Held my partners 60th at Fattys Bar this past Saturday night. For a set fee they provided not only the great venue, but superb quality decorations, DJ and an amazing buffet - we received so many compliments about the food. The bar staff are extremely friendly and keep the service flowing well. A great night was had and I can’t recommend Fattys enough for a party venue.

I've DJ'd here a number of times and love it as a birthday party venue! It's small and compact, but intimate. This always makes for a good party! It's modern inside, glass and chrome, great lighting, very nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. This place is licenced later than many other venues - check times when you inquire. Parking is restricted so leave your car at home! If you need a quote for a DJ and Photographer i'm happy to help.

Came down for a Roast on Sunday, it’s banging, 4 different meats and brilliant deserts. Great staff and all sports played. Reasonably priced drinks too. You can’t lose.

I had my wedding reception here, and it could not of gone better, the staff are so friendly and work so hard, They decorated the place lovely and the food was delicious that people did not stop mentioning it afterwards I would recommend it anybody . They made my day the best

Staff ruined what should’ve been a great night! It was an 18th birthday party which we had hired out the event space for the evening which was supposed to be ours from 8pm until 1am, which is when they closed. Some guests were under 18 but before paying for the event there was no contract or information given saying that they wouldn’t be allowed inside the facility at all, so we didn’t believe there was going to be a problem. The blonde lady who must’ve been a manager to some degree was constantly staring at the group and whispering to the security, we then all got ID checked and stamped if over 18 in order to make serving at the bar easier. There was about 3 people that were under 18 within the group and they didn’t drink anyways they was just at the party due to being close with the host. They was then told to leave the site otherwise the party will be terminated and cancelled, to which we asked why as there wasn’t anything mentioned previously before payment and booking that only over 18s would be allowed to come, as the party was private anyways. Once the under 18s had been kicked out rudely by the staff and the party at this point was being ruined by them, we continued to dance on the dance floor, with no issues at all, then at 12am the blonde woman whispers to the dj and walks away and turns on all the lights, the dj then tells us that this will be the last song for the night and then we will have to leave, so not only did they ruin the party they ended it an hour earlier than what we paid for, absolute joke!! The staff then told us that apparently someone from our group has peed on the bathroom floor, which no one had, and besides, the public were also using these same toilets she still took it out on the birthday girl, ruining her night completely. The toilets weren’t clean at all when we arrived and they smelt horrible so for her to accuse us of peeing in there was a bit rich as it was anyways. This is just a rough summary of what a joke this place is as well as their staff, do not waste your money on here for events or anything for that matter as they are not helpful at all they just want to ruin your night clearly!

A massive THANK YOU to all staff at Fattys for their warm welcome and helpful attitudes. I have visited a couple of times so far, whilst staying with my partner in Essex, and I cannot fault the lovely, friendly atmosphere and attentive service we have received. I very much look forward to returning...the bar is open to sit at for a good chat, and the pink booth-like seating suits very well for cosy comfort whilst enjoying a well recommended G 'n' T - certainly more enjoyable evenings ahead at Fattys, for sure! Can't wait! Cheers!

Came for there Indian night. Karah gosht was amazing. The chef was attentive, even bringing out a taster of a different curry. Staff was very helpful throughout.

This place is just a clicky place that will only take cash. Not very clean and should be condemned due to some of the exposed wiring on show. Avoid at al costs. Zero stars from me I'm afraid 😨

Visit fattys on a Sunday for the best roast dinner in town. Seriously good. The meat is outstanding and the Yorkshire’s are to die for!

Its a bit cliquey (?) but good atmosphere and cheap drink, and some great characters...

Good bar, nice staff behind the bar with nice and calm security staff. Pool table upstairs with toilets which is great for kids. Visited here a few weeks ago for a birthday party and had a great time. Music was great by the DJ who played a mix of old school 80s all the way up to todays music and the 2000's. Would come back in the future for sure.

Been in recently as usual pub let me down. Staff friendly and even though first time I came in was a Saturday evening and busy was served quickly. Beware! I only drink shorts and they are 35ml here. Lethal but great. Will continue to return.

I hadn't been in this bar for almost 30 years ... It was Spencer's Wine Bar back then! Now called Fatty's Bar, it's definitely worth a visit! The staff are so friendly ... The Thai food was delicious .... Definitely going to go back for the Sunday Roast! Lovely atmosphere in there .... Highly recommended!

We went in for a Sunday lunch and was blown away by the quality and price, staff are helpful and friendly. Will be back with the rest of the family best kept secret in town.

I used to go in there every Sunday with my Late Dad who passed away 3 years ago I've been in there about a couple of times since but I don't particular like it in there on a Sunday I get a bit upset still missing me dad I do like it in there on Friday nights with a nice cold pint of John Smith's probably be in there on Friday Week

Drink prices are acceptable and food is good here. The place is cash only however. There is disabled access toilets downstairs and a pool table upstairs.

Creo que atienden este dos veces por semana en las noches de lunes y miércoles, pero solo para nosotros un miércoles hace un pequeño regalo a mediados de la semana.Su excelente relación calidad-precio; frescas, caseras y la comida siempre es muy sabrosa. Nos gusta la comida picante, y que han sido dispuestos a hacer un poco de trajes punzantes gustos personales.Las bebidas también están a un precio muy razonable, el ambiente en general es relajado, el personal y el dueño es amable.Probablemente vale la pena llamar con antelación para asegurarse de que están sirviendo en la noche (a veces su alquiler privado) pero, sin duda, recomendaría a todos a probarlo!

Holareservado con la familia para la cena del domingo fue fantástico realmente estupenda comida casera, tuve la carne y los niños tenían salchichas y puré el asado de cordero esposa.Y lo más destacado wwas en la mesa de al lado fue Nigel Benn y Familia sí la WBO glóbulos blancos Nigel Benn. ¿Por qué no anuncian este lugar bien tuvimos la suerte de conseguir en el ambiente atractivo y chef raro pero simpático. jajaja (extraño en el sentido).

Soy un amante de la comida thai, me gusta pensar que sé bien. La comida era impresionante y el precio era unos céntimos. 5 libras por un curry tailandés de rojo con un Arroz!! Que yo no me di cuenta que vienen con así que me sorprendió gratamente. Pedí un Pad Thai de pollo y que era enorme compartimos este plato y además era sólo un fiver. . Mi amigo llamó a su padre y que incluso se tomó una casa para él para llevar a buen trabajo.. Gorditos Bar ver la próxima semana para el mismo X

Went in on a Thursday night, to find a testosterone fuelled atmosphere - admittedly the local team (Southend United) were on telly for a major match but even so the person I went in with was the only woman in the place apart from the barmaid. The place itself doesn't lend itself to a nice chat and drink - feeling more like its geared towards drunken friday/saturday nights either with a dj or karaoke or similar. Despite the football the place was still quite empty. The drinks were ok and very reasonably priced (<£8 for a peroni and large wine) but apart from that can't find any reason to recommend a visit.
