Fez Moroccan Tapas in Wiltshire

Great little venue, hired for a private party, but sadly fell short in speed of serving, cost of drinks and food quality.

Lovely venue, service was excellent. Highly recommend the Platter, superb value for money and you get to try lots of different dishes.

Came for the first time just before the first lockdown, and went again with my partner on the 23rd, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and service provided, would highly recommended this restaurant for a nice night out

Lovely atmosphere inside, nice lighting and comfortable seating. Had a veg platter and a meat platter. All very tasty and service was very good.

This is the second time we've visited Fez. What a delight. Atmosphere was cosy with warm lighting and comfy seating. The waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic and plentiful, and just seemed to keep on coming. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, which are hard to find in Swindon. We tasted a selection of the new dessert options that are going to be put on the menu - we ate every mouthful - delicious. Howard was a great host and even gave us handfuls of spoons so that we didn't need to "double-dip". This little gem in Wood Street is highly recommended and we will be back. I can’t believe I have never been here! Such a hidden gem! We both has the ‘fez feast’ which was amazing and left us feeling very very full! The vine leaves and mezze selection was delicious. Unfortunately, The cous cous and butternut was a little bland. Great selection of food choices on the menu. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and hosts were very attentive. We will definitely be back!!

Another birthday so another family meal out but this wasn't just a meal it was a super experience. Our grown up party of 7 were shown to the VIP room. Soft cushions, subtle lighting and a great feel. You could really imagine yourself in Morocco. We had the 7 course set meal, each course was 3 or 4 different dishes each of which was delicious and plentiful, they even did a few extras for us.of the dished we particularly liked. By the time we got to course 6 being the "main" we were getting pretty full and having emptied the bowls had to declined offers of more. Howard was an excellent host pleasantly chatty and with just the right level of attentiveness. Last night The Fez became my new favorite restaurant and I highly recommend the set meal with or without "eat out to help out".

Really enjoyed our visit to Fez, lovely food and nice surroundings. Very pleased to have somewhere different to eat in Swindon that offers something other than Italian or Indian. We will definitely be back!

We came for a late dinner at the tapas bar and from arrival the service was excellent. We were talked through the menu and drinks available which was personalised to us. The atmosphere was beautiful, really relaxed and not rushed at all. The food was great - we had the set menu for 2 which was varied and very tasty. We will definitely be back!

We decided to make use of the Eat Out to Help Out government scheme so visited Fez on a Monday, we don’t usually go out for dinner on Mondays but the restaurant was busy and the staff were managing well and ensuring everyone was happy. Food was great as usual, we went for the Fez Feast which was a selection of Moroccan inspired foods, everything was tasty and well cooked, I wasn’t a big fan of the cous cous (I don’t like it anyway) but my partner enjoyed it, there was enough of everything to try and enjoy. I particularly enjoyed the Devils on Horseback and spicy meatballs. The vibes were friendly and we didn’t feel rushed between the multiple courses. With the 50% off scheme we paid a very good price, but I have previously been and was happy to pay full price for the quality and quantity of food! Definitely be coming back, I am even considering booking the VIP room for my birthday in the winter.

We went to Fez for a date night on the first week of “Dine out to help out”. I couldn’t be more complimentary of the food, the atmosphere and the service. The Fez feast package was being offered for the two of us and I’m so happy we went for it! The food is incredible! The atmosphere of this intimate venue is brilliant for a date night and could also accommodate a larger group in their dedicated booths. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

When you walk into this restaurant you immediately feel relaxed - the lighting, casual seating friendly staff and general ambience make this an excellent place to eat out - and that's before you even get to the food! We opted for the "Fez Feast" and it truly was a feast - great variety and all extremely tasty and well-cooked. There is a real sense of theatre too with all the Moroccan crockery, mini tagines and serving dishes. We will definitely be back

