Fabio's in County Durham

Made a booking in February arrived at Fabius at 5.55pm for a 6pm reservation got seated at 6.20 had to ask for 2 chairs for my mum and dad both 82 starters arrived at 7pm punchball’s with mozzarella had no cheese on and needless to say where tasteless mains turned up at 7.45 my dads chicken was dry and over cooked the desserts where good but the staff need educating in how to serve food leaning over people to give them a plate instead of walking round and putting it in front of them is not good practice definitely won’t be back here

Great Italian food, with efficient friendly service and lively atmosphere. Lasagna followed by Tiramsu. Italian food done well. Recommend.

Always had a great time here. Never had any issues. They were so helpful at hosting 18th birthday party. Sunday lunch is to die for.

Fabulous place to visit. We only had an hour to spare and they accommodated us perfectly. 1/2 pizza and 1/2 pasta was a great alternative to starter and main and very reasonably priced. Staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Haven't eaten here for a while, but the food as always was great and the staff very attentive. Sea bass was the best I've had in a long time.

Absolutely love this place the quality and quantity of food you get is worth every penny. Often order sunday lunch from here aswell and recently had a rare experience with the order been wrong. The attitude and service from the staff was absolutely brilliant and we received our Sunday dinner today free of charge. 100% recommend this place and won't go anywhere else 👍

Wonderful food, the service was very fast and we got our food soon after ordering. Me and my girlfriend (lesbians) went on the 14 of feb for Valentine’s Day. We were watching how when the servers took the bill to the tables they would get a single fake red rose, and sometimes one of the heart shaped balloons, yet when we received our bill we didn’t get a Rose or a balloon. We wondered if they thought we were just friends considering we are both females. We weren’t bothered about getting either of them, it was honestly just the principal. We aren’t sure why this happened and we are hoping this was not because we were gay.

A credit to Chester Le Street. New decor is excellent and very eye catching. Had a Takeaway and the food was outstanding.

Absolutely speechless, one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve visited so far, PERFECT! The decorations are unique and very beautiful, each corner of the restaurant tells a different story, and the staff are extremely nice, patient, and hospitable. The music choices are great and transport us back to the 80’s! The food is out of this world, I have had the best carbonara pasta ever in my entire life, the Italian meatballs were great, and the desserts were the perfect touch to finish this delicious meal. My biggest compliments go out to the chefs (and lovely staff)! I very strongly recommend the tagliatelle carbonara and the white chocolate profiteroles! I will definitely be back. Extremely worth the visit, give it a try, you will not regret it!

Ordered and dined in a few times and every time is always a great experience. Great attentive staff and the food is always top tier. Ordered the bolognaise pizza tonight and it did not disappoint.

Great food, just a shame about the customer service. Rang up as received the wrong garlic bread. I was told we had ordered the wrong one on JustEat (which we hadn't), but the man near the woman on the phone clearly asked if we wanted just a plain one with cheese and tomato and they would send one out. A few minutes later they rang back asking if we wanted to leave it because it would be an hour (and AGAIN the woman said "well it was your fault", which was rude), when we said that we could wait I heard whispering and then she came back on the line saying that their kitchen was shutting. Their kitchen was open for at least another hour and a half!! Need to learn a bit of customer service.

New Years Eve party was the worst we've ever been to. Advertised a female singer for 9.30 and disco so we thought it would be a party atmosphere. How wrong were we. It cost £15 for a ticket which was a cheap price for NYE however there was no effort put in to make it where people wanted to stay and enjoy a drink and dance. The singer was OK but not for a NYE party. Maybe for no more than an hour then disco but this didn't happen. Many people left early including us. We left at 11 and no-one had got up to dance during the time we were there. What a let down. We also went in a couple of weeks ago for my birthday and food has gone down hill since opened. I had steak and the asparagus on top of steak was drooping and dripping in oil. Bottle of wine (prosecco) was nearly £30 with meal. Fabio's you need to do something or you'll lose all your custom especially when there's a cheap Wheatherspoons right next door. You have to speculate to accumulate. We feel that NYE at Fabio's was a total waste. We used to love going there but we'll not be going back.

Attended a Xmas party 🥳 here. Was such a busy night n he place was heaving. After quite a wait for our tables the service was good n the food was beautiful. Lovely n hot n plenty of it too. The drinks I thought were really good prices compared to the likes f Nestle eseciaythe cocktail offers on. All in all a great night. Would definately visit again. The staff never stopped all night.....

