We live 10 minutes away from here and we thought we would give it a try for early dinner Sunday evening. It's hidden away and not advertised but we checked it out online and felt it was reasonably priced and a "hidden gem". It is a beautiful Country house set in lovely grounds. We expected it to be quiet at 6 o'clock on a Sunday evening but it was very busy. We felt we were one of the youngest there and we are 60! The food was just ok but the service was shocking! There were TWO very young girls running the bar, the tables, the reception area (taking payments and assumingly seeing to the hotel guests). They were not trained very well and were literally "strolling" around with no sense of urgency. They looked and sounded very bored and obviously didn't want to be there. One brought desserts to a table opposite but didn't think to take our plates away, and we had finished our meal 20 minutes earlier. I asked for another drink but didn't get it, we were not offered the dessert menu until we had got fed up waiting, so we didn't have one. The carrots were cold, but the "Port Diane" was good. We will give it another go, as they were advertising for staff (which they obviously need urgently).

We hosted a golden wedding anniversary lunch for a number of family, friends and their children on the first of June. Susan , Suzie, Amelie and Megan were wonderful, they could not have been more attentive or helpful. They went the extra mile to accommodate special requests. The service was excellent, the food was served quickly, it was hot and tasty, enjoyed by all. All our guest really enjoyed the day and we cannot commend Ferraris highly enough. Thank you for an unforgettable day!

I have been to Ferrari’s many times over the years, during the day normally for yearly lunch events. Always enjoyed it. However, My husband and I went for an evening meal Saturday night and even on entering the building there was a complete lack of atmosphere. Due to the weather everyone was outside and there was ‘ entertainment’. We were given a set menu, limited choice and the food was very very lacking in standard !!! It was tasteless and cool. My lasagne arrived cold with hot chips it was taken away with no apology and when it returned the chips were now cold and the lasagne reheated. Unfortunately, it was inedible and I left the lot !!! The waitress didn’t Even mention it when she collected the plates !!! We then went for a drink in the bar, where there was no one serving, as the same staff were also serving outside. The area was soulless, no atmosphere, no background music, despite there being a performer outside, there was very limited comfortable seating. We didn’t stay long and we won’t be returning !!

The pictures for this Country Hotel are stunning, & indeed the landscaped gardens, and surrounding areas are pretty, but that's really the highlight for this 'Country' House Hotel. As far as 'Country' goes, the hotel is very much on the edge of Preston, & far from what I would describe as Country. However, there are some pretty villages surrounding & I imagine you can find some nice countryside walks. The Hotel itself is a mix of dated, worn and tired areas, but also a selection of updated, & more modern rooms. Unfortunately, our small double room located in the older annex of the hotel, was nothing special. Drafty windows (I accept it is an old property) an awful, worn and thin carpet, which I would not walk on without shoes! a very small bathroom, with a leaky shower & seemingly toilet! Also the small double bed was lumpy, & squishy, & not at all comfortable. The room lacked any nice decor, and the freestanding fridge in the bedroom was dirty & made quite a noise. The staff are friendly enough, and service is OK, however the food was bland, uninspired, and I am certain they used the same sauce for my starter, as was in my main. Breakfast was a bit better, but you cant really go wrong with a cooked breakfast, however produce is not great quality, and the cereal offering was basic, with no plain yogurt or marmite available. Improvements are needed for sure, but if you are looking for a no frills stay, and want something with nice gardens, & quiet surroundings, this could be the better option.

Exceptional, what a find, reluctantly I prepare to share with a wider audience… Outstanding service, the girls, Rosie, Justina & Megan to name a few, first class, professional in every respect. The Restaurant providing well presented, reasonably priced dishes, culinary skills above and beyond, faultless, an amazing breakfast, can not praise the owners and staff enough for the hospitality shown.

I booked this Hotel through buy a gift. Having never done this before I was a little nervous as to what sort of hotel it would be. Driving up the driveway and over the little bridge I was taken aback at how lovely it looked. We checked in and were given a key to our room and asked what time we would like to eat. Room easy to find and very nice indeed. Everything you could need. Our evening meal and subsequent breakfasts were excellent. The bar is well stocked and the Guinness as good as pint as I’ve had anywhere else. All in all a fabulous stay at this family run hotel.

