Fiveways Diner in Newry and Mourne

Did not know it was reopened. Hungry and called in for a fill up before tea. It looks so bright and clean now. I took a seat and was greeted by a gaggle of young friendly smiling girls,all giddy and gossipy. Still they were easy on the eye and very friendly. I ordered a sausage roll and a latte. But I was hungry so J ordered another sausage roll and got an extra shot in the coffee as it was weakish. I recommend it fully. At £6.00 pricey. Sausage roll was £1.75 each and not big. But a treat now and agajn is fine.

Terrible food. Terrible service. Dirty. Food is microwaved. Do not have the lasagne. Chef rude! I saw the chef bullying a waitress. I would not recommend going here. Food very dry. Also the place is very dirty.

Breakfast in Fiveways is the best in Newry. Most other restaurants serve very greasy breakfasts but Fiveways is perfect every time. Also as the tea is included in the price it is good value. Their roast beef dinners are excellent also and they have a good variety on the menu. The staff are pleasant and hard working as they are nearly always busy. I frequent this diner at least once a week.

On arrival the place was very busy, however, this is no excuse for such filth when there is so much staff! the seats where covered in food, the tables where very dirty to and cleaned to very poor standard. Then the cutlery arrived which was Very unclean and stained! The glasses arrived dirty aswell! The floors where covered in food to! Shocking for a place to sit down and enjoy a meal in! Food wasn’t great either got the order order wrong aswell WONT BE BACK!

Going downhill badly with each visit. Wait staff too busy hanging around chatting to each other to clean tables and serve customers. Hygiene training badly needed - long, unbrushed hair not tied back properly. Should be in a hair net or plaited at least. Long grubby fingernails, excessive makeup or makeup that looks like night before makeup. Dirty uniforms, untidy appearance. Staff member standing sucking in her finger then serving customers - touching plates etc - same staff seen sneezing into her hand several times. Never washed her hands once. Waitresses too busy batting eyelashes at chefs than anyone do any actual work. Same chef also flicking dirty tea-towel repeatedly over food to try hit a waitress. During this entire time there was 6 tables left uncleared or wiped down. Needs serious staff training and competent team leader in place to direct staff. Seems the owner is content to take on teenagers, pay them buttons and spend nothing on training them. Only saving grace is the food is a hit more often than a miss. In saying that, the place is last on our list of choices to go to.

Waited 40 mins for breakfast , all of which were straight forward orders , toast was toasted in a panini machine , food was just ok , not the warmest, 4 staff behind the counter and one on the floor , not rocket science !!!!! Couldnt pay individually, which in fairness is ok , it was the attitude of the waitress , sorry , just too many other cafes available to go too !!!!!

Always love the sea food chowder with garlic bread. Lots of fish and creamy juice. I reckon it may be frozen portions and reheated because it is so hot. But so what it is lovely. The restaurant is clean and the young ladies on tonight were efficient servers. Sometimes it can be hit and miss. At around 7stg it is fair and I will be back and recommend it.

Really enjoyed the American diner style food and venue, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We had fish gouging and chips, a BLT sandwich and a chicken burger. All very tasty and delivered in good time. Not a crumb left over. Price wise very reasonable.

The only thing worse than the food is the service. Have been here a few times, seems to get worse with every visit. Service is awful, girls more interested in chatting to each other than providing customer service. Food nowhere near worth the price. Wouldn’t go back. Oh, and they’ve put some nice suspension / wheel damaging ramps in the carpark now too.

The menu is quite extensive Everything coming out of the kitchen looked good We had southern chicken goujons and fish and it was terrific The diner is very pleasant and the staff were excellent

Well the service is pretty slow, but I must say it's well worth the wait because the poached eggs are amazing cooked to perfection. The chef Linda is so helpful and friendly

Sitting here almost an hour after I ordered a breakfast. Never ever again. Totally ridiculous. I could have driven to McDonald's across the road and had a meal and then done the shopping in the time I've been waiting. It isn't busy here but I know why so many people have got up and left.

