Forbidden Burger Co in East Cambridgeshire

Burnt bun, tasteless burger. Fries forgotten, though a quick call and it was sorted, with apologies. But fries were delivered an hour after the burgers and were lukewarm, weirdly thin, soggy. On this meal, would not recommend.

Order from here twice, first time had to wait over 2 hours and the second time I waited nearly an hour and then they cancelled my order - food is good but not worth a 2+ hour wait

These people take burgers, dirty fries, indeed everything on their menu to another level. Burger section moved to Ely now but some still on the pub menu, talking of which I’ve seen the steaks being served, I’ll report back but they look amazing.

Very disappointed ordered cheeseburger got 2 burgers no cheese not even 10 pieces of onion with it. And it was cold falling apart. Fries were also cold. Have had this meal before it was really good last time hot and hot what I ordered.

All I have to say is I regret only just trying it. Amazing tasting burgers, sides and milkshakes, and great value for money. Definitely try again. (Only thing would be possibly more halloumi fries in the side portion next time but that is picking.) otherwise perfect Thank you! :)

This is a shame I'm writing this but this isn't the 1st time it's happened unfortunately. 1st order, food was good but 2hrs late, wrong fries and wrong drink. Driver went to completely the wrong village then blamed the website for giving them the wrong address (checked and it was correct) 2nd order was fine. 3rd and unfortunately last order. 2hr wait, no Fries or Milkshake delivered. Tried calling various numbers and always engaged. Probably phone of the hook! Tried to contact all last night and today for a refund of missing items and just can't get through. This is a shame as the burgers are nice but since I keep losing money through missing items and the food takes so long it's barely warm when it finally does arrive we won't be ordering again. I would advise to check your delivery before the driver leaves and allow for a long wait and don't try calling as you won't get through!!! For a £52 takeaway burger and fries I'd expect a lot better to be honest.

I ordered a Mexican chicken burger and the loaded beef burger, fries and milkshakes. The chicken was two tiny pieces of chicken breast that was not cooked and I ended up throwing it in the bin. As I bit into the chicken it was hard and glassy. The beef burger my husband said was nice, but for almost £20 weeks would have expected more than 3 squashed halloumi fries. The chips tasted old and like they had been fried in old oil. Delivery was early.

All good was stone cold, halloumi fries and burger buns were burnt(inedible) and the bbq chicken bites were tasteless, vinegary and cold and the burger patties were all broke up.

Fantastic food. Freshly cooked consistently, Extremely quick. Would recommend over and over.

Food was absolutely brilliant, we ordered multiple dishes and all were fantastic. This wasn’t our first order and won’t be our last.

This is the second time I’ve ordered from here - the first time my chips were forgotten and this time I ordered a brownie, not sure what I got, some deep fried inedible thing that I threw in the bin. Really disappointed as both times the burger was delicious!!

Placed an order got told it’s delayed and still got no food and when you call it just goes to answerphone all the time - beware they take the money and don’t deliver !!!

Ordered 1917 for 2025 delivery, turned up at 2106 (30mins late). Fries charged @ 3.50, missing from order. Halloumi fries charged @ 3.25 consisted of 4 x two inch long fries. The burger was ok, low grease but needed a min in the microwave. I don't want to be that guy knocking a small independent, but when the food turns up and you feel like you have been ripped off, something isn't right with the price Vs offering. It was an expensive Sunday night finding out the hard way.

Absolutely amazing food and service, definitely worth the drive out. The cocktail menu was brilliant too. Will be coming back soon for sure, and hopefully with a taxi booked to get us home!

We risked ordering again because we love these burgers. The food arrived within the time frame they gave us and was delicious, as usual!

The burgers are delicious!! However, the last 2 times we have ordered from here the food has been over 30mins late from the latest time on their estimated delivery! No communication from the company until the food is late, when we have received a message from just eat telling us it would be another 15mins. We tried again this time, hoping it was a one off as the previous time it was very late was a Friday night. Unfortunately we won't be ordering from here again, our children don't like to wait over an hour for their food!!

Burgers no better than McDonald's. Wafer thin patties and cheap ingredients. Sides come in cups normally used for extra sauce, tiny. Extortionate pricing for what is on offer.

