Flash In The Pan, Ballymoney in Ballymoney

People ordered after me and were out before me with large orders 20 minute wait, thought it would b worth the wait but it was so full of grease had to bin it, not worth the wait or money

Been here twice in last couple weeks and both times orders have been wrong, simple but very frustrating things such as no cheese on cheeseburger, etc. Lives on reputation alone.

Second time we have had the worst chips ever. Cooked 2 or 3 times, hard and inedible. This used to be the best chip shop in Ballymoney but now they are serving rubbish chips. So disappointed. Sorry but we wont be back.

Food is always excellent. Worth the wait.

When we are this direction we always pay Flash in the Pan a visit. The food is always consistently good. We have never had a bad meal from it. Staff are always very helpful and courteous.

Okay, sometimes it's really good. Other times, it's just okay. Nothing special

Usually pretty good. However our latest meal was very disappointing. Tasteless and overpriced would definitely sum the food up. They were very busy, but this is no excuse for poor tasting food.

Awful.. chips had a horrible after taste and the fish was dry and flat. Bartered fish should be light fluffy and crispy. I had the opposite. Real shame but won’t be eating here again as we got home and threw it away

Mediocre food, prepared lazily and served with no care.

Burger meal was a kilo of chips and a burger that I’d compare to a rustlers burger at a good price of £11

First class chippy. If you are about this area. Must go.

Never eat here again Johnny from Rasharkin as they gave me a burger chicken fillet burger with no chicken an said they not pay me back money I payed what a joke of a place better places to eat in Ballymoney plz stay away as the manager a joke an tryed to make it my fault 😅 🙃

Still great chips so the 1star for that but at £4.25 ridiculous price, 2nd time having chicken burger 7months apart&still tough as leather, less time in fryer&£5.40 also ridiculous, pity they hadn't more variety in Ballymoney, same old stuff but no competitive prices,

Great fish and chips place. Nice selection. It's quite busy, but they work fast and with a smile. Only takeaway, no dine-in options. The chips and curry were amazing 👌

Best chipper I've had in a very long time. And I reckon it's gonna be hard to find another that would beat it. Taste like how the chipper of my childhood tasted. I was on the way to another chipper and happened upon this place by accident. Lovey staff. Clean establishment. Menu is not too small and not too big.

Never again raw chips and wait 20 minutes, I know its Christmas eve but wasn't even busy. Suppose staff want to get home to cook a decent meal

Quite expensive for the quality of food but it's still one of the nicest chippys in the town.

Very good value lunch time specials. Currentl cost £3.45 but portions are large & you can choose from battered sausages & chip, pasties & chip & chicken breast & chip. All advertised with beans but you can have gravy, curry sauce, garlic mayo etc instead at no extra cost. Deal on from morning until evening!

This establishment has gone downhill since the last time we went there. Lots of staff but nobody actually organising the chaos. One minute the staff were cooking burgers etc, the next they were on the till, then packing orders, though the young girl was just moving the tickets around while the place was packed. Wouldn’t mind waiting a bit if it was worth waiting for. Overcooked nuggets, chips so hard they were difficult to chew due to their hard edges and about a quarter of them had to be discarded as they were so small and hard they were inedible. Felt like they didn’t care. Lots of food like chicken fillets, sausages and fish sitting in cabinet pre cooked but not being used. The owner needs to sort this out. Won’t be back.

Best chip shop in town, almost always perfect depending on who's cooking

Went on Sunday and it looked like the chips had been re-done, they were hard and slightly burnt. Fish is greasy but ok and it takes over 30 minutes for your food to be ready.

Frozen chips at £4 and drinks double the price of the Spar next door, not be returning anytime soon!

Fish supper here is excellent. Enormous portions & gives Mortons in Ballycastle a run for its money on the fish front. Nice friendly service as well. Highly recommended....... IF MY TELEPHONE ORDER IS GOING TO TAKE 30MINS THEN TELL ME ITS GOING TO TAKE 30MINS . EVERYTIME I PHONE IN AN ORDER, THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END ALWAYS SAYS 10MINS! ROBOT MODE IS NOT A GOOD MODE ! 😑

Vraiment bon. Et en bonne quantité aussi. Pas comme certaines enseignes où tu a faim après avoir mangé un menu. Je recommande.

