An odd place to be selling food, but as far as chip shop type food goes - this place is miles ahead of the rest. Food is excellent, best chippy in town by a long way.

The Steel Yard Burger - locally sourced beef patty, cooked to a treat - juicy on inside, caramelised on outside - served with cheese, homemade onion rings, bacon and bbq sauce - served in a brioche bun. Without doubt. one of the best burgers in the area. and to be absolutely fair, I'm struggling to recall where I have had better! The chips were excellent. Hard to fault this catering trailer (to the side of the steel suppliers yard Landhead Road) - an absolute gem and well worth a visit. Had read many good/excellent reviews on facebook - took them originally with a 'pinch of salt' but I am now a convert and so glad we popped in. looking forward to sampling the other things on the menu.

Visited SteelYard for the very first time on Saturday past and I can safely say it'll be my first of many visits to this little gem of a food outlet! Breakfast sodas and baps, amongst other items, are served up using the finest of local meat, coupled with fantastic sauces (which really do have to be tried to discover how incredible they are!) My better half had a sausage and egg brioche bap with a spicy ketchup and said it was absolutely first class. All top quality ingredients and products, and cooked fresh to order in front of you. Picnic table to sit at and good craic was had with other patrons...it's a quality local and friendly affair there! I tried the 'mutha clucker burger' which consisted of a Steelyard secret recipe chicken fillet burger, topped with cheese, beautiful lean bacon and fresh slaw. I was recommended a spicy mayo which accompanied it superbly. If you like chicken fillet burgers, you simply MUST dedicate some of your time to sample one of these boyos!! It's a complete meal in itself; think KFC Zinger burger, but 50/60 times better: No lie. Whilst I was waiting on my order, two guys arrived and one of them jokingly declared that the staff were on course to making him skint as that was his fourth consecutive day visiting SteelYard for one of these burgers!! I think that says it all!! I also had a portion of chips, which were some of the freshest and best-tasting I have ever had the fortune of sampling. Apparently the potatoes are grown within the local area and are cut daily. I couldn't believe how fresh they are. I'll defs be returning sooner rather than later to try the other fantastic-sounding options that they have. Forget KFC and local chippies and cafes, folks; treat yourself to some far superior quality of food - you deserve it after all...!!! =oD

Had the joy of sampling a spicy chicken meal from the steel yard, i had their siracha mayo with it as a dip, have to say it lived up to its name, the coating was 1st class. Chicken was proper juicy, good quality fillet! Chips were fresh too. Definately be back, highly recommend.

Oh my days , this steel yard cafe does the best Chicken tenders in wee norn Ireland , mind you the sodas are something to behold , keep up the good work Mr Meat !