Banging burgers. Chicken goujons nice and crispy. Chips were lovely as well.

Ate here three times now and had three different burgers each time. The food has so much flavour. One time I had covid on a sunday, they offered to deliver to me and my partner as we had already ordered and couldn’t leave the house. They were very kind and even gave us an extra pudding. Can’t recommend enough! Ps. The mexican burger is my faveeee

A wildly indulgent option for Littleport! Delicious burgers with quality ingredients and attention to detail across every dish. Some of the sides portions are a little small but when you consider how much you pay for the entire meal, the overall pricing is very reasonable! Huge improvements since change of ownership. An enviable takeaway last night, so I'm looking forward to eating-in next time!

(Didn’t receive the ice cream though maybe thinking it was too far to drive with ice cream and hot food?) but either way I had ice cream at home and this place will always be our number one place for take outs! As burgers go, it is stereotypical to say that Americans really like good burgers. I can say easily say this was 'Murica approved! The dirty fries were appropriately named and I could tell their mission of flavor was both equal parts delicious and heart clogging. This isn't health food; this is dopamine injecting yum food. The burger itself was also fantastic, juicy, full of flavor, and I was impressed with the box used to keep it all together while it was delivered to me! Good burgers and transforming cardboard? Works for me! The cook that answered my questions was very polite and, even though the pub itself hadn't opened yet, easily explained how to order and made some great suggestions on what to try for the first time. I'll be eating here again. It will be even better when the adjoining pub is open to enjoy a pint with the meal. Good burger, good presentation, good service, GOOD STUFF!

The sides were really small compared to how much we paid for them

Something was missing but when i rang them they were great and promptly sent out more food quite quickly. Everything was delicious and great portions. Would reccomend:-)

Great chicken burger. The mac n cheese fries are also really good. Collection was ready within 20 minutes and the guy I collected from was very friendly.

ordered the glazed doughnut burger and another normal beef burger wit cheese and bbq sauce mac and cheese laoded was amazing , frys bbq popcorn chicken, chicken gougions, best burgers we had in along time really filled us up compared to any other local burger, really happy with service and delivery was fast , big up forbidden burger. definitely my new spot from now on 🍔,

Following my friend Rick's review, we were the people who put the order in. It arrived lukewarm at best, around 9.40pm, with the two sides Coleslaw and Mac N Cheese missing. My husband had tried to call at 9.30pm, but there was no answer. It would be great to get a refund for £4.50 for the missing food. It would be great if there was an easy way to follow up mistakes or your website/Foodhub, but there isn't. All the details are here, so don't see any point with a follow up phone call. Sadly the burgers have in the past been good, but if we cannot rely on successful delivery (food warm and on time), then it is a non-starter to use you again. Attached is the receipt, personal details covered, but I believe this should be sufficient for your records.

Went to a friend’s house in Ely yesterday (Saturday night). We ordered at 8pm, website said 60 minutes for delivery, didn’t get the food until 9.40 and it was (of course) cold. Nobody answered the phone and two sides were missing from the order. Would never use again or recommend as the delivery estimates are so wrong and it’s impossible to speak to anybody to find out what’s happening.

Just had a build your own burger from here and dirty fries. Most definitely the best burger I've tasted! Was cooked and delivered to me well before my delivery slot. * HIGHLY RECOMMENDED *

Great burgers! Loved that burgers were in cardboard containers (straight into the recycling) and the burgers were wrapped in tin foil (very neatly) that we will easily rise. Well done FBC!!

Ordered two burgers and a mac and cheese. Burgers were pink and not cooked properly so could not be eaten. Mac and cheese was almost cold. Will not be ordering again.

While the food was delicious i wouldn’t expect to pay restaurant prices, the price tag is rather high, I would say they need to review there prices. Would highly recommend if they could review prices and reduce them.

Had a booking for 11 - rang an hour before arrival to confirm tables to find out they were shut for a week and we hadn't been informed. Left us scrambling to sort a last minute table on a Friday night.

