We made a reservation a couple of months ago for 7pm last night. We confirmed that reservation just a few days ago. We showed up there last night on time, only to find the place was closed. There was no note on the door. We called their phone number. No answer, so we left a message. We e-mailed. No reply. There posted hours say they open at 6pm on Thursdays, so we knew something was wrong. We waited 15 minutes for someone to show up or call back, then were forced to find somewhere else to eat. As of this moment, the restaurant has yet to get back to me to explain what happened.

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years, and have enjoyed every visit and recommended it to many friends and business colleagues. I take no pleasure in writing a very poor review , now that the restaurant is under new ownership. The service , food , ambience and attention to detail is well below the standard expected of this level of restaurant. On a very quiet night, the restaurant was virtually empty (in the past it was always full), and the ambience lacked any energy - everyone looked bored. Our table needed attention as it rocked, the waiter brought the wrong mineral water and took ages to bring the right one , same with a simple request for Italian breadsticks. The Amore non-alcoholic cocktail was £14 and held little interest, £25 for a small glass of rose champagne (we asked for house champagne expecting brut) was again overpriced. The Il Tonno starter was thick and covered in a brown boring sauce. The Burrata and pea soup was very good. The main courses were a major disappointment . The Farfalle Ripiene pasta tasted as though it was made at lunchtime , curled up and tough, whilst the Duck Ragu was bland and tasteless, almost worse than a microwave frozen dish. No depth to the sauce , and I gave up eating it. So far from the quality expected at this level. A small glass of Gavi di Gavi was very ordinary, and glass of Le serre nouve , a second wine from Ornellaia cost the same as half a bottle. We skipped desert and coffee. The service was slow and patchy , even with an empty restaurant. I don’t normally comment on the cost of a great meal at a top restaurant , but well over £200 for 2 with no bottle of wine , desert or coffee represents very poor value. Such a shame to see a firm favourite relegated to ‘unlikely to book again’.

We had dinner as part of our trip to the Chelsea Flower Show and were disappointed. The food was quite good but the service left a lot to be desired. We weren’t particularly in a hurry but we had to ask for drinks, ask for the wine to be sent down and generally the whole place seemed to be disorganised and COLD!! It is expensive enough and with a 15% surcharge included for service I would have expected at least an enquiry as to if we were happy but no. I won’t go back, there are far too many other, better quality restaurants in London.

New owners, same food, service, ambiance. The Turi's have left last year but the crew is up the task. We come for the food which is the best Italian in the neighborhood (sorry Carraf|n|). There is still too much turnover in the wait staff but there were plenty of them (and every restaurant has suffered since Brexit/Covid). Did I say they have excellent Italian food?

Lovely decor, beautiful atmosphere, interesting menu. Everything was very calm and relaxed. All the food was tasty and well presented. 3 minor critiques which mean this review is a 4, not a 5. Didn't bring, or offer, Balsamic with bread, had to ask. Didn't offer sugar with tea and didnt explain the menu when asking about options. These small touches would be the final pieces for improvement.

I am very surprised at the negative views of the change of ownership, we live locally and welcome it. The service under the old management was appalling and we stopped going after having to send food back on two occasions as it was cold. To the contrary of the other reviews, we have found the new owners welcoming, the staff friendly and the food very good good, we are going on again in the next few weeks.

Extremely poor service. When we arrived, having obviously overbooked, they offered us a table in the basement. I have been a dedicated patron since the days they were in Putney and always sang their praises but last night I’m afraid all that changed. The service was very good (although one of the waiters kept knocking, gently mind you, my back when walking by) the attention from the legendary Mr Turi and wife was fine, but I’m afraid the food, the main reason we kept coming back, was a real disappointment. The meat my wife had was lovely, (£45!!) perfectly cooked and tender but vaguely surrounded by uncooked potatoes! My agnolotti “del Plin” a total disappointment, tiny hard parcels of pasta with a tasteless filling that I had with a sprinkling of bianchetto truffle (10.50!) also rather tasteless in an improbable mush of buttery water was not worth eating (grateful for not having been charged!), the ravioli, frankly average @£25.50 that replaced them were also nothing to boast about. And three slices of quite nice Parma ham @£28.50 (!), a small burrata @£19.50 plus’s some rather lovely and well paired wines (total of 6 glasses and not from anywhere near the high end of the well stocked cellar) added to the list, brought a bill of £310.22 Now I have eaten beautifully at a few places in and outside London with or without Michelin stars but rarely have I been shocked at a bill usually commensurate to the quality of the food and the service. It’s a great pity that what used to be my favourite Italian restaurant in London has become this: an overpriced, overrated frankly mediocre place where the best things are the service (4*) and the (overpriced) wine list (5*).

