We used to always buy their Donna meat and chips but lately it has been soaking in fat. This happened twice and I am afraid it’s good enough.

Gluten Free catered for, large beautifully cooked portion of cod with chips cooked separately. Its been so long since I have been able to enjoy proper fish and chips cannot thank you enough.

Just popped in for a bag of chips. Really lovely and good service, Being retired I travel to a lot of places on my motorbike, this is definitely worth a mention, I will be back, I will try the fish next time.

Always fresh, always friendly: This is a family run fish and chip shop located in Fairford Marketplace. We use it most Tuesdays for a "Chippy Tea" with our grandchildren after youth club. Great portion sizes and really quick service. Just what very small town/large village needs.

My wife and I shop here most Mondays. The fish & chips are always excellent and a fair price. Well done!

Visited whilst on holiday and saw this chippy had decent reviews. I asked for a cheese and onion pasty as I don't eat meat, I got back to our holiday let to a beef cornish type pasty, the chips were rubbery and inedible and my Husband had a fish, the batter was thick and crusty and the fish was dry. If it wouldn't ruin my evening I would return the whole 'meal' and request a refund. Worst chip shop we've ever been to, hungry tummies tonight, wouldnt even put it out for the birds . On a positive note staff were quite friendly.

I’ve used this shop lots of times at different times of the day on different days of the week with different menu item s over the last few years……..ALWAYS brilliant service, cost and food!

I think the negative reviews are now outdated & should be removed. Management (ownership?) has changed hands since….. we have had takeaways twice in the last month (October 2022) & both times the fish was freshly cooked with a perfect light coating of batter (NOT dense batter with inner small portions of fish, like some fish ‘n chip shops!). Also found the cost reasonable considering current inflation/economy! Staff were friendly & service was good. Old outdated reviews should be taken down.

Worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Popped in about 12.15 on Feb the 10th. Chips where totally soggy, probably not freshly cooked. Fish was dry, horrible batter, inedible . Will never return and wouldn’t recommend

Regularly travel out of Swindon to buy our fish and chips from Fairford chippy. Portions are generous, good value for money, good variety of food on offer, tasty, and staff friendly. Hard to find fault, very rarely does the food disappoint. We don’t go anywhere else now.

Logramos estacionar nuestra caravana afuera durante un día durante el encierro y esta fue nuestra primera comida para llevar. Teníamos 2 bacalao grandes que eran enormes y perfectamente cocinados y una porción de patatas fritas regulares. El lugar estaba limpio y siguiendo las pautas de Covid. El personal fue amable, así que esperamos volver cuando estemos en los Cotswolds nuevamente

The fish and chips we had were great. The cod was very well cooked and the batter crispy. The service was pleasant and friendly. Personally I could not fault anything about Fairford Fish and intend going back.

Arrived in Fairford one Tuesday night and wanted a quick tea so settled on fish chips and curry sauce. Nice meal and very reasonable prices. Would recommend and dine here again. Thanks Lee Maher.

Excellent value, £3.50 lunchtime fish and chips, can be busy if school children are in but never a real problem. Lots of other delights on the menu as well

I ordered the scampi but it was chopped and reformed and quite tasteless. Which was a shame as the fish cooked to order looked good.

Popped in here whilst travelling through Fairford. Almost walked out (and now wishing i had) i stood at the counter and the lad serving just turned around and went out the back, no “hi” or “be just a minute” nothing. Finally came back and i ordered fish and chips. Obviously the fish must have been last nights, the batter was soggy and greasy while the fish was dry. I ate a few of the chips but chucked most as they were luke warm and full of eyes and still had bits of skin on them. What a waste of money. Why do some people think they can serve you up with yesterdays fish ? Avoid at all costs.

¡Tenía pescado y papas fritas grandes y no podía creer el estado! Las fichas - ¡la mitad se fue a la papelera, ya que me habrían roto los dientes, debían estar allí sentadas desde el almuerzo! ¡El pescado estaba tan crujiente y solo un poco de pescado blanco dentro! La salsa de curry también pudo haber sido agua.¡Ha bajado tanto la cuesta y no volveré y los precios han subido! ¿Cómo se puede justificar que los precios suban cuando la comida está seca y blanda?

The fish was soggy, the burger was un-normal tasting, the bun was like a rock and the chicken was dry and flavourless.

Very often food served fresh and piping hot.freindly staff I use them frequently ,easy parking as it’s right in the market square

The fish ( Haddock ) was enormous have been there on several occasions, it is clean and tidy and always well frequented, which speaks for itself regarding its popularity.

Always a good welcome and enjoyable generous portion of fish and chips. Worth a visit when you just can't be bothered to cook!

Only in a little poxy place like Fairford could a chip shop like this survive.

There is nothing wrong with this fish & chip shop - Decent fish and chips (and other products) in good portion sizes well cooked and with friendly service 7 days/week. Yes, it may be busy at peak times, but I've never had to wait too long. Other customers obviously think it's worth waiting.

I came in right as they were closing for lunch. The young man was very nice and very clean. I ordered a small cod and chips with 3 small chicken fillets to go with it. I don’t like fish at all! This is the first time I have ever eaten a whole piece of fish. The chips were great and the chicken fillets were good. I can’t wait to eat this again!

Chips had more moisture than the coke I was drinking and a long wait for few people in the place. Terrible.

The chips were very pale, however, the fish was ok. Only chip shop close to us, otherwise would try a different one.

Not being a great fan of fish and chips, I would have to say that this is probably the best chip shop I've ever used. My partner had fish and chips and I had chicken and chips, which were both cooked fresh and were both excellent, with really good size portions. The staff are very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or use it again