So we called into Fiveways on Saturday for a 'quick' bite to eat. 2 adults 3 kids. We all ordered bagels/toasties/soup or sandwich. Order was taken by a lovely member of staff, he was quick and efficient and quote funny. Drinks delivered and then it all went downhill slowwwly. Whether they forgot about us or what I do not know, but almost 40 minutes later we had still not received our food yet people sitting around us that had come in later than us were almost finished their meals, (proper meals of chips, burgers, fish etc). How long does it take to make a sandwich or toastie? certainly not 40 minutes. we asked a young girl what was keeping the food and were told I don't know, so at this stage we got up to leave and asked to speak to the manager (that we knew) to be advised there's a new fella started and he's useless! not a sorry about that or don't worry about your drinks, we still had to pay for them even though they were left sitting on the table. needless to say will never set foot in here again.. Butchers lost out on sales too as we were that cross we didn't even bother with the meat we wanted.. 3 starving kids later we went to genoa sat down ordered and had our meals within 5 minutes, piping hot and freshly made! - well done Genoa!

Really disappointed. Sat down got our menus then could not attract three young Waitresses,more interested in gabling. Ordered roast beef salad with wheaten bread,and chicken burger meal with tea. After ten minutes or so my salad arrived minus the wheaten bread and the ordered salad cream. Wheaten bread came,then later they brought caesar dressing instead of salad cream. Eventually got it changed. The salad was so small compared to normal. But worse was to come. The burger meal arrived after 15 minutes and guess what it was a beefburger not the chicken burger meal ordered. The waitress offered no explanation but took the meal away chips and all. They stuck the chips under the hot plate,instead of preparing a fresh meal. My friend was now hungry so asked for them back. Fifteen minutes went by and no chicken burger,so he went up to the counter to ask the young girl,who asked a front of house chef. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. Replying '' it's coming naow!''. So it took 15 minutes to get a replacement chicken burger. Tea was now cold and they brought my friend no cutlery after taking it away earlier. Took 45 minutes at least to get the meals completed. When I went to pay and complain the young girl could give no discount and manageress had gone and no one in authority was there. She took my phone number to pass on to manageress. Food was ok but much smaller portions than usual,terrible waiter service and complete cock up in every aspect of our visit. Such a shame for what used to be a buzzing great venue.

Highly recommended. Come here often with my family and always receive great food and service. Pricing of food is reasonable

Me and my family went in for lunch and the waitress was down in seconds with a happy and cheery smile which means alot in service nowadays and as wee were waiting for our order she had took down some paper and pencils for my son and i think her name was (beth) i ordered a large fry and i was busted it really hit the spot, my wife had sausage chips and beans and really enjoyed it and my son had gravy and mash he enjoyed it because he cleaned the whole lot.

Called in for breakfast before a 12 mile walk, very nice place food lovely and very pleasant staff, called back after our walk, the range of food on offer is great, the dessert cabinet amazing selection, fresh made cake, and the service great, especially Claire, thanks a lot highly recommend this for a visit

Ordered 2 breakfasts with tea. The waitress lost our order. Waited about 25mins for the order, noticing that everyone else was getting their drinks and orders. We were asked twice by other staff whether we were ok and we said that we had ordered but they obviously they never checked on the order. Finally we asked where our order was and then they realised that it was lost/not put through. We just left. I'd recommend not going in and just go across the road to McDonald's or Costa.

visited here for the 3rd time with my work colleague, we waited a long time to be served. the staff did not pay any attention to us at all. the staff were snappy , rude and unhelpful. this place has gone down hill badly , customer service training and staff hygine wouldnt go a miss. very disapointing.

Amazing chicken burger dinner. Haven't had a good one like it since. Fresh chicken. Salad was amazing individual mayo in tubs not from pkts. Just found it very good value for money

Ordered the special when it came down i noticed 2 flies in the veg which is cooked and kept in the hot food bar. When I told the waitress she said she could get me another portion of veg. When i pointed out the fly was in the veg from the hot food bar and everyone in the place was eating it she said yeah happens all the time as the girls forget to close the screen on it. I said I didn't want it replaced and myself and my partner didn't want our food. She cleared the plates and tried to bill us for the food I refused to pay and the manager was called who continued to say we could have eaten it she then inspected the plate's and said the flies were tiny. I was disgusted i left the money for the drinks and left. Needless to say i will not be returning! Filthy and disgusting!

Called into Fiveways today to get a quick bite from their deli but then I noticed their restaurant so decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did! It was quite busy but we were given menus quickly and within a few minutes our order was taken by a lovely girl. I had the stirfry special and my friend has the roast beef dinner both were absolutely beautiful and such portions.

