Had a wonderful experience at Flat Iron. The service did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and had our food within 10 minutes. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and dripping with flavour. And that Mac and cheese… to die for. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were yummy! Our server Kelly was also lovely.

We hadn't booked a table but were quickly seated by a nice man. Fast service and good food. This is a popular place which is easy to understand.

I really love flat iron! No matter which location you go to, you're going to get a really good steak at a fair price. It's a simple menu that is part of the appeal, in my opinion. I'd rather have fewer items available and all of them be made perfectly each time. The garlic mash is absolutely fabulous! And while I personally love the creamed spinach, they had a special of kale and Parmesan salad, which was incredible.

Yesterday was my first time at Flat Iron and I was pleasantly impressed by the kindness of Christian who served me and meticulously explained all the dishes. I ate really well and thanks to his suggestions he made me choose some really delicious dishes. At the end I was offered a fantastic vanilla ice cream! I will definitely come back to this place and I hope they give an award to this guy because he made my first visit unforgettable.

Really good value for money. Well cooked and delicious steak. My friend had a burger and that also looked and smelled great. Bonus with the complimentary ice cream to take away even though it was -2c outside! Nice service, would go again.

Good service, food is good but not exceptional. Prices are better than most pubs, steak £14.00, not the best, add chips £4. Suggest the steak bavette instead of the flat iron steak.The mash is very rich = bone marrow. Aubergine is good, also a bit on the rich side, u can order as a mains. U do get a free ice cream cone on departure. Beer is expensive, house fizz is good value. Nearly omitted to mention, free popcorn. All in all way better value than a Fullers or Youngs pub.

Efficient menu and impeccable services

Dimi was amazing and suggested the Picanha steak tonight. The Malbec was also a fantastic suggestion! I will dream about the steaks and creamed spinach

Local 5 minutes from king cross station. It is advisable to book because it is often full. Ordered a hamburger with gherkin cheese and truffle cream (excellent) plus meat accompanied with fries. As a further side dish we wanted to try the spinach with cheese and the puree with fried garlic on top... delicious! Very kind staff and wooden room with soft lights. In 4 110 pounds. Must try!!!!

Great tasting steak. Managed to walk in and get a table, although it was busy and we were lucky, so I'd advise booking in advance.

If you want to eat steak, it is highly recommended, but there will be a 12.5% ​​service charge.

The food at Flat Iron was outstanding perfectly cooked and flavorful. The customer service was incredible, especially from one of the girls who served us. I didn’t catch her name, but her kindness and attentiveness made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Booked in today for lunch, lovely looking place from the outside, set on Caledonian road just before it turns into kings cross and gets really busy and affluent. We were greeted by a friendly man who showed us to our table and brought us some complimentary popcorn, and a big jug of water for the table. It was a really nice start and made us feel welcome and relaxed. Inside was bustling with people and had a really warm and relaxed atmosphere and felt so cosy on a wet and chilly London afternoon. Another young man took our order and again was really friendly and our drinks arrived shortly after, We ordered two rose lemonades and an apple and rhubarb soft drink, all were delicious and moreish. Food arrived later and all looked the part, I asked the lady who served the food for another rhubarb and apple drink but was told a bit coldly to find a waiter to take the order and then walked off. Didn't like that exchange and felt quite rude to be honest. Garlic mash was delicious. Thick, rich, buttery, topped with a strong garlic oil and crunchy croutons. Chips were crispy and fluffy inside, seasoned well and could taste the beef dripping. Creamed spinach was deep and earthy and packed with spinach flavour with just a touch of creaminess. Side dishes were fairly small but the flavour they packed was immense. My Mother ordered the aubergine dish as a main as she's a vegetarian, she said it was delicious and being served in a pan was a quirky touch. We ordered three flat iron steaks, two medium rare and one medium. The medium was well done, one of the medium rares was medium well, and the final medium rare was literally half medium, half rare. Cooked really unevenly. We gave them the benefit of the doubt as I expected the beef to still be delicious and tender regardless of the cooking, but we were wrong. All three were so tough and chewy and even a bit watery to taste. There was no real sear to any of the steaks and it lacked any real flavour apart from the salt flakes on top. They literally looked boiled, tasted like it too. The rare half of the unevenly cooked steak that belonged to my brother was literally inedible as it had long streaks of uncooked fat running through it and he gave up and left it on the plate. I desperately wanted the steak to be amazing as everything up until then was so wonderful and wanted this to be our go to restaurant for going out as a family. I hate criticising, and it brings me no joy, and I'm really sorry, but the steak was so unbelievably poor, quite possibly the worst I've ever had and I'm not trying to come across as dramatic, they really had nothing going for them. I've had better from Harvester restaurants and even the local wetherspoons which is such a damning thing to say about a steak restaurant. My late grandmother, god rest her soul, used to cook the hell out of her steaks and we had no choice but to eat them, even they were better. I wish you all the best and maybe today we were just very unlucky or the chef was having an off day, but unfortunately we won't return to find out. Delicious steak and chips, great service too!

