Okay pub, typical of the Castle Rock, dog friendly is the main benefit it offers

My partner and I visited tonight and there was a table of three gentleman who smelt of weed. Given I am extremely allergic to weed, I very discretely asked one of the gentleman if they use weed as I could smell it to which he replied they did! I explained thank you and I am allergic and started to leave. It was at this point that his two colleagues who had gone outside to smoke their joints in the pubs garden returned and their colleague explained that I was allergic to weed to which these two started verbally abusing me, calling me weak, telling me to go back to my colonial roots( Im from Zimbabwe) The member of staff just observed all of this and did nothing at all! It was me who actually apologised to all the members of the public currently using the bar for the disturbance. So… if you want to have a drink amongst people who openly vape, smoke weed in the pub garden and deem it normal to verbally abuse members of the public and be served by bar staff who lack any moral fibre then visit the fox and grapes!

A classic Castle Rock pub! Clean tidy if a bit echoey due to bare floors and walls. And the bus stops outside so no need to drive

Breath of fresh air… After a visit to another local public house where the visit was poor the Fox and Grapes was fantastic! Great beer, great food, welcoming atmosphere and wonderful customer service. Well done to all the team at the Fox and Grapes…👌

Fantastic pub with a wide selection of drinks to cater for all. Food is also very good and the happy cluck is awesome, do not change it! Lots of different events take place and having attended whisky tasting, wine tasting and a quiz night I would highly recommend to all.

I don’t know what to make of the Fox & Grapes, we weren’t allowed to sample any of keg guest beers, their own IPA wasn’t good, luckily we were allowed to try that. As a boozer it’s good, it has a great atmosphere but I was expecting more charm.

What a great pub ! Incredible choice if ales, ciders and lagers and the food was amazing at a good price. Get down there and enjoy !

Excellent pub about 15 minutes walk from Nottingham Railway Station. Six cask ales - and five ciders - on handpump when I last visited including a stout. Busy but not too busy before the Spurs game at the City Ground. For many years, the pub was named Peggers and was run by Banks’s. Reopened by Castle Rock Brewery in 2017.

Friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere and good selection of beers, I'm yet to try the food but I'll definitely be giving it a go soon. Good place to meet friends for a pint.

Excellent selection of ale and gin. Staff are brilliant, knowledgeable and very friendly. Located just on the edge of Sneinton Market. Crowd is creatives, some beer nerds, hipsters and locals.LGBTQ+ safe. Very clean, nice crowd, reasonable (but not cheap) prices. Very generous loyalty scheme via the app. Recent student accommodation next door has not affected the ambience. Multiple sockets and USB points, decent WiFi. Great for an afternoon pint or a more lively evening. Some outdoor seating and in summertime it's a glorious location right in the city centre. Sadly the eclectic pizza offering has been replaced by a chicken and chips corner. They say they offer vegan options but appear to fry everything in the same oil and nothing on the menu about cross-contamination.

Always try and pop into the Fox and Grapes when I'm in Nottingham. Certainly a place to go if you like craft beer. Very decent selection with friendly and attentive staff

Thursday 28th september 2023 Today i went to what is a marvellous nottingham real ale and cider pub 4 real ciders on handpump and umpteen great interesting hand pumped ales on Great staff who know how to look after real ales This proper pub has a really busy local following who seem to drink the hand pumped ales ferviantly The pub has great background music on, and it has to be an essential visit for real ale drinkers to come to when in Nottingham Well, done all people who have made this pub what it is👍👍👍👍

Not bad little pub. We didn't try any food but from what we saw it looked good. Service was good and a good selection of different lagers and beers.

Brace yourself to be blown away by the sheer quantity of drinks on offer in this place; the selection of beers at any given time is astounding. Its location just a short walk from the city centre, and right on the edge of the hip place-to-be Sneinton Market, make it an ideal visit if you find yourself in town. It also boasts a welcoming atmosphere, bright and airy interior, reasonable prices and efficient service, with a pleasant outdoor seating area for the warmer months.

One of my favourite castle rock pub. There’s always a good selection of beers here from all over the place on keg and cask. Always a great pint here and the staff are great.

Update: Really disappointed to come back to this pub; my contacless payment for £5.50 was declined (only requiring my pin number as usual), I was almost treated like a criminal by the bar staff and locals, with a member of the bar staff scarcasically calling me an 'oh such honest and valued customer'. Albeit I have not been to been to the Fox and Grapes for over a year, but we supported this pub throughout Covid being our go to place for food with our children. Really disappointed to be treated in this way, I have been supporting Castle Rock pubs as an excellent brand for over 20 years. No need for this attitude, very unusual for Castle Rock pubs in my experience.

Another a great Castle Rock pub. A beautiful venue that is peaceful with friendly staff and customers. There is a great choice of beers and a nice outside area. This is certainly worth a visit if you’re in town/Sneinton area.

Another good honest boozer which, although owned by Castle Rock, showcases beers from other breweries alongside their own range. Always a lively atmosphere and always plenty of beers to choose from on cask and keg.

Great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere

I consider the Fox and Grapes to be my local despite the fact I live nearly two miles away! There is always a warm welcome from the staff and the beer never disappoints. I'm a bitter drinker so always pleased to be able to have a pint of Castle Rock Preservation. There is lots of choice for other drinkers though, a lovely pint of Guinness and good lagers in Prava and Staropramen. Always an impressive choice of Cider, too. The pizzas are good value and are big enough to need a doggy bag - for me anyway! The atmosphere is always good and there's a mixed clientele which makes the pub an interesting place to drink.

Relatively quiet pub with friendly staff. Had a pot of tea and a hot dog both of which were greatly comforting.

Weird time to go to a pub at the end of a pandemic. And even weirder it was going to the Fox & Grapes (you have to love pub names), and even weirder that I had never been. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was completely my bag, packed with not the trendy and loaded types, more sort of a bit on the bohemian side types. Lovely local beers, and reasonably priced wines, which were actually all right.

Fox & Grapes is a fantastic pub located just 5 minutes from Nottingham city centre and around the corner from Motorpoint Arena. The pub offers an amazing selection of beers, ciders, craft ales etc. Fox & Grapes' decor is nice and fresh and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. I believe the pub sells food however i am yet to try it, maybe next time! Would recommend.

A 'proper' pub run by Castle Rock, always have great choice of Ales and craft beers. Just outside the bustle of Hockley and a great place to spend an evening.

Excellent beers on offer from Castle Rock and other breweries. Good selection of continental lagers and craft beers in cans. Staff very welcoming.

Ok, rhe track and trace policy requires you go indoors to scan not in Window. The staff are somewhat condescending. However the drinks are good.

This is a cool pub just on the edge of town, great friendly atmosphere inside with happy, helpful staff behind the bar. They have some great beer on tap and plenty of seating inside and out. Really smart decor very clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

I really like this place, the Pizza is great (with veggie options), good selections of (local) beers. Worth a visit if you're around...especially if something is taking place at the Motorsport Arena (e.g. Ice Hockey).

Wow! First time I’ve been in here for about 30 years. What a brilliant make over by castle rock- well done! Great range of beers and a good selection of food for what must be a small kitchen.

I did not like the way it had been halted

I like the beer choice here, but on one occasion did have a disappointing encounter. Twice in succession the bar staff didn't fill the beer to the line. This may seem pernickety but when you are paying five quid for a third it is a bit annoying. I hope this just reflects inexperience rather than a deliberate attempt to short change a customer. The second time she refused to top it up which was even more surprising. Modern standards in real ale and craft beer circles tend to show more respect to customers.