I have visited Fiveways diner a lot recently and I have to say it’s a great place to go.

I love Fiveways Diner- we go here all the time, the food is lovely and so are the girls. I have tried lots of things soups, sandwiches & burgers and have no complaints.

Myself and my husband stopped off here for fuel and decided to have a quick bite to eat. We both had fish and chips which was very good but you normally get mushy peas served with this dish and there was none on this occasion, we should have ordered them separately but didn't think about it when placing order. Other than that the food was very good and service was swift and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful.

Last week I ordered a cheese omelette as I am a vegetarian. Guess what I got? I got a processed chicken cheese omelette. The staff were not worried, there attitude was awful.

Ordered Chicken with side salad and coleslaw. I got crazy amount of chips with 4 chicken pieces and a little rub of coleslaw with side salad which was brown already. Salad wasn’t edible. Returned the portion.

Took waitress 15 minutes to notice us.Took another 20mins for our food to arrive.Two bagels and scrambled egg and toast with tea was£ 16.40.My scrambled egg was not fully cooked.WON'T go there again.Cafe in bessbrook better value and food fantastic

Waited 15 minutes to get menus, had to go up and get them myself. Staff were quick with tone and snappy (rude). As expected another 15 minutes to come take our order. Food took a ridiculous time, staff were doing nothing and avoiding customers. When we actually got the food it was awful. The eggs were practically raw (scrambled eggs and fried eggs) bacon was fatty and very salted. Everything was gross, didn't even want to look at my meal. Won't be back again

ordered two full breakfasts, waited for forty minutes,went up to the till and told the staff that we were in a hurry and if we didn,t get our food in the next five minutes we were leaving.Will not eat here again because when the food did arrive some of the meats were not half cooked. They need mature staff to work in this place as the young girls dont seem to care about customer service.

Called on a not too busy day. Ordered our lunch and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Place nearly empty. Yet we were invisible. When I went to the till after 39 minute wait I was told the order did not go through.

I've eaten here on a number of occasions.........food is reasonably good, and reasonably priced, but service generally leaves a lot to be desired. Called in on Sunday last (Mother's Day) for brunch.....place was busy, but not terribly so..... but we had to go get our own menus, after a 5 minute wait. Table was dirty, hadn't been cleaned from last customer, and after a further ten minutes of being ignored by the two waiting staff (one of whom had ample time to sit down and have a bit of craic with friends at the next table) we left without ordering. Not the first time we have found the service poor, but it will be the last.

Stopped in last month for a bite with associates as it was easy parking.

This was my second time in the diner. Said I wouldn't return after the first but unfortunately this time wasn't my choice. Dirty tabled not cleared despite not being overly busy. Thankfully the assistant cleared one promptly and was pleasant.

Stop by when shopping in the retail park across the road, food wasn’t bad but nothing to write home about , coffee was good though. Staff friendly enough and no problem getting parked

We would eat here maybe once a month and food has always been fairly good but today it was terrible. We ordered the fish goujons special but out came these 6 little balls of batter which no more look like goujons but more like nuggets and had very little fish in them. The peas served were hard, frozen peas not cooked and the chips which are usually brilliant were hard and dried out like they were reheated several times and charged at £7.95 was very over priced.

Came for a quick lunch and there was no clean tables so sat at a dirty one. Waited 20mins before someone came to clean it and then another 30mins before anyone took our order.

Had the roast beef so nice plus plenty of vegetables very clean establishment staff very friendly worth a visit well priced

my sister went for a salad which was rather poor half the stuff was missing like the egg and bettrot and when I called the waitress over to explain she did say sorry about that as she ran passed my table not taking the time or letting me see if anything else was missing we did receive two of the missing items

The food here is always a good standard, but repeatedly the service is diabolical. Have any of these girls included the so called manager ever had any basic training, because it really is awful they do not appear to have any designated area to serve and as I have experienced on many occasions numerous tables that arrive after you will be serviced before you. You would also assume that Basic food hygiene would require hair to be neatly tied back, make up should be minimal and chipped acrylic talons would be a definite no no but not here!!

Cuando la chica nueva finalmente me pongo a atenderme el tamaño de la porción era muy pobre y nada cerca de costumbre cantidad. El servicio es muy pobre del personal que creo que es fiveways más importante limpio hasta llegar a casa, en vez de servir a sus clientes. Tenía una duda sobre la comida y no conseguir una respuesta satisfactoria. Alguien tenía que salir para ahorrar el día. Personal de cinco maneras que necesita hacer mejor. 0 de 10 para servicio al cliente.

