Ordered food for Mother’s Day at 6pm and never received it Ended up getting a refund, honestly so disappointed don’t recommend

Good food good staff very pleasant

Popped into the Featherbed. Being Thursday it's steak night. Had an eight oz aged sirloin one if the best I've had in a long time. The staff were attentive and a credit. Gold stars all round

Pub was not too busy on arrival. Had a friendly greeting by bar staff, plenty of tables to choose from. Lovely atmosphere. Clean and tidy and good clean facilities. Table service was quick and efficient, ordered from app. Food arrived quickly and was good value for money. Definitely return!

Great place, been coming here since we moved, the welcome from the staff is always pleasant, caters to everyone's needs. The food menu is excellent, children have more choice. You have to try their Katsu loaded fries, b e a utiful. We could have gone home and cooked but hey, when in Shrewsbury, pop to the featherbed, why not. Thank you

Not been for a long time. This was my Mother's favourite place to eat. (Sadly she has now passed away.) She would be deighted to know that the standard of food and service remain excellent. Ian in particular demonstrated a superb level of customer service from when he took my table booking over the phone one week prior, until he served our coffees on the day. One hiccup,(much to my son's disappointment) was the unavailability of a mixed grill. He made up for this with a large carvery which was excellent both in quality and quantity. Overall an excellent lunch. We will return soon.

Standard chain pub, staff are great but the prices of beer (particularly the real ale @ £520) are ridiculous. I understand not a lot of real ale is drank in this pub so often the barrel has been on for too long, but having it better display on the front taps instead of hidden round the side and covered in advertising would help. Have been in similar Marston pubs and real ale is 50p cheaper (still too expensive) but better.

Excellent dog-friendly restaurant close to trampoline centre and climbing walls. We arrived on a Sunday with our puppy and it was packed! Carvery was available and food menu had a good choice of pub grub. We did not book a table but the friendly staff still managed to fit us in. Excellent food, served quickly and piping hot.

Had a rump steak that was so tough it was inedible, replaced with similar, gave up then chips and veg were ok.

One of the best carveries I have been to lately. Beef melted in your mouth. All the veg was lovely and fresh. Yorkshire puddings were huge and gravy couldn’t have been better.

We had the Sunday carvery. We ordered using the QR code and service was very quick. The quality of the food was very good and portion size was excellent.

Went in with 2 young kids. Ordered them a meal each -and myself something. My food comes out ages earlier than theirs - looked really good. Theirs finally comes out and mine is cold. Asked waitress if it can be redone as cold as shouldn’t have been brought out so early. “oh you want me to heat it up?” Took it away and microwaved it so I didn’t touch it as looked awful Loads of people waiting in queue for orders. bloke gave me a refund for my meal - but was stood waiting for ages for it. Disabled toilet/baby changing smelt awful

Staff was friendly, kids played on park for abit, had a carvery the meat was absolutely delicious and broke away made it melt in the mouth, the rest of the food was amazing too, cooked to perfection.

The worst meal I have ever experienced ! I wouldn’t have offered my dog the dried meat in the carvery ! & despite only a handful of people dining the service was terrible .. an xmas eve disaster so bad we left before dessert !!!

Christmas Day. Lovely experience

We came to have the Christmas lunch yesterday and we had a fantastic time! We were a little early but this wasn't an issue and we were greeted warmly and taken to our table. We got ourselves some drinks and then we were asked if we were ready for our starters. We asked for another few minutes and then when we were ready, they arrived quickly. I had the king prawns with smoked salmon and my partner had the pate. Both dishes were tasty and just the right size. We had a brief gap and then went up to the carvery. The wait was short and we were served by a lovely guy who was full of Christmas cheer and very funny! I had the turkey and my partner had the turkey and ham. Both meats were juicy and tender and the vegetables were cooked incredibly well, not a soggy sprout in sight! We then had a longer gap to let our food settle before my partners dessert came out. He had the cherry bomb which tasted lovely but unfortunately he was too stuffed to finish it all. I'd ordered the cheese and biscuits which I was going to take home but ended up eating before we left. There were three different types of cheese which were all delicious. We stayed and had some drinks after our meal finished. The atmosphere was lively yet chilled and we were impressed by how organised everything was and how lovely the staff were, they literally couldn't do enough for us. Special mention to Alden, he helped us with a last minute booking and was the cheery greeter at the beginning and to Corey, who was an absolute delight, incredibly warm and funny. We will be back for next Christmas and are looking forward to coming back throughout the year. Great job guys, thank you for making our Christmas meal a fantastic experience!!

