely ok and hardly worth the wait...we were starving so we put up with it, it would be better to close the kitchen.....not a warm welcome like other Heacham establishments....

Friendly staff and locals. Food is good pub grub. I had the burger, it tasted homemade, and was good. I think there might have been a specials board somewhere? The decor is a bit dated and carpets worn. But the beer is brewed on the premises and tastes good. I imagine it gets packed when the season gets going..

Great food, the steak and ale pie is to die for and the chef went the extra mile to make sure we both had one

On holiday for a few days and visited this pub for an evening meal. Beautiful home cooked food, we all had the steak & ale pie and I have to say its the best pie I’ve had in a long while. All is all great food, beer and atmosphere 👍

Called in with the dogs. Friendly bar staff and lovely big space for the dogs. Food not being served when we visited so cannot comment.

Lovely brew pub selling a range of its own ales and a guest ale, which were all pretty good, and all your normal non-ale drink selection. Beers were well kept and tasted fresh. Also had a few non-alcoholic beers for the driver. Staff were friendly, as were the locals. Dog friendly too. No food is served on Sunday evenings so I don't know what the food is like.

Fine enough village pub. Have their own ales which is good , but use isinglass so not so good. Still nice to see Lost Lager served in the correct glasses, evening service was def elevated from my afternoon visit. Friendly locals and welcoming, will return next time in the area

Went there on Xmas due had a fantastic night

We were on holiday in Heacham and went to the Fox Hounds for our last night. The food was good, the quiz night was excellent and the atmosphere brilliant.

Went to CD Deeds,brilliant night, band had a new singer, she was really good, great night as always never disappointed by the groups they have playiny at the fox and hound, great atmosphere. XxxxX

Second time for Sunday lunch. Generous portions, quick service, friendly staff. Recommended.

Spent a lovely afternoon here whilst on holiday. Had some food, played some pool and everyone was very welcoming. Recommend the Fox's house ales as well as the onion rings!

Popped in at lunch time. It was quiet but the barman was friendly enough. Gold was a nice beer. Chips were the best I've tasted in a long time.

Lovely roast choice 5 meats comes with 9 vegetables & gravy 2 sizes of plate depending on how big an appetite you have. Next time i visit will go for a smaller main course so i will have room for a pudding!

1st time of coming here. Lovely home cooked food. Extensive choice. Not too long to serve. Good atmosphere, outside and inside areas where you can eat. Had an entertainment band on a Thursday evening.

Phoned up on Thursday and booked a table for two. Checked an hour before we went and was told that there was no table booked under that name.

Lovely little pub in a small seaside town, would recommend visiting if in Heacham or nearby👍🏼

A proper village pub, with lovely people working there and proper pub grub. Great value, worth checking out.

Just walked in with my wife, daughter, and dog. It was about 16.30. We had heard good things about the brewery and food. Walked in to a gentleman behind the bar with brown hair and facial piercings. He informed us that food was not until 18:00. Fair enough. And that "no where else in the Village does food till 18:00 so you will have to go to Hunstanton." This was preceeded with "One you have a kid, so you cannot sit in the bar, and you have a Dog, so you cannot sit in the restaurant." This is fair enough, it is their rules. However, the snarl and vitriol in his attitude towards my wife was disgusting. He was not polite and very abrupt. Needless to say we do not recommend tourists like us visiting, especially if you have a dog and child, as you're only welcome in the garden if so. Go to eat in Hunstanton or any other establishment.

Lovely pub restaurant, when we went it was quiet but the food was delicious,great price and staff very friendly recommend this place to anyone who wants a good meal out with a beer or two ...

On holiday in Heacham had great Sunday lunch in the Fox and Hounds. 7 veg plus roast parsnip, roast and boiled spuds, Yorkshire pud and plenty of turkey. Superb beers from their own brewery required further visits throughout the week. Landlord and staff all very friendly and customers always ready for a chat. Live music on Friday night with Dangerose Restrung - a harp, mandolin, acoustic guitar and bass covers band - superb covers of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns n Roses, Neil Young, Bowie, etc.

Excellent choice of real ales, many produced in their own brewery. Good well priced menu, just not much of an atmosphere in there.