Great food at a very reasonable price, much needed in today's economy! Feels like the restaurant has your interests at heart in this regard, particularly offering free ice cream and popcorn. I've tried the flat iron steak and the wagyu and both were great, as are the accompanying sauces. Chips are cooked just right and all of the sides are strong. Only small thing is that we were seated next to the kitchen door so there were lots of staff loitering around our table and kitchen noise, but overall this didn't take away from the experience.

Had the wagu sirloin, and at £26 was 90% fat and gristle , some of it could not even be chewed and had to be spat out. Worst steak at that price point ever. Fries and mac and cheese were good, service from waitress good, the cut of meat was extremely poor quality and should not have been served. Even more bizarre was the complimentary ice cream cone available to redeem only on your way out the door in freezing December weather- would be interesting to know why they thought that was a good offer?

We had a table booked for 12pm, not realising that’s when the restaurant opened. We arrived early at 11:45am hoping to just have a drink and wait for our table to be ready. We walked in as the door was open and were told to leave as they weren’t opening until 12pm. Didn’t ask if we’d reserved or anything, just “We’re not open for another 15 minutes”. We cancelled the booking as soon as we left. In the future, keep the door locked until you open if letting customers in the building 15 minutes early is such an issue.

The food was delicious and the service was quick and efficient.

Burger is absolutely tasteless, soggy and way too much onions. Burger had pretty much fallen apart within a minute of eating it. Steaks from here are definitely better.

I have been here twice in the last few weeks. The food is always excellent. I would recommend the wagyu sirloin it is amazing!!! In terms of sides I would recommend the garlic mash and the chips, if you love macaroni cheese you should also try that. The restaurant does get very busy and I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Another nice thing is you get complimentary popcorn and vanilla ice cream after your meal. My only feedback point: I had an apple and rhubarb house fizz drink and it was essentially 80% ice!

First visit and not a single fault, you made my husbands birthday very special. Thank you so much. This will be our new dinner spot. I genuinely can not type out all the goods things because it was everything. Just go and try out this place!

The restaurant offers great value for money with delicious dishes and excellent service. The steak was perfectly grilled and full of flavor, a real highlight of the meal. The mac and cheese is an absolute must-try—creamy, cheesy, and utterly satisfying. Highly recommended!

been to many flat iron branches and this is by far the worst, have been to this branch a few times and the food was mediocre (steak cold and chewy) and service was lackluster (manager rude and staff are very cold and indifferent. felt very unwelcomed) was really a fan of other branches of flat branches where the food was always banging and the service always made me happy to pay the service charge but this branch SUCKS

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here with my family. The food and drink was quickly served, and the quality was top notch. Our waiter Qasim was on top of things and explained the menu for us and gave us his recommendation which turned out to be great. Definitely will return.

Brilliant food and value. Had the steak with smoked aubergine. The veg was to die for, and the steak very commendable (for 14£!). Would go again in a heartbeat.

Simple menu with a limited choice of meats but everything they serve is just so tasty! The steaks are good and well cooked - ideal for sharing but all the side dishes are just so good. Macaroni cheese, aubergine & truffle fries are my favourites. Well priced and gets busy in the evening. My only minor quibble is their online booking system which seems to block book times for non availability.

First timers, I’d followed on Insta for a while and had to visit. So today we did. 6 of us (3 adults 3 kids) and we all loved it. Everything was spot on, from the cheeky popcorn, then the steaks were epic, we had the signature, the wagyu special and the burger too, plus sides of chips, Mac n cheese and the roasted aubergine: all of it excellent. Then a lovely ice cream on the way out. Great food, great experience. Definitely recommended.

