Fish Chips & More in Great Yarmouth

Price to amount ratio is EXTORTIONATE. The chips werent that great neither was the curry sauce. AND TO FINISH IT OFF THEY TRIED CHARGING ME TO SIT AT A TABLE?!

When I got the food the chips were ok but the battered sausages were not good they were filled with grease and the batter didn’t taste nice as it was soggy and could of been cooked a little more

Can't fault the cod and chips from here, absolutely fantastic!

Bit pricey but also priced alright for location and quality when comparing. Went here 3 times out of a 7 day stay in the area. Best chips we had. Cod lovely. Battered sausage was good. Can’t comment on my first sausage as a seagull bloody stole it so stay vigilant 😂😂🥹. Will definitely visit again next year.

Food is quite overpriced for the portion sizes. Fish was incredibly oily and hard to eat. Person working the till seemed to have no clue what they were doing and ended up charging me full price for each item separately rather than in a meal deal (Battered jumbo, chips and bottled drink). Even when I noticed I was overcharged, they have a sign stating that you should keep your receipt because they CANNOT change anything. Unsure how keeping the receipt would even help in that case other than reminding you that you were ripped off. Wouldn't go there again if I returned to Great Yarmouth. Plenty of other options around.

Omg! Please dont take your kids or yourself there! We just came home and all four (including myself) are literally none stop vomiting! Even my extended family members are being sick. My daughter was the first one to be in the car on the way back from GY beach, then it was like a domino effect. the chips looked so bland, almost as if they weren't cooked properly, the fish was soo oily! All you can taste was oil, the portions were tiny but the price? £40!! Not so tiny! Too expensive for disgusting level quality food.yes we ate it anyways, because yes it seemed popular, and it was on the way back to where we parked. we wouldn’t recommend to go there at all, there are plenty more of those shops, just don't eat in this one if you want a vomit free day this summer! The service was good, kind staff-which i appreciate, but never again!

Overall food was nice. Had a 4 day break and we visited all 4 times. 4th day food wasn't as nice as the first 3, but it was still decent enough. The sausage is very tasty, chips are cooked good and the fish was OK, a little hit and miss the 4th visit it was abit undercooked and soggy however the other times it was cooked to perfection. Yes it's expensive by no means and averaged 45quid for 2 adults and 3 kids but for one it's next to the beach, two they have to cover the winter season, and three even the chipshops local to where I'm from are rip off for poor food so I had no complaints. The young girl taking the orders needs some customer service skills, moody and snappy and kept mishearing what I was saying and rolling her eyes and huffing about it, but that's her problem not mine. We would visit again and do over the years. Everything we ordered was fresh, piping hot and ready to go everytime.

The chips tasted plain and the battered sausage was very oily, started feeling sick a few hours after eating from there, would not recommend. DO NOT GO THERE !!!

Such a shame, chips where hard in places, horrible aftertaste it says done in beef dripping but it didn’t taste fresh. maybe a bad day?

Stopped in for some lunch.. food was ok. Batter on fish didnt taste fresh at all. Wasnt crispy but soggy. Chips were ok and curry sauce was ok apart from whatever the chunky bits were in it :/ can't say we will eat here again unfortunately.

The Portions sizes are now TINY and getting smaller each year it seems with the price increasing. Last time we came we left still hungry. We have almost always used this chippy but will be using the one across the road now. Much better value for money.

Chips weren’t fresh, they were brown in places and tasted off, this place was amazing last time I visited. The cod bites were definitely cooked on the day but using yesterday’s retried chips and giving them to customers is not a good way to keep people coming again, made even more wounding by a tiny portion of chips costing £4.75. This was my last visit.

Best Chip's along the seafront in my opinion, and you can sit down to enjoy them then get an ice cream after, and not overly priced for the location, definitely recommend when you visit

My daughter was sick after eating a battered sausage from here. Then two days later my sister got fish and chips and was also sick after! Definitely won’t be ordering from here again. Also very over priced.

Massively over priced or charged wrongly as i would of definitely questioned that price at the time... just realised what I was charged for 2 x reg sausage & chips (that were in "meal deal") 3x bottles drink 2 x sachets ketchup £27.40 Won't be going there again..

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had and I eat fish and chips regularly! The chips were cooked to perfection, a right texture of crispness and tenderness which would make Gordon Ramsey proud. The fish was fresh and perfectly battered with an incredible crispy outer layer. Had a subtle flavour which was perfect. They even made me scampi fresh when they ran out at the end of the day as the man was closing. Incredibly lovely man and can’t wait to come back!!

Discusting prices. Do not eat here . Total rip off. They should be ashamed. Portion size, small. Never eat here again.

Ordered food at this place service was good. food was OK .the worse part is when we got over charged £15 now will be double checking receipts I recommend you do the same.