All in the title: I happily pay high price for excellent food and in that respect, the restaurant serves an innovative and good cuisine. But the quantities served are so small that you end up eating the bread in order not to starve at the end of the dinner. I'd been to the predecesor restaurant, Tinello, at this same location on Pimlico Road a few years back. I was suitably impressed by Tinello's Tuscan fare, so thought we'd give Enoteca Turi a try with another couple for our monthly 'binge and discuss' session. The place looks very much the same, albeit dressed up a bit. Small restaurant, perhaps 20 tables, not too tight and certainly a bit of ambience. Wish they'd left the exposed brick alone, painting it gold doesn't accomplish much. Nonetheless, our monthly session is all about food and wine. Demonstrating extraordinary depth, the wine book is a worthy journey across all Italian wine regions, with options available at all price levels and some nice choices of vintage. If you're into Tuscan reds, there is extraordinary depth here. About a 3x markup as you'd expect of a nice dining establishment,The food menu was interesting, certainly a fairly long way from traditional Italian, best considered a gourmet approach. We apparently visited during artichoke season (never really knew there was a season for that), so an additional list of specials. The food was well prepared, all of it perfectly cooked... albeit with a layer of complexity I don't usually associate with Italy... on some dishes it felt like they were trying a bit too hard, where fewer flavours and sauces would have shown better. The dessert menu was short and very creative, you would be forgiven if blindfolded for not guessing Italian... again, very high quality, just not 'of type.'The big letdown for us was the service. It was reasonably crowded for a Wednesday, I can only hope they were down a server or two. Wine service was non-existent, we managed our own pours through much of the meal. The time taken to order was on the long side, the servers all appeared busy - just not attending to anyone. We had to request bread, then request olive oil... all of which should have been placed when our drinks arrived. We asked for red and white wines to arrive together, so everyone had a choice based on dishes... the waiter filled all glasses with white - big miss. My main course, a pasta with prawns and artichokes, wasn't to the "liking" of the chef, so I asked my companions to start their mains as mine was promised in "about 4 minutes." Twenty minutes later my dish arrived, and I had the pleasure of my friends onlooking as they had long finished! While they kindly removed the cost of my main and the desserts as a nice gesture, that didn't really make up for poor service throughout a pricey meal.Hard to recommend based on our experience.

I visted Enoteca Turi with my sister for her 50th Birthday celebration last night. It was the first time we had eaten here but had been attracted by the sensible small regional Italian menu and our experience of eating across Italy. The atmosphere was a perfect balance between family trattoria and formal ristorante. Given its location in SW1 London, prices were not budget but ultimately reflected the care, thought and proper execution in the kitchen so the bill was reflective of our indulgence in both the food and the wine. My cod cheeks, gunard pasta, lamb and chocolate desert were top drawer and served with grace and poise by both the female a male staff. What a delight to be treated so respectfully and attentively but not at all with any pressure to drink or spend. Clearly other diners were accustomed to the personal service and the ambiance was just so warm and a real reminder of what it is to eat in off the tourist track London Italian restaurants. The only quibble I had was my glass of sweet red dessert wine was not quite as smooth as expected. Otherwise this was a very fine meal indeed and the extremely tasteful portion of complimentary birthday dessert was as classy as I have ever experienced. If you know your Negroni, Carciofi, Cavolo Nero and Grappa this place is not to be missed. My go to memories will be the silky pasta, the chick pea and black cabbage and the olive oil ice cream. Overall a wonderful balance between up market dining and the real deal Italian food supported by a relaxed and very professional front of house team. One day I will return to do some serious damage on the wine list. Go if you have eaten proper Italian food!!