Visit here on regular basis, service can be extremely haphazard with long waits to be served and have food delivered. The wait staff are young and lack proper training in places - there are some great girls there, namely the manager (slim, dark haired girl who will obv be going on maternity leave shortly) and a tall blonde girl, very efficient and friendly. After the sometime wait the food can make up for these faults, Sunday dinner never leaves us disappointed, good quality meat, plenty of veg and delicious garlic potatoes. We always get takeaway stew or dinner for family fresh from the hot food counter and the restaurant waitresses are always happy to fetch this and include all on same bill. The wait can sometimes be maddening and there has been the very odd occasion where the food has disappointed but more often than not, it's good. We keep returning so that says it all really.

A great location enroute to Dublin. Very busy, but quickly seated by very friendly down to earth staff. Food is good value, with a wide range catering for everyone. Atmosphere is bustling and good for young children.

Food is lovely in Fiveways Diner, sometimes you may have a bit of a wait but well worth it. Sunday lunch is lovely and not as long a wait.

Was here today at lunch. Had to ask for menus (but every time I've been here that seems to be the case). Ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli, when it arrived it looked very nice, well presented. The ravioli itself tasted nice from what I could taste of it. The plate/pasta was swimming in a sauce which I can say tasted only of cream. There was no flavour whatsoever of the sauce and that's not a nice addition to pasta. There was tomato and onion in it but it looked as if the cream was added to the pan swished around and served out. My partners food on the other hand looked lovely, got the Georgia goujons which I've had before and they are delicious. Will definitely not order this of the menu again. Also not many choices for vegetarian, this seemed to be the only item on the menu other than salad.

Had a very nice lunch on a Sunday was busy enough food didn't take long to arrive service was very good food was enjoyed by all in our group

We have eaten in fiveways diner many times and have always been happy with the food ,the sunday dinners are absolutely gorgeous their garlic potatoes are the nicest you will get ,the staff are all very pleasant, friendly and accommodating will definitely be back.

Great for scotch eggs, burritos scones is always a safe option. I don't bother with cafe. There's toilets.

It can be a bit expensive. The dinners look big but I only had a carry out dinner and it was a slap,if you know what I mean.I like their salads and they are big.Sausage sodas my favourite. Full fried too dear. Chips only small portions.Soups are very nice at under 4 pounds.Sea food chowder absolute best dish here. I think it's 6 quid with garlic bread. Mmmmh.Coffees OK.It's a handy spot with lots of parking. Worth a try.And service still happy hazard.

Where do I start, came in with my mum and was given menus. I seen there was a special on, 'beef burgonuion' so I ordered it. My mum ordered a BLT toastie. After 30 minutes and watching other customers that arrived after us receive their meals, our food arrived. First impression of the look alone of my plate of food was not good! I am a qualified chef and this by far is not a beef burgonuion! Sauce was oily and tasted like a jar of dolmio bolognese sauce, beef showed evidence of being heated in the microwave as it was crusty on top. It is clear there is unqualified cooks in this establishment. Even something simple like the 'mash' I received was like eating butter and cream alone. For my mums toastie it was just as disappointing, bread soggy as it was only lightly toasted in a toaster and filling just slapped into it, temperature - look warm. It does not take a chef even to put a decent toastie together. We gave our feedback to the cashier who laughed,apologized and said she didn't know. We where charged the full bill. I recommend that the staff cooking, take a moment to research dishes before putting them on the menu. As I was taught in chefing, a chef should always taste the food that they have decided to put on the menu.

Went here sat 10th dec at approx 2.30; plenty of tables were occupied but it wasnt overly busy; ordered a kids meal; 2 wraps; 1 portion of chips; tea for 1 & 1 diet coke; was charged £25.40! I questioned the bill & was so shocked to see that a 500ml bottle of diet coke was £2.85 that i never looked at the rest of the bill! Definitely was overcharged! The kids meal was luke warm & tiny portion; my wrap.had been left on the toaster too long & the bottom was burnt! Not once did a waitress come over to see where we ok!! So disappointed because fiveways as a hole is a great shop but we definitely wont be eating in the diner again!! -such a waste of money

Went to fiveways restaurant with my 82 year old mother and left after 45 minutes of watching other people who arrived after me get served. Staff told me we were next and I got to watch another two tables get served after me I decided I had been belittle enough and left rather embraced by this very public treatment.

food is ok I wouldn't rush back if i was up that way and hungry would probably pop in. i think the food is actually nicer in the actual hot food part in five ways shop. it seems to be busy everytime we go up. it is a lovely place and looks great.