Visited several times in last five years. Always found it very efficient with the carvery food always a favourite.

Mud afternoon last week surprisingly quiet. Good service , pedigree had run out so couldn't have that, carvery was very good. Prefer my stuffing less soggy, I don't think "squares" help. Gammon was superb, beef was tough, not the chefs fault, just unlucky I think. Returned for seconds of veg. All the veg was superb, the carrots were especially good. Very good value.

Everything was very disorganised which led to poor service and long waits between courses. Essentially there was just one bloke doing his very best to greet new customers, run the bar, take the orders and serve the food. It was chaos. The food, when taken from the carvery was cold and the fish was dry. Overall the eating experience left a lot to be desired. Two of our party opted not to have starters and deserts, so the main was their only food and it was poor. When staff did arrive to help out, they were not at all friendly - very brusque and uninterested in our customer experience. As a widespread family, we often meet at the Featherbed just before Christmas - we won't be troubling your establishment again! Extremely disappointing all round

Always love the carvery and yesterday was no exception. The staff were very attentive and friendly, we were not rushed and had time to let our meal settle with a relaxing drink. My only niggle, albeit very small, is that the gravy/sauce area is very dark and this leads to it getting messy, but it didn't spoil the evening. Not a moan just constructive criticism as you did ask. We will be back soon.

Had 2 large carvery, 2 drinks cost us £50 but couldn’t not eat it. The food was cold and very bland. The gravy was even worse. They only had vegan and gluten free gravy available which is just horrible . Could at least put a meat gravy on as an option for people with tastebuds Stuffing wasn’t even cooked and the Yorkshire pudding just tasted of dirty oil Absolutely gutted

Had the Sunday carvery. It was nice, lovely and hot. Where we were sitting was a bit drafty, and everyone in our complained how cold it was. The staff were lovely and accommodating.

Early evening visit to refuel after a long day. Opted for the carvery, wished I hadn't! Excellent choice of meats & veggies, but all 3 joints of meat were dry as a camels xxxx! And by the time they corrected this, my colleague had been served and eaten his meal so it didn't go cold. Lesson here...... avoid the carvery! Otherwise an average gastro-pub in a trading estate. Meh!!!

Amazing food. Very dog friendly and staff made a fuss of our puppy. Flying visit from Nottingham but was very impressed at the carvery. Very tasty. The chef on the carvery station was very friendly and helpful. Well done all.

Staff were friendly but Dreadful food, awful quality and not even close to value for money. Food was lukewarm, dry and overcooked. Tasted like it had been sat there since the morning. Not one part of the carvery tasted any good and we didn’t even finish our food it was that bad. Don’t waste your money here!

As a family we have been to the Featherbed for several weeks now for Sunday lunch. The carvery is excellent , the food well cooked and plenty of variety to suit all tastes. We all highly recommend it.

My new favourite find in shrewsbury. I went a few weeks ago and it was so nice that I came again yesterday and bought some ganily members too. I absolutely love the fact that they serve a carvery on a Saturday. Food is lovely. Very tasty. The place is clean, cosy & very welcoming. All the staff are so friendly and happy. Prices are great for the carvery and I like the fact you can order a small plate or even a large plate. Honestly a brilliant place and I can't wait to come back again.

Good food polite staff just slow service for food

The food was great. The people as well a drink got spilled by one of the kids and they replaced it and were super friendly. However we booked a 1:30 slot for 10- we were still waiting at 2;30 for food. Those of us were told to go get the carvery and then we waited there for another 10 minutes while the rest of the table were able to start their food. This was the only let down.

