Fongs Garden in Wrexham

Ordered a takeaway. I haven't ordered from here before but our usual go to Chinese has gone really downhill. I had my usual crispy chilli beef with chips and it was delicious!!!!!. The sauce was rich, tasty and had onions and peppers etc. in it and the beef was cooked just right - not too crispy and not underdone either. It was a rich deep colour, definitely the best crispy chilli beef I have had in a long time and cheaper than my now previous go to Chinese. Will look forward to ordering again very soon. Had to wait but not a problem if the food is well cooked when it arrives and it was slightly earlier than expected anyway.

The staff were very helpful and friendly when placing an order in store. I asked for vegetable fried rice which wasn’t on the menu but they said they’d make one for me and asked what vegetables I’d like. The food was excellent quality, piping hot and decent portion sizes. The crispy chicken in OK sauce was super tasty 😋. Will be my go to from now on! ⭐️

Not ordered from here for a couple of years and clearly something has changed for the worst! Pricey and not a patch on previous takeouts. Beef curry looked like custard with meat and undercooked onions but tasted of nothing. Salt and pepper chips I could’ve done better myself and the chicken balls were bread with a minute amount of meat. Chow mein was also tasteless. Prawn toast was missing the prawn element completely 😂 just shocking

I've been going to Fongs Garden for over 3 years now and never once had a problem.. until today. I'm not someone who will write somewhere off over a simple mistake, everyone makes them. I am however someone who will vote with their money when they get terrible customer service. Loyal customer for over 3 years and they forgot to put a bag of chips in our order. Now that wasnt the problem, the problem was when we went back and asked what they were prepared to do to help us out given that I'd now done 2 five mile round trips, one because of their mistake. They were only prepared to give 10% off the next meal, which, to a customer of 3 years by itself was a little insulting given that it wont cover the extra extortionate fuel costs next time I go in there for a meal for one. Not only that, but when the bag of chips was given over, there was no apology, and when we got home we realised how small the portion of chips was we'd been given. Roughly half what I usually get when ordering. This compounded with the fact that my mother and brother had ordered with me wanting to try Fongs, and the fact that the food was not only bad today, but watery leads me to the inevitable conclusion... I will NOT be going back there again. Its a real shame that they dont seem to care about their customers. Not even an apology off the guy. I'd never had an issue in all the time going to them for my meals until today, and to be treated so badly with such poor portions and terrible quality has really left a bad taste in my mouth, not just the food.

This was our first time ordering from here after numerous bad experiences in takeaways for our nightshift at work! I have to say i was quite impressed! I had special curry which was very nice and other lads in work enjoyed there meals too. I had salt n pepper chips extra which i thought were a a bit dry and lacked oil and onions but they were very tasty too. We will definetley use this takeaway for our night shifts in the future!

I have been going to this take away for about 6 years. I've always found that the food is good (compares well to some of the more expensive takeaways in the area),as well as reasonably priced. However after tonight's experience I think those days are long gone- probably on par now with the most expensive in town. I placed my order and waited fully in the car outside due to restrictions on numbers inside. The order was brought out to my car and handed at arms length which didn't really give me the opportunity to check if it was correct. After driving 4 miles to home the order was missing a dish. I phoned to let them know and they asked me to come back. I added another dish to the order. After driving back to collect I was charged full price for the additional dish with not even an offer of anything for the inconvenience. Considering my loyal custom over the years this wasn't really going to inspire me to return. The food was hit and miss- the crispy beef was like nothing I'd tasted and was left uneaten (ironic as this was the dish I went back for). I did phone and tell them how I felt and that I was going to write about my experience with a response that gives me the impression these guys are just interested in your money.

Food is always of a good standard with reasonable prices and fairly quick delivery. Definitely recommended.

Must be the best Chinese Take Away in Wrexham Food is always quick, hot and tasty. Really can say, I've not had a bad meal from here in the 6 months I've been going. Online menu and ordering, pay with PayPal, ready by the time you get there, couldn't be any easier either.

It's such a good takeaway it makes others taste bland, I just don't order takeaway if I can't get it from here. Ignore the 1 star reviews from people who have their own takeaway businesses, try it for yourself and see.

I'm not a review person, i had a so called chicken foo yung it looked like mush and smelt disgusting no egg well little dots of egg soaked in soy sauce chips burnt to a crisp unfortunately I will not return.

Have visited many times but the food is not consistent,don’t know if they use different chefs on certain nights but food can range from very good to completely tasteless.

Wouldn’t feed there food to an animal. Completely messed up our order. Gave me a meal that I didn’t even order. Rang up to complain and got told I had to pay extra for what I wanted. Had to pay with cash, clearly run by vikings. Not heard of contactless? Will never go back there.