Myself and my partner and my dad stopped here for a bite to eat. We were greeted by the staff and made our way to the seats. We were giving our menus and giving plenty of time to browse over them before ordering. We all went for the special Hake in breadcrumbs and Chips and peas. Well I have to say clean plates all around its was very nice indeed. Nice and hot and tasty. We will no doubt be back very soon

I never, ever complain about any restaurant but today I need to. Surely customer service is a must? Today I came here for dinner and wasn't greeted at all, the member of staff threw the menus on our table and quickly left without greeting us. I was so disappointed and uncomfortable. She then finished off her conversation with another member of staff and attended our table and had an awful manner. It's not nice to sit in such a nice place with such rude, unwelcoming staff. It's one of the main reasons people go to a restaurant. We love coming here as a treat as it has such lovely vibes usually but today it wasn't great and I'm sad to say that me and my partner won't be back.

Good down to earth decent nosh served by lovely staff, reasonably priced good selection and especially love their Sunday dinner. Have visited many times.

Myself and my kids went to the Fiveways Diner on Monday 12th September 2016 at approximately 12.30. My son ordered the kids meal chicken burger and chips, my daughter had a sandwich and chips and I had a scone and coffee. We asked for a jug of water but instead were handed 2 glasses of water. When the food was served, I noticed that there was a long, black piece of hair amongst my sons chips. I immediately called for the waitresses attention and she apologised, took away the meal but came back with it straight away. I appreciate the speedy service but how they would manage to replace a dish so quickly is beyond me. I asked for a fresh meal but this would not have been possible within this space of time. When I went to pay, I was asked was everything okay. Obviously, my answer was no but the lady at the till was not happy to hear this. In fact she didn't seem to believe me. "Hand on heart, it has never happened before." She said that she could only offer me a small discount however it is evident from the receipt that a discount was not applied. The thing that annoyed me most was the attitude of the girl at the till as she did not accept responsibility for the incident rather than the incident itself. I was basically called a liar as apparently this has never happened before. I will not be back in a hurry, if at all.

Went here recently (28th July 2016) for some food before I went to work, the diner was busy but we were able to get a table. Waitress came over and gave us their menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. We had a quick look over the menus and the waitress was back again to take our food order. I ordered the chicken goujons with chips and side salad and my boyfriend ordered the lasagna with chips and side salad. When our food arrived the waitress didn't ask us if we needed anything else, I had to get up and go to the counter and ask for vinegar and sauce for my goujons. My boyfriend couldn't eat his lasagna, it looked awful! He only ate two mouthfuls, said there was no taste to it was bland. My chicken goujons weren't good either, tasted like they had been sitting for a while and we're then just heated up. They were very dry. During our time there, none of the waitress came over and asked us if everything was alright or if we needed anything. There was plenty of waiting staff about too. Very disappointing!

I used to love this place and took my friends but the last 2 times i have eaten their it was very poor the chicken strips where hard to cut or eat the soap was cold and my sandwich had no butter or spread on it .the only good thing was the staff

Have just been to fiveways diner for yet again another lovely meal. Top class food, service, and very reasonable price. Defiantly worth a visit. I for sure will b back for the friendly atmosphere and the lovely food.

I agree that service is hap hazard. Most of staff are ok but there a couple of cheeky young females. I have had to complain to manageress about them and lack of service. But she is very efficient and quick. Food seems to take ages and is very over priced.I love their sea food chowder which used to be £5 but it was raised to £6.00 and that's a big increase. Their other soups are lovely and the salads are massive and scrumptious if a tad dead.i also like sausage soda. Breakfast complete and Burger meals are not worth the dear prices. Lunches look big but take ages and around £8 too dear..it is a clean and busy place and I do visit regular but for the foods I mentioned.