What a fantastic tapas restaurant and overall experience. I booked a table for my friends birthday and was not disappointed. Fez (Howard and his lovely staff) went above and beyond, they decorated the table and had bubbles ready on arrival all included for us. We was so taken aback, it was fantastic. I was very impressed too at the hygiene safety measures being practiced, as soon as you walk in they asked us to use and antibacterial wipe and I thought given the current climate this was brilliant! Also you see staff going around cleaning constantly 👏🏼 Now the food... wow a taste sensation! Wonderful flavours and really good portions. My favourite was the halloumi chips and stuffed peppers....all the dips were delicious too and clearly freshly made. The atmosphere feels like you’re on holiday and really relaxing. We loved the different hats to try on too, really good fun! Howard the owner, was a pleasure and a real credit to Fez! I will definitely be back and have recommended to all of my friends and family. were shown to a table and enjoyed the ambience of the cosy restaurant. I ordered the sharing platter but to our disgust bit into a piece of plastic found in one of the dips. I immediately asked for the waitress to come over and have a look and she was mortified. There was no offer of replacement just and excuse that it must have been from the plastic tubs that it was stored in. Rather than kick up a fuss and leave we decided to stay for the main course. Knowing that we were not happy the owner half heartedly apologised for the plastic and then to made matters worse said that he had put us to sit at the wrong table and he had booked another party that wished to sit there. Therefore he needed to move us to another table at the back of the restaurant which caused us more inconvenience and annoyance. The main course was flavourless and the chicken not cooked well. The pan had clearly been heated up in the microwave as the spoons that came with it were scalding hot. Overall Not the experience we had wished for. For our troubles the owner decided only to take off the soft drinks from our bill instead of the starter platter from which we found piece of plastic!! I would not recommend this place or be going there again.

3rd visit to this gem of a restaurant. Delicious food, friendly service and our prosecco was kept topped up all evening. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Visiting Swindon on business today with my wife and found Fez bar and tapas. What a great find to relax and unwind. Lovely chilled atmosphere with amazing food and happy, helpful friendly staff. Highly recommend you give them a visit. Next time we’re in town, we will be back. Thank you

Quirky little Moroccan bar in Old Town. Howard the Owner very attentive and recommended the sharing platter which was exceptional. Lots of choice, well presented and delicious tastes. Good value for money. Definitely worth a return visit.

I have been to Fez Bar a few times and always enjoyed the meals there. I decided to take my family there to celebrate my birthday and 4 of them had never been before. We all had their platter meals, so plenty to eat! The breads, dips & olives were sizeable on their own and delicious. The meat dishes were all great, we all thought the best was the Devils on Horseback (dates wrapped in palms ham and grilled - May sound strange, but wonderful). The Moroccan Lamb was also fantastic. Cocktails and beers great too. Everyone loved it and will be going again.

Visited Fez for my birthday quite spontaneously and left extremely satisfied after discovering a new fave. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a Moroccan theme, the music and general vibe was chilled and quiet which was really nice, I hate having to shout at my companions during dinner due to loud surroundings. The mixed tapas platter for 2 was great value at less than £30 for 2 people, it had a real variety of North African/Mediterranean foods, which made it a good choice as this was our first time visiting this restaurant and I wasn’t sure what to choose from the rest of the menu. The tapas platter included a decent selection of breads with dips followed by 4 mains - the chicken stew was incredible! There was also a few sweet treats at the end included as well which was a nice touch. Unfortunately the Moroccan wine was not available but the wine, spirit and beer selection was ample and fairly reasonable.The manager was one of the nicest guys we have ever met during a dinner out, very friendly and attentive! I accidentally mentioned it was my birthday and they very kindly gave me a chocolate brownie on the house while singing, which was very kind albeit embarrassing. The whole experience was really lovely, we expected to have dinner then go elsewhere for more drinks but ended up staying at Fez as the atmosphere and vibes were so pleasant.We will definitely plan to return!!

I've been meaning to go to Fez for ages, it looks great from the outside, so went along last night with a friend. When we arrived we were the only customers and were taken to seats at the back and given menus. We went for the shared taster menu and the food came promptly. However, the bread that made up a sizeable amount of the food was a scant amount of pitta plus a tonne of normal, shop bought bread. The Moroccan 'dips' were mostly inedible and identifiable - with the curious exception of a bowl of Thousand Island dressing! Moroccan? Before we'd even sampled these delights the waitress offered to remove them to make way for the main course which turned out to be charred chipolata's, cardboard dry meat that defied chewing and swallowing, and what looked like leftover veg' stewed to the point of falling apart. It was certainly an experience. Needless to say the food was hardly touched and we won't be returning. If you want to lose weight but have a horror story to tell friends you might enjoy this... but it'll cost you. I really wanted this to be good and it would have been so easy to have made it work. Come on guys, surely you can do better.

Delicious food, so many different food experiences. I Thought 5 small courses wouldn’t be enough but I felt stuffed! Thanks to Howard and Ellie for looking after us with our differing food selections. Veggie and gluten free were covered nicely.

We had a fantastic family meal at Fez. My wife and I took my brother in law and father in law to Fez for an evening meal. It was fantastic, food was excellent, atmosphere was great and staff were friendly and helpful.

Popped out for a quiet drinks and found this lovely place. Ended up staying for an evening meal. Highly recommend the sharing platter lovely presentation and very tasty. Staff were attentive and we had a great evening. Well worth a visit if you are in Old Town. The owner ( Howard ) looked after us very well.

