Whilst it may be unusual to preorder a meal for two, it was well worth it as the meal was incredible. It is one of the best tasting meals I have ever had. If you can go, you should

Since I only live locally, I cannot justify a stay at Ffynnon, but after realising that they do evening meals for non residents, I decided to try it out. I booked Ffynnon for a special meal to celebrate St Dwynwen night (the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine) and my wife and I were certainly not disappointed. Since Ffynnon is a boutique hotel and meals for non residents are pre booked only, the whole experience was very personal. I was contacted after my booking asking if we had any special dietary requirements, and on arrival we were shown into the lounge to be served drinks and an appetiser besides an open fire. When we moved into the dining room there was only one other couple present, and the service was attentive but not overwhelming. The food was of a very high standard, and certainly lived up to the location. Would definitely recommend as one of the best, if not the best fine dining establishments in the area. Perfect for a special occasion.

Staying nearby we decided to pop into one of our nearby local pubs and to our delight we found it very friendly and welcoming my wife and I can highly recommend it if you are considering dropping in

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.
