Rooms are quite dated and severely lack ventilation - over 5000ppm+ CO2 reached overnight, all ground floor so can’t leave a window open. Breakfast is an incredibly generic 90s hotel breakfast. Deep fried eggs. Deep fried sausages. Poor coffee. Parking is very tight with workers. Otherwise fairly clean and quiet considering. Good location for walks or onward travel. Close to the near-ruinous Trehill House, which is well worth a visit to see what the Ley family once owned.

Everything is all you can ask for. Great service. Great staff. Great value for money. Great location. Even good food and drink. And great parking. The only issue I have which doesnt apply to most people is that what ever they wash their bedding woth im allergic to, so I can never have a comfortable night sleep. But otherwise, everything else is fine.

I would have given 5 for service but had a couple of issues....asked at the bar for an Irish Coffee and was told they had no cream...... can't believe that, and also we ate in the restaurant and when finished went to the bar and had a couple of drinks then went back and went to bed, at around 11pm the room phone rang and stopped and rang again (we were asleep) answered the phone and they asked for payment for the meal, we thought it would be put on the room bill, not good service. My car was still in the car park we had not left the site without paying......not happy with that.

We booked this hotel as a convenient stopover while traveling from London to Devon. Overall, it served its purpose well, offering a comfortable stay with a few minor hiccups. The hotel itself is quite nice, with a welcoming atmosphere and a well-maintained property. Our room was spacious, providing plenty of space to relax after a long journey. While we did notice a few cobwebs in the bedroom, the room was otherwise clean and perfectly suited for our needs. One of the highlights was the cooked breakfast, which was delicious and provided a great start to our day. The variety and quality of the food were impressive, making up for any shortcomings we encountered during our stay. However, our check-in experience left something to be desired. We arrived very late, only to find the reception closed. A note on the door directed us to where we could find our room keys, but the instructions were unclear and it took us about 20 minutes to locate them. After a long day of travel, this was a bit frustrating. Despite the check-in issue, the hotel was a good choice for a quick stopover. If you’re planning to arrive late, it might be worth confirming check-in details in advance to avoid any confusion. Overall, it’s a decent option with comfortable rooms and a tasty breakfast.

Checking in was quick and painfree, quickly dropped the vags in the room and then to sort the car. There are several EV charging points, downloaded the app and off charging the car was. The food was very nice, all staff extremely helpful and friendly. The room was well stocked, the bed was comfortable. Nothing more could be asked. Enjoyed the stay, will come again when in the area.

Very nice revamp. Rooms are ok, still feel a bit old and some of the finishes could be better. The restaurant is ace. There's a bar too with large TV and usb charger sockets. Breakfast was good but not all you can eat. Just missing croissants.

Amazing value, nice modern clean rooms with a very good ensuite, even a Iron and ironing board. Close to M5, plenty of parking. Good hot breakfast with cereals, yogurts and a fruit salad.

Conveniently placed for a short overnight stay, this motel was comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. The family room was ideal, if a little dated. That being said, noisy guests returning to their rooms at 1a.m., letting the doors close loudly, talking and being inconsiderate were not appreciated. This place is very anti dogs, sadly. There should be some rooms that dogs would be welcome in, as ours had to sleep in the car. There were even signs on the grass saying 'No dogs'. So where were they supposed to go for a wee at night?

Have stayed here a few times but sadly this time the room was seriously lacking from past stays. I opened the door ans all I could smell was cigarettes, there was mould growing on the ceiling ans the fire door was being shut what seemed like ever 5 mins.

An amazing gem. Just off the A38. The hotel has ample car parking. The rooms are usual budget quality with bed, bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities. Each room has a table and chairs. A wardrobe which has extra blanket. A hairdryer is available in the room. An ironing board is also in the wardrobe. The bathroom is very nice and there are towels supplied for the use of the guests. The hotel has a bar as well as a main restaurant. The meals are nice and not too pricey. There is a shell garage not far from the entrance to the car park. Ideal if you are after a snack. Very nice hotel. Will definitely stay here again!

A great stopover location - easy to find and access. We booked a Suite as I like a larger room and it was surprisingly good! Reasonably decorated with nice thick carpets. Clean as well, with nice working area, small sofa, good tea and coffee facilities and a large window for fresh air. Room supplied with a large fan as no air conditioning. Massive TV in the room! Friendly staff, plenty of parking, good value. Even some EV chargers available but didn’t use them for the Tesla on this occasion but nice to have the option. It’s a motel-style facility with rooms accessed from courtyard parking but that’s fine, it serves its purpose well.

Stopped here numerous times when I've been working away, such a lovely place. The hospitality from all the staff was brilliant. The rooms are not too big or small, the food and drinks in the restaurant is delicious. My only issue is that one of the cleaners accidentally threw a carrier bag away that had my toiletries in, the cost of my electric toothbrush, mouthwash and toothpaste was around £30, which isn't a big amount but I'll have to purchase new ones. Apart from that, I've never had a bad experience, and it wasn't an issue to remove any stars or leave a bad review.

Smell of sewage / drains out side front door , tried 3 different seating areas to find a table that was safe, we nearly lost our hot drinks food because of the wobbly tables, there's a serious risk of someone getting badly burnt. Spoke to staff about this issue, said it had been reported to managers but nothing had been done about the tables
