Evan's Fish & Chips in Blackpool

My local chippy for 3 years. Went tonight half 5ish after a brilliant day out with the family. Chippy tea! Get In! Had to go and get money back as chips were hard in middle, fish had a hair in batter. Pie Luke warm. No good at all after being such a good chippy. Standards dropped massively. Going elsewhere after this

Depends on the staff/day...peas really over dry, must be days old, reheated over and over, chips not cooked properly and served luke warm, steak pudding the same. The server decided to put the curry and gravy in the trays first which is a total new one on me, the above rubbish was placed on top. What a waste of money, definitely won't be going back , has happened too often!

awful chips well over cooked tasted like cardboard, ended up throwing them away, poorly organised staff who seemed very confused with a simple order.

It varies, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not good, dont know why. So we go in hope, queueing can be entertaining as there's sometimes more batter on the staff than the fish, and that's saying something!

Fish and Chips were average, wouldn't go out of my way to go again. I guess the main point to make is the service received, which was poor almost felt like the customer was a burden. There were 3 staff on, it was the older lady serving, who was the problem. The other 2 seemed really nice. Just snappy and unfriendly. I asked for my sauces to be kept separate as I had a distance to get home. Apparently fine as it was 2 specials i ordered, the sauces are served separately. All good until I saw the older lady pouring gravy over one of my specials - and surely I knew that sauces are only kept separately on fish specials. So I suggest you revise the menu thoroughly before ordering. Staff wont point out quirks in their "specials" as its too much trouble. The said lady also started serving my pie special meal, I noticed it was a steak pudding rather than a pie. She put her ungloved hand straight in the tray, dropped all the chips back in the fryer, poked her big thumb into the pudding, and put it on the side for the next customer no doubt. Perhaps not the most veggy friendly place. Oh well, as a business I'm sure they are thriving as, why else would they put so little effort in providing customer service and trying to ensure customers return. Popped in here in passing on the way home from work - couldn't be bothered cooking after a long day. A charming pair of ladies serving, and a great deal on a perfect couple of portions of fish and chips for less than a tenner. In this day and age I cannot fault it.... and now I know what an Irish gravy is!

Having used before and been impressed with service and quality this visit was so disappointed. Chip were supposed to be large but was smaller than the medium ordered before and there was so much fat on chips and fish the cardboard container disintegrated. Think we will give a miss for a while.

This chip shop is consistently excellent, they know how to cook a lovely fish and the chips are so good……just excellent.

If you want a greasy chippy that doesn’t offer half the food on its online ordering system then this is the perfect place. This is one of the worst chip shops around, firstly you normally go into a chaotic shop where the staff don’t know what they are doing, get given the wrong food and literally half a meal with its 80% grease. Really not great at all

Worst fish and chips i've had should've said batter and chips because there was very little fish.. Plus they scattered bits of batter all over presumably so you couldn't see the minute fish.. I ate some of them at 12pm it's now 5.35pm and we both still feel sick as they were so greasy... Would not go here again in fact it's put us off fish and chips... Absolutely terrible..

Good food. Fair price. Fish wasn't massive but about right fir the price. Loads of chips abd fried well .

We we travelling back to Manchester from Lytham and dropped in here as we saw huge queues outside earlier in the day. I received a refreshing warm welcome even thought they were due to close, the owner was superb (I should have asked her name but didn’t). I ordered COD EYES, a large piece if battered cod on a barm cake with chips, peas and gravy, a sausage barm cake and a scallop. The owner asked one of her team to get me some ‘Irish curry sauce’ and she gave me some extra chips. The Irish curry sauce was absolute outstanding, the chips were perfect and the whole experience was a pleasure. All our food was cooked to order, the social distancing process they had in place was seamless. The prices were almost to cheap, it was behind value for money. I recommend Evan’s Fish and Chip shop without hesitation. If you pass it, stop and join the queue. Don’t waste your money in Lytham or St Annes. You must buy the Irish curry sauce.

Visited here with my girlfriend and her mum after they recommended it. It didn’t disappoint. Everything tasted fresh, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. The price was pretty cheap too. I ordered a steak pie and really didn’t expect much but it was quality and I’ll definitely be back. Try the Irish curry!

Food for everyone in the family. Really good. Would go as far as saying it’s the best chippy I’ve been to in a long time. Staff also really friendly.

Probably best chippy around and great meal deals fantastic staff open 7 days a week from 11am till 9 pm it also got a great selection of different food could eat something different everyday, it’s all cooked fresh

Good chippy with plenty of choice will definately try the haggis the next time I visit, fish very tasty and decent size, friendly service and reasonable prices.

Fish and chips just like the good old days, chips not anemic and soft but cooked really well on a daily basis, fish freshly cooked. Lunchtime offers, £2 for steak pudding chips and gravy etc. Highly recommended 👍