While visiting my ill Father-in-law, I was told about this diner. We had a brilliant breakfast. everything tasted so fresh. Sausages were amazing. Staff were friendly and we were pleased with the price. Would visit again if we were in the area

Went for snack my wife got chicken sandwich meal it was very poor ,l all so got a new yorker meal which was just ok. The staff member who served me was very friendly. I went to the toilet but because it was so very dirty l came back out staff must not checked it all day there was water and wee and paper every were. I would never go back ever again

Disappointed in the service as l had been here before. Table no.2 fri eve 7 30pm, food order mixed up chips very hard not fresh. Told staff, they said they would let manager know next morning. That was little benefit to me as l had taken two friends and told them we would have a good bite to eat here. Big let down & staff indifferent.

Five ways Diner is just off the Newry bypass in the same area as Lidl, B&Q, Halfords, Curry & more, retail parkIt's connected to five ways off licence, petrol station & supermarket.Called in for breakfast into the American themed dinner ( lots of Red and White colours )The full breakfast is on the menu under the heading Grease Lighting.For a Sunday morning it was about two thirds full but the service was really prompt and efficient.The breakfast consisted of two sausages, two bacon, mushrooms, soda bread, potatoes bread, fried egg and a small bowl of baked beans. All items were good and freshly cooked. A decent size pot of tea ( not one of your one cup and a little jobs ) topped it off and all for £5.95.Super value, super service, super clean. I noted the diner was licensed with wine & beer in the cooler.Highly recommended for a stop.

called here for a quick bite,should not have bothered, now the food was not to bad but would have been a lot better hot, and that was not the fault of the kitchen i would think, as i saw it coming out but it was left to sit under lights for so long, even my bread crumbs got soggy:( , as i was waiting for my food i saw one of the waitresses making up a salad for someone, glad it wasn't me, she had no gloves on for a start then after she poured on what i took as dressing from a jug she wiped the top of the jug with her finger and licked it, then put the hand she licked into the carrots and put it over the salad , and on top of all that the floor was full of food which had been dropped from plates, as they would rather walk it in than clean it,so at the end of the day the food quite good if hot but hygiene not great from what i saw anyway.

Husband asked for the chicken maryland, it arrived without chips. But thinking they where possibly arriving on a different plate, rather than be rude we waited to see. No chips arrived. We called over a waiter. To be told 'the chicken maryland doesnt come with chips' Wait what.? Yep. No chips with a chicken maryland, and if he wanted chips, he would have to make do with his dinner being heated in the microwave as it would be a while. And the chip would be £? onto the bill, sorry I didnt quite catch the amount as I was still in shock. The manor of the young guy, who i'm guessing was around 14years of age was awful too. Needless to say we left. Still hungry, and very annoyed. We only stopped in for a quick bite on our way to the hospital. This place used to be our regular "stop in' but has went majorly downhill since being taken over. I will never be back!

Really good tasty food, well presented and served. Excellent value for money. Friendly staff and very clean surroundings.

Went to breakfast with child this morning and i asked him were he wanted to go he told me fiveways. I thought give it another go it might not be as bad,weellllllll the service was still very lack but it was 9am so what do i expect. We ordered sausage beans and toast to my suprise the best part was the beans. The sausage was reheated and the toast was like cardboard thankfully had the beans to soften the bread. Even my 4year old said he couldnt eat the toast. So i gave it a second chance and i still would not recommend it.

I frequent the Fiveways to meet up with friends and have a coffee. I have eaten here a few times and always give then the benefit if the doubt...., not anymore!!I ordered scrambled egg and bacon with a very nice girl, Michelle. She is the most professional and friendly member of staff. Nice girl.When the order arrived the "scrambled" egg had not been whisked properly and was swimming in grease. It had obviously been thrown into a pan of oil and pushed about abit with a fork. It tasted vile as did the bacon which was dried out and quite horrible.My husband ordered something similar and felt the same about his. Actually his scrambled egg was big lumps of hard yoke and big lumps of white..... This diner is part of the Fiveways shopping complex and they do have a fab selection in the grocery department. It is obvious, however, that the food cooked in the diner is cheap slop and cooked by untrained masterless chefs who haven't a clue about food.This has happened to many times and it's the last time I'm going to waste my money and leaving with the need for a sweet to get the taste of the food out of my mouth....... Absolutely rotten!

