Quite possibly the best view for a morning coffee I have ever had, and one of the best coffees I've had in Scotland

Honestly can't fault Fjara, been a perfect place to eat. Staff is very friendly. Visiting Shetland and Lerwick make sure you stop by for a meal or a nice drink. Can't fault Fjara.

Went for the evening fish and chips. Fantastic food quality. Great service. Only disappointment was the lack of a Lerwick Brewery draught beer. Oh and the prices of the other drinks. £6+ a pint is joke for Staropramen and Tennants. Shameful. Other than that the food and service was very good. Best in Lerwick I felt. Would recommend and return.

Busy little cafe with great coffee and service; only had a bacon roll to eat but it was good.

Lovely food and a great location. Slightly awkward customer service though. Nothing bad really, just when we walked in there was a slightly terse 'Can I help you?' rather than a warm welcome. Sounds daft written down though!

The aesthetic of the cafe is absolutely beautiful and it has a lovely view of the sea. It was absolutely mobbed when we went in the the atmosphere was lovely and pleasant. The staff are polite and courteous and it’s always a pleasure to go there

Delicious and coming from the states... Price was fair. The woman looked at me like I had two heads though when I ordered a dirty Chai latte.

Excellent food, friendly staff and surprisingly affordable. Was expecting to spend a lot more for what I got, honestly.

Good but a little overrated in the comments. The service remains quite basic.

Despite its name suggestive of Norwegian influence , it’s a very standard uk cafe. The cakes are large produced traybake. We went Friday 10 am for a coffee. I would say it’s for locals and we felt very unwelcome. We were told “should have booked, it’s Friday morning”. There were several empty tables that remained empty when we were there. Grudgingly we were offered seats a big table which was fine. The other 6 seats were and stayed empty. The coffee was scalding hot. I had a pancake with jam and butter. Pancake tasted like shop bought. The jam was English and the butter Irish. As far from Shetland produce as possible. The view is spectacular. In summary I’d travel a way to avoid this place.

We have come to Shetland several times and have never been there. This year we have already gone 5 times. A very nice place, the food and drinks are very, very good. Highly recommended

Nice location by the water. We had Hake, Salmon and Cullen Skink. Salmon tasted great, but was a hair over cooked. Cullen Skink was lovely. A definite recommendation if you go.

What amazing food. The Cullen Skink was buttery, unctuous and light. The pan-fried hake was so good that after my first mouthful, I almost swore out loud. The chocolate mousse was light, fluffy and delicious. The staff were great and the atmosphere was friendly. A great place for a meal.

Very nice place with a beautiful view. A dynamic team but a little scattered, which means that there is a lot of waiting and it is up to the customer to indicate what they ate when paying. As for the food, it's pretty good, the products are fresh. I recommend, and remember to book.

Unfortunately found this place too late to sample the food. Only had time for a tea and a coffee. Both really good. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly. Price was very reasonable. The place seemed to be busy with locals so hopefully they have enough trade to keep going. Excellent place all round

Busy coffee bar/lunchroom. I had not made a reservation, because I was alone I was able to attend. Lots of locals, so by definition good.

Wonderful views from this restaurant/cafe, even need to book for breakfast and definitely for dinner. Food was ok but could have been better, think people come for the views.

We've been travelling the World for the past 12 months, and this place is one of the best coffee houses we have found. As Aussie's we are a bit fussy with our coffee, but these guys nailed it, thank you. PS the pancake with maple syrup was delicious too 😋

A simple restaurant with a very good menu wonderfully prepared. The view is great. You must book in advance as it is very popular.

Amazing cafe just opposite Tesco on the bay looking over to Lerwick. We went for lunch and it was so good we went back for breakfast on our last day - both were so good. Very good service from friendly young staff. As it is so popular I'd recommend booking even for breakfast. The Cullen Skink was wonderful and the French Toast with bacon and maple syrup was perfect.

Great Food with scenic sea view

There's a buzz in this restaurant. The manager is aware of everything that is going on around him and is constantly working. My order somehow got mixed up and he was brilliant it was sorted out.

Great location looking out across the loch. Scampi and salmon were fresh and very tasty. The house white wine was good as was the coffee . Friendly service and all reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place especially when combined with a walk around the Knab.

My husband and I would like to thank the young man who fronts this cafe. We have now visited the place 3 times and we have always been greeted professionally consistently despite the cafe being busy. It is a pleasure watching him doing a wonderful job. The food is superb too.

I didn't really like how they treated me or how they are organized, it was a bit of chaos.

Enjoyed both a great breakfast and lovely evening meal here. The venue had great staff and great views. Highly recommend.

