Good pub, just had starters and drinks but good atmosphere and friendly staff and good food!

One of the best carveries I have been to lately. Beef melted in your mouth. All the veg was lovely and fresh. Yorkshire puddings were huge and gravy couldn’t have been better.

Wonderful meal with friendly attentive staff, food exceptional and puddings amazing, never leave disappointed Thankyou all xxx

What has happened to this place, last night no rump steak, sirloin was awful and not 8oz, rocky road sundae in tiny slim glasses not like the picture or how it used to be. No table service you order online or at bar. Marston's just lost a customer. Wish I had gone to dominos pizza now! Edit: thanks for the reply but the sundae glasses used to be MUCH bigger I've had them numerous times! Used to take some time to eat as there was so much but now hardly anything in them. Feel insulted by your reply infact as I'm not senile and can tell if a dessert has changed in size! Again, Marston's has lost a previously loyal customer.

First visit for a carvey. From the moment we entered the staff were super friendly. The carvery had a good selection of meats and vegetables. The lady who served us was so lovely and couldn't have been anymore helpful. The only downside was food was not hot but still enjoyed it. Would definitely go again.

Good range of well kept real ales. Pleasant staff. Tidy venue. Good parking. Reasonable carvery, but can be slow with a long queue.

Very friendly, made us and our large dog welcome. Service was very quick and efficient and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Prices were very reasonable, car parking was plentiful and the atmosphere was great.

We had the Carvery. Don't know if we went at the wrong time at 12.45. But most of the Veg was cold. Peas ok The meat was ok. Was very disappointed. The waitress spoke to the chef. And we only paid for one meal.

Good clean modern pub with spacious well laid out indoor seating areas. During nice weather there is also a good amount of outdoor seating. My food was served very quickly, with decent portions and therefore good value for money. The staff were friendly and very approachable and make you feel very welcome. The general atmosphere and ambience of the pub was very good, with excellent lighting and background music at the right sound level. Would recommend a visit without any hesitation whatsoever.

Bar food great, carvery not so much. Because its an everyday carvery, it's all a bit bland. Good beers and ales not so great on ciders.

Our second time visiting this week and was made so very welcome by the manager and the staff the first time, we decided to come back and have a carvery this evening. Great food, service and surroundings.

Good points: easy parking, not too noisy, friendly staff, good variety of mains on the menu. I had gammon and chips, while my wife had scampi and chips, which were both quite good. Now the bad bits. Ordering via QR code and smartphone did not work well, the order was reset when nearly complete, and when ready to place the order (the second time) we found it would not accept the voucher that had been sent two us. So we had to order a third time, at the counter, to use the voucher. The meals that I wanted (Mixed Grill or Maxi Mixed Grill) were both unavailable. My Vegan children both ordered the vegetarian chilli. When it arrived, it was rather underwhelming, with very little chilli and very few beans. My son remarked: "It tasted liked someone had emptied a jar of salsa into the pan and said "that will do" or maybe just took the meat out - not enough protein. Vegans need plant protein, guys. Did anyone ever taste this recipe before adding it to the menu? The dessert menu was quite disappointing, mostly "chocolate-based"; my wife and I had the chocolate sundae thing, which was OK but quite small (in a big glass) and the chocolate sauce didn't resemble chocolate in any way, while my daughter had the chocolate fudge cake, which we said tasted very artificial. Phew. So, quite a lot of things weren't good. We don't, as a rule, complain or leave negative reviews - but this was disappointing enough for me to break that rule.

The staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive.

We had the carvery at the featherbed and it was lovely food and plenty of it plus reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a nice outdoor play area for our bigger children and a safe indoor space with a few toys for the younger child to enjoy.

Restricted to carvery and children's menu due to staff shortages. In general the food was good. Only complaint would be the hard carrots. The staff were very good. Friendly and helpful.

A very cheery welcome, really nice carvery with a good choice of vegetables. Also loved the fact that the Featherbed were supporting the local MacMillan Cancer charity bake sale and it looked like they were making a great amount of fundraising from it ~ we supported this instead of having a dessert from the menu this time but we will be back soon for our next meal!

Had been to Telford hospital so thought we'd treat ourselves to a carvery at the nearby Toby Inn. We were left waiting for ages at the meet and greet point, then when asked if we'd booked, told in a somewhat surly manner that it would be at least an hour for a table (despite being fairly quiet inside). So because we'd decided on a carvery we hotfooted it to the featherbed. We were immediately welcomed with a smile and invited to choose any table not marked as reserved. We chose the carvery option and it was delicious. The beef was melting in the mouth and the choice of vegetables was superb. The tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacated and the staff friendly and approachable. Will definitely be back.