Located deep in Swaledale off a long B road that takes you through delightful farmlands. The hotel was extremely busy with an event however we were quickly allocated our room by a most entertaining member of staff and arrangements for dinner sorted out. We were able to order morning papers. Our bedroom was a delight with many period pieces of furnitiure and decorations. We had a spa bath and everything was spotlessly clean. Our breakfast was fine with excellent sausage and bacon. The gardens are a delight with a wedding chapel, statues, fountains, etc. It was the Earl of Derny's hunting lodge and has that air of 'Olde England' aabout it. Good prices and clearly popular.

Typical Country House Hotel It is exactly what you expect it to be. Large, & a little beyond its prime. Our room was jammed full of very old furniture so very little room for luggage. The bed, also old & creaky. Terrible mattress that made you roll to the centre of the bed & very very lumpy pillows. TV so small it was virtually impossible to watch. Limited selection of teas & coffees. As there was no milk of any sort, we would have settled for herbal tea but there wasn’t any. Could hear the people in the next room talking. Dinner & service was very good. Hot & hearty. Breakfast was ok although I thought my sausage a little raw so didn’t eat it. Service good. Shower. Just a dribble from the shower head & the water didn’t drain properly so ended up standing in cold water. We stayed here for one night as a stopover on our trip north so it served its purpose but not somewhere I would seek out to stay again. The gardens did look lovely even in the rain so maybe as a wedding venue it works better. My tip would be to invest in new beds or at very least new pillows & declutter the room. It was a very reasonable price for B&B but the reality is at odds with the blurp on their website.

Stopped overnight on route to Scotland and were so delighted with accommodation and grounds that we re-booked a two night stop on way home. The rooms have not been modernised however are a great size, have lovely views and ooze a certain charm. This hotel doesn’t hide from what it is - a comfortable, clean, friendly place to stop and unwind, surrounded by beautiful Lancashire countryside and hills. The rooms are spotlessly clean which is a tall order when offering dog friendly accommodation. The grounds are large, perfect for easy for those all important ‘doggy comfort breaks’ and are beautifully maintained. Their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Chilean Merlot were great value by the glass too. We stayed on a DB&B basis (£129.00) however there are plenty of food options within a short walk or small drive (3 minute) of the hotel for a bit of variety and to suit all pockets and palettes. We did eat at the hotel a couple of times and the Lime Chilli Chicken was the pick of the meals we had. We hope to return with a group of our friends next year as this will make a fabulous base for our next dog walking retreat.

Been here a few times this summer, on separate occasions with an elderly neighbour, my Daughter, my strapping 20 something Grandson and on my own. On each occasion I telephoned first to ask if I could go straight into the garden as I am disabled but have extremely limited walking. I'm sure it was Mrs Ferrari who answered the telephone and she was so helpful, telling me the best place to park etc. We were given the limited outside menu. I find this is usual for places with a large outside seating area. Still plenty to choose from and if this is what it takes to eat out again safely in such lovely surroundings, attentive Staff and good food, I'm ok with that. I am a Retired Home Economist so appreciate good food prepared and cooked on the premises. (Home cooked food can be ready meals as long as heated up on the premises) . Ferraris have always prided themselves on preparing and cooking everything themselves - even make the pastry. With such diverse companions, even with the limited menu, all were impressed, satisfied and eager to go again (depends on who is paying!). Heartfelt thanks to all the Staff' Chefs, Owner, Waiting Staff and the kind Gentleman doing the garden who went out of his way to explain to me how to get home due to the road closure in Longridge - it was more good luck than good management and a really narrow one track road that got us there..... Would I be back ? YES

Following an email enquiry I paid £150 for 2 “win your wedding” raffle tickets in June. At the time I was told the raffle would be drawn at the end of August. I paid over the phone and patiently waited for email confirmation of my tickets, which didn’t arrive. I emailed to check and was told yes I had 2 tickets. The end of August came and went, the raffle was still being advertised on the website and I had heard nothing. I emailed (no response) and telephoned a couple of times to be told the lady organising the raffle was off but would respond to my email in due course. I telephoned again in mid September and was told the raffle was likely to be cancelled as not enough tickets had been sold and somebody would be in touch with me to arrange a refund. I followed this up with another email at the end of September - again no response. I telephoned again yesterday to be told the raffle had been drawn live on Facebook mid September and my email chain had gone into their spam folder. I have been waiting for months to plan my wedding and kept delaying as there was a slim chance I could win my special day at Ferrari’s. I would not recommend booking a wedding here, the customer service is appalling.

