FORTY FOUR RESTAURANT in Belfast

After spending much of the day walking and eating on a food tour, it was time for something a bit lighter for dinner. We had been through Hill Street a few times and spotted the "sandwich board" out front mentioning five tapas for £20 and then when we asked our tour guide, he also mentioned Forty Four. That's a lock. Not at all busy at 6:30 pm on a weekday when we arrived but it steadily got busier before we left at 7:15. The service here was quick and the food also arrived quickly. True to the deal, it was five for £20. We chose the petron peppers, chicken wings, pork belly, beef short ribs and the smoked haddock croquettes. All were a small portion but reasonable for the price. They arrived all at once, a few minutes after we had started on drinks. Good service, a nice restaurant, tasty tapas. You can definitely get a little nuts for this price but we were looking for a light meal and found it here.

A superb experience. The meat is delicious. We took the coast to the bone. A treat! The service is great despite the crowds. A very good address.

A fantastic place. We came in by chance on a quiet Sunday night when other places were full and so pleased we did! The tapas and larger plates were all of excellent quality and well prepared. Great service and atmosphere. Would definitely return.

I am amazed this place does not have more reviews on Google. We had some amazing tapas here and the hospitality was first class.