We went shopping in Shrewsbury, & having been to the Featherbed in the past, booked a table to have a carvery lunch. The welcome we received was very pleasant, also the service was great and all members of staff were cheerful and helpful. When we went to get our food at the carvery it was pleasing to see such a wonderful choice, my only complaint being only one option of green vegetables, apart from that the food was delicious, fresh well cooked and the meat was beautifully cooked. All in all a wonderful visit and the staff are a credit to the management team! Well done to one and all, thank you very much 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Visited with family. Table wasn’t cleaned, still sticky. Glasses for drinks not washed properly, wine glass had lipstick mark on it. We waited for our food for over an hour, asked staff and said it would be 10 minutes, took 20. Food was disappointing to say the least. Mixed grill came with no egg, which was then served separately in a dish. Burger was overdone and burnt. kebab meat was dried up and tough. Just not good, perhaps their carvery is the way to go and not order of the menu. Would not recommend this place. Staff were pleasant but quality and service poor.

Pub was virtually empty when we arrived, ordered carvery very poor selection of vegetables, over cooked and tastles,3 small pieces of dried up beef, need to improve greatly before I would try again

Brought a carvery 12/8/24 food was very plain,food looked like it had been left in the serving dishes for a long time ,veg was cold and no taste, not Value for money

Normally have good carvery but Yorkshire pudding and stuffing that hard I couldn't cut through them. My friend who was at bar waiting to order was left while staff went to see to a customer arriving (think maybe more staff would help) . We decided not to have desserts then.

Had a small carvery on a wednesday ,was ok .pretty tasteless .but was most upset to see the carvery food left uncovered when no customers ,for flies to land on and that was all the time I was there it was a hot quiet day .I won't have it again.

The carvery was nice for Two people. But I ordered a chicken burger and fries. It was awful. It was dry, boring and tasted funny. For 11 quid, it was on par with a Weatherspoons which is 5 quid for a burger and a drink. The couple next to us had waited over an hour for their food and ended up getting a full refund. Overall way below the standard I expect for the price you charge.

Staff excellent. Delayed getting to table (12 diners) due to previous occupants delaying leaving. Staff were frustrated but kept us informed. Delay between courses but worth the wait.

I can't even explain how peed off me and my wife to be are right now, our food was cold so we sent it back they re did our order and there was hair in the food, we got a refund and apparently someone called the EHO (food safety people) who came out and did checks they apparently said it was all ok no issues, the manager of this establishment refused to serve us food as he thought it was me or my partner that called the EHO, so we could only go for drinks, however me and my wife to be ARE NEVER STEPPING ONE TOE INTO THAT HORRIBLE PLACE, If you want to get band from there don't complain about the food as they will ban you and kick you out, it feels that the know they serve cold food and if someone wants to complain which is their right to do so, they can't they have to keep their mouth shut or get band and kicked out. STAY AWAY THEY HATE COMPLAINTS THEY WILL BE BANKRUPT BEFORE THEY KNOW IT I HEARD THEM SAYING THAT THE CHEFS ARE TRAINED BY THE OWNER WHO DOESN'T KNOW ANTHING ABOUT COOKING OR FOOD HENCE PEOPLE COMPLAINING -10000000/5*

Visited here for a weekday carvery was a little worried because of some reviews. Needn't of worried staff were very welcoming especially to our dog 😄 Carvery was absolutely gorgeous loads of choice all fresh and beef was to die for. Thanks again

The staff were really lovely and welcoming, the food was piping hot too which was great, however…..the place was like a sauna, quite a few people complained about it also but staff couldn’t seem to do anything about it. I guess they don’t have air con. The tables were really sticky. I’m aware the cleaning solution does this and my table had been cleaned, however my phone was glued to it and I had to peel it off. They were all like it and the chairs were all falling apart. Underneath them, you can see all the fabric hanging off. Then came to ordering food. On the app, there were so many things out of stock. The food i did have was such a small portion for the price and so was my friends meal. The desserts were clearly microwaved too. It was roughly 8pm and a staff member says “I’ll start taking off the tills now” which made us feel like we were overstaying our welcome even though it’s 3 hours before closing. I personally won’t be returning, even though the staff were lovely, the place is falling apart and food not worth the price at all, we also felt we were being rushed out.

Service at the bar was extremely slow. Server didn't keep notice of who was there first and order to serve people. So just served the locals first leaving other customers who had been waiting alot longer to wait even longer. Very disappointing and food was very pore for the price there are better places to visit near by.

The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you. The best team drom kitchen to bar iv ever experienced. We feel so welcomed everytime, faultless. Theres always a gentle but lively buzz about the place and its rarely too busy. The turkey is to die for, literally mouthwatering. Beef can be abit dry but the turkey, just wow. Roasties have improved and always a decent selection of additions to the meat. To be utterly truthful, it is only when you are humbled by the downgrade in quality at any other carvery or sunday roast providing establishment that you whole heartedly appreciate just how good this place is. The benchmark is set by this place in all areas, anywhelse is simply not comparable.

Gravy was like water and yorkshire pudding not good

We are all ways welcome with polite kind attitudes the staff are friendly always ready to help on the food absolutely amazing for a great process we'll certainly be coming again cannot felt highly recommended

Please employ someone with a personality serving the carvery… big attitude and it felt like we was stealing the meat from his own pockets. Did not feel welcome even though it was basically no one eating at the carvery.

