We visited and enjoyed the mixed grill for 2. Everything was clean and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. The bathrooms were clean and the food was fantastic. The prayer room is a little small but tidy alhamdulillah. We especially appreciated the lack of alcohol in the restaurant and made us feel even more comfortable eating here.

Walked in off the street (no booking) and was greeted by a very warm welcome. Showed straight to a table for the four of us. First visit. First impression, excellent. Such friendly staff from the waiters and waitresses, to the managers and even the head chief took time to say hello from the kitchen. The food was superb. The whole visit was a very nice experience. Would we go back? 100% we would. Great place. Great staff. Great food. Great prices. What more could you ask for !

I planned an evening here a few weeks before and to be honest I felt super good, better than I expected. the atmosphere was super pleasant, the waiters were friendly and I really liked the food...the way the meat was prepared in front of us was spectacular. thank you for the hospitality and the efforts made for us to have a successful evening:x

"Amazing Steak and a Fun Surprise at Etci Baba!" We had a fantastic dinner at Etci Baba in Leicester! The steak was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was lively, but what really stood out was our waitress, Lamia. She explained everything in English like a pro, making our experience even better. The best part? At the end, she casually revealed she’s Bangali! We could’ve been chatting in Bangla the whole time—now that’s a twist we didn’t see coming! Great food, great service—definitely recommend!

Food is good just a bit expensive but service is horrible

We visited this restaurant today and wow, if I could give 10 stars, I would! the service from start to finish was amazing. Our waiter Sam Was so attentive, he made sure our table was ready for us as soon as we turned up, Water for the table without us having to ask for it, He was really friendly and chatty with our daughter, Rather than like some places we’ve been who tend to ignore Children he made sure to listen to what she was asking him Which was really sweet, He checked that our food was okay and another staff member made sure to let us know that our drinks were on their way. We felt really well taken care of. Not only was the food absolutely delicious it was all served in a really timely manner piping hot, I couldn’t fault it, a fabulous experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but the service and to top it all off it was my husband’s birthday and they brought out baklava with sparklers and Dry ice which was just brilliant and he loved it. Thank you!!

The cold mix meze platter tasted delicious with the Turkish bread. Good variety however the delivery driver could’ve taken more care. The tavuk kofte was okay, rice was too thick for my liking. Sadly the kymali pide was a huge let down, hardly had any decent amount of topping and was predominantly just cheese.

Managed to grab a last minute table on a Saturday night. Fantastic service, food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Food and drinks came out really quickly even though they were very busy. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again

Food has gone downhill since 2-3 years now. Small portions and high prices. Food tastes bland. Food is always cold whenever it comes. 3rd time it's cold now in last 1 year. Not a very authentic Turkish restaurant experience. Takes bloody 5-10 mins to get attention of a waiter. Have to stand up and wave constantly. Very let down. Not going to attempt it again, hoping that they have improved. Just not worth it. I can spend a quarter of the money I spent there on a nice tasteful Turkish meal elsewhere and get more meat on the table than Etci. Etci is just a rip off.

Booked the restaurant for a birthday party but didn’t live to expectations. The service was very poor and random supply of ordered food, cutlery and crockery had to be asked for, dirty toilets floor and prayer room and mediocre food. Restaurant has low staff to client ratio, a real struggle to get the food as ordered, too many excuses given, very disappointing experience.

I had an incredible dining experience at Etci Baba, thanks to the exceptional service from Imran. He truly went above and beyond to look after us. There was a small issue with the food I ordered, but Imran rectified it immediately and with great care. Food was delicious and very flavoured! We were celebrating my best friend’s engagement and to our surprise, Imran brought out a dessert with a candle and clapped for the bride to be! It was such a kind and lovely gesture that made the evening truly memorable. Thank you so much, Imran, for making our celebration special!

