Evergreen in South Staffordshire

Been coming here for 8 years now give or take a few months and I have eaten most of the menu during that time, I have to say I have not had a bad meal yet. Yes they do pre-cook food in order to make your order quicker. Delicious.

Having been up and down the M6 on family business we called into the Evergreen to save time, so that we didn't eat late. It was a dreadful experience made worse having spoken on the telephone with the manager. Firstly, all the dishes ordered were of average or bland. Less the rice which was cooked well. The biggest problem that we had was the crispy lemon chicken. It was not crispy and undercooked. The chicken had the consistency of fish. It was totally inedible. I telephoned and spoke to the person who takes the orders and explained that the chicken was under cooked. The telephone was on speaker and there were two others listening. The person who took the call told her manager that our chicken was "Raw". He replied that it can't be "all chicken is cooked twice". This shocked all three of us, and I asked to speak to the manager. He immediately went on the defensive, and explained that the chicken was partially cooked covered in breadcrumbs and then recooked to order. No matter how I tried to explain our horror at this. All I got in response is that you can have your money back. He also stated that he had been in the Chinese food business for 13 years and all Chinese restaurants do this. We three our food away.

Very poor, food was tasteless and bland. The curry was that thick it fell out the dish whole. The whole food we had felt lije it was cooked yesterday and microwaved today Very poor will not use again

Dry chilli salt items are perfect flavour, spicyness and of high quality. Singapore vermicelli is gorgeous, best chinese we've ever had.

Excellent food, lovely people, will amend meals to suit tastes and offer a small range of foods that they can alter to suit diabetic requirements

Lovely food and reasonable price, went over to Wing Fat, wait time was 40 mins so thought would try Evergreen, only took 15 mins, staff were great and food was lovely, I waited in my car and they came to me with it…great experience.

Ordered on Saturday at 6.15 and was told 1 hour and 15mins. Fair enough busy Saturday. 2 hours 15 still waiting. No answer on either phone number

First time used .service was good delivered on time however chips missed off order and sweet and sour chicken was in plum sauce.ithink the errors were due to being very busy but it did take the edge off the meal.apart from that food was very good and I will use again.

Great food, staff are always pleasant on the phone and delivery is always quick, can't recommend enough!

The food is lovely. A bit heavy on the salt but if you tell them they'll accommodate. Friendly team, good parking, easy to find. And good value. Reviews say the Wing Fat is the best in Penk - no way! Evergreen wins every time.

Tasty Chinese food to take away - we enjoy the chow mein, fried rice and sweet and sour dishes. The menu is extensive.

We were in Penkridge for a few days on our boat and decided on this place for a takeaway. We ordered 2 x large pancake rolls. 6 x small spring rolls. 1 x chicken and pork chop suet and 1 x house curry with chips. The meal was delivered to a canal bridge near our boat. All food was hot and was very tasty. We are so pleased we tried this place. Top marks from us.

Last time we recieved our order a few months ago we was disappointed, fatty spare rib, chow mein was noodles with curry powder and yuk sung poor, so we decided to try it again, I have to say the food was excellent, makes me think there’s a different chef, pork yuk sung tasty,chow mein good fresh flavors, chicken curry good, crispy chicken with garlic and chilli very nice and the salt and pepper chips was a hit !! Whoever cooked these on Monday the 28th oct it has made a vast improvement, will definitely return again if the standards are the same.

Always good food. Make sure you have cash though. It's all they accept. Worth the effort though. Prices are the cheapest around and portions are good. Food isn't greasy either like a lot of takeaways here.

I highly recommend Evergreen for anyone with Coeliac Disease. We recently found out that they can safely cater for a gluten free diet and they have been brilliant. My daughter is now extremely happy to be able to enjoy a proper Chinese takeaway for the first time in her life.

Ordered a delivery for a lot of food and still waiting 2 hours later!!! Not impressed!!! Never purchasing again from here, sizzling wok isn’t too far from here and so much better! Definitely recommend going there instead.

Called in very friendly people, staff helpful and catered for our needs! Would highly recommend 10/10

Amazing food,quick delivery and very polite drivers but why the £2.50 delivery PLUS 50p service charge to go from smallthorne to Burslem😩 (probs about a mile and a half) puts me off sometimes and I go elsewhere,if a service charge is added then at least reduce the delivery charge a little.

Purchased Ribs and Singapore chow mein. Got home opened the ribs and found them to be raw and lumps of fat. I called the shop and they told me to have a replacement next time I was passing. I decided to take the ribs back there and then. A round trip of 14 miles. The owner of the shop said it was normal for the ribs to be this fatty and there was no call for a complaint. We have had a lot of Ribs in the past from Evergreen and they have been fantastic. These were inedible!The owner would not accept the fact that the ribs were actually raw. Eventually after a discussion a refund was issued for the ribs. When I got back home my husband had thrown the Chow Mein in the bin. The chow mein smelt off and we did not want to risk a tummy upset. All in all a very disappointing experience and I am only sorry that I am not writing the normal good review.

It’s been the third time we have had meals delivered to us, like anything you compare and find stunning food and ok! Starter for 2 dim sum platterGood, fatty small ribs and tiny spring rolls, crab claws beautiful,prawn toast nice and dipping sauce yummy!!Also chicken and beef yuk sung lettuce wraps, not again for us,very watery!we usually have chicken from elsewhere and the mix didn’t work for us! Personal taste, one or other Mains Cantonese sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, superb!!Singapore style chow mein looked very overdone seared noodles but was very enjoyable!!❤️We shall order from there again, what they are good at deserves a five!others not to our taste a three but overall the good food outdoes the others! If I could make suggestions Less fatty pork ribsMore filling maybe orlarger spring rolls Highly recommend

Lo intenté anoche por primera vez. La comida para llevar comida china que utiliza normalmente en la puerta Acton estaba cerrada y yo decidimos conducir a Penkridge para ver lo que estaba abierto. Estuve muy contento de lo que hice. La variedad de platos era fenomenal y los platos que seleccionados eran muy apetecibles y sabrosos. La próxima vez, me gustaría probar el curry rojo tailandés y algunos de los aperitivos más interesante que tienen en oferta. No hay nada más que puedo decir aparte de "pruébalo, ¡es genial! ".

This takeaway venue is superb, always of a very high standard and always delivered within the time stated when placing your order. You can stand and watch your food being cooked and the kitchens look very clean.

We use them all the time they have a very varied menu with really nice food.We live on a canal boat and they are perfectly happy to deliver food to us in some very obscure places !!!