Absolutely brilliant! Booked table for Sunday carvery, one of my daughters has severe allergies and intolerances, these guys are so diligent and caring, they made sure that her plate was brought out separately from the rest of the food, no cross contamination etc, they kept checking on us whilst we were seated to ensure nothing was amiss. If you or anyone you know has allergies, check out this place, they’re so on the ball and ready and willing to accommodate. Thanks to the chefs and the crew, 100% be returning.

Came and had a carvery today, was not was expecting food looked rewarmed or like it had been there a while, and there wasn't that much choice in regards to vegetables.

We had issues with using a voucher. The unit next to the children's area and opposite our booth was absolutely disgusting. Caked in food , not appealing at all. Burger was good but the fries were horrid. Tiny, skinny cheap French fries. Yes we should have looked better as menu but utter rubbish. They were wasted. Carrots were massively over cooked. Almost slushy. The roast potatoes are way too big. They were rock hard in the middle. Shame as the outside was really tasty but not cooked in middle due to being so big. Lasagne was tiny. Really small portion for an adult meal. Will not return.

Delicious food, We were served by the manager who was lovely and so friendly, food was tasty and arrived promptly we had a steak which was cooked perfectly, and my husband had the ultimate chicken burger which looked lovely. And we had 2 passion fruit refreshers! Will be returning! Hopefully try the carvery next time

Sunday roast was not the best, Yorkshire puds tasted like cardboard, so called carrot and swede mash, carrots weren't even mashed in. Meat and toasties were about the best thing. Reluctant to go back!

A group of 9 of us visited 16/4/24. Two gad carvery seven ordered off the menu. Carvery was amazing! Fish and chips was awesome too, hubby says best he has ever had from a restaurant. Burgers were also fabulous. We were served by a lovely bubbly lady called Janice, you can tell that she really does enjoy her job 😀 Thankyou everyone!!

I’ve been to this carvery a few times the food as been ok standard carvery food but when I went yesterday the carvery was exceptional the roast potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection all the meats were moist and over all was the best tasting it’s been , I informed the supervisor who informed me there was a new kitchen manager and it shows so credit is were credit due and also to add staff are lovely and although very busy they still were happy to help and served with a friendly smile

The bathroom was confusing but very cool according to my 8 year old :) the steak was amazing. Yorkshire puddings were crispy but soft. Puddings also looked delicious.Amazing food and I want ryan trahan to come here:)

Brilliant place, for the carvery the key is going early !

Place looked unkempt too Open and unattractive surroundings. The Yorkshire puddings were like hard stones. The vegetables were dry and the tiny roast potatoes were burnt. I have mobility issues and couldn’t get anyone to help me at the carvery. I left my ticket at my table and because of this I was given a small serving of meat by an older female cutting up meat. I have doubts she was the chef. Sadly the clientele were noisy. It was a horrible experience. I received my money back and hope the place gets re furbished with more intimate spaces and softer lighting. Pity there’s no Toby Carvery in Shrewsbury

Lovely food and service. Only downfall was for some reason not allowed to use my blue card discount?

Could not have desired meal as fish fried had broken. So chose hunters chicken,complete absence of BBQ sauce on chicken. Mentioned it to person who took our plates after the meal and asked her to mention this to the manager. Absolutely no response from the manager. Will never go here again.

We have just moved into the area and we decided to try the carvery at the Featherbed. We can honestly say that the experience was one of the best we have had for awhile! The food was delicious. All cooked to perfection!! We enjoyed the food so much that we decided to have a dessert too! The staff were all so friendly and worked hard to ensure everything went smoothly. A big shout out to the Manageress (sorry, we have forgotten your name)...she knows how to run a pub restaurant!

So straightforward and simple, lovely customer service. No faff with our sunday lunches we just came in, grabbed our drinks and dinner and left. Such a good roast too, I would and have recommended it. 2nd time I have visited and won’t be the last!

Ordered a plate of Nacho's for £9.99 and they came stone cold. I was atleast expecting the cheese and maybe the tortillas to be warm/ hot and inviting. I think they must have just got the Nacho's from the fridge. Very disappointing and worst I've had in a long time. You normally expect a staff member to approach asking I'd everything alright. Not on this occasion and I don't blame them they would have been embarrassed by the cooking. I would normally said something but my wife isn't well so didn't want to make a scene.

We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. Our tables had already been prepared for us. We were very happy with the range of food that was available from the Carvery and the menu. When the food was served it was hot and plentiful. We were a little disappointed with the limited range of non-alcoholic beers. Although we arrived a little later than arranged we did not feel under any pressure to leave promptly.

It was my grqndsons birthday and he suffers with terrible anxiety and chose the Featherbed for his birthday meal. Food was very good and staff excellent when we over stayed our alloted time slot. Thank you very much.

Jocelyn took our order and was really attentive and she was extremely polite. Dom served us our carvery and the food was lovely and the service 10/10 from him. Jan went above and beyond. Her customer service was really really good, she was extremely polite and very helpful. Overall a really good meal at the featherbed and these three deserve some extra recognition for the effort and hard work they put into the pub and for making the pub a nice place to be.
