Giancarlo makes terrific pizzas! I’ve been coming here for the last 7 years and have tried every pizza multiple times. I’d always be happy to have any of them, but my absolute favourite pizza is the Napoletana!

Best Pizza in Wimbledon by a long chalk. The owner, Giancarlo, has a quirky old blue Citroën van, he always uses the freshest ingredients, and keeps a relatively simple menu. All of the pizzas are first class, my personal favourote is the Salsiccia, but won't say no to a cheeky Pepperoni/Diavola/Quattro Fromaggi. If you're after a tasty, affordable delicious lunch near Wimbledon Common.......Gian's your man.

Am commentating Wimbledon tennis for US television and had heard about this jewel of a pizza place. It has not disappointed! I’ve already been twice and plan to go back! Just so you know, I am a fitness fanatic and very picky about what I put in my body. And this is some of the most authentic pizza I have ever had outside of Italy. It bursts with flavor but is light and doesn’t leave you bloated. The pizza maker is Giancarlo, originally from Naples, one of the best pizza spots in the world! It’s only open Thursday through Sunday, so if you are up on High Street across from the Rose and Crown… It’s an amazing bargain for such high-quality and authentic pizza

Sounds unlikely? Well, it does, but it's the truth :) Pizzeria Forno Viaggiante is a place (or, should I say, an old, beautiful, blue Citroen) run by an Italian pizzaiolo, who on some days parks it on the Wimbledon Hill, and makes incredible, real Italian pizzas, till he runs out of pizza dough. We went round his place on one Friday during lunch-time and we ordered a quattro formaggi. The pizza is in a nice size (the box says 10 inches), we got it really fast and it was unbelievably good! Thin, soft and crunchy at the same time, the cheeses were amazing and it was really great. Near the car there is a nice common, so with a good weather you can just go, sit there and enjoy - that's what we did :). Before going there, though, you have to make sure that he is there on that day and that he still has enough dough - it's basically a food truck, so it has its own rules. I don't get people writing bad reviews for Forno Viaggiante here simply because they haven't check things like that - it's not a restaurant, so if you don't like surprises and the idea of running a place outside some time-frames and rules and etc, simply don't go there or at least don't badmouth about it here afterwards. But if you are ready for some sacrifices, it is a heaven-in-the-mouth pizza, I'd say like the one you can eat in a pizzeria in Italy, so go for it, because it's really worth it :)

Would you expect a street food pizza to be that good? I would not but I had to change my mind. Tasty pizza, thin with a crunchy crust, quickly delivered. Kind "pizzaiolo". A great idea for a pic-nic on the common or to take home.

Forno viaggiante offers a great pizza. It is a very good combination of Japanese customer service and Italian taste. Thanks to the kindness of the Japanese lady serving us the taste of the pizza was even more delicious. arigatou/grazie 😉

I like to think i know my pizza, this is perfect. Not expensive either considering we're in the most expensive pert of london. Try one, they are seriously tasty.

Il forno viaggiante viene al Village solitamente il fine settimana e non si può fare a meno di gustare le ottime e varie pizze 😊. A prestissimo

Posso dire di aver mangiato pizza da oltre sessant'anni e penso di averne fatta una certa esperienza, ebbene a Londra quella del Forno viaggiante e senza dubbio una delle migliori in assoluto. Ingredienti genuini, impasto equilibrato e alta digeribilità' fanno di questa pizza un prodotto di ottima qualità'. Per una buona pizza sapro' dove tornare.

Love this little van, the pizza is freshly made, and at a good price. They actually have a small brick oven in the van (!!) to cook the pizzas, and the gentleman is just so friendly. There's a bench right next to it if you want to eat there, or Wimbledon Common is about a 2 minute walk away. I had a ham and mushroom pizza, and my friend had the spicy one with the anchovies, and both were delicious. Will definitely go back. He's there from Thursdays to Sundays (I think), don't miss it!

I ordered a couple of pizzas to take home with little expectation of how good the food would be! Lovely Quattro Formagio and a spicy pepperoni - they were both piping hot and delicious after my quick five minute drive home - very thin crust and beautifully stone backed from this little van! Only drawback is that they are not always there so a bit hit and miss if you want to go and pick up their lovely pizza!

Forno is a great stop off in the village as you might had to one of the many decent pubs in area. We're real fans of the funky van and the pizzas are lovely if you like Italian style pizza (you won't find any with the crust stuffed with beefburgers here). A perfect bit of evening or later night snack.

WAs told would be a 30 minute wait for pizza even though we were the only people there and it was a Sunday afternoon. Went back 45 minutes later to try again and was told they had stopped selling pizza. Terrible attitude towards potential customers.

If you want to buy some delicious street food (or food for your picnic in the Common), this is the place to go! It's reasonably priced but most of all it is good genuine Italian pizza! Buonissima!

Forno Viaggiante is a hidden gem in the heart of Wimbledon (in the village). I have been there a few times since I discovered it and I really like the époque van they use to move around and make the pizzas, I like that the pizza is made fresh there and then and that it tastes like one you would have in a Neapolitan pizzeria in Italy. The pizza is not as big as the one you get in a restaurant but it’s also cheaper and tastes far better. Unfortunately there are no seats other than a bench, but there is a park (the Wimbledon Common) a few meters away so there is where I normally head to in a sunny day. I highly recommend trying it.

True Italian pizza at a great price. Full of flavour and never disappointing. I strongly recommend Giancarlo's pizza.