We were greeted by the manager who recommended a sharing platter for me and my friend - he explained every dish, took the time to talk about drinks to accompany the food, and gave us shots on the house. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back again!

Had dinner here this evening with my sister. First time eating Moroccan Tapas. The owner (Howard) took us through the drinks and food menu. There is a long list on gins available and I had two different types and they were both lovely. We had the platter and it was great, plenty of food and we got to try a lot of different dishes. The manager is so friendly and welcoming we felt instantly comfortable. Would highly recommend and will be going back.

My wife and I have visited here a few times now and even exchanged an email or two around booking as meal. We love the fact that the menu is clearly marked with vegan options, was great value and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I didn't get the name of the lad who served us but he did the restaurant proud. Definitely one of our go to places when we're in town.

We visited on a Tuesday evening after planning to go for little while, and it was wonderful. We had a lovely selection of food with the 2 person sharer platter, which was all delicious. Along with a couple of drinks, a relaxing atmosphere and an excellent host, it was a lovely evening. I would definitely recommend an evening at the Fez.

I have been wanting to eat here for a while now as I’ve walked by on countless occasion and always thought how cozy and inviting it looked. I went last night with my husband as we were child free for a change and it didn’t disappoint! We shared the meat platter for two which was a great way of tasting a number of dishes on the menu. The starter of breads olives and dips etc was huge and very tasty! The homemade hummus and tapenade were really good. The ‘main’ was equally as delicious and just the right size and the dessert was the perfect way to finish the meal. The service was excellent. The lovely waitress was so attentive, took the time to talk us through the food and wine menu and made great recommendations. I will definitely return. I’m not sure why I’ve not heard more hype about this place as it’s just lovely.

As an Australian who’s job takes me to 32 cities around the world for the last 17 years I very rarely post on trip advisor anymore. But when you find a restaurant with amazing staff and sensational food you must. Two young ladies Asia and Bella provided wonderful friendly service and the tapas is the best I have had including Spain. A pleasant surprise to find in a stopover in Swindon. Well worth it and incredibly inexpensive to boot.

What an absolute delight and great customer service. Asia Amies to was very accomodating and the food was lovely. A great cosy atmosphere too. We will be back :)

My partner and I weren't actually planning to eat in The Fez last night but had just popped in for a drink as the bar area and lighting looked so inviting. The whole ambience of this restaurant changed our minds and we were very glad we stayed. The food is delicious, the service extremely good, no rushing so you can just chill and enjoy your meal....and even feel that you are in a small restaurant in a street in Tangiers. We will definitely be returning and taking friends with us...it's a delight to have somewhere different to eat in Swindon.

Went to this restaurant with my son and his girlfriend for early brunch/lunch

We had the mixed tapas options: one veggie, one meat. It starts with bread and dips. We had expected (not that the menus said so) Moroccan-style flatbreads. Instead is was standard pitta and "ordinary" bread (albeit very fresh) - with authentic flatbreads, this would have been a 5* review. The dips were pleasant enough: the unusual harissa lacked heat, but the unusual tapenade was exceptionally good. There was a good variety of olives.

The place was a little quiet as it's not to well know yet. I've been a few times and I've always found the staff helpful and polite. The food is good quaity and you get loads!

Heard great things about Fez so decided to grab some tapas and drinks with the girls after work. We were not disappointed!

I’m being kind giving it 4* because that is what it deserves. It’s the twiddly bits that need sorting. The tap water needs some ice in the jug. A menu is desperately needed in the front window, more attentive staff, there are other bit BUT the food is great & good value. We may well return in a month or so’s time.

The variety of food is impressive. I tried three sampler option, couldn't eat if all! Not a bad selection of alcohol either!

They do that's who!! 2nd time eating here in 12 months and I've got to say, they are so accommodating. Being a bit fussy in what we eat we came here again and the young lad serving us sought out everything we could eat and brought extra and at a great price.... would highly recommend this place for any night of the week. I was really looking forward to a family meal at Fez, other reviews on Tripadvisor, etc are all really positive and the option to book a VIP room for a special occasion was great.

I’ve popped in for their ice cold Casablanca beers but never stopped for the tapas.. I did with a mate last week and it was fantastic- we did the 2 person set meal and it was delicious as was the Moroccan wine we had. Give it a go, we thought it was warm, cosy, friendly and good food and wine.

We had a fantastic family meal for our daughter’s 20th Birthday. There were eight of us- placed at a long table in the middle of the restaurant.