We've been going to "the Flash" for years. It's a popular takeaway chip shop in Ballymoney, offering the usual chip shop menu. You can pay by cash or card. We normally go for a chippy tea on a Friday or Saturday evening. It can get very busy at times, though you can order over the phone for collection or delivery. Staff are mostly friendly, though there are a few dour, unfriendly members. Until recently it had always been pretty good with a consistent standard of food. Over the past few months it has become very expensive (like everywhere) but the main problem we've experienced is our order being incorrect. This can range from missing ingredients (eg no cheese in a cheeseburger) to items missing completely, even though we've paid for them. You can understand an occasional error but this has now become more and more commonplace. Unfortunately we live several miles away so it's not realistic to drive back to the shop when we discover the missing items at home.

Very expensive compared to other chippys. Food is good but they seem to have managed to squeeze their fish portion price up a fair bit more than other chippys.

My first fish and chips here. The fish was so well done I could hardly eat it. One end was so well done it could have broken your teeth. Maybe because I was not a local person they thought they would get rid of this to me. For £10,70 i was very disappointed. I had been at the Royal hospital for an appointment and was realky looking forward to it on the way home.

Amazing chippy! We visited Portrush recently and definitely make our way here just for the chips alone. Crispy, light perfectly cooked- and excellent customer service too. Reasonably priced.

I don't know what the thinking is behind putting the tomato, onions and relish on an untoasted bun and grilling the lot but it produces a very soggy and not very nice burger.

We live a few miles away, got our food delivered n it was still very warm.. beautiful n very tasty . Gr8 service all round 🙂

Got delivery asked for 2 bottles of Fanta never got them Asked for salt and vinegar wasn't on any of it Asked for tub of beans and curry only got the curry feel ripped off never getting delivered again...

Call in at 18.15 Saturday 31st August ordered chicken jougon supper portion gravy and a small tub of garlic mayo 1 hour and 15 minutes later got my order which was absolutely horrible chicken tough dippers !! and cold hard soggy chips £9.45 !!!! The only way I could describe my visit was absolute nightmare!!!!!! Loads of staff but no organisation telephone orders deliveries and 15 customers waiting patiently outside for there food

Through the years the food has usually been consistently good but the past 3 visits in 2021 have been very disappointing. The fish was very greasy, wasn't tasty and lacked much actual fish. The chips were average. Prices seem to be rising at fast pace also which would be easier to take if the quality was as good as it used to be. Hopefully things can get back to previously high standards. A fish supper at the time of the review was £8.10.

Best place in Ballymoney for fish & chips...Onion rings are fab too..quick service even when busy. Pleasant and friendly staff😀😀😀

Mostly great food out of here, I have had the odd occasion where the chips seemed to not be very fresh, but that's rare. Definitely good stop for a chip shop dinner.

The worse chip shop ever have to wait for a couple minutes with they should know. I was waiting in line. One eastern European told me to wait but. I been waiting for an hour until a white gentleman said have you be served . I said no so he served me other people are pushing in the line with. I was in the line. What a ridiculous takeaway shop it's not even a restaurant. It's just terrible. I probably won't go the again ridiculous behaviour.

Wanted out of the house for a couple of hours. Was recommended Flash In A Pan by a work colleague. It didn't disappoint. We travelled about an hour to it, but totally worth it.

I went to this chipper after being recommended it by my friend Lewis nevin, I was expecting a delicious dinner for two! But alas, they completely screwed up my order those punks, inedible garbage!!!! Absolute morons those staff

Very clean friendly staff and the food always fresh and tasty. The fish is very good batter crispy chips great the only thing wrong they give you to much.

I really like the food and the staff in Flash in the Pan. You rarely go past the window but its full which to me is a good sign. They do great lunchtime and student specials and you can’t beat the chicken gravy!

Flash in the pan is one of the best take outs around. All their good is good but I would recommend the fish it is delicious. Staff are always friendly.

From the outside this place doesn't exactly fill you with confidence but don't let that fool you. The staff are really nice and the food is amazing . It's well priced and portion sizes are very good.

Really rely good fish and chips. Very busy at weekends. Very efficient and service is prompt. An extensive menu is on the board and suits all tastes and allergy menu
