Flat Iron Kensington in Kensington and Chelsea

We stumbled across this little gem whilst looking for somewhere to eat in Kensington. Only flatiron steak and a few specials on the menu, loved it, I had fries with my steak. Steaks are served simply on a wooden board with a cute little cleaver and fork and it was delicious! The ambience of the restaurant is relaxed and cosy, staff are attentive and friendly and to top it off an ice cream cone to eat on the way home! Fabulous, please open a branch in north Cardiff! 😁

I have been many times to flat iron with no problems, it was good. This time round sirloin was off the menu, replaced with poor quality beef I car little for. I ate to be polite, but the beef was poor and no I don't want a £50 wagu steak , a tradition sirloin cut was all I wanted and which any steak house on the country should be able to provide. The worst of it is I am happy to pay. I won't be back until things revert back to quality.

We visited during our half term break and had a great experience. Our server was friendly and welcoming to our two children. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend as a family friendly restaurant.

Five star service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just came back from our visit on 23/02. We are new to the concept of Flat Iron as we are not from or around London and honestly after this visit we wish we were near enough to visit again. Me and my partner were sat around not sure what to do as we had a cancelled football game, after a quick google we found Flat Iron as a chain and every London branch was fully booked on the booking system for the rest of the day. We thought we would try our chances and go to the Kensington branch to see if they could offer a table for us. Walking in we were offered a table immediately despite no reservation. We asked a few newbie questions in regard to sides and how the menu works and the lady who took our order was really helpful she also brought over some complimentary popcorn. Within 10 minutes our food arrived and it was delicious. I had a flat iron steak, my partner a burger and we ordered chips and mac and cheese on the side. All parts of the meal were perfect. We did have a quick drink spillage and the staff member replaced and cleared the drink immediately. By the end of our meal my partner had fallen in love with the small cleaver knives used. As we were paying up I asked the staff if I could buy one secret as a surprise for my partner and they helped me purchase and hide away as a gift for him. We also were pleasantly surprised when we got again a complimentary ice cream as we left. It was really lovely too, we would have bought more! Overall I interacted with 4 staff and their service was faultless. Thank you for a great meal.

From the moment we walked in, it was like coming home! The way we were greeted was like she already knew us! Then Lois took our order & she was so knowledgeable and sweet. The Luana took over, amazing! She looked after us like we were her mom. And then Abdul, he delivered our food! He was so kind & sweet & he was repping an Iverson jersey!! Loved it! We are here for 7 more days, we WILL be back. The food is incredible, from the steak to the fantastic mashed potatoes. THEN we received a little ice cream as we were leaving! I am NOT an ice cream fan but I WILL get it again! You will not be disappointed coming here for an incredible steak….. & the chefs???? Know how to cook an actual medium rare! Magnificent

This restaurant has a minimal menu, but what they have, they do well. Was looking for a steak restaurant & they cooked the steak perfectly. Ordered the flat iron steak with bone marrow mash, creamed spinach & wild mushroom sauce - it was delicious. There is no desert menu, but if you hand in your steak cleaver (tiny token) you get an ice cream on your way out Definitely recommend. Friendly staff & reasonable prices

Second visit to flat iron, quick and seemless service, good value for steak, recommend the truffle macaroni, delicious 😋. Ice cream is a bonus and very tasty.

I was on my way to a Pub further up the street when I spotted this restaurant on a side street. I went over, read the menu and decided that I’d like to give it a try. It was the Best decision that I made all day. I was taken to a table and presented with an enameled cup filled with fresh popcorn. I laughed to myself as I nibbled on the popcorn and perused the menu. The prices were reasonable and I love a good flat iron steak. I ordered a flat iron, chips with beef drippings, and a side salad. I enjoyed a Flat Iron Malbec as I waited. It wasn’t long before my meal arrived. I hate to gush about a meal because I don’t want to set you up for disappointment, but everything was delicious. I told a friend the chips may have been the best I ever had. The steak melted in your mouth and even the salad with its homemade dressing was wonderful. It was refreshing that even in a casual restaurant they paid attention to the details. The staff was young and energetic. I can’t wait to go back with friends. Try it yourself, you be glad that you did.