Lovely welcome and friendly staff. Cosy Moroccan feel to this restaurant, but a little dark for reading the menus! The food was excellent, we had the mixed platters to share. This gave us a great selection of tapas dishes and was great value and plenty to eat.

We happened to dine in Fez during a family trip. The food is truly delicious and well presented. Waiting staff is competent, professional, friendly. 10/10, keep going as we look forward our next visit!

This was our first visit. We like the tapas style of eating (we are great fans of Los Gatos) and we have been meaning to try this place for a while. The initial feeling as we walked in was spacious, inviting, quite cool, quite laid back. It was fairly quiet on the evening that we went, but it still had a nice atmosphere. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and the service was very good throughout.

Glad to see this place is open again. The food was absolutely fantastic with plenty of choice. The staff were freindly and happy to help with recommendations. The music was excellent and this is a great place.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal at this restaurant tonight. I'm vegetarian and was pleased with the selection available. Prices are very reasonable, friendly hosts and yummy food. Give it a go!

Fantastic food, wine & hospitality. Only fault is tables could be bigger to accommodate food. Seriously, all joking aside really authentic & a little bit different and a highly recommended place to eat in Old Town. Be adventurous and try someone different-we did and pleasantly surprised! We tried The Fez after seeing it during the day. We went on Thursday, and although quieter than a weekend, not too quiet.

Delicious food, fab service, lovely atmosphere and great prices - what more could you want? Think this may just be my new favourite restaurant! Will definitely be back.

If you want a change from the usual restaurants in town this really is the place to visit, Carl & Emma have just taken over & it’s buzzing. The food is real & very tasty, apparently they can cope with veggies (& probably vegans!). We shall definitely return soo .

We came upon this little gem in Wood Street looking for a place to eat & chat & were pleasantly surprised. An amazing little place where we were made to feel very welcome, friendly staff and the food is just amazing. Also the raspberry mojitoes are just fab!!

Excellent service, very reasonably priced and very welcoming staff. We hadn’t booked and popped in on the off chance and are so glad we did. The wine recommended was delicious as was the food. We will definitely be back with friends. Thank you Fez for a lovely evening.

Popped into this place whilst on a weekend to Swindon... and we can't wait to come back... yes we're fussy vegans.. yes we expect everyone to cook for us... it everyone can.... but this establishment, oh my word!! We've never been so full!!! The people here are so friendly and accommodating.. Having said what our dietary requirements were we had a list of available dishes presented and then served.. we had seconds! The beetroot dip was amazing and the couscous had a latent heat that was delicious! Thank you for such an enjoyable evening!! Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I chanced upon Fez and decided to try it out as we'd never been before. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who I cannot fault for their excellent service. The food was brought out incredibly quickly and every single dish we tried was delicious! We will definitely be returning for more and highly recommend this lovely Tapas restaurant.

Some lovely dishes, the lamb and apricot tagine was divine. The menu is definitley set out as tapas although you can opt for a bigger portion but having several small dishes is much more fun. This is one of the few places I have found outside of Morocco that serves Moroccan wines which is well worth a try. Will definitley be revisiting

Really great visit late this afternoon. We felt really welcomed by the hosts. The food was so tasty and really good value for money. I highly recommend the devils on horseback (dates wrapped in parma ham) and makoudas (kind of potato and vegetable fritters). The atmosphere was so relaxing. We really can’t wait to return.

We walked past Fez tonight not expecting to eat out and were greeted by a lovely couple and we could 't resist. The food was delicious - we haven't had tapas before so were recommended some dishes. Devils on horseback was delicious and they even had halloumi fries, then the homemade baklava topped it off. We aren't from Swindon but would definitely return and make sure we plan in a trip here!

This was my second visit, we ordered a selection of dishes, didn’t take long to arrive, they was either lukewarm or cold, I can tell they wasn’t cooked fresh either, they was very dry, and u don’t get cold fresh food, sauce on one dish was tasty, but it would of tasted nicer if it was hot, only thing I didn’t hear was a ding for the micro,,,, come in it doesn’t take long to cook fresh food,, this is what I expect as minimum when going out for food, even a chippy would of been better, they cook once you order,,,? Needless to say I won’t be going back, I did mention that it was cold and he took a dish of the bill,,, I only ate it because I was hungry, my husband went to the toilet and The was Someone asleep on the way, my god what is the world coming to??

Strange smell on entering was a bit odd but my son is going to Morocco so wanted to try it. Some bread and vineleaves to start...bread extremely tough and chewy. Main tapas courses were ok..some quite tasty and all eaten. Service was slapdash. Staff walked in and out, forgot orders and when the bill was requested were busy having a private conversation and messing around on mobile phones meaning I had to go to the bar to pay. Sorry but we won't be making a return visit....