New favourite Italians 🍝🩷 We haven’t been yet since the new refurbishments but the food is to die for here, absolutely amazing, fills you right up 😂 staff are gems too, some of the nicest waitering staff I’ve came across at an Italian restaurant. Can’t wait to go back ❤️

Today was our first time at the restaurant, booked our Xmas meal for 17 of us, food was amazing, staff were very friendly, an amazing restaurant with a fabulous atmosphere. Highly recommended

me and my friends went for fabios bottomless brunch for our Christmas work night out and it was absolutely amazing! Staff were outstanding they couldn’t have done more for us. Food was amazing! Drinks were absolutely lush and they even let one of us choose to drink vodka with any mixer she wanted (which wasn’t on the bottomless menu) because she doesn’t drink anything else which was extremely kind of them. They brought over shots for us all which also wasn’t on the menu which yet again was very kind of them . I would 100% recommended fabios for food and drinks and to defiantly try their bottomless brunch as it’s truly great. We all had a lovely night and will defiantly be back many more times. Thanks again for a wonderful night

Fantastic service and great food

An Italian restaurant at the top of Chester-Le-Street. The place is beautiful as shown in the photos below. It’s very atmospheric with the lights and the fauna around the restaurant and the music is very fitting to the place and its culture. The service was extremely fast, we had ordered a starter and a main and we were out of the restaurant in 40 minutes. Very quick service and it was shown with how hot the food was. Which is what you want from a restaurant. The presentation of the food was amazing and the taste of the food was amazing also. The lasagna was hot and tasted amazing, the pizzas are huge and it takes a lot to eat one. The only downside I have to say about this is when we asked for the bill, the guy walked away and didn’t get it for us. Which can be understandable as it was busy, so we had asked another server and they got it. So it wasn’t a problem but I’m just being picky.

Spot on price service etc and short notice

I waited almost 3 hours for my order. Called the restaurant to ask how long it would be ... They forgot to put the order through and the young lady I spoke to didn't actually seem bothered about my query and she took my initial order .Which I placed at 12.05pm...lack of mash and turnip .. Roast potatoes hadn't been cooked they were practically raw.. Couliflower was rock hard went straight in the bin as were all the other veg very hard... Not tasty at all.. Had to use a steak knife to cut through the Yorkshire pudding as it was so hard... Won't be using this service again unfortunately.. Very poor value for money.. This is a shame as I often ate in fabios for Italian food which also took a a bit of a dive....

Friendly welcome, nice atmosphere, efficient service. Food was well cooked with ample portions. Only criticism is that the fries served with my wifes main course were obviously frozen variety with some overcooked otherwise it would have been 5 stars all round. Would definitely come back.

Excellent food in a lively atmosphere. Tasty and decent portion sizes, a Tiramisu to die for, better than the ones we had in Italy. Attentive, chatty staff and great value for quality food.

Fabulous late lunch beautiful Smoked Salmon Risotto and Penne Boco. Service first class and Toilets spotless. As visitors to the area we will be back

Visited first time on Saturday evening for my sons 21st , 11 of us were there and nothing was a bother , the food was delicious we all ordered of the specials menu , starters and mains , empty plates all round , the staff are fab , they made the night by being friendly and serving us all with no trouble. We will definetly be back

Went on a girl's day out, and had lunch and cocktails. The food ,service, and drink were outstanding. I would highly recommend Fabio's .

Dined here tonight before an escape room. Had myself a cheeky lasagne and the boss got herself a risotto. Nice timing between drinks and food orders and the food came out pretty quick with reasonable size portions. What was extra cool about the lasagne was that is was definitely cooked on the sun itself and then flown straight on to my plate and to the table. The lasagne itself was lovely, a tad dry. Risotto was also very tasty. The deserts of tiramisu and chocolate brownie with custard were fantastic. Recommend and would eat here again. They also offer a Sunday lunch which looked pretty decent, those Italians love a Yorkshire pudding.

Wow.... My family have just been to Fabios to celebrate my parents 52nd wedding anniversary and my son's first day of his apprenticeship. Amazing! Absolutely outstanding. Service was understandably slow given how busy it was. Food was good for most people, but I struggled to find anything gluten free and most staff did not help with this

Paid a few pence off £30 only for them to suddenly cancel so I have to wait 3-5 days for money back if you’re quick to take money should be returned immediately never again

Good Italian food and reasonably priced

Excellent restaurant, friendly staff and great choice of food. Cocktails are amazing! Best choice of vegan options I have seen in a long time and food is lovely.

Fabulous place upstairs for a function

Always great service, great menu options and reasonable price. Never been disappointed with food here. Loads of drinks options. 100% recommend the mozerella starter and chicken Diane are favourites of mine from here. Lovely staff.

I have been there a few times and had their main Italian menu, very good. I went for the Sunday roast this time and it was fantastic. Great choice of meats and very reasonable price. Within about 10 minutes of ordering out came our plates with roast potatoes, mash, tonnes of meat and a huge Yorkie!! Then a side dish each of cauliflower, mashed swede and broccoli. It was delicious. The cocktails are also always really good here, and usually 241!! Overall great food, service and it was a nice busy atmosphere.

Found this place after not wanting to go into Durham city centre and wow what a place. Lovely beer (Jute!) and even better food. We had the Calzone and the Bosco pasta. Both amazing. Thank you for such a nice evening.