Very expensive .... charge 50p just for small sachet of ketchup. More batter than fish .... battered sausage was auwful sausage, and very little meat in it tasted more like soggy bread. I would not eat there again. Take alot of effort to be this bad 👎

Been going here for many years, can honestly say it was always the best. But today, ordered x2 fish and chips and portion of chips with curry sauce. Really expensive at £26.10. The chips were ok but really small portions. The fish well once you got through the rock hard batter, and there was plenty of it. I wondered where the fish was. I've seen more fish on a fish finger.. Really disappointed won't go there again

The chips are good but that's literally the only saving grace for this place. Portion sizes are small for the price you pay, £5.35 for their smallest portion of chips and a bottle of coke, staff look miserable as sin and can't wait to get rid of you and if you're in a wheelchair forget it. No ramp to get inside, not even to order for take away. I'll go elsewhere personally

Really good food but the only down side is the tables are so close together inside it feels like you are sitting on top of one another, also I think it's a bit cheeky they charge 10% extra for eating in I can understand if it's table service but it isn't you still have to queue up the same as if you were taking it away.

Disappointingly expensive for the small portion received, 50p for a ketchup. Quality not very good, like others got more batter than fish. And on top of this a fee of £3.47 to eat in which isn't mentioned.

It's conveniently on the promenade and handy if you're tired of walking and just want some quick food. Most menu options were cooked and ready to go, and the queue moved fairly fast. There were warnings about the card machine being slow and preferring cash payments, but the card went through okay when the time came. Again, like most things on the sea front, you're paying a premium so it wasn't the most reasonably priced, in fact was more expensive than the same deal from Poppies fish & chips in the City of London. The fish batter though looking good was undercooked and disappointingly chewy. The chips were also a little bland. That paired with the high price makes for a poor experience. The decor was clean and tidy. The kids bucket was also a bit off-putting as the combination of plastic and hot-fried food might not be the cleverest.

We visited on the last day of April. There was a queue but it was moving fast. We ordered cod fish and chips and a fish chop with chips. Prices are reasonable. Got the order very quickly and they were very tasty. There is sitting arrangements inside the restaurant and outside as well. I will recommend this place 👍🏽

Very basic fish and chip (correct term as not very many to say chips). It was very windy when we visited so decided to eat inside as would be fighting wind to eat. Couldn't understand why people were fighting their food wrappings and food in the wind outside. Got 2 x fish and chips and a battered sausage and chips with 3 cold drinks at £42.25 They charge 50p per sauce sachet (to be fair they are the big ones) and then I under stood why people were outside, a 10% charge for eating inside! It's not mentioned or displayed anywhere. Wouldn't be so bad if you ordered and they served it to your table. Don't eat here, we got told after visiting hippodrome ( by locals) there are lots of better places.

Fish and chips are not great as what you would expect at a seaside the batter on the fish was hard and the chips were dry and small portions for what we payed over priced for £36 pounds for 2 medium cod’s, chips ,curry sauce and mushy peas. Was never told or any sign displayed to say there is a 10% charge to eat inside. Ripping off tourist and food is awful go elsewhere as will be disappointed.

Small portions and expensive- vinegar is watered down and curry sauce bland- Shame as have been coming here for years- it’s definitely less focus on the customers and more about ££s for these guys nowadays

It is a great place to eat with plenty of choice,fast friendly service, dine in or takeaway, the fish and chips we had were very good quality and tasted great, we will definitely go here again.

Disappointed, food was on the high side - charge 40p for a little sauce packet and then went up to purchase some Brown Sauce as displayed and I was greeted with a grumpy staff member who replied “nope”. Used to come to this fish and chips every year as the best one, and that reputation has been completely ruined since they have to appreciation for their customers.

Nice fish and chips. Service was poor. Portion sizes are small and the medium fish is small compared to my local chip shop back home. My son loved the bucket of chips, sausage and drink for £4.95. 2 jumbo sausages, 2 chips, medium cod and the bucket meal for my son come to just over £25.

Food was great, even tho overpriced but that was expected. But the staff wow rude as hell, specially the brown hair girl behind the till, who had a face like a battered fish not even a smile or a thank you or any interaction with the customers when being served.

Bought 2 large jumble sausage and chips, with curry sauce. Expected a large portion of chips, so I was surprised to only receive what only looked more like a small portion as you can see in pic. Shame on them the money greedy bunch. Taking advantage of us tourist.

Food was very nice! Reason for low star rating is the staff! Young lad that works there kept banging our table, when asked to stop twice he laughed at my husband. When my husband said to get the manager the lad apologised and quickly scarpered away!! Would have spoken to the manager but the place was very busy. Should probably teach staff proper custom service.