This place used to be good but not since it was taken over and it’s got even worse , I must say the staff (at end of phone) are superb but the food awful . Ordered chicken curry and chicken and ham fried rice was all salty and curry had no flavour at all and was really thin and watery never again

Chicken curry oh my god it was so salty the chicken was dry and the sauce was watery won't be eating from there again in a hurry

Chips were dry, ordered boiled rice and got egg fried rice. Ordered a side of BBQ sauce and there were particles of meat in it (my friend is veggie). Sauce should be cooked separately so that veggies and meat eaters can enjoy together (just a suggestion) .

First time not good so gave them a second chance.... Still as bad and expensive. I'll pay for a good meal, but this food was far from it.... It's Been here for years and I'm not sure how it's surviving

Been a few years since I had a meal from here but I thought I would try a beef curry. I was very disappointed the beef was shimmy and the curry had no taste to it never again I will be ordering from here again

Always great food. The only downfall is that the actual place is very very drafty and cold when you wait for your food.

I used to order from here years ago all the time! I always enjoy a chicken curry, it used to be gorgeous full of flavour and a fresh orange curry colour, the rice would always be soft and very nice tasting too, now it is a strange brown colour which tastes of nothing you cant even eat the chicken it is that chewy and the rice tastes as if it has been left out or not made fresh for days! Its such a shame because this used to be my favourite takeaway its almost as if now they do online ordering their standard has gone down!

They now sell chicken wings dipped in batter there! I'm from a takeway background and know what they are serving is greasy and bland to save money! Sell the original ones which are dearer but taste A1!

I had my normal dish (sweet and sour pork) from here and though the food tasted okay but not great an then the following day I had food poisoning. Every disappointed and will not be returning to Fongs.

Large food choice, always cooked fresh, and always good. Efficient staff means prompt service. Too many favourites to recommend any single choice.

Afraid you let us down tonight, always use your takeaway, a "sorry" doesn't cut it sorry when you cock up our collection and we have to come back to collect the rest of our food, a cheery sorry and wave as you disappear back into...

Just visited at 22:10 and had ran out of rice!!!! Ordered special curry no onions and chips as ran out of rice but it was shocking!!! Loads of onions chips not cooked just awful and shocking do not buy food from here it's the worst iv ever had....,,

Absolutamente terrible, el plato de gambas picante era como si alguien hubiera bajado un tarro de azúcar. No picante. Todos los platos estaban muy dulce y no como deberían ser. Carne crujiente era horrorosa. Tostadas de gambas estaba pasada y no vi que había langostinos. Peor china que he tenido una milla, nunca más! Podrían haber tirado 40 libras en mi papelera

Staff are superb and always welcoming. Choice is great and the standard of cleanliness and quality of food is top rate.

My family order a delivery at least once a month and we are always happy with our order.We're quoted 45 mins and food usually turns up within 20/30 piping hot!No matter what we order its always hot, tasty and theres always plenty to go around! Our favourite chinese takeaway

Have been here on several occasions and it is very frustrating food can be great and then next time you go can be greasy and cold

Food was hot. Chips were very good. I had honey ribs which were very tasty but not a lot of meat on them. Good size portions. Chicken fried rice had less salt in it than other take-aways which is good.

Delicious food. Majority of the time delivered within the hour. Food hot on delivery. Good choice on the menu.

We ordered Chicken in Lemon Sauce, Special Fried Rice, Chicken and Sweet corn Soup. Plenty for two people..... Delivery was just over an hour which is good for Saturday night.

One of the best take aways in the area, food isn't cheep you probably get what you pay for, good delivery sercice too.

Always order from Fongs and we are never disapointed! The special curry is so good!! I would also recommend the duck!

Just had a curry from here oh my god how horrible salty curry burnt onions and mushrooms. AVOID i will not eat from here in a hurry

Ordered from here for the first time food absolutely outstanding lovely friendly member of staff taking my order rapid delivery and well priced value for money, definitely will be ordering from here again

If we fancy a takeaway I always order from Fongs.Chicken curry is lovely and I love the chicken balls in batter with sweet and sour sauce. Always get a good sized pot of sauce and the sizes of meals are really good here. Staff could be abit more friendlier on the phone when you ring and order food. I appreciate they are very busy but sometimes they sound annoyed on the phone.

Just had a chicken curry from here and the curry was like water no taste to it and the chicken looked under cooked

My brother introduced us to this place about 4 years ago and I have NEVER had a bad meal, they home deliver or you can order to collect or simply walk in and all their dishes are amazing, tasty and freshly cooked, I love the crispy beef and chicken curry, plenty if meat in their dishes too.

Although there is nothing particularly outstanding about Fong's Garden take away, the food is consistently good, the staff are friendly and it has a Food Hygiene Rating of 5. It's also on my way home from work so it scores high for convenience. Opens at 5pm.