Had a nice roast dinner carvery

What has happened to this place, last night no rump steak, sirloin was awful and not 8oz, rocky road sundae in tiny slim glasses not like the picture or how it used to be. No table service you order online or at bar. Marston's just lost a customer. Wish I had gone to dominos pizza now! Edit: thanks for the reply but the sundae glasses used to be MUCH bigger I've had them numerous times! Used to take some time to eat as there was so much but now hardly anything in them. Feel insulted by your reply infact as I'm not senile and can tell if a dessert has changed in size! Again, Marston's has lost a previously loyal customer.

Very well organised, and all staff were happy and friendly - great experience.

First visit for a carvey. From the moment we entered the staff were super friendly. The carvery had a good selection of meats and vegetables. The lady who served us was so lovely and couldn't have been anymore helpful. The only downside was food was not hot but still enjoyed it. Would definitely go again.

Very friendly, made us and our large dog welcome. Service was very quick and efficient and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. Prices were very reasonable, car parking was plentiful and the atmosphere was great.

We had the Carvery. Don't know if we went at the wrong time at 12.45. But most of the Veg was cold. Peas ok The meat was ok. Was very disappointed. The waitress spoke to the chef. And we only paid for one meal.

Good clean modern pub with spacious well laid out indoor seating areas. During nice weather there is also a good amount of outdoor seating. My food was served very quickly, with decent portions and therefore good value for money. The staff were friendly and very approachable and make you feel very welcome. The general atmosphere and ambience of the pub was very good, with excellent lighting and background music at the right sound level. Would recommend a visit without any hesitation whatsoever.

Bar food great, carvery not so much. Because its an everyday carvery, it's all a bit bland. Good beers and ales not so great on ciders.

Great service by ‘that man’ and all the staff. Brilliant Carvary yesterday and my children are already wanting to go back due to the service. Great value and atmosphere and lovely little play park for children.

Our second time visiting this week and was made so very welcome by the manager and the staff the first time, we decided to come back and have a carvery this evening. Great food, service and surroundings.

The staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive.

Good points: easy parking, not too noisy, friendly staff, good variety of mains on the menu. I had gammon and chips, while my wife had scampi and chips, which were both quite good. Now the bad bits. Ordering via QR code and smartphone did not work well, the order was reset when nearly complete, and when ready to place the order (the second time) we found it would not accept the voucher that had been sent two us. So we had to order a third time, at the counter, to use the voucher. The meals that I wanted (Mixed Grill or Maxi Mixed Grill) were both unavailable. My Vegan children both ordered the vegetarian chilli. When it arrived, it was rather underwhelming, with very little chilli and very few beans. My son remarked: "It tasted liked someone had emptied a jar of salsa into the pan and said "that will do" or maybe just took the meat out - not enough protein. Vegans need plant protein, guys. Did anyone ever taste this recipe before adding it to the menu? The dessert menu was quite disappointing, mostly "chocolate-based"; my wife and I had the chocolate sundae thing, which was OK but quite small (in a big glass) and the chocolate sauce didn't resemble chocolate in any way, while my daughter had the chocolate fudge cake, which we said tasted very artificial. Phew. So, quite a lot of things weren't good. We don't, as a rule, complain or leave negative reviews - but this was disappointing enough for me to break that rule.

Restricted to carvery and children's menu due to staff shortages. In general the food was good. Only complaint would be the hard carrots. The staff were very good. Friendly and helpful.

We had the carvery at the featherbed and it was lovely food and plenty of it plus reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a nice outdoor play area for our bigger children and a safe indoor space with a few toys for the younger child to enjoy.

A very cheery welcome, really nice carvery with a good choice of vegetables. Also loved the fact that the Featherbed were supporting the local MacMillan Cancer charity bake sale and it looked like they were making a great amount of fundraising from it ~ we supported this instead of having a dessert from the menu this time but we will be back soon for our next meal!

Had been to Telford hospital so thought we'd treat ourselves to a carvery at the nearby Toby Inn. We were left waiting for ages at the meet and greet point, then when asked if we'd booked, told in a somewhat surly manner that it would be at least an hour for a table (despite being fairly quiet inside). So because we'd decided on a carvery we hotfooted it to the featherbed. We were immediately welcomed with a smile and invited to choose any table not marked as reserved. We chose the carvery option and it was delicious. The beef was melting in the mouth and the choice of vegetables was superb. The tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as they were vacated and the staff friendly and approachable. Will definitely be back.