This is the most original food in the area, with combinations you wouldn't have imagined but will never forget, changed regularly. They're also by far the best quality burgers, hot dogs, shakes you can get in the area. Burgers feel and taste hand-made and come with a rich Maillard crust without being overdone inside, instead of being those perfectly round generic takeaway burgers most places sell here. The attention to detail and creativity on display make this my favourite takeaway in the area. I've had an issue with a wrong item in a dozen orders now, and when I called, they offered to replace my whole meal for free the next day, and brought it out to me. When another time I couldn't place an order for some technical reason once, the manager took my order by phone, called the restaurant staff, had them call me to take payment, and got my meal out. The staff here care about being the best around with their service and their food, and live up to it.

Food was barely warm tasted poor wouldn't recommend

Food packed in a plastic bag, with cardboard containers and paper bag also. Plastic was unnecessary and made the food soggy, pity it would have been good otherwise.

We ordered from forbidden burger...the wait time was great.. but upon eating our order the burger was over done ... and didn't look appetiteiseng.... the delivery driver was OK...but the food was below par.

I’ve ordered from here a few times and usually it’s very good. But on this occasion the burger bun was soggy and the fries weren’t even fully cooked 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just about on time food was stone cold - didn't seem like it was insulated on journey at all and the containers are cheap cardboard might as well be in an open box, over cooked burger and sausage seemed like it had been reheated? Asked for cheesy chips and it was a pile of grated cheap cheese not melted at all. Overpriced disgusting food will not be ordering again

I order twice the first time i order an English.burger for delivery by the time i got it this burger was hard an leathery which means it was well over cooked when sent out . Contacted them and gave them another chance this time i ordered a different burger and an extra patty what i got was an over cooked pattie sliced in half so it was 2 piece's of dried up leather. The best thing was.the bottle of wine i order for each meal

First time with this place and we were very impressed. Burgers were tasty but not so stupidly big that it all falls out of the bun when you try and eat it. Chips would be nice crispier but that's more personal choice than quality

Way overpriced for what you get. And they even have the audacity to charge you an extra 50p if you want NO sauce. You're paying 8-9 for a burger already... what's next charging for no salad?

Ordered a double patty; Burger was burnt. So burnt it was not edible. Second time ordering, not coming back a third time. Really overpriced for what it is. Opted for lettuce; what lettuce? Disappointed.

Dreadful dinner! We went to the pub for some food, the first obstacle was created when the drinks could be paid for by card, but the food only in cash. It should be noted that we have not received any receipt for our order. After a difficult start, everything went even worse. We were only 7 people, and we were served at different times with a lot of difference between us. The first people were served after more than an hour, after countless requests and complaints, we were finally all served after two hours. At our inquiries, we were told they were very busy, but what we saw happening while we were at the counter is seeing all the food go away with Just eat driver. As a mockery, the food was not that good. The quality of the burger meat was equal to that of a McDonald's, for three times the price and the fries were frozen and poorly seasoned.

My burger was actually very nice. The service, however was not. There was a 2 hour difference between the first burger served and the last burger served to the group of 7 I dined with. I waited just over an hour for mine, and over an hour after that my friends finally received theirs. After a 2.5 hour (total) wait they decided not to eat-in and to take the burgers home to eat but understandably, asked for a refund due to the awful service, to which they were told they would have to wait further for someone to come and talk to them. After waiting that long for food they unsurprisingly didn't want to wait any longer and left without the refund. I will not be eating here again despite enjoying my burger.

2.5 hours to get a burger from around the corner. For ot to happen once may e a one off but this is the second time ina row. Not acceptable. Also just eat updates were false showing food delivered when it hadn't been.

Second time ordering after a brilliant first order. This time it was terrible burgers were well over cooked no longer juicy like the last time. Took nearly 2 hours to arrive!!. Unfortunately I truly lived my first order but this was that bad I won’t bother trying it again now.

The burger bun was soggy, which I think was due to the condensation of it being in a plastic bag, inside a paper bag and those inside a heat bag, or too much sauce . The burger pate was excellent.

First time trying and I can honestly say they were the best burgers we have had. My partner had the Chinese and it was better then she imagined it would be. I was slightly let down by the Irish as I could not taste any of the Guinness BBQ sauce but non the lest it was delicious. We are so used to over cooked processed burgers from takeaways it was amazing to have proper ones. Will definetly try again soon
