Five Spice in Bromsgrove

Have visited previously, food and service were good as usual. We had a mixture of people in our group with different dietary requirements (meat and vegetarian) and all enjoyed their food. Lovely restaurant, very modern and clean.

First time here. Starters were lovely. Chicken Pakora for partner, Saag for me. We both had tandoori Chicken Dhansak with pilau rice. Always our main in a new restaurant a d it didn't disappoint. The one disappointing thing for us both were the poor quality paper napkins....surely proper cloth ones would fit this lovely place better!

Delicious curry, great flavours and very authentic. Would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant and for take aways.

Wonderful venue. It is now up there with the very best we've even visited. As a vegetarian the choice is sometimes a little poor but not at Five Spice- A huge selection of vegetarian dishes. The staff and management are amazing. And the food? Stunningly brilliant 👍♥️👍♥️

We arrived at 6.15 on a Friday evening and it was already busy, we shared the seafood sizzler, salmon was delicious, white fish ok but whatever was battered tasted as if it had gone off and was dreadful. The railway lamb was bland and the lamb tough. The mixed grill was all chicken with a lamb chop. Saag bahje was nice and the chapati freshly cooked. Thank goodness we had a £20 voucher as at £77 it was not worth it at all!!! On leaving an hour later the place was packed!! Can only think we chose the wrong meals!!

The standard of food has never faltered over several visits from Summer 23 till Jan 24! Huge kudos to the kitchen staff for maintaining such high standards. Love the restaurant specialties! Service is equally as good. Icing in the cake is the outdoor dining experience, wonderful views and sun trap during the summertime.

Second Sunday in a row for a family meal, excellent service, excellent food , definitely the best Indian restaurant for miles around. Would definitely recommend . Jackie Crowley

An Indian restaurant that really is hit and miss. Had a great takeaway one week but then a few weeks later really poor. So I’d say flip a coin and good luck!

Booked a meal here for the first time on Christmas eve with my husband. Really impressed with the restaurant, lovely decor, atmosphere and great food. Big car park and lovely setting, will definitely visit again.

We are local and were very disappointed! Relaxing dining, unfortunately not,… Yes, it’s busy, but theres a huge difference between ‘atmosphere’ and being ridiculously noisy! The food was well presented, but overly coloured snd lacked the depth of flavour expected from our chosen dishes!

Have been wanting to come to the restaurant for a while. We finally decided to come today for late lunch. The experience it’s not been as expected due to unfriendly staff. We were asked if we had booked a table even though the restaurant was completely empt, we were taken to a table and the person who let us in was not friendly at all in fact he looked like he was doing us a favor by letting us lunch in. Same thing when we ordered our food. The food was nice and served quite quickly but I will not repeat the experience as don’t like to go to places where I am not treated with kindness.

Arrived to a big car park that had plenty of spaces. The buildings looked well maintained and had a big welcome sign .It comprises of bar ,dining tables and new side building with about 45 covers. At the outside there were another 25 coves that offered illuminated dining al fresco with lovely views. Additional covers to be found in other building. All tables were clean well presented.in all nice location with good interior and exterior décor. On entry we were greeted by friendly staff. we were shown to our table and served our drinks quickly. Menus looked a bit worn and could be replaced. we ordered our food and had popadom x 4 sea food platter to share for starters, chicken tikka for main, prawn tikka for main with rice and naan bread. additional drinks and cocktail. All food was cooked correctly. tasted above average and fair value for money. Drinks were correct served properly in correct glasses. Music was just a little on the load side but not offensive. good choice of relaxing music. Internal décor was new and well done. Food portions were very good and we were not rushed to our next course. waiters were dressed tidy but NOT in same livery clothing. All were polite and checked on us during our meal. At end of meal we sat outside to see the lovely view of the countryside. The bill was £79.00 all in and worth a tip. i will be returning here and will recommend this restaurant to my friends. well done to all. we had a fantastic evening. Food very tasty.

First time at Five Spice and came for my hubby’s birthday. The restaurant is really nice and in a lovely setting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service was faultless. The food was absolutely delicious. We had Saag Bhaji Fritters and Jhinga Saag & Mushroom Puri for our starters. I had Railway Lamb Curry and hubby had North Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken Tikka for our mains, with sides of Lemon Chilli Fries Rice and Garlic Naans. The flavours were gorgeous and the meat so tender. Our waiter found out it was my hubby’s birthday and brought him a piece of chocolate cake to wish him a happy birthday. Such a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be going back soon and if it is as good as tonight, this will fast become our new favourite Indian & Bangladeshi restaurant.

Used Five Spice regularly a few years ago when we used to get delicious, medium spiced curries. However, the last 3 or 4 times we have used them the spice level seems to be either bland/no spice or blow your head off! What has happened to the lovely medium spiced curries we used to get?? I even asked at the time for a mild/medium dish, rather than a medium/hot. They replace it with a different curry to my request, which tasted bland. Can't fault the staff or the setting, other than we were put in the conservatory where we had to lip read to try & have a conversation, it was so loud! Spoilt what should have been a nice catch up with a friend. Won't be using them again which is a shame.

I visited five Spice for a take away for the first time and was very impressed with the food and service and will definitaley be visiting again.

We decided for a change that we would change where we ordered our food from. being a Friday night and we are still in lockdown . We have nearly aways used the same restaurant is we thought we would give Five Spice a try having looked at all the reviews on here ! We ordered onion bhaji starters and two chicken and mushroom balti's with pilau rice and Naan bread . The food turned up approx 3/4 hour later , delivered to the door and packed very nicely with a silver foil lid to keep it all warm . On serving the dishes up the pilau rice looked lovely and so did the baltic dishes . However on tasting the balti we both looked at each other in amazement to conclude that there was no taste to it at all , just a warm tomatoe taste as if they had just used a base sauce and nothing else . The chicken was lovely and beautifully cooked but again just no taste whatsoever . Because we hadn't eaten since lunch time we ate it just the same and sat there very disappointedly as its something we look forward to all week .Nothing else really to add but we certainly would not buy from here again , very poor to say the least , and after reading through various reviews we felt very let down . We did speak to the restaurant and complain, again much to their surprise. They were very apologetic, thank you

Never a disappointment Great service from a professional, friendly, and cheerful team. I tend to try different dishes when we visit, but my favourite is still the North Indian Chill Lamb. Good range of different dishes and the team make it to your desired “heat” level. Lots of vegetarian choice too. The restaurant isn’t a typical “after the pub curry house”...!! It great restaurant with high standard of service and food. Having said this, the prices are very reasonable and only slightly higher than average. It does serve a good range of beers and wines. You were also able to take your own alcoholic drinks, but during covid this is not currently allowed. Love this place.

My partner and I visited Five Spice for a lovely meal. We have visited numerous times before with friends but decided to review following the great service and the meal that was not listed on the menu, but the chef made for me. I opted for a vegetable shatkora (listed as a lamb dish) as I do not eat meat and the dish was delicious - spicy and fresh! Our waiter Max was most helpful and asked the chef to make the dish for me. My partner chose a fish speciality, the ‘Seafood Tharkari’ which was a beautiful dish brimming with cod, salmon, prawns and seabass. The peshwari naan with chilli and lemon rice perfectly accompanied our delicious meal. Thanks Five Spice, we’ll be back again!