Breakfast was amazing and the weather was great so we had it outside in the gardens, lovely start to the day. Stayed at Ferrari’s country house for 2 days before Christmas. This is our favourite hotel and have stayed there numerous times. Each time our stay has been excellent. On this stay they excelled. The hotel was all set up for Christmas and looked very festive. We left on Christmas Day morning, but took some pictures of the dining rooms all set up for lunch. A really lovely touch was a Christmas card and chocolates left by hotel in our room.Just a big thanks to the family and staff at Ferrari’s for a relaxing and chilled out stay, as always.

We discovered this hotel as a convenient stop over on our way back from Scotland to the South of England. The hotel is situated a convenient 10 minute drive from the M6. It welcomes dogs and we found the service exceptional. Particular thanks go to Anna, who despite the menu not having vegan options displayed, went out of her way to work with the chef to offer a variety of vegan options.... all of which sounded, and were, delicious. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, Anna surpassed herself by creating an impromptu vegan dessert which was wonderful. She provided very personalised dinner and breakfast service. This in itself deserves five stars, however the hotel was a little dated and our bedroom was not sufficiently sound proofed, hence our overall rating.

I usually book all our accommodation but on this occasion my husband booked it by considering the reviews on booking.com 9.1 and trip advisor which I too would have considered acceptable. We had just spent 4 luxurious nights in self catering accommodation in the Eden Valley and had booked In to Ferrari’s overnight as we had booked a table in Angel’s restaurant in Ribchester. Our hotel room was very small and shabby, the bed was a small double, no quilt just a sheet and a scratchy blanket! Only one light worked in the en suite and that was the one in the shower and that was flickering. The light over the wash basin made a very strange noise when turned on. Of the three lights in the bedroom only two worked and there was only one bedside light. From what I could see of the wooden toilet seat it was cracked around the edges...I honestly thought the hotel had accepted our booking then realised they were full and shoved us in staff quarters it was that bad! Would definitely not stay there again. Breakfast was very nice until I found a hair attached to the tomato

We had a family wedding yesterday and it was honestly amazing. The bar by the front door is tiny, and this is a little bit of a shame as there were nearly 90 people crammed in trying to get drinks. They had canapés of cheese and tomato crostini, fish and chips in cones and sliders. All of them were just great. The ceremony was beautiful and they served Prosecco, Peroni or orange juice after. The wedding breakfast was a roast beef dinner which was good. The beef was well done, personally I’d prefer it a little rare. Wine was on the table with appeltiser brought around for kids/non drinkers. The staff worked tirelessly and the amount of food served throughout the entire day could’ve fed a small army, but the staff always had a smile on their face. I can honestly not fault the place at all.

Attended for a family birthday meal, it started off rowdy as a wedding was on in the marquee, however, we were soon moved into the dining room and "Anna," certainly made sure we wanted for nothing. She was very friendly and couldn't have been more obliging when I asked about my options when it came to my dairy and citrus intolerance. Stayed here for a couple of nights visiting the area. Lovely grounds and a popular wedding venue. We had a meal on the first night, well stocked bar, good menu although I might have expected more Italian options as this is what they advertise. We chose a black pudding fritter and Parma ham, a huge plateful! For mains we both chose fillet steak, one with a port and Stilton sauce and one with grilled tomato and mushroom. We asked for medium rare steak which admittedly was medium/well when it came but the taste was absolutely delicious, puds were out of the question! Service was terrible although the meals were brought promptly enough - drinks service was dire to non existeny and they forgot to bring the sweet menu. The windows were shut - it was very stuffy for a July day but perhaps this was an effort to control the flies? Good value, old fashioned, no frills food.