Had a wonderful evening at Enoteca. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and we were welcomed at the door by the charming hostess and seated. The menu was very interesting, beautifully presented and delicious. I started with the carpaccio of beef with an anchovy cream which was supberb, followed this with the monkfish - light and sublime and perfectly cooked and finished with the blood orange done 3 ways. The chef has an extremely light touch and one left the restaurant feeling pleasantly replete but not overfull. The remainder of the party had the pasta with gurnard, the burrata, the 7 layer chocolate sponge, the tiramisu - all of which was declared exceptional by them. The service was also a delight. The wonderful Maitre D really knew his stuff and was extremely helpful with both food and wine with excellent information on both and also had a few moments to chat informally. The waitress was efficient and equally delightful. Altogether it was one of the most enjoyable evenings that I have spent in a London restaurant. The food is attractively presented, tasty, and in ample portions. The wine list is extensive, with useful descriptions of the ( mainly Italian) wines, and displaying perhaps 200 separate options to cater for the discerning palate. The sommelier proved adept in recommending choices to pair with the different dishes. The environment is bustling and cheerful.

So many Italian restaurants outside Italy appear to have lost their roots. Enoteca Turi has not. In fact it is as refined, contemporary and "real" as any top restaurants in Italy. The wine selection is excellent and pricey but the choices as worth it. The food is exquisite. My husband and I sampled 3 different dishes each and were delighted by all. Service is attentive and happily devoid of the false servility so prominent in top of the line places now a days. Would go back any time.

Enoteca Turi was a long-standing Putney favourite of mine so was sad when they moved to central London, not that it's that far away. In any event, decided to go and try out the new location in Pimlico with some friends for lunch last Saturday and I have to say it was lovely! Food still of very high quality - I had the calves liver which was delicious and a couple of friends had the rabbit which was apparently fantastic. The wines, as ever, were wonderful from their extensive list and we tried out some new ones that I had never tasted. Always a delight and the new location is easy to get to. The décor is lovely. So I hope they do very well. And the service was seriously good. Will be back.

I held a celebration in the new private dining room at Enoteca Turi which was a great success. The room is tastefully decorated, featuring two welcoming fires on a winters day. The special menu created for me was perfect from start to finish with a good selection of choices for each course and the wine marvellous. The service was attentive but never intrusive, always friendly and making sure the little details which make a difference were covered. My guests were very impressed. This is arguably the best Italian restaurant in London offering quality, style and charm. The Italian wine list is amazing. The staff knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent!

I lunched with a group of old friends. I began with veal kidney and "roasted not roasted" artichoke. That seemed to mean fiercely grilled on one side and not directly cooked on the other. But whatever it was it tasted great. I went on to osso buco (which had a twist: the bones were not bones at all: they were potato - a sort of posh Hula Hoop). There was rather more meat than I expected in this style of restaurant. My sweet course was a most curious dish of pomegranate that defies further description, but again it was delicious. We drank excellent wines.Service was efficient and not obtrusive.

Its about a year since Zucca closed, and its left a hole in our restaurant list for a restaurant serving interesting yet traditionally- based Italian food, of good quality and without breaking the bank. Does Enoteca Turi fill that gap? Well in some ways it does, sufficiently to anticipate a repeat visit, certainly. We ate five courses between us today, and none were less than nicely cooked and presented. We ate a mix of a la carte dishes and choices from the set lunch menu. We each had a starter-...

Beautifully presented food which was so tasty, with the most pleasant service and relaxed ambience. We had been to Enoteca Turi in its previous home in Putney and really enjoyed the genuine yet lovely Italian food. But this time it was even better. Great for a special occasion. I was hear with a friend who had eaten in its original Putney incarnation. I shall certainly be going back! The food was excellent (I had pasta with squid in tomato sauce followed by some delicious sea-bream), the wine list extensive and the service very professional. The set lunch menu is a bargain. Atmosphere is relaxed and informal. I understand that the building-works for their wine collection in the basement are just about complete and that there will be evenings of wine tastings. I shall certainly be heading there!

Three of us went on a busy Friday night. One of our party was Italian and a regular but I have never been to a better Italian restaurant in London or Italy for that matter. The food feels like home cooking and very genuine and is beautifully presented. Wine list is outstanding. The staff are lovely - warm and welcoming. There is the ground floor area which I would recommend and more dining space in the basement which is not so great. There is a steep staircase up to the toilets which could be a problem for the less able.

Have lunched here on a number of occasions and it has always been excellent having the edge over Manicomio. However a couple of days ago, I was disappointed. The lambs kidneys wrapped in pancetta as a starter were under-cooked and the pancetta had uncooked fat which is not acceptable. Perhaps the sous chef was covering but competition is fierce in this category and mistakes like this have to be avoided. The rest of lunch was fine and up to the usual standard. However if something like this happens again, it could well be back to Manicomio.

