Fibber Magee in Belfast

Love this place at the back of Robinson, I went at Xmas and was live music on and first song I heard was fairytale in new York, with it my first visit to Ireland at the time I thought hearing that was magical , anyone who visits Belfast should give this place a visit

I waited twenty minutes to get seated even if there were plenty of empty tables, but the food was great! ❤️

Vibrant, fun place, good music, good service, food available, would totally recommend a visit, became our local for our brief visit.

Our pub of choice during a three day stay. Great staff and excellent choice of drinks. Didn't eat there so can't comment. Lovely open fire and live music most evenings - get your seat early though because this place is very popular. It was only on our last day that we discovered the bistro upstairs! Needs better signposting. Slainte.

Very busy as there’s not much seating in the live music area but great atmosphere. They also sell Titos which is a big plus for me!

We visited Fibber Magee’s on 16 September 2024, as a party of six. There was no table servers, so we had to go to the bar to order food. We ordered appetizers and main dishes. Another bar tender came to our table and told us it will be about 30 minutes, and the food would all be coming together, apps and mains, (this should have been a red flag). We said fine, because after waiting for 20+ minutes already, we figured we were already situated. When the food finally came, it was mediocre, at best. Bottom line: if your kitchen can’t handle the volume, don’t offer food. By the way, this was a Monday evening!!

What a cracking find! Not only can you get a great heart warming meal, there is live music too (downstairs bar). The staff were very polite and welcoming. Excellent evening out. Highly recommended.

This place is a must when visiting Belfast. Live music from 3pm at the weekend. A mix of Irish music and then chart music. Fantastic atmosphere, locals were so friendly, and drinks reasonable. The whole place was singing and dancing to the live music. Lots of varied groups celebrating birthdays, hen dos, weekend away. Another bar area had the sports on, so you can choose music or sport. Good variety of drinks to choose from. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great music singer on Guitar which created a lovely atmosphere. Service at bar excellant. We never ate on this day. Toilets could improve.

Cracking bar in a cool area, great Guinness, attentive staff & a good menu. Would have 5 stars but the TV screens & sound track distract.

Steak and Guinness Pie. It’s really the only option. The Brits notoriously ruin all food other than chips, but the Guinness pie is amazing. Great vibe and superior service. Went on a slammed busy night and despite apologizing for slow service the staff were jumping and we barely had a wait.

Very good bar with access to other opportunities to have fun in the building (billiards and restaurant). Had nice live music that evening. The service was also good. Despite good attendance, drinks requests were also fulfilled by fetching the missing drink or ingredient from other counters. In no way seemed stressed.

Great spot for some Irish Music and late night dancing. Great staff and a fine Guiness !!

Love this bar, and will always come here over the much more famous place next door (which never has an seats anyway) Popped in here with my elderly father, my wife and our kids. My wife’s brother was there too as he was visiting from overseas. The place was quiet but the staff very attentive and friendly. We had some of their excellent Guinness as well as some Irish Stew. Extremely good food!

This place is just the best for live music, get there early though, it gets packed out!!!

Great fun for live music in Belfast.

I was looking for an authentic Irish food and found this restaurant with good reviews on the Irish Stew. The restaurant on the street is Robinsons but there are pubs and restaurants in 2-3 levels managed by them. The 2nd floor was quiet and cozy for dinning. I was greeted by John, served with his heart, friendly and always smiling and very polite. The Irish stew is a very flavorful and highly recommended.

5/5 Fas Abiente is great! Very nice rustic and typical pub!! The service is also very friendly and nice. The chicken wings with hot sauce that I had were very tasty and a lot for the price!!

The Service was almost non existent. We could not get the cutlery. Finally when we got the cutlery, one Serviette for the three of us. Yes, we got three sets of cutlery for three people and just one Serviette! No proper instructions as to where and how to get the food. We waited for about 15 minutes and we had to figure it out by ourselves. The drinks as usual could be ordered at the bar. Everything is very disorganized

Surly bar man. Poor Guinness. Musicians tried hard but sadly weren't good. Update, not just surly, but lazy. Wouldn't work to front bar to get a Magners.