I eat here most weeks. Service is usually swift, prices reasonable, the food hot, not overcooked or soggy, and I rather enjoy it. I take my food round the corner and sit and eat it on the seafront, or watch the word go by in front of the shop (yes you do get charged more, for sitting in, but who'd want to, when the weather is nice) Conveniently situated and always busy, I've never been disappointed

Had lunch here on day in the week. Food was lovely and reasonably priced for the area and location it is in. However, minus 1 star for the £1.96 to eat in. Would understand if served on proper crockery and cutlery but all cardboard and wooden cutlery that you throw away anyway. They preferred cash and was 1p short and didn't want to break another note. So used card which they wasn't to pleased about. Came to £21.51. Only had £1.50 in change and £20 notes.

Over-priced and poor value for money. Fish was in soggy batter so had to throw most away. Chips stingey portion size and more hard bits than chips almost. My recommendation for F&Cs on front is Terry's.

The best chips other day he said they cooked in beef dripping and omg they are lush. Ps I'm the chap said people first to complain and not say when things are good. Will be back again.

What a shame !!! 3 stars because I detest businesses that charge for condiments 🤨 Fish and chip prices are pretty uniformed around the seafront £10 ish I asked for large fish and chips and was told 9.95 as I couldn't see the red sauce i asked where it was... The girl serving them put 3 standard packets of ketchup on my tray, then asked for £10.45 I said your charging people over 15p each for a basic packet of condiment 😳 after charging £10 for the again basic fish and chip meal. She said it was 50p for 3 or 6 for a pound Not well pleased at all !! Poor moms and dads having to fork up extra after buying the over priced meal is just profiteering 5p to cover costs or something.... Everyone knows you need at least 3 on a meal So shame on you !!!

Emma threw the chips on the counter and then preceded to tell me I hadn't paid for them.Proving it by showing me the card reader hadn't given out a receipt--- it wouldn't I paid cash as a sign asks you to on the way in. Terrible attitude from her and her mate on the till...

Absolutely beautiful fish n chips

My family and I dined in last Saturday and I must say we will NEVER go back. We ordered 2 medium haddock, 1 large chips and 2 kids nugget buckets but what we got was 2 x cod and chips, 2 x nugget buckets & 1 extra portion of chips at a cost of £32!! The young girl who took our order had to confirm what we ordered & still couldn’t get it right. When our food arrived I told the girl in the restaurant that our order was wrong and her answer was “we can’t take food back” in a rather snotty manner. We were talking about it & I looked over at the two girls who were the servers and they were clearly talking to each other about us. I’m appalled at the cost of food, the taste of the food & the staff. The batter on my “haddock” was not cooked right & it was also very dry. I was also appalled that we had to pay 10% extra to sit in & eat. You would expect plates & proper cutlery but no. Our food was served in cardboard trays with wooden cutlery. The only good thing to come of it was that my two children got to keep the buckets. We will never return!!

One side of the fish didn't have batter and it was undercooked. The chips were anaemic and looked like they had been sitting there for hours. The peas were very watery. Basically a load of sh**e

A little more expensive than I would have liked for what you get. I also didn’t realise they kept the skin on I was a little put off by that and had to scrape it all off before I would eat it but that’s my preference. The service was fast and we got our food quickly. The girl behind the counter was helpful and when there was no Coca Cola Zero left she went and got some more even though I advised I could order something else instead.

Had great fish and chips here. Cooked in beef dripping instead of veg oil gave the chips and batter a differently wonderful taste. I like gravy with my chips and it was thick and tasty so it doesn't run out of the takeaway box! Haven't had it like that for years. Even on a busy Friday when run off their feet the staff were polite and friendly. If you want great fish and chips in Yarmouth, try here.

Best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time!! Juicy fish, perfectly cooked (fluffy but crunchy!) chips, not a puddle of grease in sight, full-of-flavour mushy peas (not watery at all), smiley service despite ordering 7 meals (which often gets frowned at!) - when every other fish and chips place was shutting at 7:30pm - we felt very lucky that Fish and Chips was open and will definitely return

Chips were slightly undercooked and Deluxe chicken burger, I struggled to work out what was Deluxe about it as it was just a chicken burger with lettuce on. The chips were a separate item as told at ordering but when we got our food the chips were in the same tray. When told they were separate they had to put more chips in the tray as the few chips looked pathetic. Overall I'd avoid buying the chips and so called Deluxe chicken burger. The chips because of slightly undercooked and very small portion and the burger because it's just not worth £4.50

Burgers were rank and chips weren't much better wouldn't go back

Absolutely horrible experience. I ordered a burger, and while expecting a burger, I received a cheap and cold patty with a slice of meat and lettuce. Not impressed, as it didn’t even resemble a proper burger. Even McDonald’s feeds better than this place, for an equal if not lesser price. I had to pay for every single little thing—the place is called ‘fish and chips’, a meal that usually comes together, but here I had to buy the chips separately from the fish! This is the first time I’ve been to such a greedy business. In addition, even sauces had to be paid for. I’ll make sure to never visit this place again.