We used to be regulars at the restaurant when it was in Putney even though we live in W1. So we were keen to return to it at it's new venue and not just because it is closer to home. We always enjoyed the food and the service. We were not disappointed. The food and the service continued the high standard set in Putney. We lunched, which is really good value with wine by the glass, suggested for each course. The food appears simple but is really tasty and appropriate portions, although we couldn't eat pudding. I started with fresh figs with proscuitto and rocket. Fabulous. And followed this with cod. Simply superb. My partner had the minestrone and medallions of pork; also superb. The service is exquisite. The restaurant has lost nothing from it's Putney roots and while the atmosphere is different it is still authentic; it's not spartan or over wrought, it's sophisticated and fits the food, if that's possible to say. We're glad it's moved because it's an area with a number of our favourite restaurants, which should be pleased to have Enotec Turi in their neighbourhood.

Enoteca Turi were forced to leave Putney last December by a developer determined to redevelop their building and ramp up their rent. Well-known as one of Putney's top restaurants, Giuseppe and Pamela Turi and their team were much missed this year - it was always a treat to dine there and we made a point of booking it for special occasions. When we knew some good friends from France were visiting London who knew Enoteca Turi from its time in Putney, they suggested trying it in its reincarnation in Pimlico. We were not disappointed - the same friendly, attentive welcome and delicious Italian cuisine. The menu offers, as before, wine by the glass carefully selected to match each course and this is a superb way to sample wines from the restaurant's extensive cellar and discover less-known regions and has the additional advantage of avoiding the classic dilemma of trying to choose a wine that suits everyone. The new restaurant is smaller than the previous establishment in Putney but there are plans to expand it. One touch that we really appreciated was the choice of sound-absorbing material in the ceiling which allowed us to chat freely without having to compete with the noise found in so many restaurants whose bare, contemporary décor reflects and amplifies every sound.

Let's start with the wine list: the most extensive selection of regional and classic Italian wines I have ever seen outside Italy with a number of well known varieties along with others produced by niche independent wine makers. Very nice small italian in Pimlico. The service and the food were impeccable. The waiters were very helpful without beeing too intrusive which is perfect. The quality of the food was top quality as well. Massive wine list for the connoisseurs!! The only negative thing is the price of their whiskies: £11.50 for a single Talisker is very expensive. If you know the old place (Tinello, RIP) you cannot expect the same experience - even after the first months, you might have hope that they will catch up, it is just a little disappointing if you expect amazing Italian food, unfortunately just another average Italian in London: and beside that they are a high-nose on their believe how good they cook and how you get treated if you step in with trainers

The former site of Tinello (RIP) has spawned another Italian restaurant, Enoteca Turi which (according to its website) was previously in Putney. As a lover of Italian food I very much looked forward to my dinner. Sadly the restaurant didn't live up to my hopes, I'm unlikely to return soon. The room is inoffensive and the service middling; all of which I can live with if the cooking makes up for it. Unfortunately it doesn't. It's all perfectly edible but you'll have forgotten it before you finish you plate. The dishes are simple, but they are not prepared with finest ingredients or skill. It's possible that in Putney this quality of cooking was good enough. I'm not sure Belgravia will be as forgiving. The owners seemed charming and I hope that they will rise to the challenge of the site.

We really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the snarky staff and the sneaky approach to charging customers has completely put us off - they charge £2 for Parmesan cheese to have with your pasta (!) and also £2.50 for a bottle of tap water (daylight robbery.) None of this is explained to you so you leave feeling rather fleeced - much like the very despondent patron who was shouting at management for most of our meal. The food didn’t make up for it either. Entirely mediocre. Unfortunately one to miss specially with the many other options on Garrett lane.

This is one of the worst dining experiences in my last 20 years in London. Tonight. Pretentious beyond belief. House wines very very expensive and so average. £50 plus service! As to food, my wife and her friend chose a main pasta dish with crab and asparagus and both those key ingredients were left out by the chef. There are only about 20 covers in the restaurant. It wasn’t until my wife suggested I taste her dish that I called the owner over. These were about £25 each plus service. So the kitchen and those serving had no idea what rubbish they were serving. Bland watery pasta with no key ingredients. This place was recommended to us. We invited two friends. They looked up the menu in advance and thought all looked very expensive. We didn’t do that. The whole thing was so embarassing. I have never written a restaurant review before, but this place reminds me of Dick Turpin. At least he wore a mask. I think I’ll avoid Putney going forward to stop being reminded of this farce. Less than zero stars.