This was a first visit to the new Kensington location, but a fourth visit to Flat Iron overall. As always, the place was packed. We focused on the specials and ordered 2x bavettes, a large (450g) Wagyu sirloin, a burger, along with the creamed spinach and mac & cheese as sides. This was a huge amount of food for just 2 people, but it was of the high quality we’ve come to expect from Flat Iron and nothing went to waste! The bavette in particular was excellent, as was the creamed spinach. We had our kids with us who tried out the burger and the steak from the kids menu. Service was friendly and quite speedy. Note there is a 1.5 hour turnaround time on tables. The bill for our dinner came to £190, of which £40 was spent on drinks. Although it was pricier than previous visits, we definitely got carried away with the ordering this time! On the whole, Flat Iron continues to be a reliable choice for those seeking quality steak at reasonable prices…

Excellent. Highly recommended. Called in for family meal. From being greeted at the door, settled at table, served, to paying bill we were treated extremely well. Meal was delicious I had the burger. Wife and daughter had the steak. Fries were beautiful also. They don’t have desserts but you are offered a free ‘Mr Whippy’ style ice cream on leaving. Which was also delicious. We leave for home tomorrow but will definitely be revisiting on our next trip to London. Staff were a credit to the restaurant and great ambassadors for the place.

My first time trying a Flat Iron & it won't be my last. Yes the menu is quite limited but you can see it online before you try it. For central London the pricing is beyond reasonable for the quality of food & great service

Went here on our first night in London and found it to be excellent- very reasonably priced and the food was excellent. I went for the flat iron steak and my partner went for the sirloin steak. Both were nice but the flat iron steak was definitely nicer! As a side other truffle macaroni cheese would be hard to beat.

Last Saturday I enjoyed a girl dinner with takeout from Flat Iron Steakhouse - Kensington while my husband was out at a bachelor party. I had their béarnaise steak with dripping potatoes and creamed spinach, paired with a nice Blaufränkisch Ried Point wine from the local wine shop. This spur-of-the-moment meal was inspired by some intriguing texts from a girlfriend catching me up on the latest buzz surrounding an ex-friend of mine who works in the arts industry. Reasons for our parting are something I will always keep secret. Apparently this person, who shall remain nameless, had recently dined at Flat Iron and made some waves, sparking lively online chatter. Always up for some playful gossip, I dove into the commentary as I ate my steak dinner. While the gossip provided some fun entertainment, the meal itself was solidly average. The steak was cooked fine and the sides were okay, but nothing stood out. It satisfied my craving without exceeding expectations. The gossip will quickly fade, but the meal did what it needed to do for a casual night in. Flat Iron is dependable for straightforward steakhouse fare to satisfy a comfort food craving. The gossip provided a humorous backdrop for the evening, but the meal itself will fade into the blur of average girl dinners.

Went to flat iron for dinner this evening and it was such an amazing experience. I have been to many other flat irons but this was my first time at the Kensington branch. From the minute I walked through the door it was such a lovely and happy atmosphere. The man who seated me was so kind and welcoming and the service from my waiter JJ was fantastic. The food was amazing as per usual and all round the staff made my evening so lovely and enjoyable. Thank you everyone <3

The steak and garlic mashed potatoes are so yummy! We ate at the Shoreditch Flat Iron in May with our kids and knew we needed to come back our next trip. We were not disappointed. Just as good as we remembered!

Rare and delicious! Staff were super attentive and a huge shout out to Shad who made me feel welcome, safe and comfortable as a solo diner. Wait time for drunks and food was minimal and I did not feel rushed. All of this was helped by the food being really good, so great I ate much more than I'd usually eat. The icecream is a cool touch, and could manage even after being full. Will be back

Absolutely delicious steak! Great cocktails and sides, the ice cream at the end is a lovely bonus - would highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. Special shout out to Tony who was fab, very attentive and took the time to explain the menu.

My friends and I love Flat Iron and have visited most of the branches but I think this is our favourite one now. Great service from our waiter and lovely food and drinks. What’s not to like?

Birthday dinner for our daughter (who loves steaks!). Very reasonable prices and all three steaks were delicious! Nice variety of sides available. Free dessert for the birthday girl was nice, though the rest of us had to eat our (free) ice creams outside!