What a great experience, we've eaten here a few times, but tonight was exceptional. It can get very busy, but the staff handle it well and we're very present and attentive. The price of the food is very good, for 4 pints and 2 dinners it was £34, which is £10 more than where we usually go and we had an extra pint each and the quality of the food was amazing. Needles to say this is going to be our regular from now on. BTW I was messing on with the vid from my phone as I was learning, I think it turned out pretty good.

Excellent 👌 great Italian restaurant for a great price in central Chester le street. It doesn't have its own car park but lots of car parks and off street parking within a few minutes walk. The staff were friendly and the menu varied with something for everyone. The early bird special is a bargain and when we went it was busy with both families and couples.

The only place I'd recommend in Chester-le-street. Went here with my partner and our daughter. My Auntie and Son were visiting. The staff are always pleasant and attentive and the food is always amazing.

Recently went to Fabio’s for our work Christmas lunch. There was over 30 of us with majority having 3 courses. Staff went above and beyond, all food was served hot with no error on orders etc. Everything was delicious! They also provided us with a private space for our team meeting too! Every staff member thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. We’re hoping they’ll have us back next year. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing sunday dinner, good value for money and delivered smack on time

First visit to fabio's. Was a recommendation from.a friend.. We don't usually go out for a Sunday lunch but after hearing great things we gave it a try. We visited on Nov 12th remembrance Sunday so the place seemed pretty busy. We were served very quickly and drinks arrives soon after. Two of us had the trio of meats Lamb,beef and chicken served with mash roasties and veg. The kids opted for pizza..All food was great and washed down with a pint of Cafferies shandy. Really enjoyed our visit and will be returning soon..

Food amazing definitely worth a trip there, Sunday lunch can't go wrong. Music a bit loud though, difficulty hearing across the table.

Not good, waited to long between starters and main course, 1 main meal cold, returned to be warmed up, waiter not happy I asked for this, meal returned, wrong roast should have been lamb got beef. Too many bookings took between 12 and 2 I think, waiters haven't got time to give good service. Back to Fabio's one year later for my grandaughter's 16th birthday and I have got to say everything above has been quashed, the service was brilliant, the meal was lovely and the staff was tip top. Well done to say I had reservations about going back you have proved me wrong. 😄😄😄

First time visiting. It was a Monday evening so obviously quiet. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was good - I had olives and bread to start, my partner had soup of the day. The olives were underwhelming but still decent with lovely toasted bread drizzled with a tasty basil oil. For main course my partner had a burger and I had chicken with onions and mushrooms. The chicken was moist, well seasoned and the onions and mushrooms were nicely cooked, if a little oily, but had lots of flavour. We really enjoyed our evening, the atmosphere was lovely and will be back 😁

Greeted with a sneer by blonde girl in plaits. Seated in a draught. 15 minutes wait to get drinks and food order. Roast pork luke warm. As we're the vegetables. Vegetables too crunchy and undercooked. Ridiculously flat yorkie. Fat left on pork and the crackling was hopeless. Chicken inferno.... still waiting for the kick to kick in. Chicken was nice, but no heat to it as inferno would suggest. Watched take away orders leave kitchen. Veg all microwaved. Disgusted at the extra charge for half a boat of gravy. Plaited hair girl brought card machine without showing me or tellng me the amount to check. It was just thrust in my face! I had to ask to see the price on display before tapping card. 1 plus point... fantastic chips.

Really appalling service, ordered Sunday lunch through just eat which is currently 2 hours overdue, called the restaurant who said if it hasn't arrived in next half hour to just call them again!

Incredible takeaway roast dinners. The chicken was juicy, tons of gravy, and I don't know what you put in that mash but oh lord! We will definitely be ordering again next time we're up.

Went for an evening meal with a couple of friends. Staff friendly, food lovely, restaurant is clean. Only reason for 4 stars is staff just automatically kept the change from my bill as a tip. It was £16 which is a lot to assume. We had to ask for the change back and they had no idea how much it was, which also seemed strange. Other than that, nice local restaurant and I will return. On a separate note, the Sunday dinner is delicious. Portions are huge and you get loads of meat! We get a Sunday dinner delivered quite regularly.

I recently had a disappointing experience with a food takeaway from Fabio's. I ordered a few dishes, and unfortunately, none of them lived up to my expectations. The first disappointment was the sticky toffee pudding. Not only was it cold (frozen?!) and hard, but its appearance was quite off-putting as well. It had an odd texture that made me hesitant to even give it a try. Next up was the pizza Parmo which too my surprise, was without the rocket, which was another letdown. Another one was the goats cheese on the Rustica Primavera pizza which was tasteless. Lastly, the cheesecake of the day was a questionable choice. I couldn't help but wonder if it was truly a cheesecake. The taste and texture were unlike any cheesecake I've had before, leaving me uncertain about what I was actually eating.