Peaceful cafe with great views to the sea! There are no tap beers but they do have amazing coffee and a wide variety of teas and 3 kind of non-alcoholic beverages selection.

Had Cullen skink (a fish and potato soup) which was very tasty . Nice coffee too.

The food and service is good but it is very expensive. I was satisfied by my fish 'n' chips but I was disappointed to know that it cost near £18. (TBH) I don't know why it was expensive but it isn't worth that much. Anyways, this only happens in Shetland.

Scampi is good , and fish and chips is good, fries not my favourite but its fine. Had a mocha and it taste fine, not too sweet but yet with enough flavour

Came during the week (Wednesday) few tourists which is very pleasant 😀. Fast service and rather comprehensive menu. Good local beer. We recommend. Life on the bay is very pleasant. But to get a good table you have to book in advance 😅

I have never had the misfortune to meet a waitress who has no charm and is, in fact, rude and curt. This lady was mature, a bit heavy, with short brown hair. I asked this lady for a table for one the cafe was empty and she was rude and said no as I hadn't booked. Two ladies came in after me and got seated without a booking. The waitress seemed to know them. I have been working in Shetland and told many local people about my experience. To my horror, she is well known for her rudeness. Why she works in hospitality is beyond me—horrible encounter with a human being when looking for a coffee and sandwich. Hopefully, if you visit, this vile lady is on her days off. From what I saw, the surroundings are lovely.

Dined alone whilst on business. Discreet table so didn’t feel conspicuous, staff attentive despite being very busy. Food was amazing, came recommended and I can definitely see why.

Fresh caught haddock. Absolutely delicious. The skinny fries were cooked perfectly.

It is just a cafe at the end of the day. It is pricey for a cafe, the food was good but I don't think it should be trying to do fancy food with fancy prices...stick to being a really good cafe with good food.

I and my partner arrived without a reservation. I didn’t feel warm welcome from the senior staff. The view and atmosphere of the cafe is marvelous. It has a big parking lot if you have a car. We ordered two cups of matcha tea. At first, the younger staff served us two glasses of matcha apple, which we didn’t not order, and she is kind enough to give me a correct one later, which I will not recommend because it doesn’t have smell or taste of matcha just milk. I also ordered a cheese scone with jam and butter, which I recommend. It is crunchy outside and soft inside. My partner ordered five scoops of ice creams, which I will not recommend. In sum, if I can choose again I will order coffee as others said it is good. We came for afternoon tea so we ordered only desserts. It is good for take a dit and enjoy the view.

Very nice cafe with friendly staff, large selection, and great views of the sea. Walk up was very windy, so it was great to sit inside and watch the waves while eating. Close to Clickimin Broch, so stop off before or after you go there to have some food and warm up!

First ever visit, had lunch, the service was excellent, attentive and patient. The food was really good, and I mean really good! The surroundings were magnificent. It did help too the company I had was dazzling but I have to say I would highly recommend this restaurant. I have travelled much and this ranks with anywhere!! Top place, top staff and top food. Coffee’s very good too. Catered for gluten free companion. I’ll be back definitely!

Delicious food with a view to match. The seafood stew was amazing and probably enough as a main! The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The cakes looked fabulous, but I was too full of burger to get one in. Really top notch stuff. I watched the bay turn from day to night in this cosy place and enjoyed every second of it.

Food's the most important bit and it (small breakfast) was great if somewhat over meaty. But the well-lit space and staff elevated it. A welcome find after my overnight ferry.

Delicious gluten free monkfish scampi with chips and salad. Highly recommend. Very busy so best to reserve a table. Unfortunately we didn't get a window table as just the two of us but still had a view. Staff lovely.

Having heard about the Cafe for a long time, it was fantastic to experience it first hand.

Our first port of call from the ferry, we called in for breakfast. There was a queue at the door when it opened, we could see why. The food is excellent, the service friendly and efficient, well priced too. Highly recommended.

Loved it. Nice position, tasty food, good atmosphere and a team that works well together. Obviously a well liked place because it was busy throughout the time I was there.

Come for the view, stay for the food. Beautiful place, with a really nice menu full of great options! Good service and awesome chef. Friendly to the vegetarians as well! ;)

Very nice food very nice place to eat and drink.

Great spot to eat and if you're lucky you can spot the local otter searching amongst the rocks whilst you eat.

Opposite the Tesco supermarket and about halfway round the "Lerwick walk" we popped in and it was absolutely busy. Managed to get a seat and had some late breakfast. Views across the bay, service very good, food great recommend but probably should book

Often very busy, but great coffee, food, and sweets. Service can be a bit slow when they are very busy, but results are top notch. Friendly staff.