Love this place. The steak is affordable and very tasty. Service is excellent, incredibly friendly and accommodating. Free popcorn and ice-cream are a nice bonus for the little ones A family classic for us.

Delicious, fresh ingredients, and friendly staff!

I love coming to this restaurant chain. this was the first time at this location and it was highly recommended, upstairs it had more of a pub vibe where you could eat, and when we went down the stairs we entered a very cozy restaurant with an open kitchen. You immediately received water and a bowl of popcorn in advance and the chef personally came to tell us what the menu entailed and what he would recommend. Always go for the chef's favorite and that was the picanha in this case. I had it cooked medium rare on the chef's advice and it was absolutely fantastic. Recommended to go for the mashed potatoes and spinach as side dishes. I enjoyed it immensely and would come back again.

We’re a party of 6 and was lucky enough to get squeezed in for a spot for dinner without reservation. Food was ok but 3 out of 4 of us who ate the medium rare steak got food poisoning - nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, muscle aches, the whole nine yards. Did not get a good rest that night, and felt terrible the next day. Definitely would not recommend.

A great place that does one thing very well. My steak was beautifully cooked (med rare) and tasted wonderful. The creamed spinach and aubergine sides are well-worth getting; we got both to share between two, along with chips and were happy. Popcorn cooked in beef dripping to begin, and some really delicious ice cream to leave with, both complimentary, and you have a place that is decent value, especially for London. I will be returning! It does get busy so try to book; we just managed to get a walk-in for two at the end of a short communal table but those after us were having to wait a fair bit.

There’s no need to wait around 3 p.m when I arrived,and the food is served quickly. The bone marrow mashed potatoes are highly recommended, though the spinach isn’t to my taste. The steak is fine, and considering the price, there’s nothing to complain about. After the meal, you can exchange a small knife keychain for ice cream, but it’s too sweet for me.

Yum yum yum. Their signature steak was just as good as the server described and what makes more outstanding is the super reasonable prices. It was cooked just like we ordered it and was served swiftly. Make reservations first because as recommend because there will be a line. We will miss this place when we go back home to Los Angeles.

I went to flat iron king's cross on Sunday night with friends, we were greeted by a very welcoming and kind girl, excellent food, the steaks and side dishes were really good. only problem was a guy who served us at the table in a very rude way, slamming the drinks on the table,name is Armin.unfortunately in this job who give you money are customers ,but with a person like this people might not come back.

This is the best steak restaurant!! The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious and really great👍👍 It was the first meal I had after arriving in London, and it was really delicious. The flat iron steak was delicious, but the beef special was really great!! I decided on the beef special after listening to the staff's explanation, and it was really delicious!! When you finish eating, they give you ice cream. The ice cream is so delicious that I wanted to eat more!! It was the perfect ending, including the ice cream studded with vanilla beans😋😋 Definitely recommend if you come to London!!

This flat iron branch is a 5 minute walk from king cross station. I would strongly recommend booking in advance, as we had to wait 40 minutes for a table to he free. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. We were handed popcorn, which was unlimited, whilst waiting for our meal. I ordered the lime and mint drink and it’s a great alcohol alternative to a mojito! I ordered a medium to well-done steak which was so yum, and a portion of fries with pepper corn sauce, after the meal we were given a little free token for ice cream at the end, which was a lovely dessert. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The only issue was that the air-con was on too high, making it cold where I sat 🥶

First off, the steak size is like 1/4 to 1/3 smaller and tastes less in general than the soho chains. Second, The mac and cheese was not fully cooked, I had crunchy pasta I had to spit out. Third, the waiters seems much more unbothered than the soho chain waiters. Lastly, they did not give us free ice cream after. The king cross chain is clearly there for tourists, if you can go to soho, go.

We’ve eaten at a number of different flat iron restaurants, but never before have we had such amazing service. Pip looked after us and made our evening even more special by her lovely, friendly manner. Nothing was ever too much of a problem, even when I knocked my glass of wine all over the table!! The food and service was excellent and we would definitely book to go back again to the Kings Cross flat iron restaurant :)
