Flok in Manchester

Very slow service and beer that was off. So many other nice bars around to choose from. I ditched my pint and moved on.

Good selection of booze, big beer garden at the front, good location, seems very popular - a good spot for a swift pint 😎

We may have rated this place average but it does have a very cool vibe. It struck us as very Kreuzberg, Berlin'ish. It is comfortable in a sort of broken furniture feel. But don't view that as a criticism. That is their aim. All of the customers were very chill & enjoying their evening. We went twice in 10 nights in Manchester. And of course they have the requisite "bored" bartender look. Yes, they served us well, just don't expect any animated conversation from them. I asked one bartender what the street name beside the bar was. His reply: "I have no idea." So you get the picture: The drinks are good & well priced, the vibe is chill, the music is spot on & the staff practice their indifference to perfection. Go check it out !

This bar has so much going for it .brilliantly situated in the pedestrianised area of stevensom square its great choice of drinks and friendly staff make this a must visit .a credit the the northern quarter .thoughly recommended

Great place, lovely vibe - had a 1st date there we started with drinks and then ordered food. There was no pressure from the staff to rush an order etc. Food was great! Recommended ✅️

Nice place; I've been here many times—excellent service, reasonably priced and a friendly place. The only issue I ever have here is the male toilets! Ufffffff ☹️😢 Always loads of flies, and the smell stings my eyes.

Bartender with the bad haircut reacted angrily and aggressively to me ordering a jug of aperol spritz. I paid £25 for a very mediocre jug of aperol spritz and yet somehow the bartender found a reason to react extremely rudely. Me and my friends will never return.

Never had such a rude bar tender. We ordered a jug and he genuinely looked like we shot his grandmother.

We popped in here for a couple of the beers on tap. A decent place for a drink whilst in the city. It seemed to have a good atmosphere too. I'll return when back in Manchester

Flok is a cozy bar located in Stevenson Square in Manchester's Northern Quarter. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a beer any time of year. The pints are excellent, and the terrace is simply stunning on a sunny day. Frequented by young people and locals alike, Flok is a welcoming space for all Mancunians.

the bouncer is very rude and refused me drinks at a bar and said i needed to queue in the two lines, but then they have 6 people serving drinks behind the bar? how is that efficient? who queues in lines at a bar? he also kicked people out for no reason, do not visit!!!

Called in for drinks - great atmosphere and friendly staff - sort of traditional bar come wine bar. Recommended

Dismal pub, falling apart, looks like someone’s spent £20 over the last 25 years and given up half way through that 🤣. Poor cocktails that are overpriced and a piss poor guinness, couldn’t recommend even if you were dying of thirst. Only saving grace is that is open when everywhere else is shut on Easter Monday.

Tried to stop in for a drink and didn't get very far! Used the facilities before ordering and witnessed a member of bar staff use the toilet next to me and shamelessly not wash their hands after 🤢 same staff member serving drinks to the public straight afterwards - thanks but no thanks!! Shame as it looks like a great spot but plz get your basic hygiene in order!

A nice bar in central Manchester. Went in for a quick drink and it provided exactly that. Nice interior layout and aesthetic (very pub-esque). Drinks were on the slightly pricy side (£9 doubles) but board games could be rented and friendly bartenders. Great for a friendly catch up.

Decor is like an abandoned building, no insulation, stripped down to the red bricks and pipes visible. Candles lit on the windows make the place look like a sauna from the outside. Staff looked miserable and so too the patrons. Suffice it to say, my friend and I had one drink and left.

Vistited on a Tuesday afternoon so obviously quiet. Fantastic bar,good line up of beers. Cool vintage decor too.

I don't normally review places, but 2 days later I'm still not happy with my experience there. The staff were nice, the drinks were good 👍 but the place needs a proper clean! Their was a fan on the bar that was that dusty and dirty it was embarrassing for the bar! The whole place has a sticky dusty vibe, and as a bar worker myself I know that first impressions matter. And the toilets 🤢🤢 there were that many cobwebs in the ladies it was like going for a wee in the haunted house at alton towers! Would be a lovely place if only they gave it a proper clean!