I went into fiveways for lunch, to start the service was very lack and the waitress seemed more interested in her phone buzzing in her April pocket. While waiting on the food the manager/supervisor smashed a plate coming of the hatch she never even checked the food around it to see if it strayed and then for the rest of our meal the smashed plate remaind on the counter without anyone cleaning it. The food was OK and the chips we could eat as the rest were black was OK. The chef picking stuff out of the bin and not Wasing his hands was the last straw.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon, place was busy, took a while for menus but overall nice enough. Ordered fish & chips, fish was quite soggy but chips were very yummy.

Have been here several times for breakfast and lunch. Staff are not overly friendly but do a good job. The beans are always cold with the fry and the eggs overlooked but if hungry it is sufficient.

Stopped here for lunch today on the way to the shops.... Pretty average on all parts. Dad had a burger which was quite nice filling but the onion rings were cooked in the same oil as fish and tasted. The burger meat looked cheap quality.I had the Indian curry which was quite spicy and had a funny taste like washing liquid as if the pot hadn't been rinsed properly. My mum had a toaster that at £4.50 was quite over priced as the side salad with it was tiny.

The restaurant was packed but service was fast food came fast and was well priced. A varied menu which caters for everyone

Had a nice dinner and milkshake here, its very family friendly and my son enjoy his dinner and the friendly stuff. Defo be back

Went here on Sunday past. The beef was uncuttable, like leather, vegetables were cold, as usual, as no matter how many times i inform them that the thing that is SUPPOSED to keep the pre-cooked food hot is not at a high enough temperature, the roast potatoes, were also cold, due to the fact that almost all of the food out here is pre cooked and kept lukewarm, so the roasties were tough skinned, as well as cold. Tasted like cold school dinners, due to everything being pre cooked and then siting drying up under a heat lamp, that by the time Damien,the sour faced chef, comes to carve it it is do dried up he can slice it wafer thin, almost taking his finger off to get it so thin. Kieran, the head chef should be ashamed of himself. As for deserts, please please get a new pastry chef who can cook

Fiveway's Diner is a great wee spot, authentic looking american diner with some of the most polite and attentive staff around. The food is fantastic and I can only complain about the fact that I always have to leave something behind as the portions are unbelievably large for such a great price. Visit frequently, sometimes for a meal and sometimes for cake and coffee and whichever it is, I have no complaints. The staff are polite and happy to have a bit of craic with you and really seem to care about your service - which is something all restaurants could do with! Sometimes I have had to wait on a table or wait on my food but the waiting staff are so helpful and keep you informed as to whats happening with your food and if its taking a while, why. This helps the overall service and when the food is that good, at that price, with that service there is nothing really you can complain about! I would definitely recommend Fiveway's Diner to anyone; 10/10 for food 10/10 for service. I will absolutely be back again!

On arrival the 'Fiveways Diner' was buzzing with most seats taken by families and couples. The staff were very accommodating in getting us a seat and relaying the sunday specials. We ordered the Duck Spring Rolls which came recommended by our waitress Deirbhile, when they came they were delicious and piping hot!.We will definetly go back to this restaurant...friendly staff and great food and great cooks....what more could anyone want! Furthermore the chef came to our table to enquire how we enjoyed our food, this personal touch is what makes a good restaurant 5* in 5ways.

Hidden inside this petrol station is a large shopping complex and american diner. Quick, well priced and delicious! Highly recommened!

Delighted with the food and service. What more could you ask for when the chef on duty the charming Ciaran encourages you to have a sample of one of his speciality dishes. What a treat he had in store - mouth watering fresh Hake with Crab. We've been to many eateries up and down the country and on this occasion we were more than pleased. Being regular diners in 5ways it was lovely to get the VIP treatment. Staff are always well presented and courteous and we will continue to visit 5ways and recommend it to others. Well done to all.

I have nothing bad to say about five ways diner apart from the fact - I CAN NEVER FINISH MY DINNER! The portions are fantastic. The staff are fantastic. The wait for the food can be long but it is worth the wait! Whether you're getting a cheap carvary to go on a Sunday or sitting in the diner you will get more than you paid for as the quality and portions are beyond what you would expect. Well done!

Often visit the diner with my family, brilliant service and fantastic food! Couldn't recommend it more! Customer service is always great and the food never disappoints.

The Sunday dinners from fiveways are to die for. Usually I would get these dinners to take out, and nearly enough food in one for two people. Absolutely beautiful food.

