Fish Ahoy in Blackpool

On arrival asked if the food was fresh fresh the lady informed us yes it was she then informed us it would take a couple of minutes for chips I thought it was quick . When the chips came we left the majority and asked how fresh chips could taste so bad . Where we was informed they cook them before put them in a uncovered bucket under the counter and then put them back In when complained apparently every chippy does it which is not true and not true . I saw the big basket off chips when walked in and thought they was the ones she had thru out how wrong was we .

Great chippy, food was fresh and cooked to order. Fish was excellent and really tasty. Lovely friendly staff. Can’t fault it.

Best fish & chips I've ever had. Thank you! Friendly proprietor. Serving area & cafe spotless as was outside eating area. Obvious pride taken in the business which is refreshing given the messy state of a lot of premises & streets in Blackpool sadly. I don't particularly like battered fish, so she just battered it very, very lightly & it was perfect! Really tasty as were the chips .. all the flavour without the grease. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Worth a trip to the South end of Golden Mile just for those alone.

Ordered pie and chips. Pie looked lovely on the menu board, but when it arrived it was soggy and not at all as the pastry should be. Gravy was tasteless and I ended up putting it in the bin. My husband ordered a burger costing £4. Was the saddest looking little deep fried poor excuse of a burger I’ve ever seen. Nope, not for us I’m afraid!! Total Overpriced Rip off! Won’t be back☹️

Fish ahoy is a quality chippy. I am so lucky to have it on my door step. The chips are just perfect and the fish are fresh and delicious. I would have gave them more stars if I could.

I came here for my tea after a great day in Blackpool. As money is tight I decided to grab myself a cheap tea not expecting to pay £7:40 for chips gravy and a jumbo sausage. I asked for a large portion and nothing was said that they only do regular. I was aware Blackpool chippys were a bit expensive but you usually get value for money and great food. I've never payed this much for this portion size before and been dissatisfied. I'm unhappy that they didn't care I was unsatisfied. I guess there not bothered once they get your money. After searching for something to eat, many of which were packed we found this lovely little gem. Food all cooked fresh to order, polite staff, shop spotlessly clean. We decided to eat in and the chairs were comfy, tables clean, nice bright clean appearance and the added bonus of disco lighting and music whilst eating

We always go to a cafe near by, but it was closed, so we seen Fish Ahoy and went in, first impressions, spotless, clean, nice and fresh. We ordered 3 suppers and drinks, and the food is made as fresh as can be. Excellent portion and friendly girls served us. Had the choice to sit in, there is only a few tables and chairs but it was late on when we visited. Would definitely go back here next year as we come yearly.

Best fish and chips we have ever had. The fish was super fresh, tested amazing. The staff were very friendly, lovely ladies. We waited less than 10min for the food. Definitely recommend this place if you looking for the best fish and chips in Blackpool

Worst chips ever, and we have tried lots of chips shops over the years. They tasted like frozen chips, not fresh chippy chips. They were also very overpriced!

Just been here for a pie and jumbos nowt wrong with the pie but the jumbo sausages are disgusting I wouldn’t even give them to my dog, seriously tasted like I was eating warmed up sawdust …. At 3.50 a piece there’s no excuse what an absolute rip off ! As a Blackpool resident everyone should avoid this place and walk half way up Withnell Road on the next street back towards the pleasure beach …. Chippy there is faultless cheaper and much much nicer quality of food … (Only reason I went here was because it was late on and my usual chippy was closed) Can’t believe the absolute tripe I’ve just thrown away I feel Robbed !!

Delicous fresh chips. We got, fish and chips, chips and gravy and a burger and chips. We all thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. The chips in particular were really lovely and fresh.

Do yourself a favour and don’t go here! Service is poor, staff have a don’t care attitude! The fish was kept in a plastic box on the floor during a heatwave. Chips and fish were undercooked. I tried the chips which was full of fat. I daren’t even try the fish after seeing where it was stored! Paid over £12 just to bin them!

The fish and chips were incredible, honestly the best chippy we have ever had. Everything was fairly priced and the staff were amazing! Recommended to everyone , we will definitely be returning.

This place is amazing quality for price will definitely back I had the fish chips and mushy peas the tray was so full I struggled to eat it all my partner had a pie chips and gravy pie tasted fresh and the gravy was really tasty , will definitely be back

Was here last year for a meal and had to come back and try this place again and it was just as good if not better than last year prices are good the quality of food is amazing and wasn't let down