Located just outside Longridge with a nice driveway leading to the Country House, beautifully presented with ample parking. The grounds were really nicely kept with some special features, including The Dove Cote for wedding, where our invite took place, a really special location. The Wedding Breakfast room was very nicely set up for the wedding party, the food was really good and all courses came piping hot and were well servedThe service of the staff was speedy and professional.Just over £9 for 2 pints which I think is the norm from what I am told, not being a big drinker myself.Location for photos was perfect.Overall a very good experience and a lovely wedding,

Visited here this afternoon as our neighbours invited us for a meal with them and their family. I emailed to ask them if the chef could make me anything vegan, I don't think it's fair just to turn up and expect them to make you something. Oh my gosh, it was so tasty! Had a lovely roasted veg salad for starter, I don't know what they put on it, it was so nice! Would have quite happily eaten a mountain of it. Then a lovely stuffed aubergine with risotto for main course. Really well thought out vegan food. There was already sorbet on the dessert menu, so I had that and it was very good indeed. Thank you so much Ferrari's for catering for my requirements, and doing it so well without any hassle!!!

Booked Ferrari's restaurant for my partners birthday. Have visted her once before and can honesty say this place is really lovely! The menu had plenty of different options to choose from. Everyone in our party were really impressed with the quality and taste. The service was also exceptional. We will definitely be coming back again!

We went to Ferrari's for a meal, early one Sunday evening. We had been a couple of months ago and the restaurant has been refurbished since then. It now looks more modern, it has great new décor, carpets and lighting. They also have the availability to shut off part of it for Private Parties, which is good also. There is still the great food and service and it is great value for money. We will return when we are next in the area.

Stayed overnight on boxing day 2016. No restaurant menu provided but they put on an excellent buffet (this had been explained to us when we booked). Breakfast next day was superb with a wide choice of quality produce available and no restrictions! The rooms were pleasant, comfortable and quirkily appointed and the grounds and location were delightful.

So relaxing to visit the restaurant at Ferraris Country House Hotel. Good old fashioned luxury and the food was absolutely amazing.2 course table d'hote only £10.50 or 3 courses for £14.00 and some very unusual dishes included in this.Couldn't fault it in any way. Ina fact we are about to book a lunch meal for a party of 50

Our Family have been coming here for more years than I care to remember. Due to illness, we have not been regularly for about three years now. Went yesterday and did not recognise any of the Staff so this is a totally unbiased opinion. (in the past, we have been greeted by name). We did not book as I was not sure I would be well enough to go. Really glad we did. After a disappointing birthday meal in a Restaurant local to us last week, my Husband insisted on taking me to Ferraris..As I can only stand for two minutes and usually use a wheelchair, I hobbled into the bar area whilst Husband parked the car (one of my beefs in most places, disabled spaces were occupied with cars with no badges - perhaps they forgot!). Waitress came to my assistance immediately, offering to get drinks and bought the menus. We had starters and mains from the set menu and they were really really good. I was in heaven. Waitress wrapped up half my starter for me because I would not have been able to do justice to the main course if I had finished it.Years ago, Susan, the Owner's Son bought a huge monkfish from the kitchen - we were sat by the door - to show us it was being freshly prepared so I usually go for the fish. It was fresh, tasty and with a good complimentary sauce. As a retired Home Economist, I like good food, professionally prepared and cooked, when I go out and this was spot on.It was actually cheaper than the disappointing local meal of last week and we only had one small portion and a main there, not two courses. It is quite a drive for us but we are now putting dates in our diary to ensure we once again become regulars.

We hadn't been to Ferrari's for a few years but we were visiting the area and thought we would try it for a meal. We booked a table for 2 at 6pm on a Sunday, as I think they only serve from noon to 7pm on Sundays. We arrived to be greeted by a very friendly barman, who also served some of the food and advised us that he sometimes cooked as well, clearly a multi-talented guy. We ordered drinks and were brought a set menu for ordering our food, although an a la carte is available, we were more than happy with the menu we had. We both ordered lamb medallions for starters, these were like two lamb meatballs, surrounded by bacon and served with a little mash potato and a jus. My husband ordered Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding as a main and I had Chicken with a Diane Sauce. We ended the meal with Eton Mess and Eton Mess Parfait. When we asked for the bill, it was £28, including the drink, a Diet Coke and a wine. Amazing value - we will definitely be back here on our next trip to the area.

Do not be deceived by the reception desk - a small cubby hole! The staff were friendly and helpful, the dinner amazing value, we upgraded to a superior room and were not disappointed - soaring ceiling, 4 poster bed and a quirky bathroom up a few stairs.