Imagine an Irish Pub, and this is what you get! Wish we'd stopped by earlier in our trip, but we'll be back :)

The ambience and service was good, typical Irish Pup. The children's burger is totally bad, no sauce and not even a leaf of lettuce on the burger. That was really bad. Our chicken breast was dry, the bacon, cheese and potatoes were fine. But this shouldn't be offered to a guest.

Delish food. Yum. Nice wait staff. Music needs to be louder. More atmosphere which isn’t a deal breaker. Seriously, the food is as delish.

It's an excellent pub, the waiters are always very friendly, the place is warm and comfortable. One of my favorite pubs.

Love this place. Great atmosphere, with fast and efficient service. Drinks are pricey but in line with other local haunts. Music is always top notch- love you Seamy!

Fabulous proper Irish bar. Had a really good band on when we went. Only had drinks but spent the entire evening here.

The Fibbers Magee bar itself where the live music takes place is very small but behind it joined on is the Robinsons bar which is really spacious and the decor is beautiful. The atmosphere in both bars on the ground floor is electric, packed with Irish locals and Americans trying a Guinness or two and maybe the odd other nationality, the bar staff are mostly warm and friendly with maybe the odd grumpy one. Upstairs is the restaurant which was a bit disappointing, the food was very reasonably priced but average, the staff in the restaurant on the night I visited were efficient and tried their best but I had a vibe they were a bit stressed and were not being appreciative enough by their bosses. All in all one of the best pubs I have visited and well worth a visit when in Belfast.

Great Irish pub with two sections so if you want a pint without listening to live Irish music you are catered for.

Had a great time at the pub. Was a little confused on how to order but the staff helped. Had the irish stew, it was exactly what I needed a very fresh, none greasy hearty meal.

Always love going to Fibbers Friday or Saturday when in Belfast between 5 & 7pm. Also stayed on a good few times for the music after. Always a great night.

Didn't have food just drinks with work colleagues. Always a great atmosphere although my only criticism was the music playing was too low. Could barely hear the Xmas songs. Staff were nice and pleasant

Brilliant wee place, but you have no chance getting a seat, friendly customers and staff. Some people will talk to you like they've known you for years. It's on the other side of Robinson's, the difference in the bars is night and day. Handy near Great Victoria Station.

Went to the bistro. Had the bean burger. It was dry, the tomato salsa was, on some point still frozen, and the fries were not homemade and not the slightest bit crispy. Actually, I wanted to get another drink and some desert, but after I've waited for more than 10 minutes whilst ignorared by the staff I paid and left. Maybe the pub downstairs is better.

Gents toilets absolutley disgusting and the smell was coming out into the bar,and a group that hadnt a.note between them wouldnt be back near it no xmas cheers.at.all

I would visit Belfast again just to spend another night in this amazing bar. Live music every night with different bands on. The best atmosphere in Belfast. It gets busy but it's a positive busy. The bar staff and the door staff are super professional and work hard to provide a memorable night.

Irish pub with a very local atmosphere. Great vibes and service. We were tourists and felt welcome. The draft Guinness was excellent, as was the Irish strew which was delicious and homely.

The atmosphere is great and the live music at both nights I've been there were fantastic. The drinks are overpriced compared to other bars in Belfast and was the only thing I wasn't happy with.

Food upstairs is good, and good value too. Though this is really the restaurant of the connected Robinson's. I have eaten here a few times and would eat here again. Fibber's is a lovely bar for a pint, especially if you catch it on a quieter night. On busy nights the atmosphere is great though and there's usually some live music. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. I have always had a good time in this pub.

Loved the atmosphere in Fibbers, had people over from England and Wales and they loved the 3 piece band on.