I met a friend here for a meeting over dinner on Wednesday and as always it was bunged with the 100 seat capacity at over 80% occupied. We both ordered the Indian style curry on a previous recommendation and were not disappointed A generous portion (i struggled to get it finished) which was tasty and came with both rice and fries. in addition to the great food the service was excellent the waiting staff were pleasant and helpful and more that attentive they took our order and returned with the food in a timely manner. The most pleasant surprise was at the tills as the value for money was excellent. PS I also had a great cappuccino and home made German Biscuit.

Myself and my fiancé visit Fiveways diner quite regularly! Every time we go we have a good experience! The food is great and the staff are lovely and attentive.Each day there are a variety of specials as well as a very extensive menu which is not over priced! The diner is always busy especially at lunch time but we don't mind having to wait a bit longer as the food is always worth the wait. Would definitely recommend Fiveways diner to anyone.

We went here for a late lunch after it being recommended to us. Sorely disappointed with the thrown together food and slow service. This was not the fault of the staff but as a result of a severe lack of floor staff. It is not fair to expect three waitresses to stretch across a 70% full restaurant at the lunch rush and well done to them for keeping things going! I'm not an entrepreneur or business owner but I would strongly advise hiring more staff as 8 people walked out of the restaurant during our visit as a result of poor service.. What a shame!

Yeah, obviously someone was trying to get the "Old Fashioned American Diner " vibe going here but either didn't do their homework or didnt have the courage to go for it properly. The decor is ok, seems a little bare and finished on the cheap. As there is no-one to greet you, it is a little confusing when you enter. There is a typical serve-over type counter so you don't know whether to get a table or queue up. Servers are pleasant and smiley but on our visit just didnt seem to be doing a very good job. The place was dirty, stains on the seats, rubbish on the floor etc. The menu's are tatty and the food is a hodepodge, Sort of a mix of what someone thought was Yank diner food and the typical ordinary offer that every place in the town seems to have. In fairness, the burger was ok, shakes not very nice. The sauve bottle were gunky and needed a wipe down,, There is a near empty fridge along wall with a few fruit shoots instead of a full fridge with a variety of drinks. As there is a stocked shop next door this is silly.....This place could be decent but needs a guiding hand that knows the concept they seem to be reaching for. With Eddie Rockets now open in town, and bunged all the time having nailed the theme properly, it seems like this place is destined to be forgettable. Sorry, would've liked to give better review

Fiveways has it all great shopping excellent food great value for money. Food is great meat counter is excellent.great bargains for doing your weekly shop

Service average, one had my food spill off my plate onto my lap as the waitress was putting it on our table, another couple of times we've had to wait unsuitably long waiting times on ordering and receiving our food even though it wasn't busy, we've also had to chase up parts of our orders on a couple of occasions. But all in all the food is good, when you get it. We will be back but could rate it higher if staff were more attentive on waiting the table.

I went here recently and ordered a burger. I asked for specific veg and a sauce to be added to it. Nothing else. They came back with two veg I asked for, and also onions which I did not ask for and they also did not put on the sauce I asked either. The chicken was nice enough though.

Excellent place to go with the children. Has a family friendly atmosphere and is always busy!The menu has a bit of every thing and at a great price.

Having been here on several occasions, I have made the following observations.Apart from one waitress who is lovely, the staff are unable to take your order correctly. They also cannot bring your order to your table in one go, so that you can all eat at the same time. Your food comes out at intervals, or not at all on occasion.The most recent meal I had was a dried up roast beef dinner in watery gravy (extra gravy 75p!). Despite the fact that my order came from the hot food counter, it was cold by the time it made it to our table! The childrens portions are usually very generous, but this evening we were charged 75p extra (per burger) for mayonnaise on the children's two burgers and 75p for lettuce on my wife's burger. A further 75p was charged for a small plastic glass of diluted juice for a baby. What's next, charging 75p for a shake of salt and 75p for a splash of vinegar? That extra £3.00 this evening just tipped us over. It annoyed us so much, that we will never be back.

My boyfriend and I eat here regularly, the food is great for the price..it would probably be one off our favourite places to go for dinner.. I just think the waitresses could be a bit more friendly and welcoming when we were in today I felt like it was a big issue for them to even give us a menu I over heard another waitress tell other customers that they had specials on,it would have been nice for us to have been told the same information we enjoyed what we had ordered anyway