I had high expectations. I had booked but on arrival, reception was empty. Eventually we were shown into the bar and menus and drinks were sorted. On being escorted to the restaurant, no one offered to take our coats or carry our drinks. The restaurant itself lacked atmosphere and was somewhat dated. Some of the food was excellent but, sadly, not all. Staff were pleasant but I expected more. Cannot see me returning.

I went to Ferrais with a large group for a Christmas meal. We arrived early and we're seated straight away in a large room on round tables with plenty of room to move around. We hadn't pretty booked any of our food. The staff were very efficient and quick in bringing our food to us. The cost of the 3 course meal was £15 per head. I had risotto to start with then fillet of Bream followed by fruit sorbet. I would gladly have paid £15 for the main course alone. Would recommend Ferrais for a group meal any time.

Had a really nice meal here, fantastic value set-price menu. Portions were generous and it was all perfectly cooked. House wine was good and you can buy it by the half litre if you don't want a whole bottle. Service was very friendly, I'm surprised by some of the critical comments from other reviewers. Suggest you travel here via Longridge rather than approach from the other direction, otherwise satnav will take you down some very narrow lanes!

Ferraris? Not an Italian restaurant . Sort of a country house bed and breakfast/ wedding venue/ English restaurant. Had a very nice breakfast ala B and B 3 star hotel. Came back later, having been outside all day in the beautiful local countryside, in need of a drink. The bar staff both ignored me, the male did it twice. Having seen what the chap they did serve got charged I was glad I chose to ignore them back and keep my hard earned money to myself. Location great, breakfast good ish, bar and staff ignorant and expensive. Identity crisis perhaps. Would I come back for a meal, a stopover or a as a party venue. Only for the breakfast, and only because I know we are booked in again in December as part of a day out I am committed to attend. Reluctant returner. More plodding pony than prancing horse.

We visited for a wedding which was lovely. The rooms looked beautiful and the outside area for the reception was amazing, loads of great photo opportunities. The food for the wedding meal and also the night time meal was really good and the waiting staff were attentive. The wedding experience was brilliant and I'd definitely recommend Ferraris for a wedding. However, our room was quite dated and the toilet seat was hanging off. The check in was done by the grumpiest receptionist, we were given no information about breakfast, checkout and had the directions to the room barked at us before she vanished. We also tried to ring reception to contact other guests in a different room but nobody answered. This is a small thing in an overall good experience but I did find it annoying. Check out however was a good experience. One final thing, there is no phone signal and the WiFi is shocking!!

We have been coming here for years. When my Dad died, I could not go for a while as he loved it there so much but when I took Mum again, they remembered us and were so nice. Then Mum died two years ago and we have only just gone back this week.It was nice to see the Family members still with their fingers on the pulse. Change of Waiter but that is to be expected and he was very pleasant.Food was excellent, as usual - never had a bad meal here; we both had different dishes and the started was so good I could not eat all of my main course - next time I will opt for the melon starter.Only downside was nothing to do with Ferraris but a customer who had parked between the two disabled bays blocking the access to the Restaurant. One disabled bay was vacant but I would not have been able to get out of the car if I had parked in it. I can only walk or stand for two minutes without needing a wheelchair. Fortunately, we arrived a little late (which was not a problem to the Staff) and could park fairly near the door. If it had been busy, I would not have been able to access the Restaurant in my chair as they had parked over the ramp.Would I return? Yes, and soon.

Met up with friends and relatives for a celebration meal, booked several months ago, nothing was too much trouble, staff and owners were very flexible and pleasant to deal with. The meal was excellent although service was understandably a little slow on such a busy night, but this did not distract from our enjoyment of the evening, we weren't rushed in any way and once the meal was over there was no pressure for us to leave, I think we were the last out of the restaurant. The menu was extensive and varied and we were only charged for what we ate, meaning that we booked the set menu for 25 people and if some didn't have dessert they didn't charge, some places would have! The food, on such a busy night with a wedding in the function room was excellent with a number of our guests commenting how good it was. Staff were kept going thoughout the evening but we're all in good humour and whilst no doubt run of their feet gave you their full attention.