31/08/23: another great night! 29/09/22: loved it here with the BrewYork Takeover. Been to this bar before but not for a long time. I'd really love to know its history. An interesting downstairs photo!

Kitsch, trendy, but laid back and friendly service

It's a shame that I've had to give this place only 3 stars, I'm not sure what has happened but it has really gone downhill quality wise. This was a bar that I have recommended for years after discovering how good it was, unfortunately won't be doing that any longer. Massive shame genuinely, still a really nice spot, but just nowhere near as good a selection anymore

Had a few drinks with my friends here before clubbing. It is a pretty nice place. Prices for drinks normal bar price, but the selections offered here is quite amazing

Went for drinks after our meal, it's now card only..... So no drinks for me. Won't be going back unless this changes. Shame though as its a nice little place.

Came here for a break up chat with a friend, and the place was heaving on a Wednesday night. It’s crazy what warm-ish weather can do for Stevenson Square on a summer evening! No pictures taken unfortunately!

Highly recommended this place for great cocktails and whisky with seating area outside. Our groups winner was Espresso Martini

Very hot but they didn't turn fans on. Outside seating area is large but open to the elements. No soft drinks on tap. No food. Very pricey

Best bar on Stevenson square to have a pint in the sun. As dear as any bar in NQ now but at least you get to try different lagers or drinks here. Plenty of outdoor seating to catch those rays and the staff are always friendly which is impressive as they probably have to deal with some very sunstroked drunkards

Great bar with good selection. Bizarrely stopped serving drinks outside 10/11ish so would be great if they let drinks go outside for longer in the summer.

Great place in a superb location. Quite small for what it is. But excellent choice and some newer additions. It has a chiller filled with cans of beer on sale which is fun. Only downside is that the toilets in the basement need a huge overhaul.

Nice little hang out, nice staff, good drinks + prices. But the men's toilets are absolutely rank.

Flok is an excellent little pub with nice booths and sitting both inside and out, albeit the former is quite limited! Has decent prices for the heart of NQ and offers a good variety of beverages. It's a good stop to hang out with some friends and have a conversation before departing for the main event of the night.

Had a Negroni and an Aspall's with my missus. Sat outside in the sun and the nice lady behind the bar brought the Negroni out for us. It was in a nice glass which makes a difference. Decent Negroni too. Really cool, kitschy place and Stevenson Sq is a great place for people watching. So much so that when we left, my missus hot-footed it back there when she realised that she had left her phone at the table. It had been handed in to the bar by a lovely lady who wouldn't even let us buy her lunch or a drink. Nice one, Manchester. We'll be back.

This is a great little gem of a bar with a vast choice on draft. The outdoor seating area is a good spot but beware - on a sunny day the drains smell very very bad inside the bar.

Gone down hill this place needs a good clean it smells of a sick smell it’s not one visit it’s the second time in 2 weeks. Get the place cleaned and sort out the toilets. It’s in a fabulous location and the beers are good but your losing custom due to the hygiene

Got ripped off on the cocktails. Went to the place for the vibe - outdoor seating in the middle of the road with a nice view; so were prepared to be overcharged for the cocktails, unfortunately my Long Island Iced Tea was more ice and coke with trace amounts of alcohol. Same goes for the Espresso Martini my partner had (very little alcohol). 17.5 Pounds. Kind of disappointed :(

Terribly slow service. Ok theres some beers on tap but everyone works in slow motion. There's no urgency and it's as if they want a queue of people.

I didn't realise Manchester closed so early on a Monday until we arrived here. I enjoyed this joint, the decor was quirky, the clientele bonkers (and loud) and it was just fun!

Sat inside but served with plastic , I asked for a glass from a guy from behind the bar on his PC , this obviously disturbed him and informed me the glass washer was broken, when I pointed out the sink he provided a glass, then was awkward topping up the short measure, just not right.