Went for lunch with my family, 6 of us including a child under the age of 14. Was told very politely that she couldn't be in the bar area, not a problem though as we sat in the restaurant. The landlady was chatty and helpful showing the specials board etc. We all had various meals some off the lunchtime menu and some off the main menu. All the food turned up at the same time and was amazing!! The chef makes the best chips I've had in a long time and everyone eating cleared up every last bit off the plates. Tried to book Sunday lunch but unfortunately booked up way in advance and I really can't say I'm surprised. Will definitely be going back.

Good, honest pub with a great atmosphere. The night we went there was love music, a very enjoyable evening.

Decent pint of Madri here and cheaper than the west norfolk. Was planning on eating here but female staff member got triggered when we mistakenly sat in 'her' seat in the bar area and as she wouldn't stop meaning about it we left and spent money elsewhere 👍

Stayed in heacham for a few days to get away for my birthday, I am a Norfolk man being born in Brancaster, we visited the fox and hounds twice, both times it was a great experience, good local atmosphere ales from there own brewery, food was fresh, well cooked, and hot, good menu too sort all tastes, although it was busy the staff where excellent, thanks

Went to this lovely pub for Sunday lunch with our dog. We'll what can I say such a fantastic meal, you would not get better anywhere else. Five different meats to choose from with seven different fresh vegetables, roast and new potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. The lady behind the bar really looked after you and was very kind.

Women was a moaner but the chips were 10/10

Pheasant casserole. Wow. All home cooked. My dad had the most amazing steak and chips and my mum had a lovely pie. Fantastic find. Ashamed to say I didn't try the beer.

18 of a funeral party believed t hype of, A cosy caring pub with relaxing private room,for meals,buffet, On Fri 5.11.21 .yes we did have t back dinning room, plus use of t bar toilets.!! Buffet food beige and boring , mostly pastries and white dry bread,made early as chef! gone out, to be served at 3.30pm,!(not a lettuce leaf or garnish in sight), nor tablecloths,even paper ones. Luke warm cofi,hard straight wood chairs, nothing cosy ,comfortable, about t whole experience, £216. DISAPOINTMENT

Arrived with 7 adults and 3 kids (9-13 yrs). Friday at 7pm. Told immediately that kids weren't allowed in the bar. Only in the restaurant if eating!!! We wanted a pint before going to watch Heacham FC. What a shame. Lost out on at least £100!!

My grandparents come here often but it was my first visit today. Great food, great welcome. A lovely restaurant area that looks newly refurbished. The bar area gives the classic pub feel. A pool table and nice toilets are a bonus. Will be coming again. Oh and the portions are good too. Staff are lovely amd welcoming.

Beer is brewed on site and a fantastic selection, the food however.... we went for Sunday lunch and the meal was.... out of this world. We all had a massive plateful filled with huge chunks/slices of meat, a large selection of vegetables and super tasty gravy. The quality and the price is just brilliant and i can't fault it.

Went to the beer festival Sat 29th July. Great guest beers and fantastic live band. Great night out. Friendly staff. Not to mention a live band every week.

Great little pub with excellent music programme. Brewery attached with their beers being sold alongside guests.

Good food and cosy/friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly makes for lots of customer interaction. Puds a bit limited but would readily return.

Never been here before and decided to stop for a meal and a pint with the family and happy we did so. Atmosphere is good and the staff make you feel welcome . Dogs are also allowed In this pub. We ordered 3 meals and a drink for around £30 ! Good value ! The food we ordered was of great quality and notably the salad was also nice and fresh ( NO wilted yellow lettuce, tomatoes Cucumber etc that some establishments offer) Recommend a visit .

Stumbled across this walking to North Heacham Beach. Lovely reasonably priced food (£6.50 for ham,egg and chips, jacket potato or pie for lunch). Lovely local ale, we stopped again on the way back!

Maybe it's me. Flat ale and very cold. Not just here. Good for entertainment on evenings I suppose

Food was great. Gentleman serving the food was friendly and welcoming. The young bar tender was a bit miserable and could improve his customer service skills. All round would recommend this as a place to eat.