Stopped for a long weekend at this great hotel. Accomadation is fine. Furniture which has been criticised as being dated suits the place. Food is very good. Al la carte is well presented and tasty but you don't need to go to this expense as they do a two course meal for a tenner which is cooked to the sake standard. What makes this hotel is the location and it's fabulous gardens. Hotel is set back from the road and the gardens are manicured with statues fish ponds etc. It is popular wedding venue and it's dog friendly. Recommended

Another fantastic evening meal at ferrari's. For £5.00 for 2 courses were everything is homemade and no sign of frozen anywhere it was outstanding.THe chef's cooking and presentation of the dishes is an absolute credit to them when you think you gop to these cheap and cheerful 2 for £10 frozen meals there is no comparision. Everything is completely made feresh to order and is not ready in advance so if for example like me you didn't want peppers in your dish this is fine. Fabulous for coeliacs mum has been a few times and has always been fully accomodated, last night she had fresh hake in gluten free batter, homemade chips and garden peas followed by gluten free sticky toffee pudding and custard all for £5 !!!!!!!!!!!!!only one slight critisism and this is my personal view a low background music would be nice to create a bit more atmosphere. WE've already booked twice more and can't wait. One word sums it up....... FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!

We visited Ferraris for Queens 90th Birthday celebration event featuring Longridge Brass Band and the event was well run. The included lunch was a credit to Ferraris with a choice of dishes including gluten free options. In excess of 150 people were served with efficiency and hot food. Everything happened with military precision and enhanced the whole event.

We have been here several times and on one previous occasion we came her for a Wedding Celebration. Ferraris is located in a really beautiful part of Northwest Lancashire. Some of the views in this area are astounding. The Country House Hotel and the properties grounds are an excellent wedding venue. It can also be a great place to spend the night or merely to visit here for a meal at the Restaurant. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The service and food quality here are of the highest class.I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

My steak was good but to be fair the place is dated and in need of a make over in my opinion. I am not one to knock local places but over the past 10 years l feel the place looks tired inside, although as l say the building and grounds outside are beautiful. Please do not write this place off as it is a family run business and is worth a try!!

we stayed in the "family room" which was actually two rooms with 2 doors separating them and 2 bathrooms. Perfect if you are travelling with a smallish child (in my case, a 7 year old) because when he was asleep, there was another room to spend time in with the light on and the ability to read, watch television without disturbing the sleeping child next door! The room was a little dated, but I think this added somewhat to its charm, and spacious and very clean. The lack of windows took some getting used to but there was a large skylight which meant we could watch the stars from bed. The staff were incredibly friendly and we had the most awesome breakfast. Perfectly poached haddock and the best boiled eggs I have ever eaten at a hotel breakfast, soft boiled to perfection. The the price (£120 for the 2 rooms, including breakfast for all!) you really cannot go wrong! The perfect options for families on a small budget. Think they need to reinstate the fireplace in the bar area but otherwise a great place to stay.

I don't recall ever being so disappointed not only with the food but also the manor of the staff. On arrival no one to greet you left to hang your own coats up guessing it was down a lobby to where we could see a bar off a room !!The food was appalling I had fillet streak ( which was more like stewing steak husband had sirloin steak which was all fat, lamb was boarding burnt , chicken very dry , all four main dishes looked to as been pinged in microwave with sauces on then left on side for 10 minutes all dishes cold. As for roast potatoes don't think they quite got to the oven they were so pale and the veg must of been in pan for less than 2 minute they were so raw, all dishes were cold.!!!Desserts were also very poor defo something missing in this fine old building!!The young waiter said he didn't no what his dishes were he had brought us because the chef had been shouting at him!!!Young waitress drop some veg on my dress !! Although she did apologies Not one person came to ask how our food and drinks were. such poor service left with dirty plates and empty glasses for long periods!!Husband went to pay bill he wasn't asked if everything was ok it was money and go, we got our own coats yet again no one to be seenDEFFO won't be going back !!!!!

The building from the outside is really picturesque and the gardens are colourful and stunning. The gardener was lovely too!!! Fabulous Champagne Set Dinner. Each of the 4 courses was as ever amazing. Each course being an explosion of textures and tastes. Our dietary issues were well covered by slight change to the main menu. The meal was preceded by amazing snacks . We had avery comfortable overnight stay during Storm Lilian. We awoke to an area power cut. The staff had sprung into action and were able to serve hot tea and coffee by firing up the outside BBQ. A light breakfast was served in their usual professional way.