Had a table of 10 food was very nice freshly grileed meat on charcoal sides were really nice too, service spot on, even had a guy slice the chops at the table with some fun smoke display , the price was surprisingly very good, loadsa food we had to take a lot of back home will deffo be returning

The best steak in Leicester hands down. The platter for four was sensational. The fat was rendered beautifully and the steak melted in the mouth. Seasoned to perfection and the accompanying sauces and vegetables were superb. Please visit this place. The staff were very attentive and not overbearing. I am a regular customer here and I feel the quality of the steaks has reduced the last couple of times. The staff are lovely and helpful including the managers who are very attentive. The reason for my 1 rating is due to the fact they are continuing to sell products made in the illegal state of Israel in the occupied territories of Palestine. I will not have my money sponsor a genocide of innocent people. Therefore, I will be making it known that Etci is essentially supporting a genocide and to not go there. Our community hold strong values and principles and we will ensure that the restaurant is making no efforts to make ethical changes.

Shocking service, small portions, and very average food. Takes around 20 mins to get hold of a waiter/waitress for simple requests. The portions are very small and they gave us the wrong order. The food is bland and tasteless. If you want authentic Turkish food then go elsewhere. Took 10 minutes for a waiter to bring us a dessert menu and he then didn't bother coming back for another 10 minutes to take our order. Once we ordered our dessert we were told the kitchen is closed. Didn't even offer a complimentary tea like every other Turkish restaurant across the country. Avoid this sham of a place and head to Konak, located on the same road, for a truly authentic Turkish meal.

Been here few times now as a family with kids. We travel from Birmingham and service and staff friendliness hasn't faultered yet. Also on a very busy day after Eid we were quickly seated. Which is why we are returning customers as service is great.

Brilliant sercice. Nice setting and lovely food. We had the steak platter for 4 which was fantastic. £120 came with sides and bread and dips. 2 men and 2 ladies and was just right for us. Would definitely go again. Good value for money.. the platter included ribeye, sirloin and fillet.

This was a good discovery, a Turkish restaurant close to the Leicester railway station. Adana lamb kebabs were excellent, soft, succulent, well spiced, served with rice, and a bit of a salad. At £16, it offered a good value for money.

Staying at The Belmont Hotel and didn't fancy the hotel food, so ventured out to the high street. Etci Baba looked well presented from the outside, and you could smell the charcoal, so we decided to go inside. The staff are incredibly attentive and welcoming. There's a great balance of being attentive but not being overbearing and feeling rushed, and the staff have got the balance just right. The sharing platter for two is inviting and generous; there wasn't one thing on the plate that wasn't grilled to perfection and was extremely tasty. Highly recommend the beef with cheese, and the baklava wasn't too sweet and utterly delicious. The meal ended perfectly with a complimentary Turkish tea. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant if you have the chance; great service, generous portions and excellent value for money. You will not be disappointed.

Went there for dinner! Good cozy space and good service! The starters, tacos were good. We got the platter and some of the meats were over cooked which hurt my teeth! But overall it was good.

Lovely Turkish. We have been here many times and would visit more. Best quality Turkish restaurant in Leicester with warm hospitality from the staff. Quality food at affordable price. Their complementary breads are warm fluffy. Also, do try their complementary Turkish tea at the end of the meal. Always buzzing.

Amazing food! Their lahmacun is second to none and I had one in Turkey but Etci Baba’s lahmacun was even better! Beautiful, spacious restaurant with excellent customer service. Very friendly staff, Hilda took great care of us. Mohamed and Imran were very welcoming and checked in a few times to ensure everything was going well with our order. The restaurant was busy but not overwhelming. My 1 year old felt very comfortable and also enjoyed the food. Nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Great place for families and couple. Food was very good. Most of all the service from the staff is top class. 👌

Interior really nice. Only thing I’d say is the sofas are dirty and are so low so it’s a bit hard to eat. Waiters are annoying asking every 5 minutes if you’re ready to order, I will tell you when I’m ready to order if I’ve told you three times we’re not ready. Apart from that service is good and everyone is nice just a bit pushy. Food was fantastic, no complaints there.

Lovely place for great turkish food. Exceptional customer service. I like that they serve free fresh turkish bread as appetiser. Food was delicious and portions massive. We ordered sharing meze for starter and everything was cooked beautifully. Would definitely recommend trying it out once.