I was brought here for valentines and it was lovely, the food was tasty and plentiful! There was a spice to it but it was flavoursome not overpowering. The staff and owner are lovely, friendly and very helpful.

My partner and I had dinner here recently. Ultimately this was a quite a disappointment. The food was average - some good dishes, some bad - and quite a few dishes that were unavailable. Unfortunately the service was pretty terrible - just really sloppy and unprofessional.

At very short notice we had a table for 6 on a quiet Saturday night. The food was good, tasty and varied and enough for 6 hungry blokes. Not sure that I would bring my wife here but it was OK.

La comida era deliciosa y bien presentado. Fue una lástima que algunos de los platos en el menú no estaban disponibles porque este reducido la opción para vegetarianos en nuestro grupo. Pan plano habría sido una buena adición, pero el pan eran buenos artesanos de calidad. Gracias.

He estado en Fez y en Marruecos, y no era nada como este lugar. La comida era comestible, pero aburrido. horrible olor o aguas residuales procedentes de los inodoros. El personal era simplemente adolescentes que no tengan ningún interés en servir. Evita este lugar si puedes.

Como a última hora viernes noche plan de comidas, decidimos probar este restaurante de tapas, y no nos decepcionó. El servicio fue atento, amable y rápido, y la comida deliciosa. El vino tinto marroquí que elegimos es una buena relación calidad-precio, totalmente con cuerpo y justo para la comida. En general una buena experiencia culinaria.

El servicio era horrible no tienen cosas en el menú que pedimos y la comida era un poco como enfermos. Realmente no es una gran comida. Evitar!

We first visited Fez last March,a nice quaint bar/eaterie.We only wanted a drink so as it was a special occasion we ordered a bottle of Moët off the wine list.The lady behind the bar then picked up a bottle from a shelf that was sat next to the spirits etc on it,and was about to open it!!Needless to say we asked if she had one in fridge,however the only one she had there was the house champagne that was around £12.50 cheaper than the Moët....poor! This year we visited the area again and decided to give the venue another chance and revisited.We decided to have champagne again.This time we asked for the house champagne simply because at a glance I couldn't see Moët in their fridges behind the bar.Having said that there wasn't much in their fridges!The barmaid had to go elsewhere to find a bottle of the house champagne.Yes it was cold when it was poured,however the barmaid just "plonked it" on the bar and just walked away....we had to ask for an ice cooler!! We then asked if we could have a few olives to nibble with the £35.00 bottle,so we waited and waited,bear in mind there was only a table of four other people in the place!Eventually I asked again and the lady brought a few olives in a bowl which I thanked her for.She then said are you paying for them now!!!I didn't know whether to laugh or scream!£2.75 please she said,the only thing I could think was.....oh dear,however I paid and didn't cause a fuss......until at 8.35pm three people walked into the restaurant and asked for a table for three.The lady/girl told them without hesitation that the kitchen was closed even though I had been facing the opening hours for half an hour that clearly stated that the last orders were 9pm!!!! I'm not going on anymore about this but I so hope the owner of "Fez" reads this review and realises that either he is the clueless one or its his staff that he employs are the clueless ones!!.

We went to this place for a dinner and it was delightfuk. It is a bit difficult to find it open because it's only open from Thursdat to Subday in afternoon shift but thefood is great. It is really Moroccan style with spicy dishes and great flavours. Great place for a dinner with friends.

Me and my family have been a couple of times now, and we love the food and atmosphere as it's something different to other restaurants in Swindon. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be visiting again soon :)

I have spent years waiting for somewhere in Swindon to get a decent falafel. And here it is! The vegetarian tapas were fantastic- I particularly recommend the spinach pastries- and the only reason this review is only four stars is because they ran out of falafel.

We visited midweek and although it was a little slow the service was good with nice friendly staff especially the owner who bought a lot of character to the place. The food was a little dry though.

We went to the restaurant with our 2 little kids. Nice and cozy environment, beautiful plates/bowls, overall good ambience. Excellent Morocco food and the service was quick. The staff were very helpful and they made it very comfortable for the kids who were not sure what to eat (it was their first time in a moroccan restaurant). Coconut prawns and chicken with chickpeas were delicious. It was certainly worth the visit!

The staff couldn't be more helpful,food is amazing and atmosphere is great. You definitely can escape it all with an evening here.

Little bit of Morroco in Swindon. Food was really good and the staff really attentive. Well worth a visit!!!

Got there for 7pm and service was good the food was yummy. We decided to tapas about 11 dishes and the portions were good and the food was excellent. Will be going again.
